28 Lodhi Colony, Main Market, New Delhi, Delhi 110003, India, Delhi
Playful Japanese restaurant featuring colorful artwork, a sushi bar & courtyard seating.
To be honest, I did not like it at all!Food tasted horrible! May be because it was for the first time for me! But thats my experience! I tried ramen. Attaching the photos below.
Great experience, delicious food and courtesy staff, highly recommend.
Fantastic food. I loved their pork belly for starter. Ordered non veg sushis. Tuna and salmon sushis are amazing. Pork ramen is so good and satisfying. I had gin cocktails and that was also very good blend and suitable for Japanese food. The atmosphere is interesting and different. Id love to come again 🤞
Excellent food and service in a faux, cleverly done up rustic setting. The recommendations below are not adequate to describe whats available and what we ordered. Multiple visits would be required (and justified!to sample everything.Meanwhile, we started with a champagne cocktail, A Pistola and a Tokyo Spice while awaiting our food.We ordered a salmon Loni, Loni salad, nigiri sushi rolls (8 nos), prawn gyoza and were tempted by the cubed tenderloin with sticky rice all washed down with an excellent, chilled, Jumanji sake. The food was perfect and needs more visits to sample the range on the menu!............which well gladly do.If youre stuck or in two minds, leave it to the chef to mix/match/co-ordinate although its more fun doing it yourself.Take your time. Savour, dont wolf!
Very pleasurable experience with family. Great service. Awesome food and immaculate vibe. This is one for to visit if your in town.
Truly one gem of a hidden spot in Lodhi Colony. Ive had some mocktails with friends unfortunately arrived here at the closing time so didnt got a chance to try out some Japanese cuisine which is what this place is good for !
Away from Delhi 2 years come back to my favorite Japanese restaurant to discover its become Indian Japanese!! Please go back to authentic Japanese. The Sushi was already in pieces and larger in size. Grilled prawns were soaked in sauce....please we want the light Japanese touch
This Place is absolutely beautiful and offers comfortable seating. If you are into Japanese food then this place is good for you. Not recommended for those who likes only North Indian and Italian food
Excellent. The food was great, our service was great. We ate excessively and enjoyed every bit of it. The scallop sashimi was my favourite.
Authentic Japanese food ! Quick service! Great ambience. All the 🍣 are a must-try
liked it. the fare is costly. tried the sake, ramen and salmon sushi. was my first try at japanese cuisine and went well. could be visited to try out.
Great ambience, clean, and ample parking space. A great variety in menu. Absolutely a great choice. The food varieties are slightly Indian used and may not taste authentic Japanese. Still ok, decent good at good rates.
An eclectic japanese restaurant in the heart of the Lodhi Market, Guppy combines beautiful Japanese pop culture with its fantastic cuisine. An absolute must-try if you love Japanese food.
Nice place for dinning.Have 3 main separate room/space for dinning. One space for normal dinning, one space available for smoking, and one space with big tv to watch sports. The foods was tasty and delicious.
We ordered few signature dishes and was impressed with the pork belly dish. Hats off to the chef. However we were disappointed over the black rice bacon sushi which was dry and tasteless. It was a challenge to swallow it without drinking water or juice. Prices are a bit steeper in regard to the quantity as compared to other similar restaurants in the area within Lodhi colony and Khan market. I would definitely come again just for the pork belly. Would like to try the sashimi next time. Cute interiors and vibrant.
Good ambience and a range of Japanese and Korean food options. Sangrias topped with beer is something unique. Relatively expensive but good place to catch up with family and friends.
Amazing foodAuthentic JapaneseHave options for both vegetarian and non vegetarian. The interior is quiet colourful and lively.Must try vegetarian rainbow sushi and handmade vanilla ice cream with almond dipped in chocolate.
One of the finest place in terms of Japanese food , everything on menu is tempting and delicious 😋. We order sushi , Ramen , sake & Chocolate fondeau . Everything was great , very nice ambiance and it is Centrally located in Delhi . Easy to reach out from any corner of the city .
