HIDE in Ḩalfāyā
Description
Privilege
Super elegant restaurant, amazing interiorsIve been there for a breakfast, and all dishes Ive ordered was so delicious I would visit HIDE every time I visit London for sure Highly recommended
MoreFood and service are very good, but not mind blowing. Octopus was well cooked but the flavours were on the boring side. Fresh baked madeleines were a highlight. The vibe is enjoyable but may be over done for some tastes. In my opinion the atmosphere is more suited for a swish dinner with drinks than for brunch (we’ve tried both - had dinner with friends on this visit).
More“Great place to Hide. Just arrived London and was lucky to get reservations. The rain is pouring down outside. Got a cozy table by the window”We where excited to experience Hide. The interior, service and food. Everything exceeded expectations alot. We where only getting a lunch. But damn we got so much delicious food and drinks. I just let the waiter recommend snacks, #1:Chicken liver parfait, fig & hibiscus chutney, toasted brioche #2:Soft-shell crab tempura with Thai basil & green peppercorns. For appetizers we had #1:Herdwick lamb tartare with sorrel, warm spices & whole wheat #2Jerusalem artichoke agnolotti in warm autumn nage, pickled hen of woods & chestnut shavings. Main courses #1Roast veal sweetbread, smoked almond praline, cooked & raw root vegetables #2Papillote of baked white beetroot, green figs, coconut milk & marigold. Had a side dish Wet polenta with parmesan & free range egg yolk and white truffle. All the food was presented beautifully and very delicious. The Veal main course is some of the best food Ive eaten!!We walked out filld with joy and content.
MoreHad the 5 course tasting menu at Above at Hide. Was an unbelievable tasting menu. The quality was amazing and the service from the staff was A*. I would 100 percent recommend. Really enjoyed the food.
MoreGreat three-course lunch menu formed at £48. Could feel the british ingredients infused well. The éclair was absolutely nice. Only had questions on the music choice in the restaurant and the training level for staff (especially who served drinks).
MoreFood was perfectly cooked. We took 5-course menu and really enjoyed. Staff there is super professional and nice. Exceptional collection of wine. It was also pleasant to get congratulations with anniversary.
MoreLocation is good, very well designed.Service is perhaps the best part. It’s rather difficult to hear the person you have in front, very close tables and no intimacy.Food is less elaborate thank it sounds, and prices are quite high for the plate itself, yet you pay the area and the space.
MoreEnigma is the best way to describe the entire experience. I’ve never loved British food and I was hoping to at least appreciate it after the meal. The experience didn’t move the needle much for me. I was surprised by the flavors but disappointed by the preparation. For example, the squid had a lot of amazing elements surrounding it but the squid itself was tough and rubbery. The highlights were the bread and the desert.
MoreWe went for breakfast, and the main food was divine. Truffle Scrambled eggs and egg royale were the best we’ve ever had for brunch, and 100% worth the price. The service was solid, though we felt just a little close and invaded by the tables either side of us. Decor is immaculate, and there is a great vibe in the restaurant too. We had a few other additions, a pastry, ricotta and some fresh fruit, all of which were good, but not worth the premium price. Drinks were also pretty good, especially the speciality teas, which we thoroughly enjoyed. I would recommend this place as a one-off, probably worth trying at least once, but not a place we will rush to go back to (for breakfast anyway!)
MoreThe food from their lunch set menu was not very impressive. Everything tasted just ok. Staff were friendly on that day. However, when I had my 2nd visit for breakfast on the other day, all the staff were very unfriendly and unwelcoming.
MoreNice staff, good food, the place is very nice! Its good but miss that little something to make the experience amazing. The signature egg is amazing, the lobster too.
MoreHad dinner on the g/f - A La Carte menu only. Savoury courses were very good however I’d probably skip the bread basket next time and order another appetiser instead.. The desserts weren’t as impressive however - acorn cake with a dark caramel and corn desserts were too sweet and the corn ice cream with the hardened corn bread was out of balance.
MoreOne of the most beautiful restaurants Ive ever experiencedExcellent service. Very high respect for guests. Innovative food. Fast service. Very delicious food. Great decor and location
MoreLovely service, well presented food and very flavoursome. Staff friendly and nice. Set lunch menu decent value for a Michelin star restaurant.
MoreIts my second time in HIDE on this review (Hide Above), first time was in Hide Ground. The foods great here, and amazing service, went here for a lunch with my bro on my birthday celebration. It definitely deserves its Michelin star.I will come back again, highly recommended this restaurant.
