HELL Pizza in Taupo

Advertised closing time should state 8pm.a number of occasions we have phoned after 8 and where told "we close at 9, and have used all our pizza bases"

By the looks of other reviewers’ recent experiences this looks like the new way Hell serves its pizza - please stop, I don’t want to have to try and eat the pizza box. Also paid for and did not get extra toppings. Sent review via the post-order review function two weeks ago and still no reply. I guess it’ll be a cold day in hell before I ever hear from them.

Disappointed it not the first time our pizza has turned up with the box squashed and the pizza topping all over the lid. It was cold and stuck to the box

We watched our pizza sit on a bench top whilst the sides were being added. Drove 7 minutes and got home to everything super cold!

Done My order over the phone was served but a awesome well manner dudeThen was ran up by a very rude girl wanting my card payment over the phone then when it got to my 3 digit number on the back is said sorry to be rude but Ive been advised not to give this over the phone then she gave heaps of attitudeSo I offered to pay cashOnly to for her to say its paid now

I had to add cheese, dry and cold tastless pizza $ 96 salad cost $16, no veg!! Awful, bad for Taupo and very disappointed

The guy at the front was really nice to me, he even gave me two unholy donut promotions 10/10

Slowest service ever. Dont say it will be 10 minutes if it is going to be another hour. No staff member in the shop seemed to know what they were doing. No service to customers waiting. Appalling.

Very good service, they cater for the vegetarians well.

So the driver said he knocked on the door of our unit we were sitting here waiting as we were hungry I rang they said the driver was running late thats no problem I then checked the front door to my surprise there was our food the pizza was cold also ants were inside the pizza box due to it being outside so long not impressed at all waiting for management to call me back not acceptable at all hells

Really disappointed to see they are still running the shop like lock down level 3, prepaid orders only such a joke

Rude horrible service both on the phone and pick up by disgruntled staff. Having to deal with horrible service for no reason other than ordering pizzas. It is a shame that Taupos Hells pizza is such an unpleasant experience.

Terrible service, so many things on the menu not available, the guy couldnt even tell me what was available. Once the order was place, got told 25min even though they werent very busy, that turned into 40+ minutes but the food was actually okay

Great small pizza and cola wings. Got a bit cool when the delivery guys kept leaving the sliding door open.

Seems to be a particular occurrence for Hells pizza. Honestly at a point where you need to seriously consider if your workers are worth your business. Pizza wasnt even cooked like come on...

Very disappointed with tonights food and service. Ordered online at 6.50 for 8.14 delivery, the first available time, rang at 8.30 to see if there was a problem and seemed as though they hadnt even seen order. Delivery was then 10 minutes away, food finally arrived 9pm and pizza was mediocre at best and chicken tenders and fried Camembert just warm - not up to their usual standard. Customer service is very poor hardly an apology given and driver didnt say anything either! It will be a long time before I waste $50 on such poor food - Dominoes would have been better and cheaper tonight.

Pizza was decent, owner was very helpful and accommodating for my family and I while we waited inside the restaurant. 15 minute wait but a reasonably busy day during the holiday period. Overall good quality pizza and service.

Wow. It amazes me how some businesses stay in business... terrible phone manner... i had to repeat my name and address 6 times... and then they got the price wrong and wanted to charge $10 for delivery... yeah, nah... rang another pizza company.

Amazing service as always!!! Pizza was beautiful and actually put extras which made it even better! I believe it was Jay that made our order and he done wonderful!!! Pay rise needed 😁

Pretty good menu lots of sides to choose from. Lots of veggie options too.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.We ordered creator pizza’s, just about all the ingredients we choose for our pizza’s were missing and some random meats added Instead, the bases were tough and chewy and the pizza its self was tasteless. We also ordered 2 different flavoured doughnuts but they also got those wrong getting two of the same flavour. We live 20 mins from Taupo so I asked for a credit or refund which was declined instead they offered to deliver them instead, a long wait for the next ones.

