HILLS CARIB FLAVA in Paterson

Hands down the best Jamaican food I have ever had! I have been to several Caribbean restaurants in the Jersey area and in Caribbean neighborhoods in NY and this is the best I have ever had. I had a small order catered, I placed the order at 12:30pm and they had FRESH COOKED food ready for me by 4pm. The chef even hand delivered the goat that required more time to cook. All my guests loved the food and went back for third helpings! The chef and woman at the counter are both incredibly nice. A true gem, delicious food!

The oxtail with rice and peas and the macaroni oh my lawrddddd 😩🤤 I can eat this everyday fr and the staff are always so pleasant ☺️

when it comes to cultured food they definitely have it on lock there aren’t a lot of other restaurants with originality around this way so hills is definitely a blessing go get your ital plant based meals there too there’s so much to choose from

Finally made the trip all the way from Atlanta, GA to eat at Hills Carib Flava. Food was flavorful, tasty and very delicious. Real Jamaican cooking ina Patterson, NJ. We had the Jerk fish, steamed fish, brown stew fish. Oxtails, stew beef, bammy, festival, buoy couldnt get enough. Food was deliciously prepared and finger licking good. Oh and yes mi cant finish without saying how good the goat head soup was, feel like I was straight ina Jamaica. Thank you Hills Carib Flava for giving me and my family a fantastic time and enjoyable dinner experience!!! Cant wait to visit again!!! Karen from Atlanta!!!!!

Amazing food! Was passing by for lunch and seen the place, thought I’d try it out and was not let down!!! I went for the jerk chicken with white rice and Mac n cheese and I couldn’t have asked for more. Amazing portions and a very sweet lady taking orders.

We drive 30+ minutes each way to get this amazing food. The staff is so friendly and accommodating and everything on the menu is delicious. I’ve been eating Jamaican food for 20+ years and this is the best in the area. Aside from the entrees, try the soup, the homemade juices, the festival and the patties. I use to live near this establishment and would eat there at least once a week ... this is my first ever review and felt I had to because it is ABSOLUTELY the best Caribbean food Ive ever had hands down...sweet ladie working there always hooks me up with good portion for very reasonable price for quality taste...now I live an hour away and still only go here for my caribb food...thanks hills 👍🏻🤙💚

Im not trying to put down a small business but either the people that are leaving these reviews have no taste buds or I must have been high. Now it is a organized and clean Jamaican restaurant but I believe what they give to consumer is just a rip-off. I ordered a large oxtail meal with the rice, peas cabbage, and macaroni and cheese. The macaroni and cheese was just awful as if it was just plastic cheese baked on to macaroni noodles. For 20 something dollars they give you a whole bunch of rice and just four medium size oxtails. I dont know if this is supposed to be a Jamaican tradition or something but the oxtail was like chewing on rubber bands. I understand the price of goods have gone up in the country and it is rightfully so to raise the price up on your meals, but if you going to just give people 4 little oxtails with tough rubberband meat on it. They are very slick because they load up the platter with rice like you are a prisoner. You walk out the establishment with the container filling heavy like you know is if theres a lot of good stuff in there and then you get home and open it up only to discover that its only four oxtails. So I dont know whos leaving these great five-star reviews but to be honest it must be family or something. To be fair I gave them three stars but unfortunately I will not be back.

Love love love this place. My fiancé and I have been eating here for a little over a year never disappoints & the cook , she is such a sweetheart. Great portions & the food is 10/10. Highly recommend!

Delicious food with nice sized portions at a great price. Good selection of fresh juices. Friendly staff as well. We tried the fried snapper, jerk chicken and beef stew which was all delicious. Highly recommend this establishment!

For fresh, authentic home made Caribbean food it does not get better then this. Everything is delicious here and Hill is so warm and friendly. The curry goat, oxtail with fresh sides and soup was amazing! I cant wait to try everything on the menu

Take me to Flavortown. Great food and reasonable prices. The serving sizes are generous and the flavor is very authentic. You can see the kitchen is clean. Try the sweet potato salad. You won’t be disappointed !

Oh man the jerk chicken and ox tail. That gravy is baby brah rice and peas oh so delicate. Nice crunch from the cabbage extra baggage. 2 sweet plantains to offset all that yumminess mmmmm mac n cheese

This was some of the most delicious jerked chicken I’ve had, for a very reasonable price. Not to mention the portions are perfect. Very polite staff, they were able to accommodate all my needs. I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves traditional Jamaican food !

I love the sweet and sour chicken with the pineapple rice, I also heard about the sweet potato pie, I wanted to try it but they had ran out. I will try it the next time I go back there.

Hills Carib Flava is no ordinary Jamaican Restaurant. To say the least it isnt the average. Hills Carib Flava isnt about the sale of food more than the quality and care. Let me state how I know... I made mention to the chef that I was interested in losing weight. One day she took it upon herself to prepare my lunches (vegandaily. Cmon, which Jamaican restaurant do you know has an ital menu in the area??? ... Ill wait... Anyway, the chef goes over and beyond. Shes assisted me in my personal goal and now I can confidently say Im 30lbs down.The food is excellent, all meats are well seasoned, tender and almost falling off the bone. The chef makes a wide variety of rice other than the "norm" and tasty vegetables.I Love this place. Go check it out for yourselves👌😊

The food is great! I usually get the rice and peas, oxtails and cabbage with a beef patty. Their jerk chicken is good too. Lots of food in a meal for a good price. Staff is very pleasant.

Where do I start? The first time I went there I did not like to foof or the service, but I have heard so many great things about this restaurant that I say let me give them another chance. I am so glad I did because the food was outstanding out of this word, it was fantastic. They really took good care of me and they give me a lot of food for my money. I ordered oxtail and beans with rice and peas.The rice was undercooked. I ordered a bun and cheese and the bun expired 5 days prior. Overall it was okay (ended up eating a couple of fork fulls and throwing the rest away), but I wouldnt go again, disappointed because the reviews hyped it up so much.

My sis and I needed a quick bite to eat and someone suggested Hill’s and I’m glad we listened! My sister is not a big fan of Caribbean food but she loved this place! We had jerk chicken with rice, peas, and cabbage, and their cocoa bread. We also had a small soup. I couldn’t even finish it all! The food was finger licking good! The young lady that greeted us was so polite. We dined in and it was so cozy! This spot is really underrated and their prices are really good compared to any other spot. We had the 8 dollar serving and it was enough for both of us. Have a visit you won’t be disappointed!!!

This place is far from home but I came here because it was close to my doctors office. Had the $5 lunch curry chicken it was great! Been there twice so far and there is always 2-5 people in line or waiting for food. They all know its a great place to get some Caribbean food and I will be back again when I am in the area.

Hill fulfilled a catering order of Rice n Peas, Jerk Chicken, Goat Curry, and Oxtail. Everything was excellent! Tasty, flavorful, and pressured correct.

The owner Hillary is so pleasant and hospitable , always feel welcomed.The food is delectable and they have vegan meals too. Must call ahead 30 minutes for vegan meal preparation . Small cozy seating and $5 meals .

The area and location is beautiful and safe... Ive had a few dishes here. Stew chicken, jerk chicken, curry goat, patties, and everything has been amazing! Very fresh and very happy with the food. They take cash and card. They have VEGAN options too! The owner is actually vegan so she knows how to make it.They have a selection of dishes each day. Call ahead for vegan options. Had the Curry Goat with Peas and Rice ! It was delicious! looking forward to trying the Fish with Bammy! Went back and tried the Jerk Chicken. It was great! Also enjoyed the Pineapple Fried Rice!