Great food with lovely and warm ambience. The hot pot is really something unique and the baked spring rolls are also amazing and the best part is that its not fried. Would definitely come again!
Its a nice small restaurant serving authentic japanese cuisine. The ambience is modern with Japanese elements thrown in between. The staff is very cordial taking all covid-19 precautions. Opted for chefs fix lunch. It gives you a good impression of Japanese food, specially for people like me who have been newly introduced to this lovely cuisine. Being a vegetarian the menu is not at all disappointing. Met the chef who was very humble and interactive. Hope to visit soon in near future and try out other dishes.
We went today for the first time, I wasn’t expecting much because of the corona situation, but the menu surprised me! We decided to order ramen & oh boy we loved it, this was a delicious slow cooked broths with nicely aldente noodles & proper nori and toppings! Only thing I wish they can just put some condiments on table, but overall polite staff, nice place & delicious food!
Cuteness overload, lovely place with Japanese concept. They serve very healthy food. Tried their miso ans mushroom soup with green salad. Soup was heavenly
Guppy means freshwater fish and I have known guppy as one of the best places to enjoy Japanese dishes. With their unusual interiors that will make you fall in love with it. The colors of the walls reminded me of my kindergarten classes and lots of memories. The place is comfortable and it has been built around the tree. As you enter you could see the tree and theres a seating area which is more of an outdoor area and the indoors are beautifully decorated. We had ordered from Guppy Set lunches where you can order from 1 main course, 1 soup, 1 sushi rolls, either rice or noodles and 1 dessert. So we had opted for -- Miso soup and Mushroom suimono( soup- my personal favourite was the mushroom suimono.- Japanese vegetable sushi roll and Non veg sushi of the day - The non veg sushi of the day was Tuna and I loved it a lot. I preferred it more than the veg one.- udon noodles with mushroom - Usually, I dont like udon noodles sauce taste but here I had finished the udon noodles. It was good.- Garlic fried rice- I enjoyed it a lot.- petit flour - Mini desserts from chefs selection which had mini red velvet, chocolate cake, matcha and fruit- chocolate ice cream was refreshing and didnt have much sweet which was the best part.
Whats the first outlet that comes to your mind when you think of Sushi, Sashimi, or Ramen? If you answered Guppy, chances are that your guess is as good as mine!Up until a few years ago, many believed that Japanese cuisine was all about raw seafood. Guppy broke this stereotype by introducing a range of delicious vegetarian food with an emphasis on freshness and quality ingredients.By focusing on veggie delights like the rock corn tempura or the chili lime dressed agedashi tofu, Guppy has very well understood the pulse of its customers! Guppy is hailed for a series of popular vegetarian dishes like the snow peas, beans, and wood ear mushroom salad in walnut dressing, the Gluten-free mushroom and asparagus gyoza, and the Karashi vegetable casserole.Personally, each time I have visited Guppy, there has been some element of surprise waiting to be unveiled ... and for that reason alone, I keep coming back for more!Presenting authentic Japanese cuisine in ways youll find intriguing and exciting, Guppys menu has potential winners like the udon noodle soup, the slow-braised pork belly, and the signature miso black cod.The brainchild of famous restaurateur AD Singh, Guppy has been developed in collaboration with JRG Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., a company that has been in the restaurant business since the 50s.At the helm of affairs in Guppys kitchen is the award-winning chef Vikram Khatri, whose culinary skills are fiercely devoted to freshness, hygiene, and technique. His offerings at Guppy are solely inspired by Japan, with bold striking flavors and emphasis on making most dishes from scratch.Wish to taste the spicy, the tangy, and the exotic all in one bite? Ask Vikram to pamper you with the all-new winter menu he has curated for Guppy. Vikrams style embodies four essential elements of cooking - harmony, tradition, wisdom, and balance.Spread over 2,200 square feet in the carpet area, Guppy comes alive like a playful wonderland in a modern setting. Ive