HAPA BAR & RESTAURANT - Cafe in Trat, Thailand
5 stars for the server who was working Sunday night. I think his name was Steve. Extremely professional and kind!
Great drinks and food with a very pleasant vibe. Live DJ and they play anime on the TVs. They were playing Dragonball Z which caught my attention as we were walking by and Im glad we did!
Cool place with good food, nice vibe and awesome service!
Food was great and excellent service. We got the truffled kinoko meshi and the pork belly M&C
Great food options, lively music and an awesome atmosphere (even on Sundays!). Most importantly, the staff are absolutely amazing and so welcoming! Ray made sure we were okay and safe when we were approached by a group of men, she checked in and made us feel very safe the whole night. I really appreciated her doing that. The bar manager also held our larger belongings for us while we dined and danced. Definitely recommend!
Great food and experience. We liked the Jerk chicken tacos, truffle hot stone bow thing, karage. We could probably pass on the tuna Aburi, and salad. The spicy marg was delicious.Service was good. They have a dj on Thursday when we went.
Great food, great service. They even have karaoke on Thursday evenings.
This place was very good. They had traditional dishes as well as some very interesting new things. The server was one of the best Ive had in a long time, and recommended some great drinks. Was able to sit and watch the street as well. Fun, funky place.
Went for the first time to chill and have some drinks with some friends on a Friday night. I love the vibes and atmosphere of the place. The live Dj that was on was great too which was a nice.I ordered a the Karrage chicken a little on the salty side but still enjoyed it along with their fries.
I randomly booked this restaurant for a large group for my bachelor-bachelorette party and man, this place did not disappoint. Easy to reserve with them, unique tasty menu items, relatively fair prices, and SERVICE WAS PHENOMENAL. Also ALL the staff here (servers, kitchen, and securityare so nice (and good-looking!)
If youre looking for authentic Japanese food, youve come to the wrong place! The vibes were good but I wouldnt recommend sitting by the patio because of all the dust from the road. We came during Taste of Little Italy so we got a nice view of the festival, though.Anyway, on to the food. The jerk tacos are supposed to be the highlight here but I found the meat really dry and it didnt have the characteristic tenderness or jerk spice. The spicy salmon roll was caked in mayo - tasty, but you could hardly taste anything else. The wasabi paste on the plate also had an oddly hard texture and was not spicy at all.My favorite was probably the karaage, which did not look appetizing with its anemic shape, but turned out to be pretty crispy and delicious. Next best was the wasabi caesar salad and it had the right amount of spicy kick to it.Cocktails were terribly expensive and my Hello Kitty tasted like fruit punch. I would have just opted for water.Happy hours made the prices a touch cheaper and tolerable. I would not come here outside happy hours.
Celebrated a birthday here and the staff were so attentive and courteous. They brought my friend tissues and water when she spilt ketchup on her pants. They even brought over knife and plates for us to cut and serve our own cake. ( both of which we didnt even ask - they just did it!). Would recommend going back for great fusion Asian food. Great patio space and awesome music.
Lovely place. Service is excellent and food is great. Will return for sure.
Amazing service and delicious food. Whatever Steven or Vince reccomend definitely try it is certainly worth it. Thank you for making my day.
Food is a great Japanese fusion, but the place itself is a modern restaurant/bar.
The vibe at this place is amazing. The food is okay not the best in my books but the ambiance makes up for the food. Great bar to go with friends for a great night out
The vibes and drinks at this place were really great. The DJ was playing really good music and the drinks were really good as well! As for the food, it is solid food to have with drinks but it isn’t the greatest. Ordered steak and fries and got rare steak without being asked how I like my steak and the fries were overcooked. Overall, I enjoyed this place and would come back just to chill
Great location. Food + drinks + vibes. Check out the menu.Dj playing some great tunes.
Don’t like broccoli- now I love it. Sushi ain’t my thang, volcano roll packed with crab and scallops stole my heart. The beef = butter.Plus the place is right cool. Yes we will be back
Just "Hapa-nned" to walk by this spot and the interior immediately got our attention. Really nice lighting, tables, and a great bar set up. The food was fantastic as was the service - attentive staff that seemed to enjoy the music and vibe of the place just like we did. We got the jerk chicken tacos, full sized fried chicken, cocktail shooters, and a tiramisu - such a diverse menu and it did not disappoint! We werent planning on staying for karaoke night but the vibe was just so good we couldnt leave. 100% bringing our friends here!
I’m still trying to figure out how and why this spots Saturday night DJ was soooooooo gooooooood. Great vibe and weekend chill spot. Great music. Awesome food.
Karaoke Thursdays!Great vibe and fun atmosphere. Staff are wonderful and friendly. Will definitely return!
Took a large (50+crowd here last night. The staff were amazing and got every single person seated very quickly. Food and drinks were great, and the DJ/Karaoke combo was such a good time. Thank you!
This has become my favourite bar on College. The customer service is exceptional from the security, to the waiting staff to the entertainment staff [DJ is dope]. The Manager is also great.
Nice vibe & staff but unfortunately, the food isn’t great. The sushi falls apart & the oysters taste bad…
I was in vacation in Toronto and I discovered this place Ill start by saying it was amazing the staff are so sweet and amazing, the owner was so cool the way he treated his clientele it shows you why people keep going to this place I went on Friday and returned on Saturday and planning to going there on Sunday as well. Im trying to make a move to to live in Toronto and this place will always be the place to go. #ONELOVE ❤️✌️
The service and the “vibe” of this restaurant is super nice. The DJ was playing some good music! However, the food was lacking so much flavour. Everything tasted very dry and bland. Not worth the price that you pay for.