MoreTop notch seamless perfection attentive warm friendly cosy serviceExcellent perfect view homely cosy romantic quiet environment facing Green ParkThe tasting menu is grand long fulfilling marathon style of eating = guarantee fullEach individual dishes are very well presented very refined very well cooked or createdHowever the synchronisation harmony balance between dishes and sequence of dishes is missingIn short too contrasting between dishes a bit imbalanceAnyway it’s a great restaurant with great food and great people
MoreWhen I walked in, I was greeted by lovely hosts. I just came from the airport and was tired but they were extremely welcoming and took my luggage. Was ask greeted by name which was surprising but nice. Was given a lovely table by the window with a lot of natural light which I also really appreciated. Decor was super fun. I got the raspberry/pear juice, eggs royale and the strawberries and cream tartlette. Eggs were cooked to absolute perfection. My only qualm was the salmon. I love smoked salmon but this just didn’t smell or taste very fresh so it put me off a little bit. Everything else tasted absolutely amazing.
MoreDown to earth Michelin star restaurant. Great service, wholesome food, and a good vibe. Will be back to try the tasting menu.
MoreAlways great. We arrived slightly earlier so we were invited to have a drink at the bar downstairs. The room is beautiful and you can see the cellar and the private rooms which are amazing. We had lunch upstairs at the Above. Initially I booked the tasting menu but some members of my party didnt like duck & veal, so end up having the set lunch menu. The food was very good. I dont like much pea but the starter was amazing. I only thought the amuse bouch and starters arrived too quick. I felt a bit pressure to finish while then we waited a good 10-15m to have the main clear. I end up changing from cheeses to the peach tart as I was too full. The staff were nice and polite but only two members marked the whole experience as they transmit a natural & happy service. Everyone else seemed too serious. I love their decoration and style. I must go back to try their breakfast & afternoon tea if they still do.
MoreThe view is pretty great from the second floor by the window overlooking the park.Nice attention to details and loved the interior.Delicious non alcoholic cocktails and an overall tasty and amazing meal. Extra plusses for the sourdough bread with salad and gem sauce. Pandan leaf cream transports you straight to Asia, amazingly fresh and delicious dish. And cannot not comment on the exclusively delicate and delicious scallop with cauliflower and mushrooms, absolutely to die for.
MoreDid not try the tasting menu but still good taste with all food.Nice and beautiful vibe, and the spinning stairs.
MoreSpectacular service with eye to detail, extremely personalized without broadcasting the Michelin placement.Extraordinary quality to the food with great presentation, on an exciting journey with layers of flavor palletsPersonally, dinned at Above Hide which is the second floor and only offers tasting menu between 5-7 courses. 7 course priced at £149 per person
MoreHad dinner here with four girlfriends. The wine was good, the food was good. The staff were efficient (sometimes comes across a bit pushybut overall we had a really nice time. Not sure I would rush back here for another meal although did enjoy the evening.
MoreGreat Brunch place.. lovely ambience and easy on the pocket.Among breakfast/brunch places deserves repetition.3.8 stars
MoreI truly like their interior design!Food quality great, service ok - is really depends who serves you, my feeling is not every staff has the same professionalism to provide the same standard of service to customers in this Michelin restaurant. We had a set lunch menu, 2 cocktails lovely, a side dish broccolis yummy, cake and cheese for dessert. Quite full after eating all of them.Ahh the last thing i want to share is the bread basket is NOT free lol which is unexpected. It cost £9 when i check the bill. To be honest, we don’t care about £9, we order a cocktail there already £16.We are all accustomed to receiving a free bread basket before you order food at fine dining place, right?I didn’t see any Michelin restaurants in hong kong, who doesn’t give a free breadbasket to customers. I only hoped the waiter would tell me that breadbasket cost £9 before they putting it on the table, at least I have a choice, I probably say ‘yes i want it please’.Is it the attitude problem, I don’t like any hidden cost, not honest to customers!
MoreAbsolutely loved it! I would say it was the most delicious food what I’ve ever had! Service - amazing! Place is so stylish and cool. I’m not that posh person who can let myself to visit places like this too often. But it 100% must have place in central London! Stuff are so nice and polite and you feel comfortable in there. Highly highly recommend to visit it!
MoreWent for a quick lunch. Have heard mixed review about this restaurant. It has very nice decor with natural daylight. Some creative dishes and quite a good collection of wines. Ordered the set lunch and turned out to be better than I thought, great flavours with fresh ingredients and some twists. I enjoyed them, however the services are subpar. One of the managers was quite rude. She’s not professional and even said to me that, “I am explaining to you, this was…” It definitely didn’t make me feel welcome or worth a second visit.
