Modest, contemporary cafe/restaurant with simple decor and a menu of Ethiopian street food.
Great spot for a delicious vegan meal in a no-frills environment. With seating in the covered market for excellent people watching. Authentic African beer with the sharing platter is a winning combination. Thanks guys, we’ll be back for sure.
Super nice food and extremely attentive service. 5 star forever , My blesses to them .
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding! Totally recommend!
Good service and nice setting, regrettably I didn’t enjoy the sharing platter or smoothie
Lovely staff & the best food! Thank you for such a great dinner (and now leftover lunch🙌
This is a nice little vegan restaurant which offers traditional Ethiopian cuisine. The mixed platter was an eating experience where a variety of delicious dishes are served on a large piece of bread made from lentils and rice. You simply break a bit of bread and take a Scoop of all of the vegan based foods. The service is good and for the untrained eye, the staff help with what is the best selection.
I love this little place! Always come here if I’m going to a gig at Brixton. Recommend getting the platter to share and then you get to try the whole menu, all delicious! Excellent service too, kind and friendly. Thank you Light of Africa! 🙏
Great food, beautiful and lively surroundings in Brixton village. Make sure to wear your thanksgiving pants because your going to need all the room.
Absolutely delicious food! We had a sharing platter for two and all the sauces were really flavoursome. Lovely staff too. Thanks so much! We’ll be back. No photos because we were too busy stuffing our faces.
the waitress gave great recommendations.
Had an amazing experience at Light of Africa. Find was delicious and the injera bread was fantastic.I reccomend going in a group and getting the share platter.Food was mostly vegan, healthy and delicious.
Its quite uncommon to eat out in London and feel youre not just eating the Anglo version of a cuisine. Food was delicious but also felt totally authentic. Please try!
WOW!!!! My first time trying Ethiopian cuisine and I don’t generally have purely vegan food, but what can I say, the food was absolutely amazing, so tasty, loads of flavours to savour in each dish, every mouthful was an experience and the service was great, very friendly. I will definitely be returning here and would recommend it to anyone, you will not be disappointed,
Very tasty vegan food. Will definitely come back :)

Great service and delicious food. The Habesha beer was also delightful
Incredible food, super friendly service. Unique experience.
I really like this place. You dont need to be a vegan or a vegetarian to enjoy the food. One can love meat and yet still be roundly satisfied by what you are served and you wont miss it.It has consistently over years delivered in quality terms and so I do not hesitate to recommend Light of Africa.
Absolutely delicious food and wonderful service! Always love trying new cuisines and left feeling fully satisfied. Would definitely recommend the sharing platter - we got to try six different mains all of which were amazing.
