Habash Ethiopian Restaurant and Bar in Jerusalem
Description
Privilege
Great Ethiopian, off the beaten path. Wonderful food and fast. Know what you’re ordering as only a little English is spoken.
MoreThis place was absolutely amazing! It was our first time having Ethiopian food and we loved it. The atmosphere was very unique and the service was great with friendly staff. My husband and I shared a vegetarian and meat plate that had an abundance of food! Very well priced and the bread is gluten free! Will definitely be going again
MoreI got food poisoning and I have been ill for the last 5 days because of this place. My whole holiday got ruined. I’m very sure it was this place because I only eat once a day and I felt bad just a couple of hours after. Also they don’t have any menus and they make you buy 1 plate each and each plate is a portion for 2 people, so you end up with too much food. The place is not clean at all. I don’t recommend it whatsoever.
MoreFilling and delicious food in a casual setting. There is an English menu and the owner speaks some English. We ordered two serves of the mixed vegetarian dish, but we probably could have eaten one between us as it was very filling. I have no idea what some of the dishes were but they were all delicious! I definitely need some practice eating with the injera because I ended up with turmeric all over my hands and my sleeve. The food was good value for money and the restaurant had a casual, friendly atmosphere, it almost felt like being in someone’s house. I would recommend this place to any vegans or vegetarians visiting Jerusalem
Moreit was delicious but after i left i understood that they took 100 shekels from me instead of 45.
MoreGreat food at reasonable prices!
Everything about this restaurant is great --> Food, Price, Service, Atmosphere! Definitely worth a visit!
MoreWe have the vegan option and it was divine! Highly recommended!
I highly recommend this restaurant! The service is good , amazing fresh food and great prices. The place itself is clean with an authentic design and music, very family friendly by the way...They maintain their quality for many years and thats why its one of my favorite places in Jerusalem.
MoreGood quality cheap food. The design of the restaurant is also very unique. I like it.
MoreIts better to live your life while knowing what this delicious food tastes like. I can only recommend it. We had the meat plate, but honestly the meat is a side character. The pancake" with delicious lentils of all kind and salad is the real deal. Go for it,if you have the chance for it!!
MoreThe meat platter is good. The vegetarian platter is excellent. Good atmosphere.
Simple menu (one dish, vegetarian or with meat), good food and nice managing :)
Love it! The vegetarian dish is my fav.
Amazing food, great atmosphere and prices. The hostess/cook is lovely and makes you feel at home.
MoreVery authentic place and foodGood prices and unique environment
Delicious and modestly priced vegetarian platter. Service is very friendly and returned a sweater a member of my party left, two blocks down
MoreBest Ethiopian restaurant in Jerusalem! The food is delicious, the atmosphere is great and the service is excellent. The house specialty is Injera, a variety of beans and lentils stews served on a giant round pancake (the pancake is called Injera). It is huge. One plate could feed a couple, but the ideal ratio is to order 2 plates for 3 people :)They accept digital payment using Bit (money transfer app), and do deliveries with 10bis
MoreI had never had Ethiopian food before and it was a delight! This place didn’t have a menu. You get two choices. Meat or veggies. We got one of each as you can see it was all so good! Eat here if you’re in Jerusalem!
MoreFood OK, very interesting! Prices are low. They only accept cash (or BIT)
A lovely spot with yummy food!! —Was having a mad injera craving tonight and this place was the perfect date spot. It’s a hidden gem in a quiet alleyway some what distant from all of the noise and people of Jerusalem. They’re also mindful of social distancing and hygiene. Really enjoyed the experience while feeling COVID-safe as we ate outside.
MoreGreat service, tasty food and at really affordable prices. There is a super chill vibe, so its also a great place to hold a conversation while enjoying a traditional 🇪🇹 cuisine.
MoreDelicious flavors and great deal
The best Ethiopian Ive been to! Super sweet owners and great food!
Havash is always a delicious and cheap experience
Amazing food (also for gluten free people like meand good people and vibes.
