Gyeonghuigung Palace doesnt get nearly as much notariety as the other palaces, which is a shame because of all the history this place has to offer. This was the main royal palace for centuries, and although most of the palace was destroyed by the Japanese (like everything else herein order to make a school, the grounds here have hundreds of years of history.Maybe people skip this palace because there arent many buildings remaining, and the palace grounds are just a small fraction of what they used to be before the Japanese arrived and destroyed it. Thats their loss, because the lack of people here makes this the only one of the palaces where you can escape from the hustle and bustle of Seoul and imagine things the way they were back in the Joseon days.Much of this place was under renovation when I visited (September 2022), but it was still absolutely worth a visit

Quite and calm place to visit on weekdays, especially after lunchtime. No place in Seoul can beat the mood, but removed two stars for poor condition of restoration. After it has been built in 17th century, it used to be a large, magnificent palace, but during Japanese occupation, they destroyed most of the buildings. Also Korean government havent cared about it for decades. Have gone through sad history, but Gyeonghuigung is still waiting on its land, for glowing future days.

When it comes to gyeong bok gung, I would say one of the most beautiful palace in Korea. Actually I’ve been there for my assignment, but I can’t take my eyes off it. And if you love BTS, I’m sure that you will really like it. Although I don’t remember exactly which palace in their MV, at least here is the representative of all palaces in Korea. I hope you would enjoy your trip here.

Its a nice and quite place, there is few people so you can have a relax and peacefull time. Also there you can take good pictures without all the people around as in the another palaces.

I went there without planning. This palace is not well known compared to other palaces in seoul. It always amazes me how you can pumped up a historical place in Seoul. Gyeonghuigung is one of the main 5 palaces in Seoul. It is also known as Seogwol, literally meaning West palace. It is very quiet compared to Gyeongbokgung, which I liked so much.

The area around the palace is under construction. I think thats why the palace is not open to public

From all the big palaces in Seoul, this is definitely the most (wrongly sounderappreciated. Despite there not being an entry fee, the palace is fantastically well preserved. You get to see nice artifacts and traditional Korean architecture. The one good point of not having many visitors is the fact that you can get good photos!

A bit difficult to find compared to the 4 other palaces but worth it. No fee to visit unlike the other 4 and very few visitors. It is a bit smaller though than the other 4. Has beautiful symmetrical buildings that rise higher as you continue walking.

Seems to be the least busiest of the 5 palaces. I literally had the place to myself a few times. Which is great for photos, or just for the peace and quiet. Seems also to be the smallest of the palaces, and the least original (that is, most of it was destroyed and has been rebuilt).

Very beautiful and easy to get to via bus! We had a lovely time being here. We paid a small entrance fee which wasn’t bad at all, but I heard that if you wear a hanbok, you get to enter for free. The buildings are grand and it was fun to see all of the dresses up visitors walk throughout the grounds. This is definitely worth paying a visit!

Definitely the most disappointing and underwhelming of the 5 palaces in Seoul. Dont waste your time here unless you have already seen the other 4 and happen to be right outside with time to kill.

A nice break from the urban surroundings. A less busy palace than the other larger ones nearby. There is a walking trail that goes around the perimeter of the palace, which is short, but some parts are steep, so you can get some good exercise in. There is a soccer field behind the palace with some pull up bars. There are a few benches where you can sit in the shade. Inside the palace there is an interesting rock formation that occasionally has a stream running down. Occasionally events are held in front of the palace. Ive frequently seen couples having their wedding photos taken around the palace, which I suppose should give you some idea of how scenic it is. There is a nice view of the mountains behind Seoul from in front of the palace.

Being one of the small palaces in the downtown of Seoul, its located inside of the Kyongheegung park, of which name is the very palace. Here is also close to Gwanghwamun, and you can spend time in the history of Seoul museum.

Park around the palace is a nice and quiet place to walk around, beloved by dog owners from the neighborhood^^. The palace itself was recently restored on site of the original palace, so none of the original buildings are left. Small mountain behind the palace offers a nice view on the vicinity, especially on moonlit nights.

경희궁을 꼭 한 번 방문해보세요The palace in Seoul is a good place for recreation. Seoul is often stuffy and boring, but youll feel much better if you visit the palace. When you come to Seoul, you should visit Deoksugung Palace, GyeonghuI Palace, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Changdeok Palace. These palaces will add something special to your memory.

The palace is smaller than the others, but well preserved and quiet. The entrance is free and you can see a kings portrait and an interesting rock in the palace garden. Something different from the other palaces.
