Hackberry Park in Channelview

Nice little park but sometimes the maintenance is lacking but still nice little park

As of recently the park is filthy with uncut grass making critters and mosquitoes attracted to the park. Please be careful as high grass can also attract snakes. A cleanup is needed.

Nice place to take a stroll and play at the park! Pond full of garbage.

Its an alright park with a nice lay out playground & a splash pad for the kids to enjoy in our houston hot🥵 weather🤸🏻‍♀️💦lol although, it could be better if the person in charge would cut the grass and weed on the regular to keep it nice and beautiful 🌞🌳🍃🌷🐛🦋🌱.Forgot to take pictures but wouldnt hurt to visit 🤷🏻‍♀️. HAVE A GREAT ONE✌🏼

Update June 22, 2022: this park is flooded and it hasnt even rained. You know what that means...This isnt the first time its flooded. 😒Has a splash pad for the kids. Bbq grills for cooking. A trail for walking with some shade on parts of the trail. The only thing missing is a restroom. That is always a must with kids, especially in the hot summer days when staying hydrated is essential

I like it but it doesnt have a bathroom there is one inside a exercise building but the very big man inside barely lets you use it but Im pretty sure its public if they got rid of him it would be better 😉!

The kids love the park and splash pad with pond. Just wish there wasnt so much trash laying around and floating in the water

Beautiful park but has not been cared for properly. Ponds look filthy . I feel sorry for the ducks and fish that live and swim in the water . Still great place to come get some steps in if you like to do some walking or running. Good place to bring the kids if you want to tire them . Park has great potential but has fallen short after time . City should really look into maintaining this park .

Nice park with large trail to walk. It says it’s a 70 mile trail but I highly doubt that it is that long lol. Clean tables to eat and a nice playground. Splash pad for warmer months. Clubhouse on site with workout equipment. It’s easy to sign up to use the equipment. Been coming for years and will return!!!

Old Park with Jogging 1 Mile trail and childten playground. Has one roofed picnic table with 10 unroofed picnic tables.No restrooms!

Grass is waist high and a large tree is down. Not maintained at all. I was actually cautious that there may be snakes. Part of the cement walkway was covered with high grass. Not a fun place to walk or take kids.

I liked the park, the lakes, the hills, the trails. I didnt like finding a grave next to one of the trails and finding evidence of smashed car windows at the parking lot.

A small park to escape to. Great fir just walking a lap or two, with or without a dog. Places to sit and just enjoy fresh air and the water areas.

Lots shade trees, cool , clean . I went to ck out the fishing only small 3 inch blue gills.

I usually come here for walks and I would give it a 5 star but they are not taking care of this park the grass is too high and car glass in the parking lot were something happened to somebodys car its a nice park but it needs to be taken care of.

Park needs some upkeep. The grass was long when I visited. The splash pad was not open. Feels a little neglected. Playground was satisfactory for my kids 👍

Great water pad for the kids, it has a gym , a great trail to walk , picnic area and its a clean park well kept.

. People smoking weed near the kids playground area. Water puddles everywhere therefore a lot mosquitoes those are my only complaints everythin else 3 starts not bad for a park on Alief.

Nice park ...Except: Ano public restroom facilities available..Not when we went on Sunday anyway. And BNo outside lights in the park..only in the parking lot. Pitch black in that park after dark. Hadnt planned on staying past 7 pm but time crept up and before you knew it it was dark. Was very hard to pack up and leave, not to mention the possibility of leaving things behind. Bottom line... Dont stay past 7, and plan on trips to the nearest gas station to go potty.. My first and last time going there.

Nice park. Beautiful hill full of bluebonnets. Need to be cleaned up. Alit of trash on the ground and the ponds have a lot of trash. Great park for the family.

Good place to fish if you know what your doing. This place seems to be an old gold course. There are submerged side walks and looks like the place is not very well maintained. Looks kinda ghetto thats all Im saying. Broken glasses at the parking shows signs of criminal activity. Good place to take a walk during the day but would not recommend staying towards evenings.

Public parks here in Houston and pretty horrible , not sure of the city is not really interested in maintain them , today late Feb 21 park is flooded , it looks dirty and abandoned. Funny characters around , not sure if they thought I wanted dope or anything, will never come back

Trash. Omg. This place is full of litter. People need to stop leaving trash everywhere when they have trash cans everywhere. Also someone left a pile of uncooked beans on a picnic table... Didnt even look like they tried to clean up. Kids were playing on the playground during covid 19. The best part of my visit was watching the Zumba class being held outdoors and the fact its a large park and plenty of walking space. Needs another pokemon stop or two

Love how natural beauty and ambiance of the park; especially the aquatic areas.

There is plenty to do there. Large walking trail, mini splash pad swings and a multi play scape for younger children. Ponds and picnic tables. There is also a nice size workout area indoors and classes are offered tbere as well.

