Part of a kid-friendly chain serving American fare & drinks in tavernlike surrounds.
It’s average all around. Average food, average atmosphere. The music is a little loud but it can be fun here after a few drinks.
Club sandwich was not made as per menu, homemade chips cold, greasy and not crisp. Two for two, last time we dined in and the wait time after food was ordered was over an hour and food came out cold and greasy. There won’t be a third time for this restaurant. Too bad I couldn’t give “zero” stars.
I always feel so welcomed when I come here and it doesnt matter the time or day. My waiter always remembers what my children and I eat and drink. Preston is hands down the best.
We really enjoyed the classic Hams chips as a restaurant staple and super live Hams in general. Not sure if it was the timing, only Hams left or what.We ate here and as much as we enjoys Hams on New Garden, Battleground, and other Pre-Covid locations, this location didn’t have the same vibe to it.They had live music but for 5 pm on a Saturday night, however the restaurant seemed dead.
Went to restaurant at 5:30 on a Tuesday evening. I waiter for the whole restaurant except the bartender. She was only helping people sitting at bar. Sweet tea was so sweet it was making us all sick. We asked for water 3 times but the server was so busy he kept for getting it. This was our last trip there, very poor service. Maybe the should be just be a bar.....
The bartender was super nice, but our serve didnt seem interested in being there at all! It took a long time to get our food and they were even busy. I was disappointed. My food was ok.
Absolutely disappointed. I went here with my family and we had an amazing waitress. She was quick, very sweet, and got us everything we needed. Now the most important part... the food. There was 4 of us and we ordered wings (each one of us ordered our own.3 plates came out and one was being made. The plate came after 5 minutes which was fine until i looked at it.. and it was not fully cooked.. Literally red. Not just one, but almost half of the wings uncooked. The waitress apologized and called the manager. The manager seemed a little too normal about the situation leading me to think that this isn’t the first time it happened at the restaurant. She although took the wings off the check and i’m pretty sure she took the drinks off too. I personally won’t be eating here again.
Ive seen Hams when it was great, and now when its not so great. Hams can be far better than it ever was and much better than it is now. The corporate leadership needs to start caring about and investing in the store (the last one standing as there were as many as 7 stores in operation), the employees that work said store, the guests/patrons they serve, and the community it impacts.
Where do I begin? My first question is how the frik is this place even open? We walked in and the bar area is only open. It smelled like the mens room! Tables are sticky. You can tell they are short staffed. Our waiter was friendly and busy didnt see anyone else helping wait tables. Sat down in booth and was looking at huge TV on the wall over the bar and below it is an electronic ticker sign, the info on NFL football was over 2 years old! Trevor Lawrence in line for Heisman Trophy? Are you kidding me? Thats pure lazy management! Sheez! Plus A.C. wasnt working felt like a sauna in there. Got a burger and hot chips - burger was good but I hope we dont end up with diarrhea. Chips were dripping with grease could only eat a few. They need Jon Gaffer from Bar Rescue to save this Hams! Ive always loved Hams but this place is dirty nasty and stinks. My waiter was doing the best he could. I love the tvs in the the big screen over bar needs to change out the top center panel cuz it flashes and will give you a frikkin headache or maybe it was no A.C. on a hot day. So sad to see Hams go down the tubes like this. Wont be going back until they turn this place around
This Hams location has went downhill. Today, no A/C in the place. They made everyone coming in stay in the bar area. Im guessing the bartender was the waitress? She had zero personality and asked another waiter to get our order. Food was ok but the customer service was terrible. Asked for to go drinks and she dropped us off 2 empty cups with no beverage in them. We never got 1 refill the whole visit. Used to be a go to place but after today I highly doubt well be back.
Two of us went here today for the first time. The only seating available was in the bar area and it was seat yourself. It took forever for our female server to get to us. We ordered drinks and their nachos for an appetizer. The nachos were so soggy by the time they got to us. There were probably two servers out of all the staff there that we wished would have been our server. Our entrees took so long that we finally flagged down another server to get our server (who never checked the on usto inform her we wanted to cancel the rest of the meal. She finally brought our check to us and said our food was FINALLY ready. We declined it, paid for drinks and appetizers, and went to Buffalo Wild Wings where we received impeccable service and much better food!We watch two separate groups walk in, sit down, and then leave after one minute at Hams…..wish we had done that. Worse server I’ve ever had anywhere! Don’t waste your money at this place!!!
