Halls Creek Caravan Park - in Halls Creek, Australia
We stayed at the caravan park in Halls Creek for over 4 weeks. We had No Problems! Yes Halls Creek has its youth problems, but if you use common sense there are no issues. Do you leave your keys in your car ignition, leave your doors unlocked of a night when your asleep in Sydney or Melbourne or Townsville? Then why do it in Halls Creek or other locations? The caravan park had security in place and are great people. The shop has to be seen to believe the stock available & the pool is great. The amenities are old but very clean! The owners are great hosts. The pub is just around the corner & meals & atmosphere are great. Thanks for the experience Halls Creek.
Really basic park but the people that run it are very helpful and kind. Must ok be extremely careful re security. Everything must be stored in the car at night and keys and wallet in the swag and kept on your person at all times. Police patrol park a few times per night. Just petty theft nothing nasty but people need to be vigilant.
Not happy at all !! Apparently she was halfway through lunch (1.30pmvery abrupt and said wait for half an hour. They lost money, I saved money. I will sleep tonight.. won’t even try again !!! 😡😡
No fence. Smart travellers free camp between Halls Creek and Fitzroy Crossing to avoid the thieving locals. Try Ngumban Cliff Rest Area
Worst park Ive ever stayed in. Greeted by 2 rude people, no grounds maintenance, filthy blocked toilets and broken showers. If hadnt needed water ,the dirty shower and a dump point I wouldnt have stayed . Thiefs everywhere in town and no secure gate . Next time I come through Ill avoid it and be more prepared for a free camp site.
Recommend using it only as a "stopover" not a "holiday destination"!Leave NOTHING outside overnight.Lock EVERYTHING and close ALL windows overnight.Facilities clean. Management very helpful.$45 a night powered site
Overcharged. $45 for 2 people and this place has nothing. Security is bad. A couple we’re sitting in their camper trailer last night when a male unzipped their door and reached in between them and stole her handbag. She was very distressed . Apparently this type of thing is a regular occurrence. Not good.
Thank you for letting us store our trailer camper overnight and grabbing those heavy duty occupants straps from your store 🙌🏽 it made our lil overnighter at wolfe creek very memorable and no stress about losing a camper trailer on the journey there.
This place is surrounded by a security fence and a high barbed wire fence, on arrival you are told not to leave Anything outside at night. My question is, why leave the front gate open then?Park is surrounded by the local indigenous peoples. Loud noise, arguments & dogs barking all night. Then you have the locals visiting in the early hours. Free camp instead.
Lady in reception was rude, park is old and run down and $45 a night!! Rip off. Felt uneasy at night
Short stay recommended. Manager and shop very helpful. Told to keep sacurity tight.
We just needed a spot to spend the night. The ammenities, though older, were certainly clean. We are a German family with 3 young children. It’s nowhere to spend a holiday, but good for some electricity and ammenities.
Worst place ever !!! Rude person in office, very abrupt. Dirty park. Needs alit of maintenance done.
If we could give a 0, We would. My husband rang about site rates and had his head bitten off by a very rude woman. $32. Unpowered and $47. PoweredHe then asked about the safety aspect of Halls Creek and was very abruptly told to ring and ask the police..We wont even consider going near the place.
$18 unpowered site, feel not safe. Extremely noisy around neighborhood at 2-3am!!No camping kitchen.Anyone know, Is this water drinking water? The owner said “any water you can drink”
We had no problems camping here the night. Went over to the Kimberley Hotel for a couple of bevvies great atmosphere 👌
Only stay if you have to! Owner is nice but very basic camp, especially for the price you pay. Woke up in the middle of the night to a torch shining through our van window and watching us sleep.
Nothing wrong with staying here. Perfectly adequate. Just a bit dusty and could be a little noisy outside at night. A beautiful, clean swimming pool a great convenience store. Sells heaps of different things including food, camping equipment and toys. Friendly staff. Ablutions block old but clean; no different from many caravan parks. Pet friendly good power and drinking water. We have stayed here several times over the years we have been travelling to Broome and will stay here again.