Almost 2 hours waiting and still counting on my order. Had to ring 5 times to get an answer, once I did lady was rude and said they are doing all the orders for delivery at once. If you want to order for delivery... order a few days of head of time. Not happy.

It was not a good first time ecperiance with hells pizza at Taupo. From poor and sometimes rude communications to receiving soggy pizza. Shame as we had heard good things about Hells pizza which did not happen for us. Paid more for pizza but got way less satisfaction.

Absolutely loved it! I have been living in Aussie for 6 years so its been a while between HELL Pizzas and they didnt disappoint!!!

Ordered two pizzas from Taupo hells pizza last week on a wednesday, havent had for awhile, would never go back, the hygiene was appalling, guy serving was rubbing his ears, sweating, then handled the money and till, and then proceeded to go and cook the pizzas with no gloves on, appalling hygiene, what ever happened to food preparation gloves, would never go back, pizza wasnt even that nice considering the price, would of been better to get a dominos pizza for half the price, as the meat was dried and looked old and too tough to eat, wont be going back ever.

I was happy with the 50 minute wait we were advised by the website. Once they were already 10 mins late, I got a call saying the order would be another 10 mins late. Then i called the branch again once my order was 40 mins late to be told “we’re really busy.”Still waiting, over an hour late, and will never buy from this store again.

I know a lot of you already know Hell Pizzas in NZ, so I write for foreigners like me:Yes, you saw the flyers on iSites and their signs in a lot of cities. Yes, it looks tempting with this "rock" vibe. Well, yes, their prices a bit expensive for a pizza compared to the 5$ pizzas from Dominos. But here are two facts: Dominos cannot really be considered as a pizzeria, and Hell Pizzas is the best pizza chain in NZ, as Burger Fuel are the best in burgers.

They had us waiting for 3 HOURS on our food. We planned to get Hell’s and order at the website at around 730pm. When the website said delivery estimate will be 10:30pm, we called the branch to clarify as we were just going to cancel for the long wait but a girl picked up our call and said that the website is wrong and it wont take THAT long, instead it will take an hour and 30mins. After an hour and 30 minutes , we called again to follow up and she said it will take another 40 minutes. Then around 10pm, someone called saying THEY ARE ONLY GOING TO START MAKING OUR FOOD. After a few while the food finally arrived and it was TERRIBLE WITH BURNT FRIES. The black and crispy kind of burnt!!! My pork ribs also tasted like they used a thousand year old meat. THIS PLACE WILL LITERALLY TAKE YOU TO HELL. First time customer and will NEVER EVER GET HELLS AGAIN EVEN IF ITS THE LAST FOOD PLACE STANDING.

Pretty disappointed with my first experience at hell pizza. I was given a one hour wait time which is absolutely fine as it was very busy Friday night. I go to collect my order an hour later to discover that they had forgotten to make my pizza. So I said that’s fine and I had to go back to work as this was my break so I will come back once it’s ready. I then go back and they have done my order wrong again sadly. I was ok with this and given another twenty minutes to wait. By this time it had been two hours since ordering my pizza. So I return to get my pizza assured it was correct. I proceed to go to eat my pizza but discovered it had been made wrong again so they said they would re make it. three hours later and I finally get a pizza. Bit disappointed in this service as I had waited three hours and had to keep taking time out of work to collect the pizza on 5 occasions. being a local sadly I won’t visit again.

What Is there to say.! Probably the best franchise pizza around. Only concern is that the cheese sticks to your face and can be hot. Mums watch your kids.

Our first time at hells pizza, for $10 was expecting our pizzas to be a bit bigger and taste alot better too, minimal effort was obviously put into them. The unholy donuts were really rubbery and dry and had more cinnamon than chocolate they also came to us cold. Overall very disappointing, will not be trying again.

What can I say..? I love pizza from Hell! This time we tried Lust pizza with BBQ and swewt chilli sauce and ring of fire chillies..Caution...The ring of fire makes the pizza reallllyyyy spicy..But I am an Indian..So...LOL and yeah we tried the unholy donuts too. Yuuuummmm

Best fast Pizza in town, staff have a great attitude and the food is consistent fresh and tasty. They have great Gluten Free options. Go to Hell.