never seen such a stunning play of colors in any other Japanese restaurant in Delhi NCR. Kudos are in store for noted designer Anshu Arora who has carefully designed every element with original custom fabrication by artists and vendors. If God is in the detail, then every piece put together by Anshu needs to be applauded, be it the ceramic rose knobs or custom-made tiles for the pillars. The use of Origami and metal to make lights was very clever I felt! Most iconography at Guppy is anime-inspired, reflecting onto the fabric, sculptures, murals, and lights. A Manga artist was hired to work on the column figures, murals, and window art. From solar-fired heart shaped tiles to lighting and fixtures, everything was custom-made and designed for Guppy. The restaurant has two distinct dining areas, a bar, and a courtyard. When you enter the big dining area, dont forget to check out the live sushi counter. Other significant attractions are the two specially sculpted metal lion fish lights, Japanese kokeshi dolls, vintage cameras, old tiffin boxes, and many more Japanese memorabilia scouted from antique shops. The beautiful courtyard has an anime-inspired sculpture, smaller tree lightboxes, a huge mural, candle lighting, and casual seating centered around a tall Frangipani tree reaching for the skies.Guppy is a comfortable, playful wonderland where every Japanese dish is a revelation. Come, experience it for yourself!
Guppy is really amazing place to have get-together with your family or friends. With beautiful decor based on japanese theme with pleasent vibes.I recommend you to try out soft shell crab sushi rolls, Black Chicken Nabe, Scottish Salman Steak and in drinks, must try their winter cocktails like Gintack and Fuji lavaAnd in dessert, must try chocolate cake and Apple and prune pie.
My new fave for Japanese. Pricey but so flavourful, fresh and delicious. Lunch sets are great value wth soup, salad, roll, and noodle or rice plus dessert! I just learned they have a Sunday Brunch for 1950inr unltd non alcoholic drinks and food, or 2500 with unltd alcoholic drinks and food. I will have to try that!! Kids brunch is approx 1450(?).
So we opted for the set lunch menu at Guppy today.First came the salad, which tasted fresh and crunchy. Next was the soup, I liked the mushroom suimono soup but not the miso soup much. Then came the sushi 🍣. The crab roll was nicer and thought California Sushi had more than required cream or Mayo in it.In main course we had Chicken Terriyaki and Sea bass fish in Lemon Butter Sauce. I loved the presentation of fish and chicken tasted nice as it well with orange Terriyaki dressing.Desert platter was disappointing though. And yes the meal was good value for money especially after using Gourmet Passport, but I didnt feel the food was that great as my expectations
Recently visited this cute colorful place. Loved the vibes of place and their unique concept of "Wave to order". Ambiance was beautiful with colorful benches & chairs. Staffs were also very humble & well-mannered.Coming to food, we tried their Miso & Mushroom Suimono Soup in out of which I liked Mushroom one the most! That wasnt much spicy in taste. Their Green Salad is a must try which had seasonal greens with japanese vinaigrette.I just fell for their Japanese Vegetable Sushi Rolls. We also tried Grilled Tofu steak with Asparagus & Stir fried Vegetables.Last but not the least - desserts, we chose Petit Four as it sound quite unique. It came up as a platter containing four different desserts & it wasnt bad though. Well, this place is quite costly but had a great time here with loads of cool photos:D
Recently i visit japanese restaurant where you can tried even vegetarian and vegan food also instead of seafood. As these days navratri going on so.. we cant eat non veg food and personally i m.pure vegetarian person.. so i always prefer veg food..Guppy is also.good place where you get so many vegetarian options in dimsum, salad, rice, sushi, maincourse and dessert.I love this place and tried so many dishes. Guppy is a japenese place located in delhi. The place serves some nice dishes and can be tried once if you like japanese food. Cheers to staff to keep that taste in all the items. Nice outlet to try food n ambience. Cheers
Delightfully quirky interiors, coupled with great food. We had a delicous chasu ramen, along with a chasu pork rice bowl. Both excellent, and large portions. And our child was given a goodie bag that she adored!