This is a decent park with quite dusty sites. The owners just told us to lock up our things at night, we saw a police car at night patrolling the park so this made us feel safe. It does get quite loud at night, but we still had an amazing sleep apart from being woken up sometimes. The toilets and showers were old but clean. The pool was clean and refreshing. The park has a main convenience store so you can pick up some items if needed.“Jonique Life”Follow our journey around Australia on Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube as we highlight wonderful experiences and magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.
Very nice lady and gentleman at the caravan park, ablution blocks aren’t modem but are adequate. The locals are very mischievous especially at night. The caravan park owners will give you advise on where not to park your car in the caravan park so you don’t wake to any damages caused to it by the locals, if you don’t take there advise then it should be your problem. The shop in the caravan park has heaps of stuff in there if you run short of anything. I have the joy of staying there for 22 days as our car broke down, and that’s how long it took to get fixed by the Toyota dealership.
Woman at reception has the attitude of a pitbull. Must wake up on the wrong side of the bed every single day. Facilities are dirty and half of them dont work. Dry dusty hole, avoid and move on to the next one if you can.
Very dry and dusty. Modern toilet and shower facilities closed. No hand towels or soap in the washrooms.. Very little shade. Amenities block a disgrace. Staff only too happy to take your money at $45 per night for 2 people. Staff very friendly, however. Located in noisy neighbourhood and regular Boise from the adjacent airport.. Its the only game in town so unless you really need to stop, keep on rolling!
Dont stay here unless you are really really desperate for a hot shower. The free 24 hour camp sites on the main road are far superior.I dont really blame the owner, this is just not a town where I think its a particularly good idea to camp at an open facility in the middle of town. The local hobby seems to be loud shouting until the early hours of the morning. Loud music and continuous barking from the local dogs goes on until well past the time you would rather be asleep.Dont go anywhere near the many patches of dead grass, anything that touches the grass will be filled with double G prickles, including our blow up mattress. We experienced no problems with locals picking through our belongings while we slept but according to the advice we were given and numerous reviews written here, that is a common event. Why would you stay here unless you were desperate for a hot shower? Keep driving, there are cheaper nicer places to camp down the road.
Basic but good. Its got nice clean amenities and a small pool, the reception shop has a good supply of all sorts of things. 17km to visit the site where Halls Creek used to be before it got relocated.
Even though amenities clean and tidy good water pressure only stay if you have too local kids can cause damage to vans and harrassment of visitors occur regularly.
Considering where is is, it was ok. Very noisy neighbourhood though, didnt get much sleep. Helpful, courteous management though.
Very peaceful. Quietest night sleep ive had in years.Only thing I didnt like that the boxing is only Sunday mornings.
Night stop only , great food & service at the Kimberly Hotel sports bar , bad night sleep , people running through the park ALL night , suggest give Saturday night during football season a miss or just put up with all the wanderers through the night
Very welcoming lady at the front desk and helpful. Amazing shop within the check in area. Clean amenities. Kimberley pub near by that serves food etc, we stayed in for dinner. Site was shady and serviced our needs. Pleasant stay. Slept like a log.
Only $15 a night for an unpowered site! Lots of room. Big shop at reception. Lovely unnasuming man here.
I spent a week under a tree with tent in my hour of need. M/C accident broken collarbone. The owners of the park went over and above to accommodate my needs I cannot thank them enough for the help they gave me.The neighbors are noisy at night but the park is secure and none of them were wandering about at all.Thank you for the help.
We arrived really late. It was already dark. It was really noisy from the street behind the park. I can’t sleep because I not feel really safe there. Toilets and showers are really old.
Good park. The bore water takes some getting use to.A tip dont wear any Pandora jewelry in the shower as I spoke to another camper. The bore water ruined her bracelet. The locals that live behind the park can be a bit noisy.
Great & helpful manager & staff. Clean toilet & shower. Nice swimming pool. There’s a minimarket here as well. A little bit old but ok. Just remember to stay safe & always lock your door & window.
Avoid! Biggest ripoff of over 5 weeks of travelling so far. $34 for an UNpowered site for what is essentially for a shower (no camp kitchen, nothing!did not feel safe to sleep in the tent, and felt like would have had a better nights sleep in a free camp. Just wish I had read more reviews beforehand. Do yourself a favour and don’t waste your money, find somewhere else!
Average. Clean enough but a bit run down. In the centre of town, but the locals can be loud during the night and the place didnt feel very safe. Police patrols drive through the park regularly during the night. The showers are great though.