This place is incredible, took a chance mid way through the night and couldnt have asked for anything else. The DJ was amazing! Afrobeats, dancehall, throwback hip hop and R&B. Drinks were all great, maybe not the strongest. Vibes alone give this place a 5/5. Shane sat us quickly and the rest was history, great service and great eclectic crowd.
My partner and I love this place, and weve only been once. The ambience is great, the vibe is cool, the music was good, and the most important part - the food and drinks were delicious. I could drink my weight in the hello kitty drinks.Well be back for sure!
I absolutely LOVEE the food & the vibe at Hapa! Music is always on point, the cocktails are well crafted with care & the food is just delicious 😍 A great downtown go-to! The atmosphere & ambiance is 100000% on point always. Super cute and romantic and the perfect date-night, girls-night, guys-night spot!
Great food, loved the 80s vibes, and watching One Piece fir the virst time. The staff was excellent and went above and beyond making the experience memorable. Will be going back.
A fun fusion Izakaya place with a nice little street patio and friendly service. I liked their jerk chicken taco a lot and their Russian roulette karaage. They also have chef specials and I enjoyed their rib noodle special that night.
Amazing place, went on Canada day. Trust me when I say the food and drinks are worth the price. Manager tuan was on it when it came to welcoming the guests and our waitress Gina/Jina served us so well. When it came to splitting up the bill between me and my 4 friends she didn’t make a fuss at all. Everything was served on time. Def a chill patio/indoor vibe. Would come here again soon. And recommend it to everyone! PS happa rita drink has a lovely kick to it 🥴😉
Fun spot with a decently sized patio right in the middle of Little Italy. We got a bunch of Tapas dishes to share. The Karaage and Shichimi-covered fries were quite decent. The oysters were refreshing, a good balance to the fried food. If not for the food, its still a solid spot for drinks and general vibes nonetheless. Would recommend to try if youre in the area.
I went with a couple of friends and I definitely agree with two points: super slow service and the portion size is tiny for the price (the owner says “sustainable sourcing”). The food was good but the portion is definitely not “share friendly”. I would go back for drinks but that’s about it. I had to ask my waitress a couple times about my food, they forgot about it and apologized, and I had waited over 35 minutes for my dishes at this point.
I say this is a place to drink and chill not a place to enjoy food. (Unless youre drunk)The quality of food they serve you does not match with the price. Im very disappointed in this place and it is not worth the price at all.
Super overpriced food even more expensive than authentic high end Japanese restaurants, taste is well below average. 4 tiny sriracha mayo shrimps for $20 after tax & tips??? Menu is also tiny and service is slow. The owner also has the time to come up with excuses instead of figuring out how to source products & pricing that make sense, as well as improve food quality
Excellent service, ambiance,And Vibe. Great date night spot. Must haves: watermelon infused sake, and the Wasabi rendition - caesar. Will definitely return.
Had to say the food really blew me away, a cozy space with fine details and a view of the kitchen. Everything we tried exceeded over expectations. Definitely worth the 5 stars
Decent and filling Omakase!Pub style enviroment which does not remember japanese restaurant at all but it has its own charm!Worthy trying at least once!
Did omakase menu on a quiet Tuesday evening and loved each and every menu item and the quiet ambience of the place.Sipping on a sake with four different animes playing on four screens while listening to smooth jazz may seem like much but it works probably because the anime isnt in your face and the music isnt too loud. Its actually nice and easy to have a conversation. The solo server / bartender did a fine job showing up just at the right time with each dish, being discreetly caring, and seemed to have the place totally under control. All in all, the very definition of a 5 star experience for a quiet, mid week date night.
Absolutely every dish is delectable, the plum wine is to die for, the environment is perfect, anime playingnom every screen. I love this place to bits
Great price. Food is good but some dishes are small for the price
Great experience! We used the Travelzoo voucher for the 10 course tasting menu. It was delicious and very generous servings. We were super full afterwards and very satisfied. Service was also great. Highly recommend eating here!
Hip Japanese food and cute waitresses. This place has a DJ playing in the eves and heats up!
Love this place, nice vibe in little Italy. Our server was on point she was super helpful in making menus suggestions. Edamame was a diffrent taste but I enjoyed it. I had the miso pork ishiyaki (highly reccomend). Would definitely come back here again.
Food is great - different, with its own "face". Both tunas (Avocado and Tatakiare exceptional - for the true fish lovers - dont miss this flavor and the texture. We were a bit early (around 5pm on Satand the music was oldies which we get tired off shortly, but the food quality didnt let us go. Cocktails were surprisingly non-obvious - never thought of mixing tequila with plum wine, but apparently it works great! Keep it up!
Great menu. Really unique small plates and Asian tapas. Good beer selection and sake flights. I had the ramen special. It was really good and flavorful. The atmosphere is really happening and they had a DJ come in at 10p. Definitely would come back. They have kitchen facing bar seating which looks fun.
First time visit with a friend during winterlicious. Spacious restaurants with plenty of seating. There’s seating by the bar and also lots of table seating. The lighting is dim, music is a little loud.Food was good, the portion sizes can be big for certain items. The stone rice bowl was really good. I’ll definitely be back to try the other items in the menu.Women’s bathroom only has two stalls. The waitresses are friendly and knowledgeable with the menu. Their dress code is a little distracting though 😅.
Hapa izakaya is a tamed down version of an actual izakaya. With cute Japanese tapas and fresh specials. Overrated and more like a dining experience. The presentation was fantastic. Interior warm, comforting and welcoming. The food was tasty for the most part (could have done without the beef short ribs). The special Foie Gras sushi was delightful but overpowered by the rice and oil.The service was good but mediocre. The waitresses was wearing a much too risqué blue dress showing off a little too much. And sadly, as the night went on, the Christmas DJ just started turning the music way up. So, we couldnt have a decent conversation after dinner with reindeer rap blaring.