Shut this place down! My first time here and it was awful. The restaurant was nasty, smelled like the inside of a toilet. I will say our waitress was super sweet but everything else was awful, I wasn’t even able to eat my food it tasted so bad!
One star is saying alot..me and my husband waited for 15 minutes before anyone sat us and the place was basically empty. Then it took 10 minutes for a waitress to acknowledge us..she had a nasty attitude and acted like she didnt want to be there. Then brought our drinks in Styrofoam cups while everyone else had regular cups..i felt it was racist being we are Hispanic. The coke was watered down and the tea was sour..we sat there probably 20 minutes and she never came back to take our order..we got up and left
9 of us showed up today. Said we could only sit at the bar. Was very rude and she said she cant help it they are short staffed and only 3 of them to keep the restaurant opened. Very rude and said she didnt care. Bathrooms were Nasty!!! Very unprofessional attitude and rude.Wont go back there
My family loves this place now it was wonderful, the staff was great too
Bartender wasnt going to give my change back after a beer!!! I had to ask for it!! Then she gave me a handful of pennies , nickels and dimes and said she had no money!!! People are rude and service id very poor!!!! The time before i was with a group and mgr came up and gave hell to lady next to me accusing her of calling her a name!! Ill never go again nor will group of my employees that get together occassionally!! Place is very dirty
Nice atmosphere.....food was good
This is my favorite restaurant for a chill environment (except on weekends, place gets PACKEDand its always a great experience thanks to my boy JAMES! Love you man keep doing awesome work. You rock.
Normally I like Hams but today was a not so pleasant visit. We ordered vegetable soup, wings and chips. After waiting for almost an hour, we got our food. Soup was cold and so was the wings. We wanted to get a to go order but the waitress never came back.
Worst food & service that Ive had in a while. Took over an hour for a chicken wrap , grilled cheese and a sandwich to be made. When we finally got our food it was cold. After eating and returning home all three of us got sick (GI). I used to think this place was nice for a sandwich or a drink. We wont be back.
I came here on New Years eve at about 9PM to be told that the food was limited. When I mean limited, it was limited to only fried items. Waitress was not great. There was a party going on in the bar area, but I really didnt see many people. Anyway New Years eve will forever be remembered as the "time in greensboro" ugh.
Great place. Check the Website for Live Entertainment. NO ELECTRONIC PHONE PAYMENTS, Cards only as up to now, (12/17/21), for payments.
I have never written a review, but this was very disappointing experience. There was 5 other people (only at the barand 4 servers. We over heard 3 of the servers discussing who would serve us...and the other was actually working while they sat at the bar. After waiting about 5 minutes for them to "find" some menus for us, we ordered, over 45minutes later we finally got our cheese fries (also ordered wings and tenderswe waited another 15mins because we were trying to seek someone to notify them that my son found long blonde hair in the fries and the soda had a chemical after taste. No one ever came by to check in and finally we decided we would leave and notify the hostess we were trying to at least pay for the soda but noone ever came out. Would not recommend this location.
Excellent food and service. Very lively atmosphere. Staff goes above and beyond to make sure youre taken care of and that youve got what you need/want. The one thing I do hope will change before too much longer is that they go back to their full menu instead of a condensed selection. Still great food!
Loved the chicken tenders and tasted anew beer. A bit bitter, but interesting. The Mac and cheese with pulled pork was average. The customer service was not good.
It used to be good but to be honest it has been going down hill long before the pandemic started. Tonight was the first time we have been since the pandemic began. The food was horrible and I saw the waiter stick his fingers all over my straw before bringing it back to the table. Most likely will never return. This Hams was always the worst one.
This place is really going down hill fast, used to be good food and service, now its sticky tables very slow service and bad food. My chips were greasy, burnt and soggy.. hope it changes soon.
the booth areas and seating in the corners of the booths could have been a little better in the cleaning category, looks like maybe just a quick wipe down in our area. food is good, prices are reasonable, the Host doorstaff if you will, seemed less than concerned about our arrival, we actually had to go around the corner and find an employee to let them know we were there. however the gentleman that waited on us was top notch, speedy delivery on food. not exactly sure of the atmosphere as theres many license plates on the walls, TVs playing sports and a down-to-earth kind of wood furniture feel. all in all good place I would return.