Great base camp for the trek in to Purnululu. Good clean showers and toilets. Not much shaded camp spots. But lovely spot with lots of bird life.
Amenities are clean hot water great showers. Owners are very helpful. Very windy today so some dust but we are in the outback
We enjoyed our stay. Lovely manageress, very helpful. Has a very well equipped store. Bare dirt park as expected but with very good amenities.
Nothing special but pleasant. Showers very good. Secure park. Lots of room. Friendly owner. Park shop has everything needed. Kimberly Hotel across road. Very impressive inside. Meals good and resonably priced.
Quite spacious but you have you note Halls Creek is very short of water so dont expect grass. You will normally be able to choose your site. Friendly manager and the park is located across from the resort hotel.
This park is situated in the middle of the town, surrounded by homes with people who like make noise all night, a band was playing till very late, and when the locals were making there way home they seem to enjoy banging on the fence surroundsWith sticks or poles, as for the park itself what a joke $42 for a carpark with power, not even any security lighting, sorry not for me ever again, need to keep driving
Smallish caravan park with good medium sized sites. Lady at reception is very polite & helpful. Amenities are neat & clean, but with no hot water. Security is OK as long as you care for your own property and valuables.
Arrived on a Friday night to a virtually empty caravan park. During the night someone entered my roof top tent and stole my wallet whilst I was sleeping. I awoke to find my pants and wallet (emptied of money but with cards still insideon the bonnet of my vehicle. I had not heard a thing!! Would not recommend staying here unless everything you own is locked up safely, even then it is a scary thought that someone robbed me as I lay sleeping.
Pretty average: toilet and shower facilities worked and were clean and presentable, the park had no lawn, it did have a pool though.
Showers & toilets clean enough.Dusty & expensive at $34 for unpowered site.Music played ALL night nearby. There is no choice if you want to see the Crater & leave the van. No safe storage offered that we could find. Also warned to keep things locked up in the park. Were told of incidents that occurred to other travellers. Police do drive throughs.
Im not a fan of writing negative reviews so I hope the people who manage this business dont take offence as I know the issues r most likely due to necessity. This is not a complaint just some info for fellow travelers with specific needs. It was expensive compared to others in the other towns surrounding it. It was $35 for an unpowered site. There was no grass just bulldust and after camping out Bush for a few days it was disappointing as we couldnt even clean out our camping supplies. The water is bore water and shouldnt really be used for drinking but we werent informed of that and no signs were present. We found out about it from several other local businesses after we had already filled our water tanks. Good spot for a strictly over night stay but I wouldnt recommend any longer than that. After a 2 day trip to Wolfe creek we didnt want to go back as we camped out there free with the same facilities (minus power and water but the drop toilets were cleaner/less stained than the drop toilets and new toilets r currently being installed at wolfe creek). I wouldnt stay again due to the lack of grass and shade which in small hot towns its a big necessity for travelers. This is not a co.plaint just some honest info for fellow travelers so they can make an I formed decision about whether these things matter to them or not. The amenities were big and clean which was a large plus. Huge theft problems in the area by the locals which does happen everywhere but they even have a security guard there so it must be pretty bad. A house out the back of the property were playing loud music until late which was a bit of a disappointment in the town rather than the caravan park as there is no way they could possibly stop that kind of thing.
You are in Halls Creek Western Australia it is a very very basic caravan park it is very quiet its dirt everywhere not a patch of grass anywhere the amenities are clean and the shop at the Halls Creek caravan park has to be seen to be believed the amount of stuff they have in there is mind blowing its worth the trip just go and have a look at the shop and its very reasonably priced
As its the only caravan park in town travellers dont have a lot of options. Its a run down, dry and at $45 per night powered they should be ashamed and dont tell me its because of the remote location because we HAD to stay there for 2 nights unfortunately and neither night were there a lot of vans.Travellers are sick of being ripped off and dont stay there. They buy fuel and keep going.Wake up!
Clean and nice enough. Facilities that we used were good (laundry, showers, toilets). There is a small grass area to pitch your tent up though you cant park on the grass due to water restrictions.Would recommend staying here if you are staying in Halls creek.Halls creek itself is a bit of a hole though.