Very good food - for people who like it spicy! Vegan option available
Special and tasty, and no forks are used...
Friendly. Tasty. Home style. Great!!
Food was excellent and nice service as well. You eat with your hands! Large sheared plates!
MoreGreat experience. You won’t leave hungry.
Good food good prices. Its fun to share the big platters with the injera and they also have meat options and cold beer. Nice place with unique atmosphere and ambiance
MoreGreat vegan food we enjoyed it a lotVery chilled place, warm and welcoming
Best Ethiopian food I have had anywhere. They have only one thing on the menu (see picturewhich you can get with vegetables only, meat only, or a combination of meat and vegetables. I recommend the combo as the meat is a deliciously spiced beef with onions, and the vegetables are different lentils and potatoes. If you like it extra spicy, they will provide mitmita, which is an Ethiopian ground chili mixture that is good on everything. They also have beer and soft drinks. Very reasonable prices.
MoreVery interesting and good food, never had something like this before. Clear recommendation
MoreIf you havent tried injara you have missed one of the greatest adventures around, and this is one of the three places recommended
MoreVery nice place, great people, great vibe. Delicious typical Ethiopian food. Ethiopian beer for a great price in comparison to the others in Israel. Super recommend!
MoreFood was ok. Id give 3 1/2 stars if that was an option. They do have a vegetarian/vegan plate, which we ordered. It is a big portion and easily shared among two people.
MoreGreat authentic place! Very delicious food and Great served coffee!
Traditional Ethiopian food. Delicious! Some things are rather spicy. I recommend to try both the beef and the vegetarian dishes. The food is usually served on rice bread which is soft and slightly sour.Be prepared to eat with your hands. You tear off bits of bread and use them to pick up the dishes.
MoreGreat Ethiopian restaurant with wonderful vibe, nice music, fascinating decor and delicious food! Super affordable as well. A vegetarian option for two costs only 40 shekel. Will definitely be back :)
MoreOutstanding! Luckily, the other Ethiopian restaurant around the corner was closed, so we wandered into this one by mistake. The food was unusually good for Ethiopian, and quite a bit different than what Im used to. The spices seemed more intense, and the bread a bit more sour. Highly recommended!
MoreLove this place and the people who run it. Food is very good, pretty cheap, and its always open!
MoreThe best Ethiopian food Ive had in Israel. We were greeted by a nice lady who explained the menu and served us. We ordered the vegetarian option though you can also get meat or a combo. I really enjoyed the Ethiopian beer Walia. Would absolutely return here.
MoreMy family and I went there for dinner one night, looking to try out some Ethiopian food. Man, we did not know how incredible it would turn out to be! The lady was awesome, super friendly, fast service. The atmosphere was so cool and authentic. (Or at least appeared to be authentic, I am not well educated in ethiopian culture). The food arrived in roughly 6 minutes after ordering. (We had the vegetarian meal). You pick either meat or vegetarian options, and eat with your hands and the pastry pancake thing it comes on. (Again I dont know really what it is but it tastes awesome). Oh and it was 40 sheckles (around 15 Canadian Dollarsto feed 3 of us (1 teenager and 2 adultscomfortably. I recommend, no question.
MoreReally nice place and really nice people!!!! The food is great, there is a little wait but thats because the food is being freshly prepared. Highly recommended!
MoreWent to eat by myself on a local holiday. Was charged double price, because the lady somehow "innocently" thought that I wanted food that is enough for 2 people. No price was shown beforehand, and no menu is available. Was charged 100 shekels instead of 50. When I complained and demanded a printed receipt, she blackmailed me that if that was the case then she would be charging extra for water. MORE THAN THIS, I got food poisoned with it, with symptoms after just a couple of hours. Spent the next 3 days stuck in the hotel because of this. BEWARE!
MoreMost authentic traditional Ethiopian Jerusalemite turist trap. Awesome stuff.
Real great Ethiopian food. Theres no menu, only 3 options, vegetarian or meat
Very simple and very good!! The older lady there was the nicest