Best place to enjoy Japanese Cuisine in Delhi !! We tried their set lunch which was a brilliant experience.Started off with a brilliant Miso Soup which was followed by a healthy green salad. The freshness of the food could simply be gauged just by looking at them. Wonderfully presented. Next up was Sushi . Very authentic and superb. Taking our love for Seafood to the next level was Jumbo prawns with rice. Brilliantly presented flavorful dish along with rice. Finished with Ice cream of the day and our meal was accompanied by a virgin mojito. One of the best Meals weve had in this city, we are definitely coming back for more <3

The graffitti walls were beautiful with some amazing art work done and the ceiling had nice lighting. The seats are comfortable and its a formal fine dine in outlet. The place has a capacity of 50- 70 people. The food was totally japenese and tasted nice. We tried some 5-7 veg items and 3-4 nonveg. Every dish had a good taste baring 1-2 which were not so good. Best place for japanese food and sushi. Their hunami menu is something a must try here. They have a good variety of food and cocktails. The ambience makes it perfect for romantic dates. A must try here is the mango and tuna roll, prawn gyoza which is so juicy, prawn pirikara, their shrimp poké bowl which is really authentic and their chilled ramen.

This Cocktail will truly reminds you of of spring subtleness. Another Cocktail, which accompanied the mains was "Shinjuku Fizz". A Gin concussion with fresh gooseberry, peach schnapps, lime and tonic had sublime taste, yet bold flavours.Accompanying the Cocktails, The Grub started with two Freshly done Greens, "Beet and Artichoke Salad" comprising Marinated Artichokes and cured beets, tossed greens in a plum dressing. Both the salads had the perfect balance of textures, flavours and freshness in dressings. Going perfectly along with the Cherry Blossom seasons these salads were Plates of Fresh Art.The Sushi Bar brought best of Hanami specials on our table and I must say, they are the best in town. This is a Guppy take on the classic honey toast, glazed with buttercream, topped with honey, chocolate sauce, Macha, Chocolate and Strawberry cheesecake ice creams, wafers and chocolate honey caramel crunch. This was Sinful indulgence that just LIT the entire grub.
Guppy is one of the places who makes place in heart for their contemporary architecture and warm, bright interiors coupled with Anime theme decor. This is a Japenese restaurant with a state of art sushi bar.The informal interiors comprising a mix of Japenese and Indian artifacts, hanging lights, hanging Smileys and a vibrant ambience makes it a perfect place to celebrate food.We tried their new "hanami menu".They have curated a set menu comprising salads, sushi, ramen bowls and much more.Started with an interested cocktail which doesnt taste like a cocktail."Ninja slash" was my first choice as suggested by the knowledgeable staff, comprising soju, kiwi, yubari melon and lime.Soju is interestingly clear and colourless alcohol of Japanese origin which was added in this slush, naturally flavored by kiwi.It was something most needed in a hot may afternoon.Complimented the drink came "beet and artichoke salad"The salad was made out of fresh greens with well marinated artichokes and blanched beets. The microgreens and plum dressing made it a delight to relish.Next was "sakura wood smocked chicken wings",a very authentic, with skin preparation served with salt and best part is that its home smocked with cherry blossom wood."Kari kari sushi roll" has surprisingly crunchy Kari kari crisps in the outer layer. It has yellowtail stuffing inside."Mango and avacado cream cheese roll" is the most appealing, exotic and finest sushi not to forget mentioning the accompaniments like wasabi and galangal and fish sauce which are authentic and displayed the attention paid to finer details. The Main course was "two way grilled chicken" , "Parchment baked market fish" and some sticky rice. The two way grilled chicken had chicken roulade made from chicken breast and chicken leg pieces .The breast part was served with teriyaki sauce while leg part was served with black bean sauce along with sauteed exotic veggies. The baked fish was cut open on table, had aroma and flavor of Japanese plum, sake and was chilli glazed. Both went like hand and glove with sticky rice. The entire gastronomic affair was a treat to taste buds. The dreamy lunch ended with larger than life "Tokyo honey toast".The dessert celebrated the flavours of strawberry cheesecake ice cream, chocolate ice cream, matcha, caramel, wafers on a traditional honey toast and was glazed in buttercream.A dessert which is simply out of this world and full of flavors."Guppy" doesnt fail to surprise us with class apart service, ambience and taste which suits Indian palate too.Its going to be a frequent for its offerings and world class experience.