The Jalepeno poppers were yummy! And chicken wings with coca cola sauce was alright. We ordered the pizza with level 3 spice out of 5. I thought that would be kind of spicy, but not too bad. But it was eye watering and i downed a whole bottle of milk. It was okay, pizza was yummy, but id hate to see what level 4 hotness was. Also ordered olives on my pizza and recieved exactly 1 olive on each slice, which i found a little stingy.

Auckland hell pizza is the best pizza. I try today one pizza from Taupo branch it’s really worst one. Pizza was too much watery. Bread was good but not the top. I paid $19.50 for that it’s not that much worthy.

For months now my girlfriend and I have been wanting to try Hell Pizza after she read that they offer Quorn and dairy-free cheese.We finally made our way to Taupo on a Monday and decided to grab a late lunch right when Hell pizza opened up. We were welcomed by super friendly and outgoing staff and shown the menu. The "welcome to hell" greeting we received was super cheesy - but we all loved it. The restaurant itself is definitely more of a take-away style with only a few seats against the front window and a seating area outside (was a bit cold for July). We ordered our pizzas and an appretizer and waited outside until they were brought over.The pizza itself was pretty solid. I liked the crust, but my girlfriend was indifferent. It was definitely worth what we paid, and they didnt cheap out on the toppings. She had the Pride pizza with Quorn and I had a Cajun chicken pizza - we were both happy with what we got and slammed half our pizzas before leaving. The jalapeno bites were also super good, and I likely could have just gotten three or four servings of those and been happy! They were proper peppers stuffed with cheese - not a breaded cheesy jalapeno-flavoured lump.Although not the best pizza Ive ever had, the many toppings, great staff, and availability of Quorn and dairy-free cheese make Hell Pizza a solid choice if youre feeling pizza in Taupo!

Wow! The food here is something else. Absoloutely perfect for us as we are both vegetarian and their are so many options including quorn ! We went for the purgatory pizza with corn fritters and wedges and were not disappointed. The owner was so welcoming and nice and very helpful with our decision making. as for desert, it couldn’t get more sinful. The donuts and Ice cream are unreal and it’s all such good value for money ! Couldn’t recommend more

This is the best Hell Pizza I have ever had, I would even rank it one of the best pizzas Ive had in NZ. I asked for extra cheese and other bits and pieces and they made it perfectly and generously YUM!!

Friendly staff and good quality pizzas! Some of them were quite innovative with a mix of toppings. The salads were also quite nice.

We were well on our way to a delicious vegan pizza and pizza hat and dominos were not a viable option. we searched a bit and found hells pizza. We had a friendly guy which fulfilled all our wishes. I ordered the vegan pizza with dairy free cheese and my girlfriend ordered a vegeterian we exchanged the feta cheese with dairy free cheese which was not a problem. Only criticism is the price which was a bit expensive. but I would recommend everyone the great options and everyone who has had enough of the vegan pizzas of Pizza Hut and Dominos should stop by at Hells Pizza

Amazing pizza. The vegan and vegie pizzas are sublime. Took one star off because the girl that served us was a bit rude. When we asked how much the price differences were between pizza sizes, she just pointed at the menu and looked a bit annoyed.

Excellent, friendly service, pizzas tasty & catered for my gluten free needs! They also do a Gluten free garlic bread 😋 My partner enjoyed his thin based Mischief altogether well worth a visit thanks Hells Taupo teamHelen & Christopher will visit again!! 😁

We had to wait 40 minutes in store despite being told our order would be ready in 15. They must have forgotten our order as when it came out (after I prompted themone of the pizzas had clearly been sitting a while. Still tasted fine

Fantastic food, great service, they dropped us back at our hotel with our pizza and gave us extra mayo! Really friendly family business (as a franchise). You can also eat there. Best pizza in taupo.