Really rude park staff. My friends left their cars parked after playing and went to go to the Jack in the box and left their cars parked there cuz the park doesnt close till 7pm apparently. I saw the park attendee walking around giving them tickets at 615pm and then asked him if he planned to lock them in. He said they had 4 minutes to come get their cars because he had better things to do. Glad to know your employees are okay screwing people over so that they can get off early. Very good work ethic represented by Hebert. Hope you had fun while we are stuck waiting on a park ranger to come and open the gate. DO NOT COME HERE

Went to the park yesterday and it looked HORRIFIC. The grass needs cutting, it’s the height of my waist. Saw a lady throw rice in the pond. There is trash around the park. Whoever is in charge of doing landscaping at this park obviously needs to be fired because they are not doing their job and the City of Houston needs to hire someone that will actually do the job and actually make this park neat and presentable.

Overall nice experience. Love the wate park and gym. Also loved how the tranformation from a golf course to what it has become now took place. Only suggestion is to keep the pond more maintenanced, especially of kids accidently drop something in it example my sons football. A parent will be able to easily access it. Especially since its a no swimming allowed policy

So far so good. I really havent done an all round tour of the park grounds. I am therefore not now in a position to make a wholistic assessment.I enjoyed the very cool, fresh air in the open grounds around the lake/ pond.

Great place very peaceful and serene. I was able to meditate a whole 120 minutes without interruptions!! Cant wait for my next visit! I hope they do get a restroom soon though.

The park is a great place to walk. The ponds need to be cleaned. Its sad that the turtles have to live in all of that trash. Please put a trash can by that back fence that leads to the neighborhood. Why not just make a gate opening for them, instead of the cut open fence. It very unsightly.

Wow, I Would Have To Say This Park Is The Best...Why I Say That Is Because Theres A Playground For The Children To Play As Well As A Waterfall The Children Can Play In..Theres Also A Gym And A Track... I And My Family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Really Enjoy This Park🤗

Its a nice park, l love it, because they have a nice playground for the kids,picnic area a place to walk run or bike a ride and this park have a little gim tha its free to use they even have a room to do sumba, like l said its a great place

This is a nice little park. Lots of open space. Two trails. A playground. A splash pad. They even have an exercise gym, that looks like it is free to use. Unfortunately people dont feel the need to use the trash receptacles that are provided and all the ponds have tons of empty water bottles floating at the edge. I also question the quality of the water because there is no evidence of water birds living near them.

A little overgrown. Theres some cracks in the fencing around the park. Looks a little unkempt but it gets the job done in terms of needing to walk the dog in a park. Not everybody cleans up their dog poo, but I do. Theres a few trash cans along the path to toss trash.

This place is great. It doesnt have all the equipment other gyms may have but it can get the job done. There is a trail on the outside as well as a small area for kids to play.

Clean family fun. Water parks are such a bonus in this heat. Shade trees make it pleasant for the adults. Nice big trail for walking.

Place itself would be so much more beautiful if landscaping was taken care of and if it was kept clean. Also when I went last week there were a few black males in a white Toyota 4-runner with towels on the windshield and they were shooting up drugs. There were some men also there that work for the city of Houston, Im guessing the landscaping men because they were driving a white truck with the equipment in the back, well they were there for a few hours on there cells phones and one was even fishing!!

I love this park, the walking trail around the childrens playground makes it easy for me to walk around while I keep an eye in my 10 yr old, the fact that it has shaded areas while you walk in nice as well. Not to mention the splash pad for those extra hot days. Its very clean and the rec building has a gym in it, and you can also take Zumba classes. Perfect for birthdays!

A very nice little park in Alief area. I was surprise how nice it was. There were several ponds in the park where the kids can catch guppies. There are ducks swimming in the pond. There are lot of trees for shade. I definitely will visit this park again.

The park itself is fairly good for a small park. Theres a playground area, a water park, 2 ponds, and a wildflower site. Ducks and turtles are a frequent sight at the ponds however beware of the rare snake. Unfortunately, a fair amount of visitors are inconsiderate and leave litter all over the place.

Nice park, specially for the kids since it has a water park.

Its a pretty chill park, it has a few ponds and has a jungle gym and like a little area that spits out water for the kids to play with and it also has a gym inside it. The gym is super chill and the owner is chill also , sometimes he will even get the whole gym to get hyped up while working out and it works!

Its a nice park I enjoy the free gym and there is a bathroom inside the recreational center the staff inside is nothing to talk about but free workout equipment is good enough for me! far as car break ins thats to be expected if you leave valuables in plain view .Remember guys lock your valuables in the trunk or at least out of plain view the news casters on like every network all ways tell us this .

Although their are no restrooms,the park it self is very nice. It has the playground area. It has the water area. Also, has shade and benches for parents to sit on. Im thankful because its a place for my siblings to play and its free.