Extremely disappointed. Used to be one of my favorite places before they closed in Greensboro. The only choice I had for seating was in the bar area. The staff just walks by you not offering assistance. The waiter seemed annoyed we sat down. All of the booths were dirty but empty. He cleaned one behind us before cleaning ours. It smelled very musty woodsy, bad. The menu was a two-sided piece of paper which stuck so bad to the table it left parts stuck. Not as many options as I remember. Of course it couldve been a bar menu. Reluctantly we still ate there plus ordered a to go order. The to go dressing didnt have a lid. I asked 3 times for a lid. After I paid, I stood at the bar to get a lid and the bartender never came back. Looked like 4 of the waitstaff were playing pool. My waiter finally walked by and asked what I needed. Still need a lid. Will not go back unless remodels and/or new management.
Ordered by phone for carryout. 2/3 of the order was wrong. No ranch given that was requested with either of the 3 items and yes, it was even on the receipt. Got 2 buffalo chicken wraps and a burger. The grilled chicken was nasty. Like they made it yesterday nasty. The chicken was gritty, chewy, dry, cold and bland. The fries were in with the wrong wrap and they were so nasty I didnt eat them. I threw half the wrap in the trash with the fries. The burger was almost ok, the fries with it were nasty. The other chicken wrap was not as bad but still not even good, the house chips were burnt.
I have been eating at Hams in Greensboro for over 20 years. I moved to High Point area. Hams Restaurant in High Point, NC...... Horrible service!!!! The manager Isaac is rude and completely incompetent. Order was wrong, food was cold and the restaurant lacked common decency and respect from the Manager. Placed a pick up order, and was told 30 mintues for food to be ready. Had to get a refund for my order after a 30 minute drive up there, and 30 minutes waiting in the restaurant. Only to get my food and the order be completely wrong! Family waiting in the car hungry! My family, my friends, and myself will "Never" return to Hams Restaurant in High Point NC again!!Sincerely Dissatisfied Customer 9-28-21
Very good food. A little short handed on staff, but thats normal these days. I only give 4 instead of 5 because we drove 60 miles to go to hams for an individuals birthday, only to find out that they had no gluten free buns, which was the main reason the individual wanted to go to hams.
My husband and I ate there on a Sunday afternoon. There was trash all over the parking lot when we got there. The doors and windows had finger smudges all over them. The bathrooms were quite dirty with no trashcan to throw away paper towels. Looked like they had not been cleaned in awhile. On the plus size the wait staff is nice and the food is good. The restaurant just needed cleaning
So, we were going to eat at Buffalo wild wings across the parking lot but decided to go to Hams instead. TBH I thought they were all closed in these parts. The patio seating is what lured us there initially. We waited 5 minutes to seize a corner spot after a party left. I had to go in & ask for the table to be cleaned & food crumbles were still there.Pro: Patio seating, decent waitress/nice personality(but inattentive), good chicken wingsCon: slow service (ordered wings/burger/fries),at 7:45/food out at 8:32). The fries were semi-hard, the brioche bun was over toasted, dry & hard. 2nd order fries did not come out just cancelled them with other food initially. My fault: I ordered mushroom/Swiss with caramelized onions on the side. The mushrooms were fried, looking at the menu to confirm if this was a mistake &&&& nope. I love mushrooms & cheese but....Being that this location is the last standing I expected more, better, but possibly libations would have tapered the foul on the food but I was sober sally. Its clearly "bar food".
The meals were fair, nothing to get excited about. Though we would stop for a quick meal , not so much. Staff was training people, more people at the hostess area than waiting on tables. Not our best experience at Hams.
i go here often and have always enjoyed the atmosphere, friendly staff, and pretty good food! (the cookie skillet is a must, the mac n cheese burger, and loaded fries or home chips!the only bad experience i had was a night ago when i ordered food and the bartender forgot about it and i didn’t get it until quite later. she also failed to ask my friends if they wanted more drinks, and by the time she came over, we wanted to leave. there were only 4 other people at the bar and she seemed to disappear frequently.. but besides this, hams is usually a pretty great place. (P.S Preston is our favorite server when we go!)