Guppy is one of the best Japanese restaurant in town! They are celebrating Hanami all summer long with refreshing new cocktails, salads, mango sushi, mains and desserts!I visited the place for lunch, its beautiful and colorful and located in green and peaceful Lodhi colony.Started with outstanding Beetroot and Artichoke salad in delicious plum dressing, followed by refreshing Mango Tuna Sushi and spicy n crispy prawn Pirikara accompanied with Kyoto Cutie and Sake Samurai cocktails. In the mains tenderloin slices served with veggies was out of the world! They served it with hot stone on which you can cook the tenderloin as per your liking. A must have for red meat lovers! Also had two way grilled chicken, again excellent preparation, juicy chicken in teriyaki chicken😋In dessert had the really famous raindrop! Doyou remember the craze of raindrop cake from Japan all over internet a couple of years back? Yeah ..that one is here at Guppy!
Japanese cuisine offers an abundance of gastronomical delights with a endless variety of regional and seasonal dishes. With its aesthetic of beautifully presented food and maximum use of fresh, high-quality seasonal ingredients, it’s no wonder that Japanese cuisine is so delicious and so highly prized by people around the world. One such restaurant we found in Lodhi Road main market – Guppy with plenty of Japanese food options. With the minimalist design and most comfortable seating this restaurant brings the best Japanese food to us. The unique flavours packed in the food here is full of umami. We visited during their Hanami festival and were very interested to try the cuisines from Hanami menu only which is specially curated and has very selected and perfect dishes in it. Hanami is basically Japan’s cherry blossoms festival which is celebrated to enjoy the transient beauty of flowers. This special menu is available all throughout the summers. From their menu we tried the following:Grilled Asparagus and Rocket Salad: Grilled Asparagus created the robust flavour in the beautiful and vibrant salad bowl.Kale and Water Chestnut Dumplings : Eaten with chilli soy ponzu sause we loved the flavour and fillings of these dumplings.Wood Smoked Chicken Wings & Prawn Pirikara : Smoked with cherry blossom wood we loved the crispiness of chicken wings. Prepared in creamy chilli bean sauce Prawn Pirikara are something to die for. A must try here.Mango & Tuna Roll : Covered with the slices of Alfanso Mango we learned how this sushi is made. Again an amazing delicacy. Two way Grilled Chicken : We got two flavours in one plating – grilled chicken legs with black pepper sauce and chicken breast with teriyaki sauce. loved both the flavours. For desserts their Honey Toast is a must try.
Guppy is a beautiful place located in the main Lodhi colony market - we visited here for the Saturday brunch celebration Hanami a Japanese tradition. The cherry blossom all around the place is divided into 3 partsPoke place, Open place and the main dining room.Started with butterscotch cold coffee with Icecream (robust and not too oversweet). The food started with salads -Beer root and artichoke salad and grilled asparagus and rocket salad to get it started. What followed after this could only be termed as a food journey through Japan.Mango and tuna roll,Mango and avocado cream cheese roll (must try),Green vegetable sushi roll,Tuna jalapeno Sushi roll - the inside out sushi.Followed by more season - Prawn Pirikara (my fav),Chilled Hiyashu Chuka ramen,Tofu asparagus steak,Parchment baked fish,Two way grilled chicken - liked the breast part more,Karachi vegetable casserole and karahi chicken and bacon casserole - were truly unique and a must try; served with rice. And lastly the Jumbo grilled prawn (exotic). The dessert was something I was waiting for from the start. The rainbow drop - a vegan dessert made with water (is a true piece of artand a must try.The Tokoyo honey toast - is just what one needs after such a lavish feast. It contains everything under the sun that is good.