MoreThe food was all very good but the atmosphere felt quite corporate and the staff felt like people going about their jobs in a very polite and professional manner but I didn’t feel much in the way of warmth or genuine enthusiasm. It’s a large place too and whilst the decor is pleasant enough, it also felt very generic, apart from the opulent wooden staircase. The vibe was oddly comparable to a high-end chain, just with outstanding food. It’d probably be a great place to take a client but I didn’t find it particularly romantic. We had a set lunch menu with matching wines, water, supplements etc, all in came to £250.
MoreWe had the lunchtime set menu with wine pairing at Hide to celebrate my husband’s birthday! The staff and service is excellent and the food was amazing… the bread and mushroom broth before the menu even started was amazing and I could’ve happily had 5 courses of that :-I really enjoyed the squid ink battered spring onion - it was delicious! The restaurant itself is beautiful and it’s a great location in central london looking out over Green Park!
MoreWe had a really special experience at Hide. The service is amazing - they remembered it was our birthdays and gave us birthday cards and a candle in the cake at the end, which was so thoughtful. Special kudos to our waiter Nicolae who was really lovely, attentive and helpful and even helped us take photos at the end!The food is pretty great. We had the bread basket (a definite must-have, I was obsessed with the butter ball), some delicious Giraffa olives and the chicken liver parfait to start. The parfait came with a good chutney that helped to break up the richness of it. My friend wasn’t a massive fan of the brioche that came with it and preferred the bread basket. For mains we had the ribeye, which came with potato pave, eschallots, bearnaise and a salad - it’s probably one of the better value items on the menu. The salad was incredibly sharp and cut through the fattiness of the meat - which was pretty fatty and tender. My favourite was the potato (my favourite is always the potato, any potato- it was crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside. We were pretty full so we shared the medovik (honey cake- I think it was cream cheese between the layers, which helped transform it into delicate sweetness instead a sugary overload. We also had fresh mint tea, which wasn’t on the menu but they were happy to help. The bill ended up being about £90pp, no alcohol. It’s not the cheapest meal but I think for the quality of the food, their attention to detail and the overall experience, it’s definitely worth it.
MoreWe had a beautiful breakfast at Michelin restaurant Hide, with the sun rising over Hyde Park. Everything tasted amazing. The kouigan amann and toasted brioche were a must and their selection of tea and coffee was fantastic! Couldn’t fault the service and prices were very reasonable. Would definitely go again!!
MoreWhat a fabulous visit to Hide. This was my third visit, twice to Below Hide where the service, wine and cocktails are first class and then yesterday for my mums 80th birthday treat to Hide for breakfast. What an amazing array of food awaited us, all topped off with a special birthday breakfast fruits, candle, chocolate message and a card from Ollie. Thank you all for making my mum feel like the most important person in the restaurant and the food and service was simply first class. Cant wait to dine at @abovehide next time.
MoreOn this occasion we are upstairs and opted for the tasting menu. As always the Tasting Menu was exceptional and the service excelled in every way. We selected some fine wines which were promptly brought down from Heddonism just up the road. Yet another of our favourite Michelin dining experiences and truly deserving of a five star review.
MoreSet lunch at Above Hide was incredible...each dish divine would fully recommend for a celebration. Staff were also amazing, right level of attentive, cocktails creative and wine list had plenty of options at variety of price points
MoreAbove the Hide. Tried goose for the first time and it’s good. Love the Dover sole. It comes with truffle which brings the taste up and at the same time it’s very tender and rich! Unique taste
MoreReally loved our dinner experience at Hide. The atmosphere was great, the food was impeccable and the service was excellent. Specially the sommelier who was just outstanding. The flavours were so fresh and complex, it was like taking a food journey. Highly recommend visiting and highly recommend signature acorn cake. A perfect date night destination
MoreTruly a great overall experience with unique dishes and wines in the tasting menu. The service and staff were friendly however, more than a few times it felt as though we were being handled by too many individuals and the flow from course to course or wine pairing was disjointed or delayed.Food was unique and delicious; presentation was beautiful and creative. Will definitely come back.
MoreAbsolutely blown away. Eaten at a lot of very good places but this was without doubt the best food Ive ever eaten. The service was also incredible. I see a second star on the horizon
MoreA la carte and wine pairing was fantastic. Wonderful cocktails at bar downstairs and great attentive service and knowledge. Its not cheap, the main are about £40 each, and its easy to rack up the costs. However, the overall experience and food was fantastic. Highly recommended for a special occasion.
MoreWe had the taster menu, and everything tasted great. However, we found the lettuce stems on ice rather odd (see picture 2 behind the main plate). The service was great, but the atmosphere could be improved. Given these prices, the restaurant felt too casual (except for the stairs). Perhaps a nice table cloth would have created a more classy atmosphere.Although we appreciated the cookies they gave us for takeaway at the end, they had a very dry and almost inedible core/filling.