Went to pick up a to go order and as soon as we got there the host was telling a family “if you are patient you are cool to stay but if not you should probably leave.” We saw 6 families leave without being served in the time it took us to pick up our food. The thumbs and toes were overcooked, to the point you couldn’t chew large parts of them. The Cobb salad was missing half of the toppings. The ranch is still amazing!
I’m not sure Who our server was, but she was the tastiest, friendliest server I’ve ever had. She was super quick with all of our order, after ordering my drink from the bar it was at my table within 5 minutes. My daughter had an accident at the table, and she was able to get our check and boxes for our table within minutes. We will definitely be back to enjoy the outdoor bar, and exceptional service.
Reduced Menu due to Covid. Shrimp was less than flavorful. Kids meals were enjoyable for the kids. My oldest daughter ordered lemon pepper wings but the came out plain.and the kitchen closed at 10. We appreciate you all making an effort to sing happy Birthday to my Son though he fell asleep before you arrived at the Table. Nice staff clean environment
Went here on a Saturday night while every where else was packed, I should’ve used that as a warning sign, the hostess was very rude, but our waitress was very nice.... our appetizer was wrong so we had to order another. We waited an hour for our entrees and once we received them the fries were cold and the burgers were soggy from being drowned in ketchup... I noticed we were not the only one’s who were aggravated. I watched two tables walk out and leave because they never even received their drinks, and they also complained to management, but the manager didn’t seem to care. They were not busy at all so I don’t know what the deal was. This was my first time going, and I will not be returning.
Was so bad. Not only did we wait a long time for our appetizers, when we got everything cold, waited about 30 minutes for main course, ordered hamburger with no bum medium rare, got not well done but very well done and cold. Daughters chicken strips were burnt, everyone elses was cold. Manager asked what all was wrong told her and all she said was thanks for telling me have a good day. Very poor customer service. Never going back.
The Customer Service was better than the Food! I tried 2 new items..new to Me..The Spinach Dip which gets a 👍🏽👍🏽! The Chicken Philly..not so much. My Twins ordered Korean Steak Tacos...both said they just ok. The atmosphere is Family oriented, yet Hang Out with Your Friends Vibe..And apparently on Saturdays they have Live 🎶 Music.. The Mixed Drinks were good and Each Booth has a TV!
I used to order from here and get great food plus great service. Post covid-19, I placed an order in May and the order is wrong. I decide to try again and, same thing, the order is wrong. When I get my order, the girl swipes my card and throws the paper for me to sign on the counter all rolled up. She just giggles with no offer to straighten it out. When I see the order is wrong and call the manager, it takes too long for him to correct it rather unapologetically. No longer is it a good place.
This is the fish-n-chip platter (substituted broccoli for the fries). When they brought it, I questioned them to see if maybe they had made a mistake. The server promptly announced the dish was correct. I have had better cafeteria food. Service was non-existant.
Nice place to have drinks and hang out... There were too areas when we went one was 21 and older only.. They had live music and security.. Not sure if that is always or just weekends only...food was good and drinks were good just slow getting to the table... Its looks if you are there for dinner only... Its fun if you are over 21
Most of my experience at Hams is as a food delivery person. That said, I will say that while the kitchen may be a bit slow, the food was always hot, and the order was correct. The bar is a great place to hang out in, with lots is TVs showing sports. The crowd was friendly, and the bartenders were two of the nicest people. Cant wait to try the place for myself!
I only had the cookie skillet so I cant comment on the food but the dessert was amazing. Also bought a half tray of the fudge cake brownies. Yum.
Stopping in Hamms to get out of a rain storm and I find about a dozen taps with a really nice selection of local craft beers and a few national favorites as well. Tue menu has a variety of pub style items, good selection of appetizers. I had one of the salads and had to ask for a to-go box. The guy next to me got the Reuben and only could eat half. Will go back again when in this part of the Triad. Oh, and good friendly service too. Thanks
Amazing accommodating staff. Great food but the service from our server, Kaay, was just outstanding! Thanks yall!
Food was absolutely horrible. I was surprised that one is still open. The one in Charlotte been shut down a few years ago. We sent all the food back. The steak was dry flies flew all on it. The lettuce was old and brown. The potato skins was hard and burnt. The service was good. The manager handle it well. But we still were hungry. They did offer tp cook something else but we did not want to wait that long.
