Halston Hotel - in La Paz, Honduras
Never disappoints. X
One of the best restaurants in Carlisle
At Octoberfest tonight it was awful . No bratwurst sausage just cheap hotdog and no band . Waste of money and waste of my bus money
Had a lovely afternoon tea. Lots of lovely goodies to eat. Maybe too many chocolate sweets for my liking but the scones were delicious.Thank you.
Stunning appartments, absolutely immaculate with some really nice touches in the room, including some little snacks and water in the fridge, the staff were so friendly and helpful. Looking forward to planning another visit.
A nice looking hotel, and rooms quite spacious with a kitchenette and separate bedroom, but the price you pay for location, is offset by the patrons of surrounding drinking establishments emptying out and waiting at the taxi rank, right outside the hotel front door. For a quieter night ask for a room to the side of the hotel rather than the front. There is no facility for breakfast, but there are crumpets and cereal in the room, with a pint of milk in the fridge on arrival. Parking is in an adjacent carpark.
A few of us went for a meal at Penny Blue for our friends birthday. The food was excellent we all had an enjoyable time thank you x
Great evening at the Shine A Light ball 2022Lovely venue and atmosphere
We stayed in one of the apartments for the weekend. Just perfect, finished to a high standard and ideal for us as a family. We ate ate Penny Blue and it was delicious. Thank you for wonderful weekend. Definitely recommended.
Fantastic place, highly recommended, definitely be back...
Overnight stay on way up to Scotland, couldnt have picked a better hotel. Had a 2 bedroom apartment which was immaculate, had everything you would need. Staff were great, friendly and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Just called in for a few drinks had a lovely time will definitely go again for food in fact my friend booked a table for next weekend with her husband
Nice central location, nicley appointed appartment and very friendly staff, highly recommended 👌
Spacious, very clean and modern apartment. Very soundproof, complementary coffee, tea, milk, jams, cereals, crumpets. Excellent location for city centre. Our second stay here and looking forward to our third. Friendly helpful reception staff.
Terrible stay. Place is going more and more down hill every time we have come. Management has clearly changed because this place used to be nice. It’s a real shame because the building is beautiful but the staff are awful. I asked to speak to managers whilst staying and the manager I was greeted by Who was called yann started by treating us with respect however when we told him our problems he couldn’t resolve at all and ended up walking off to deal with another issue.
Really disappointed in our stay! We paid alot of money for an apartment to find we had no heating. We rang the hotel to say our room was freezing cold to be told that they didnt know how to turn the heating on. Our room was also single glazed window and the bedroom was so loud with the road noise all night we couldnt sleep. We will never stay again.
Booked an apartment for my wifes birthday and the stay was terrible. No heating as they had locked them so you couldnt turn it on, after speaking to the hotel they said they didnt know how to turn it on. The apartment was freezing and with single glazed windows the road noise ensured we didnt get any sleep. We will be making a formal complaint.
Ordered gift voucher for afternoon tea to gift to my mum for mothers day. Selected postal gift voucher rather than just the A4 email print out. Happy to pay £2.95 but when it arrived its basically the same email print out on a sheet of A4 white paper in a black envelope! No nice gift card or menu , nothing special. Bit disappointed to be honest as previously had lovely gift vouchers from Halston
From booking Afternoon Tea for Mother’s Day and subsequently having to cancel today due to Covid,Amy has been very efficient, kind and professional. she represents The Halston very well.
I have recently been a guest at halston in Carlisle and will never again be. Firstly the staff clearly do not want to be there, I can hear managers constantly shouting at what seems to be young kids when they are just learning, it isn’t on. (Some staff can be seen walking off cryingon a night I tried to leave the hotel to go for a walk and we hadn’t been told how to get out on a night and ended up trying to get out basement doors because we couldn’t find an alternative route. Every door we went through was unlocked, wine cellars and drink stores all open. How un professional. We eventually found a way out through the back door and then upon returning back to hotel we couldn’t get back in, eventually after banging on front door we were welcomed by someone who we believe was called Richard who was very rude and looked like he had just woke up. Telling us that if we wanted to go out for a walk then do it during the day. This is a stay that was a total mess. We shall not be staying again.
