HMB - Restaurant in Delfshaven, Netherlands
Really really good food and wine.
My go-to cocktail place in Rotterdam. Staff is very deft at what they do. The scenery that you wont find anywhere else in the city and the quality of the menu make it worth every penny.
Had an amazing experience today. The staff were very adept at their job and were attentive to the needs of our table. The chef and team delivered excellent menu items. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
Outstanding restaurant! Their five course menu accompanied by appropriate wines is a definite must.
We ordered the lunch menu. 50 euros with entry, plat and dessert. However the main course is only a very small piece of fish, not enough at all for lunch and not testy. Dessert is normal level. One more star for the entry.
Food good but not outstanding.. Service not very attent. We wont go back.. Theres many other places to visiti and the service way more better.
Fine dining experience ! The 5 course menu is recommended , the cod and the fillet superb!
Hidden behind the hotel (NOW Rotterdamon the waterfront is HMB, short for Hummingbird. A real nice decorated restaurant (tip upgrade the entrance and terrace to same atmosphere). A surprising big menu with enough choice. Real good quality in ingredients, with well chosen flavour combinations. Staff is a little silent - could be a little more attending. Overall definitelty a place to try.
Very good food, price is equally high.
Despite a not-so-friendly waitress, the sommelier was particularly helpful and made the experience quite nice. The food was great, as you can see
Very cosy yet trendy setting with marvelous view. Great food! Amazing cocktails! Expensive, but delivers.
The quality of the food is superb and we had a great dinner. The sweetbread is really to die for! Also we had a great selection of wines. A small portion of fries for €6 is too much, should just be included in the price. That was a bit of a disappointment. We dined here during a visit to Rotterdam, looking for somewhere special for our last night in the city. This restaurant with attractive decor and river views fulfilled our criteria. We were nicely greeted and seated in a quiet corner table.
Had a special set menu: early birds, came late, but still raced through four courses in just over an hour. Love that speed. Quality real good, without too many frills. Enjoyed and will come again. 2 persons, with special deal 85EUR, limited alcoholic drinks. Accepts Amex!
Fine dining and good food. Not to forget the nice view at the Erasmus Bridge
Cool place with view on the Erasmus bridge. Great food, wine and staff
Great culinary experience with view on one of Rotterdams landmarks. Food was refined and delicious, with friendly service to boot. I accidentally ordered the wrong wine and they had no problem pouring a different glass. Somewhat expensive, but you get the quality you pay for.
Surprising and elegant wishes, he wat service
The food was incredibly delicious and they had so many unique dishes which I really liked. I got to taste a bit of everything. They had everything labeled with vegan or vegetarian so that was fantastic- I didnt have to ask. They also had vegan pumpkin cheesecake. Yes, vegan pumpkin cheesecake. It was amazing and it tasted so much like cheesecake with milk I had to double check to make sure it was vegan after I was done eating.
Its a secret restaurant, very hard to find if you dont know this place. Once you are in, the food is fantastic, good service, expensive
Amazing taste combinations! Every dish had a a special touch with both the presentation and the used ingredients
The food is amazing especially the vinegar dessert. Will definitely come back again.
Warm and elegant place with an amazing view of the Erasmus Bridge. The food is fantastic and any dish is a different culinary experience. Also the staff deserve 5 stars, very well organized.A "must go" if you are in Rotterdam.
Very good, creative food. Calling ahead the chef prepared a very nice vegan meal to match the creative "regular" dishes. Pictures included here were the plant based dishes they prepared.
We had dinner here several times before we visited a show at the Nieuwe Luxor Theater, so we were already convinced of the qualities of this restaurant. Great and fantastic customer-friendly service and service orientation; nobody excepted. And the dinner was - as we already knew from previous experiences - convincingly culinary excellent. In short, another 10 for excellence!
Michelin class food and service! Great selection of wines to complement great food and ambience. Good for a great evening!
We had a four course seasonal menu. Every dish was very unique with its own flavours!!! Little pricey, but so worth it 👌Love the details!! Great service! We will be going here again soon 😉
Amazing. And the staff was wonderful. We had an unforgettable evening :)
Went here to celebrate my birthday. Its a nice place with a great view on the Maas and the Erasmus bridge. We ordered the four course dinner. Each course was beautifully presented. Most of it tasted quite nice. Some just lacked a little bit of taste sensations (comparing this to Michelin star restaurants). They sure put in a good effort to serve you delicious & surprising taste combinations. Kudos to the sommelier for his excellent choice of wine. The service was good but couldve been better. But all in all, a nice experience in a nice location.
