Haew Narok Waterfall - Tourist attraction in Prachin Buri, Thailand
Beautiful waterfall and good exercise to walk from parking lots about 1 km
You will need to walk a bit but the view is worth it
Personally, I enjoyed the walk. If youre in the area. Its an easy hike if youre feeling up for it.
Amazing Thailand, Largest waterfall in Khaoyai can walk trail 1 km. to inside
Very challenging 1km from carpark to waterfall. At least 40m are of steep staircase at 60 degrees. Nit for the elderly & young kids.
One of the better waterfalls, at least for water drop and volume. Aside from the discriminatory and excessive 500 baht for foreigners to enter the park this is one of the better parks to visit, in part to see the waterfalls and the hike through a wet forest. The walk to the falls takes you down some steep stairs, but it is worth it. Definitely worth a visit, and but for the excessive fees Id go again. In addition to the falls, just the ride through the park is very nice.
Nice trekking. Be prepared to climb up down steep stairs... what a view
If visiting here, go to khao Yai national parkas well. You need to pay 500b fee to enter the road leading to haew narok and khao Yai national park.
I gave only 3 stars as there was lack of waterfalls during our visit as it was in the middle of summer. Will return again...
The haew Narok waterfall is a transliteration of the valley of hell waterfall, and that name is tragically too apt, as about three years ago, over twenty elephants perished, (jumping down the ravine), in an effort to save one calf that had fallen. As a tourist attraction, its the leading one in Khao Yai.Its free, theres a pleasant path of, I guess, 500m, ending in about four rather steep sets of steps which lead down to an observation area. Its fairly impressive, about a 90m drop, I think, and is of course best viewed in the rainy season, albeit it falls all year...
Do not waste time walking there on April. This place take around 30 minute of walking and more 100 stairs to reach the destination and you will see nothing on summer season (Feb-Apr)However, it’s very beautiful on rainy season (around Jul-Oct)
Beautiful waterfalls with 50 min walk back and forth
Beautiful path during walk to the waterfall.A bit exercise in up-down stair.
The waterfall is not wheelchair accessible since you need to go up and down a lot of stairs. However, we were able navigate the few steps downhill at the beginning and enjoy a walk through the jungle until you reach the river.
Its a long walk to the center of the waterfall but you wont regret it. By the way you should be careful on the way back because youre going to climb up hundreds of stair steps so prepare your stamina before viaiting here
20-30 minutes of walking in the wild. Well laid Concrete walkways. Last 5 mins of steep steps lest to Wonderful Waterfall. Care to be taken while walking after rain may be slippery. 16:30 will be deadline to enter the Waterfall Entry coz the Entry closes by 17:00
Nice waterfall in the rainy season. Few walking stairs on the way back. Be ready ;)
It is a great natural waterfall! But you need to watch your steps while going down and up the stairs.
Love it a 1 km walk and some steep steps at the end but well worth it.
Enjoy for green route to waterfall. Great support with concrete floor and stair along the route. Available for kid too.
Steep and quite high in each steps way down to the bottle of water fall, should wear fit! Worth visiting point!
Good and easy access through a concrete path in the forest. Challenging is only the last part with 200 stairs downwards. Problem: no water in March (end of dry season).
A really nice walk with some really steep stairs.
Very steep to climb back up. The place is great to hang around.
I enjoyed the hike and the view. The steps are slippery so better wear appropriate footwear. There could be a lot of insects too so better put on some bug repellants on before going to the falls.
The waterfall is worth to visit, but please make sure you are fit as the stair way down & up is quite steep. You could not swim there, but you might get wet due to the most, or perhaps depends on the wind direction. On the way back, a group of photographers made us realized there were little creatures along road, colourful mushrooms that are beautiful.
Waterfall is thick and beautiful due to rainy season. Be prepared to get wet and you have to climb many stairs to reach falls. You cant sit and enjoy the falls but the view is worth watching.
It’s a big waterfall we met in Thailand. The return stairs climb is sharp. It deserves you spending an hour here.
Nice little walk into the jungle, if you dare you can step of the path and walk upto the top of the fall. Sometimes theres too little water and no waterfall.