Place is so nice but me & my wife stayed in room 701. All good until we came home .disco underneath us was so noisy. But just thought it will stop soon .then found its a bus stop/ taxi rank. All night drunk people shouting..no way Im I paying for the night I had .
Five stars, does not give credit to this incredibly impressive hotel. It is extremely well managed by a team of highly motivated, friendly, professional and above all happy people, who obviously enjoy being of service to the hotels customers. The only hotel to visit the Carlisle countryside. Go on spoil yourselves and be treated like royalty for the weekend. 10 our of 10 is my rating .
The Halston is a high quality hotel, very close to M6 motorway yet in the centre of Carlisle .The apartment rooms are tastefully decorated and have Dualit toaster and kettle, AEG oven and dishwasher. Cereal and crumpets are provided, along with milk and butter in the fridge for breakfast. The Sunday evening saver was excellent value for money, with evening meal in the Penny Blue restaurant included.Highly recommend and definitely hope to return.
Very nice place to be for a better and quiete experience rooms are very comfortable and staff are very friendly and helpful
This hotel is excellent, location rooms cleanliness all five star just receptionist let it down she just couldnt be bothered all day.
Nice surroundings, nice staff, spoiled by much too loud music, okay if youre there to dance (no dance floorbut definitely not good or inducible to relax with a drink and actually try and have a conversation.
My 60th birthday in Carlisle, first time, and visiting my daughter at Uni, what a treat, friendly staff, really high quality accomodation, , loved it
Nice food. Vegetarian options a bit limited. Terrible music really ruined the atmosphere.
Attended a party night, having been twice before, really disappointed with food, felt like my mash had been grilled and the pavlova was awful. What a shame. Loved the garden area though.
Amazing venue. Apartments have a timeless styling beautiful proportioned. Best in Carlisle
Come here for drinks quite often, the atmosphere is always very nice and welcoming . The team is excellent especially one girl called Amy she’s always very welcoming and so friendly!
Didnt even know this was a cafe! Great place and dog friendly too. Could easily be my new favourite in Carlisle.
We stayed in an apartment which was spacious and well equipped. The negatives are - the shower is over the bath, its a good shower but you have to climb into it! And, as expected in the centre of Carlisle, there is a lot of traffic and pedestrian noise. We were lucky to get last minute appointments at the winter spa. Bethany is amazing, soft hands and a gentle touch. It was the best facial Ive ever had.
A big piece of luxury for Carlisle, the rooms are very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Good service, great location.
Just had our wedding at The Halston, can not fault the staff and venue. Everything ran so smoothly. Food was excellent. Connor , Aimee and the waiting staff were very efficient and very polite they seemed to really enjoy their jobs.We would highly recommend having a Wedding there.
A good stop over hotel. Apartments are spacious and clean with lovely little touches such as crumpets, jam, and water in the kitchen and beautiful smelling locally made toiletries in the bath room. Location is really central which was really easy to find. They gave a car park right next to the hotel so no need to worry about finding parking.
Great location with really nice restaurants and classy bars only a stones throw away. The amenities are great, and I loved the eco-friendly vegan toiletries and breakfast pack provided. Would definitely recommend staying here!
Absolutely fantastic. The building has been developed with love care and professionalism. The interior design touches are fantastic. In addition the fact thought the refurb was brand new despite being a few years old is testament to how well its clearly managed. Lovely touches with the crumpets in kitchen and quality linen.
Absolutely perfect, wonderful staff, spotlessly clean, very classy. I would absolutely recommended this wonderful place to anyone. If Im ever in Carlisle again I wouldnt hesitate to stay here.
The staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The lift works but is slow although we were on the first floor so used the stairs. The room was great and included a kitchenette and a living space as well as the bedroom and bathroom. We enjoyed the restaurant where the food was delicious and very reasonably priced.