The flavours generated by the 5-course tasting menu were exquisite. The five courses were interspersed with chefs surprise.
Great experience! Mixture of ingredients and tastes that I would not combine surprised me. Excellent cuisine in a very nice atmosphere with extremely high end service. Worth every penny, and definitely a do-over.
Always excellent flavours, beautifully presented. Totally consistent over many years.
Very expensive, small portions, marginal quality. Very friendly service
Mixed reactions sometimes staff is rude and sometime they are sweet need to go prepared otherwise a nice place if the staff is excellent
Extremely rude server. Great food quality. Slim menu choices and not too many items for lunch. Great setting and easy parking in the parking garage.
Good food but slow service and very noisy ambient this time.
Stopped in for lunch and well it was just perfect! I really love the style of the restaurant and how bright and light it is with the larger windows looking over the Erasmus bridge. We didn’t make a reservation but we called right before we arrived and they had a table for us. I do recall maybe a year ago I have had dinner here but the lunch was much more memorable. Service is very good, and food was also amazing. We had a bunch of bites and then main course. The tuna tataki and beef sashimi were definitely my favorite. The Iberico was good maybe a little bit too much fat on it, we didn’t finish it but it was ok. The truffle waffle with duck liver and iberico was really something I’ve never had before, and I really enjoyed the flavors together. I had the scallops which were amazing, and not a bad portion size, usually scallops are the smallest portion on the menu. The old cheeses they have with the cheese plate were some of the best I’ve had. Also the Pulled Pineapple Taco was so interesting! Really nice set up and dish and the flavors were definitely Mexican inspired, really good and not too sweet. Overall, we enjoyed our lunch here, definitely one of my favorites in Rotterdam. Also, their Rolph’s Deli down the street is amazing if you’re looking for a quicker lunch.
Great restaurant to go out for dinner. Besides the view over the Maas and Erasmusbrug, the food is fabulous. Although they do not have a Michelin star, they cook like it. The price however is like a star restaurant. So it is on the high side. If hou go there and like gin tonic, please try one of their specials. It is worth it. Enjoy!
Weve had amazing experience in this restaurant. Food was delicious, the staff was friendly and competent and we got a window table with nice view which we asked for. Recommend to everyone!
Really super menu, great wine selection. Handy location for parking and public transport...
This is near Michelin star quality food. Great chef. Maybe the FOH staff need to up their game to compete with high end places on the global stage, but nothing can take away from their down to earth friendliness. Good luck with the star!
HMB restaurant is an obliged stop (with a RSVPin the city of Rotterdam. As much as the cuisine in Rotterdam is not bad, the presentation, quality and elaboration of these dishes leave you blown away because it is unexpected. With high attention to details and the ability of mixing flavours to gain new combinations, this restaurant can easily win a Michelin star in the future.
Its insanely good! If you have some money to spend.. Go! Its an experience
Service was good and loved the extras given in between. Food was tasty, yet pricey
We shared a very elegant business dinner that included four courses. We had tuna for starters, turbot, the venison and the dessert was amazing. It is a very elegant spot with attentive staff. I would definitely recommend it although its likely to be costy.
Excellent food, excellent service. Great view and location.
We were directed to the tables close to the bar, which have very small tables and a high seat. From there you could see what was going on in the kitchen but nothing to see from the port and Erasmusbrug. Because all tables close to the window were already occupied I didnt care to complain. We had 2 bites: shrimp croquet and veal meat that could not impress us very much: small and very salty. Main dish (steak for partner, entrecot for meand dessert (ice with cream and strawberrieswere of good quality and we enjoyed very much. The organisation and service is running smoothly. Some staff were very informally dressed with t-shirts that contained text with junk food. That seemed a bit out of touch with the ambition of the restaurant.
The one star is purely based on the service, I need to add this because the chef was the only one genuinely trying his best. We had dinner here once with clients, from the moment we walked in we did not feel welcome, this wasnt just the girl that opened the door, but also the head waiter. I had the feeling the only person who cared was the chef. I would recommend going to "De Harmonie".
Best restaurant in town! Definitely.
Very very good! Great quality, in both what is served and in how its served. Upscale place but still feels nicely casual. Definitely recommended.
HMB is a very nice restaurant on the ground floor of the new Rotterdam Building in "De Kop van Zuid". Ive visited it a couple of times recently, the view of the Erasmus bridge is brilliant from the terrace. The owners are very friendly too. Definitely worth a visit.