We went for a 50min return hike with 2 young kids 5 and 7 years old. The first point to get across is from the suspension bridge whose planks looked very worn out and dangerous. Try to walk fast and avoid making heavy steps to prevent the plank from breaking. After that, there are slopes and steps along the way. Once you reach the elephant point, you are approaching the toughest point of this trail. This trail is totally unstable for eldery due to the steep steps to get to the viewing platform. The step is only half a foot big and walking down requires concentration to prevent a misstep. My kids were able to complete the steps climbing without much difficulties. Take your time to walk down. The water level was average during our visit. It was still a nice and beautiful sight that we love. Although we cant swim here, the sight is worth the hike.
We had amazing experience at the waterfall. The waterfall was at full presence and it creates mist all over the place. We went down all the way and within 5 minutes we were all wet just because of the mist. It was spectacular way to connect with the nature. Most of the ppl go for few seconds afraid of getting wet, caring umbrellas and so. We found it as a fantastic way to be one with nature. Extremely recommended 😊🌿🌏
When the water is flowing, this is a lovely waterfall to visit. The walk from the carpark until about 100m from the falls viewing point is very comfortable. From that point though, there are a series of incredibly steep, small steps which are covered in slippery leaves, which could be a challenge for some visitors. Expect to take about an hour for the walk there and back including some photos.Unfortunately there is no opportunity to swim in the pools below the falls.
Unfortunately there was no flowing water when we came in May.
Long walk down hill and stairs so better be in shape. Went in the dry season so not much water falling but pretty.
This place might be slightly overrated. But probably its objective depending on which other water falls one has seen. The national park itself has many trails and if you are lucky you might even catch some wildlife.
Its a steep climb up and down stairs to see the waterfall. Not recommended for someone who is not usually active.. but a good view. Water not as much during summer..
The waterfall takes about 10-20 minutes walking. However, there are slopes up and down along the way to the waterfall. You should prepare inhaler, a fan, or a bottle of water. There are bridges and trees (the giant onethat you can stop and see along the way. The staff recommended that around October, the tide is high and the sight looks really beautiful, however, in the meantime, you wouldnt be able to take pictures as the water will be splattering everywhere even when you are on the deck. For your own safety, you should not visit the waterfall after the sunset as not only will it be closed, but there’s also limited lights along the way with the majority of the path is in the tropical forest. You are also not allowed to swim in the water or jump down into the water as the distance between the sightseeing deck and the water is very high. There are benches along the way so you can stop, take a break, then continue walking. Please stay aware of wild animals and dont make loud noise while walking as majority of the path is the forest and the officer said that wildlife randomly appears on the way from time to time..Please acknowledge the emergency contact that is on the directory. Please also note that the phone signal is really low on the way towards the waterfall.
Wheelchair inaccessible. A short trail but lots of steep stairs to get down to the waterfall. The view was impressive.
very beautiful waterfall but you should visit around oct-nov since thats when it will be at its fullest. extremely tiring to climb the steep staircases and you will most likely leave sweaty and panting so bring an electronic fan maybe!! :)
Take a short hike (from even to steep stepsto the waterfall and youll be rewarded by the view.
This waterfall is huge. It is 60 metres tall. The walk to the waterfall is easy and beautiful lush greeneries. Prepared to be wet near the waterfall or wear poncho if you dont want to be wet. It is worth to visit!
Beautiful water fall. If you really want to see full waterfall come during the month of April to July, otherwise during Nov to Jan.
Not for people with weak knees as the stairs to the lookout point are really steep.Give this route an hour or so and look where you step when crossing the bridge too as there are gaps and rusty nails due to broken planks.Had a memorable chanced encounter with a wild elephant! Thank goodness he/she didnt manage to get on the bridge. The ranger on duty did his job well keeping the visitors away.
An interesting hike of about 900m to this water fall. The last 100m was down this very steep steps to the viewing platform. Not recommended for people with walking difficulties. And the steps can be slippery at times.
Highly recommended to visit there because very famous in Khow Yai.
The waterfall is gorgeous and its an incredibly powerful jump. However, the price is 400 baht for foreigners vs 40 baht for Thai. Come on, are you serious?
You cannot swim here. All you do is walk down a bunch of incredibly steep steps to get a selfie. Maybe itd be more spectacular in the wet season. Also be aware there is an entry fee for the national Park. (Foreigners pay up to 10x more than Thai people for entry. We are talking around 20aud here (Inc carthough so its by no means big money. Its definitely worth it to go through the park though. Have a great trip.
Beautiful waterfall, but hard to go back with a long staircase, remember to bring water though it is only 1 kilometer.
Worth spend an hour to and fro for a round trip on this 1000m track to enjoy the spectacular waterfall
Beautiful huge waterfall. Prepare to get wet