My favorite Japanese restaurant in Delhi. And the Hanami special menu was like a flashback from our last Trip to Japan. food that was loaded with my favorite ingredients. Mocktail that was a slush of fresh fruit , had this musk melon and Kiwi drink and it was amazing. Normally its a cocktail but the restaurant was kind enough to make it as per me. The salad we tried Beet and Artichoke salad is the best version of beet root salad I have had so far.I. Main course the Tofu streak with fried rice was amazing. And the desert was super loaded. This festival has got some amazing menu for food and drink and I strongly suggest the Japanese food lovers to visit this place at least one while Happy Hanami Festival is on at Guppy
Visited this place for the first time and happy that we went early while very few places in Khan market were open. We had an amazing experience with their Breakfast menu. Though I am vegetarian still they had amazing vegetarian options available and for eggitatians this is definitely a must visit with the kind of options they had. . We opted for multiple Egg dishes and Anglow Royale breakfast tray. The Drinks were amazing, we tried a Anglow rejuvenation that was a refreshing mocktail and another one we tried was a Morning blast that was made with soy milk so was just perfect for me after workout. From my vegetarian options I had Oats Upma that was full of veggies and was very filling and then had Barley Porridge with lots of dry fruits. This was a bit sweet so you may take a call in case you dont have a sweet tooth. Then we wrapped our breakfast with a delicious waffle. The place is very nice spread across 2 floors and the service is amazing. Loved the food and would look forward to visit again.
Such a nice place for delicious japanese food. Lovely ambience and lively atmosphere. Visited them s place during Hanami festival and they have separate menu exclusive menu for Hanami festival.
The Summer special #HappyHanami festival is here at the japanese favourite #Guppy at the lodhi colony. The place has great pokemon interiors and soo pink that it feels you are in south east Asia. A huge seating space with great interiors, this place is usually packed and buzzing with customers. Heard a lot about their japanese cuisine and we came for a try. We tried the new hamami menu...loved the special menu for the festival with dishes like beet and artichoke salad, jumbo prawns, mango sushi and the lovely variety of dimsums on offer. The dumplings were nice snd crispy and had a great flavor to it. The salad was also sour to taste but the dressing had a nice after taste to it. The place has the best set of lunches on offer which are value for money too. There is a lot of variety.
We are in love with the place, the staff is very courteous specially chef Saurabh, he made sure that we were enjoying our food and made us comfortable, the food ambiance and crowd is just spot on,so if you’re a sushi lover this place is for you. We also ate the tiger prawns 🍤 and the seafood salad .
The food was good and the ambience and staff very good. The menu was a bit limited. Udon noodles and cubed beef were excellent, but the matcha pudding was a bit boring. Sushi and sashimi were good but not really special. The best part of the place is that its tucked away in a fairly quiet corner of Delhi.
Japanese food is very in, in Delhi NCR. We suddenly want to know more about this cuisine than just sushis and wasabi. Japanes Poke bars are a hit over the world for their taste and health benefits. However, Poke bar in Delhi is difficult to come by. Here is one that we found out for you – Guppy on Lodhi Road.
Best Japanese food in town as it has the best Chef at its tell Vikram Khatri. Must have dishes are Sushi and Pork belly. The new Pokebar is also as interesting as other things, meal in a bowl which can be customised is too good.
The theme will take u back to your childhood with japanese animes and cute furniture in pastel shades. The food had some wonderful flavors. We had miso soup, sushi rolls, chicken karage and matcha pudding for dessert. All the dishes were really well flavored
