A very busy restaurant where you can get tasty food at reasonable prices.The quality is fine. But due to rush, especially during night, the service is sometimes delayed, but served.Is a good recommendation for a solo or duo visits as well.

Each item is neatly prepared and delicious. One can take lunch and dinner with family. Also this place generally remains overcrowded. So be patience for your turn to eat.

It was very crowded when I visited there with my family so, we had to wait for the table to get free. Finally when we got one place to sit but then no one came to take the order, after calling 3 to 4 times they took the order. We ordered for the two types of paneer but they tasted exactly the same and the Naan was also not cooked properly.No menus on the table.Cleanliness was also not taken care of.No coordination between the staff.A big no to this place.

Theres no taste in food except kheer.Poor Service. But its okay for low budget foodies.

You will be offered nicely cooked pudding.The atmosphere of hospitality of Gyan Vaishnav highly depends on the staff, that is pleasant here. This place is remarkable for its enjoyable service. You will like fair prices. Most visitors are faithful to this spot because of the cool ambiance.

The staff there is not supportive....And the ambience is too hot and ia humid.I dont find cleaniness too.

Food is good but the staff behaviour is so bad they did not even offer water after half an hour of taking the seats. When we took water bottles by ourselves the staff came and asked for money and said that you need to pay before. We said we have come before and we knows that we can pay after. He insisted by saying bluntly that there is so much rush you people will take it for free. No one come even after waiting for half an hour to take food order. Very disappointed😞. Last time it did not happen.

Food is delicious but crowd management system is poor. You have to wait in long queues in peak hours. Even after giving order you have to wait almost half an hour for food to be served.

Disappointing and no taste food.Me as an American Indian chef well traveled was just a idea to give a try. Horrible missi roti,burnt matter paneer in dark black color, oily karhai paneer and gobi aloo tasteless.Naan Ok raita was watery and rotis were hard to chew on.Over all unsatisfactory ecperience.We were told to pay at cash Counter.No credit card and no online payments.Cash is easy to stuff in pillow and buy gold. Just another way of tax evasion.🇺🇸😷🙏

In continuation to my picks of places that are old town but epic, this one is a star in Kanpur. Yet it recieves only four stars from me due to the shabby look which did not add to my experience. The food on the contrary was superb. Simple.. nt heavy on ur tummy.. but delicious.. for those who dont like sweet paneer order kadhai paneer. N Arhar dal was the best.. simple tadka dal with loads of Desi ghee.. all in all Ill go back to hv food but I wish the place was cleaner.BTW.. the place was jam packed despite all odds.. so we know how good the food is 👍

One of the oldest place for North Indian food.They serve delicious kheer ....order it in advance .Place becomes too croudy at night ......So in extreme hot weather this place becomes bit tough to handle ....Speciality: dal fry,kadahi paneer, naan

This is a very famous restaurant in Gumti no 5 in Kanpur. Specially the KHEER in desert is delicious. Since it is a vegitarian restaurant hence You will get all vegetarian dishes over here. Affordable in budget and you can get packing too. Parking is a big issue as they dont have their own parking. During weekend, it is very crowded so you have to wait for your turn. As of my views, nowadays you have many options for veg food in same area, in same budget. Secondly, owner needs to do some improvement towards their services like they should provide tokens for waiting customers. Thanks🙏

Baddest experience never visit this dirty hotel the server behaviour is very bad they fight and never listen to you the serving is very bad he put my order on the plate we eat food on and fight with us when we oppose and all the hotel owner and staff abuse while opposing

Gyan Vaishnav Restaurant is an old pure vegetarian restaurant in Gumti no. 5. Their food is simple and tasty. Their price are very affordable. Shahi Panner, Baigan Bharta and Dal is very tasty. They also have parking area. They are mostly full for dining so you might have to wait for turn.

It is an iconic place serving great Indian food (North Indian stylesince 1967. Not hugely expensive but very popular with families in the evenings and businessmen during the day time. Their missi roti not to be missed. And so is the rich kheer (sweet rice puddingexperience. Theres a chatty pan wala near the entrance from the main street.Highly recommended if you like trying food places which are popular with locals.

As usual the food taste is superb but hygiene & cleanliness is a point of concern here.The cleaning cloth is repeatedly used to clean multiple steel plates etc . The management has though put a sanitisation chamber but customers dont bother to use it. No one at restaurant asks u too use it. People choose to wait for seats & lot of chaos is visible. One cant relax & eat here but no doubt veg food is too good.

Visited Gyan Vaishnav during my dinner hours with my colleagues. As it was a friday, there was no waiting time as such which used to be with other places.The vegetarian food is was yummy. We ordered paneer butter masala which was a wonderful treat. Also, Kheer was something different. The various types of Indian breads also seemed good.The drawback at Gyan Vaishnav is the seat availability. It takes around 20 minutes during peak hours at night. But it is worth just for the food.

Tasty Food ...with deshi ghee..dal is very good in taste..location is in street..near main road..affordable rate.service is good ..but menu is not available..all items is very good in taste..kheer is also devine in taste..cards is not accepted..

Good restaurant for pure vegetarian food cooked in ghee at the mid city near Gumti gurudwara at Gumti no. 5. It has a selected varieties of paneer and mix vegetable. Tandoori, missi, stuffed and lachha paratha. Kheer is a must try. I promise you that you wont stopat only one kheer after tasting that. It has a proper sitting space like any other restaurant and has 2 floors. Still during peak lunch and dinner hours, one may need to wait for 10 to 15 mins for getting a chance to sit. The serving time is very fast and serving staff is very nice. They give proper bill for what you eat including GST. Rates are very reasonable and quite affordable for class of people and food is super hygenic, fresh and good quality. So visit here for taste change from your daily routine food with family, friends or your loved ones. Worth visiting once.