MoreWe had the set lunch and it was wonderful. The venue is beautifully decorated and you can’t hear any noise from the street outside. Only slight criticism is the wine prices which in my opinion have quite a high markup (starting at around £50 a bottle). Overall a great lunch experience, thank you!
Moregreat service great food great interiors. good value set lunch. huge wine menu. lovely bread basket. what more to ask for!
MoreThe atmosphere was okay, I liked the interior of the place which I find very unique. However, it took a very long time for the food to be served (long terms between the starter, main, and dessertand something that we did not order was delivered to our table - which I suspect was a misunderstanding between me and the server (perfectly understandable). Seeing that we did not touch the dish, she promised it was on them (their mistakebut when we received the bill, the soft shell crab was sadly included. She did apologize, but I expected the service to be a bit more upscale :(
MoreI booked a private dinning for birthday celebration but every one of my guests including me had food poisoning after having the seafood (e.g. oysters). It caused us severe stomachache, vomiting and fever, which matched to symptoms of food poisoning. This fine dining costs me £1200+ for nine people and all of us get symptoms above after 24h. The only common food we had is the dinner we had in Hide. We are truly very disappointed by such a Michelin star restaurant. We asked for the evidence of fresh supply of seafood, but the management team only sent us the illness complaint form to fill without any clear explanation first. Some of our friends have also confirmed us with similar symptoms after having the food in Hide before. For such a disastrous experience, we would have given no star if this option is available.
MoreWe came here for their lunch tasting menu. The food was amazing and the service was great. The only thing I would say is that given I don’t drink wine the cocktail menu was a little disappointing. But would recommend this restaurant to foodies or someone wanting to eat at a star restaurant that has a lunch deal.
MoreGreat experience! The food is great, really loved the design of the restaurant, and the wine menu is absolutely exhaustive. The staff are all super friendly too 🙂
MoreTOTALLY LOVE IT!I had an amazing lunch at Hide. First of all, I love the name of the restaurant. Its like a secret place and you dont want anyone knowing it and as much as I would like to keep this restaurant to myself, I think they deserve the recognition. On a side note, I really wished I had spoken to the chef. Staff service, just as you walk into the door, was already impeccable. I was ushered to my table, and as I arrived, someone had already pulled the chair for me, and offered a smaller folding chair for my jacket to sit on (perhaps meant for bags, but I didnt have one). Minute details, people! It was a phenomenal five-course lunch and still have me thinking as of writing. Each bite was flavourful, my personal favourite were the egg nest and poached tamarillo, even the selection of breads were symphonic. It was such a calm and unrushed gastronomic spectacle with a complimentary overlooking view of the park and the busy street from (Above). Trying to take advantage of the spare time, I was able to sit for a drink at their underground bar with a special tour to their wine cellar.Perhaps their eight-course menu will be worth coming back.
MoreIt was an absolute pleasure to have lunch at Hide last weekend! It was my first visit at Hide above for a celebratory birthday lunch. We had a set lunch menu and every thing we tried was special. Starting with delicious variety of bread (some served warm 🤤), mushroom broth, fresh lettuce with interesting dip and charcuterie, for the starters we shared the beetroot rose on ricotta cheese and beef tartare - both beautifully served 😍. My favorite dish was the pork cheeks on tempura aubergine - absolutely delicious 🤩 However the biggest surprise was the amazing Zerbinati melon for the dessert. I have never tasted a melon so nice and sweet in my life. As a surprise we have also received a birthday cupcake with a candle and a birthday card which very nice😊 Finally, the beautiful interior and the staircase just add to the experience. Strongly recommend for special occasions, will definitely come back and will be happy to try Hide on the ground as well!
MoreSecond time at Hide above. Food excellent and service very slick. Love the fact you get access to the hedonism catalogue and that the mark up is surprisingly small. Not something you would normally see in a place of this calibre. Went all out with the upgraded main and cheese board. The wagyu was like nothing Ive ever tasted before. I like it here but both times Ive come out wondering what the hell happened when the bill arrived! Incredibly expensive but the experience is well worth it. Dropped a star because the sommelier wasnt very friendly and rather robotic
MoreI went to Hide Above and it was phenomenal. From start to finish the staff were very professional, attentious and friendly. The food was exceptional - the Glazed A5 Wagyu beef, violet mustard, black truffle and sparassis was the best dish I had this year. Sublime. In addition, the decor, wine pairings and the view round the Hide Above to a 10/10. Fully recommend.