The good:The building is very impressive, all the staff I dealt with were friendly and professional and the apartment was ace: very spacious with excellent quality well thought out furnishings and a super comfy bed. A real home from home and one of the best aparthotels Ive ever stayed in. The location is also excellent to explore Carlisle and lots of bars and restaurants nearby. The bad:We were in room 301 on the top floor and it was very warm, even through the night. The windows did open and there was a Dyson fan in one room (which helpedhowever due to the constant sound of gulls (24 hrsyou could easily be mistaken for thinking your in Whitby (no fault of the hotelbut hard to ignore when the windows had to be open to try and cool the room. The ugly:I was surprised to find that they dont offer breakfast with the room (I thought due to the hotel element of the Halston that it would have been included - especially for the price.I was even more surprised to find that parking is also not included (especially when the have there own branded car park on site - which costs £14 for 24 hours!!! We payed £220/night and at that price and with the above niggles I do think it is slightly overpriced (hence the 4 stars)I would still recommend the Halston if you are in the area just afew things to be aware of. 😊
Really good ***** hotel in Carlisle, especially for Families who are looking for a little luxury. Penthouse was extremely modern and clean. Breakfast albeit in Penny Blue, can continental and all the food was good quality. Staff friendly and good place for a quick night, although not many facilities and loud on a night outside (Hotel is outside a Taxi Rankfor £220.00 a night.
Had to cancel last minute as plans changed. Gave me a full refund even though they were entitled to keep my deposit. What fantastic service. I will not forget this hotel as a result and would book here before anywhere else next time I need a hotel in Carlisle. Special shout out to Kimberley who I dealt with.
Good hotel restaurant with nice, freshly prepared food with the kitchen open to view. The decor looks new, is interesting and well done. Staff friendly. When I visited the service was a little slow as it was busy but will definitely go again when next in the area.
Stayed here on our journey from Brighton to John O Groats. As a family of 4 we booked the 2 bedroom apartment which was simply perfect. The apartment was massive and rooms were great. Everything was very clean and immaculate. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed. The staff are VERY friendly and accommodating and made us feel welcomed at all moments of our 2 night stay.If ever passing through Carlisle we would surely stay here again. Our only problem was the noise from Dempsey bar across the road which went onward to 0200am in the morning. I hope Dempseys shuts down!!
Not our first visit and most certainly wont be our last, staying in Chiswick (townhousethe apartment was fantastic. Really well provisioned and in fact well enough so that we were able to cook for friends during our stay. Excellent service from staff throughout leaving us confident.that someone was always on hand if needed. Back again soon!!
We came to Carlisle from Preston on Sunday for our Anniversary and parked behind the Halston. As we passed we saw the board outside advertising a Sunday lunch. We called in and to our surprise was very reasonably priced, so we called on the way back and had your lovely roast beef Sunday dinner. What a superb place and meal !! really relaxed and the service was outstanding without being intimidating. Thanks to all the staff for making our anniversary a day to remember and what a great place Carlisle is to trip too.
Very elegant but a case of style over substance. My room was on the first floor and was well equipped but far too warm. I asked if anything could be done but nothing was. The hotel was on a very busy street so couldnt leave the window open. Trendy blinds at the window but gaps so light wasnt kept out.Bed comfy but duvet too warm and heavy.Expensive
We held our sons wedding here on Saturday. The venue was very modern and clean. The food was excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly. All of our guests were very impressed. The events manager Emma Slack was very professional and nothing was too much trouble for her. She helped to make the day fun, special and stress free. All in all a great day at a wonderful venue.Thank you.
Great hotel right in the centre of Carlisle. I stayed in one of the apartments, couldnt fault it. The rooms looked as if theyd been decorated the day before, bed comfy, bathroom spotless and the kitchen was well equipped. The Nespresso machine was a nice touch. Only slight downside was only one towel in the bathroom, a bit strange. Breakfast great, good bar selection, friendly staff.
