Awesome lake with beautiful views. The water temperature was great.
Beautiful lake.. lots of space.. many campgrounds. In town has multiple choices of restaurants, and shops
I love this lake
Mine and my Harleys peace 🕊️
Great place to hang out.
Absolutely beautiful words simply cant describe it
Been on lots of lakes from New England to Florida to Texas to the Great North. This 69000 acre lake is THE most beautiful I have ever boated on, or driven around. Deep water with lots of bays and coves. Surrounded by mountains, parks, campgrounds, and a wooded shoreline that begs adventure, and now anchored by the Guntersville City Harbor with food, drink, entertainment, and access to downtown Guntersville. Wow.....
Been coming here before it was popular but most peaceful places in Alabama.
This lake has been ruined by aquatic weeds. They have destroyed this place, they are everywhere, they are relentless- you literally cannot swim in this this water anywhere near the shore. North, south, doesn’t matter. State park beach- completely destroyed, kids pulling weeds out by the bucket because there is nothing else to do. It’s disgusting and we will never return. Many other lakes in the area do not have this problem.
Great place to relax and meditate
Beautiful lake
On behalf of the Lord Jesus Christ and his great Holy Spirit we wanted to say thank you to the Father for providing such a wonderful place to fish with my family. I would also like to thank my angel,Angelica for helping me catch some fish and not get skunked. What a beautiful lake and what an amazing God that we have. And what an amazing Angel I have shes my very best friend.
Perfect for family fun! Safe option in a crazy world! Easy spots to put the boat in and out. Great little community! We will go back!

Its windy a lot of the time but its great to visit and walk the trails or just enjoy the view
Great place to stay is the lodge at lake guntersville state park. This is a picture from one of the chalets. Great price. 2 to 3 bedrooms. Also has a hotel.
visited fall 2021This lake has campgrounds, hotel lodging, and event space all within the state park. The lake itself is relatively clean and well used. The surrounding areas have restaurants and other neat businesses. Its a great place to visit or spend a weekend. Would go again.
A wonderful place to visit in a weekend. There is an artificial beach that kids will love.
Fishing guide lifetime fishermen live on lake work on it fishing instruction from beginner to professional
Amazing place to fish and spend time with family. But It’s in need of being clean. A lot of trash and old lines everywhere.
I LOVE living at Lake Guntersville! This is a hidden gem! Not only to visit, but to live. I would visit my son and his family and fell in love passing through here. So I moved here not knowing anyone. I’m now surrounded by new friends, beautiful water, beautiful nature, most of all... tranquility 🥰
Love this Lake, beautiful view from our house and best bass fishing!!!
Very nice place. The lake is very beautiful. It is about 1 hour 30 minutes Journey from Birmingham city.
Has to be one of Alabamas premier fishing spots. Very clean and well kept by the residents and city of Guntersville. The State Park there is absolutely gorgeous. Was able to see the American Bald Eagle naturally in the wild. For those that enjoy the water and beautiful scenery, this is a special place to go.
Alabama at its best! This is a very active lake and is very popular with bass fisherman.
Fishing is great at times. Lots of bass fish
Its so beautiful. Even if you dont catch anything, the beauty of this place makes it worth it.
Amazing lake. Bass fishing heaven
Great state camping with lots of rv and tent spots. Great lakefront beach. The front spots by the water do not have old trees so shade is kinda missing but if you are back in the b area you have tons of old trees
This is one of the best bass fishing lakes in the USA.....Zip line adventure is definitely a must.
Great fishing well kept good access as far as shore fishing goes for most of the lake
Love this area. A TVA dam created this in the 1930s. Check out the state park on the East side of the lake.
Greatest fishing lake in the world. Different species of bass, crappie, bream, and catfish. Some call it the greatest bass lake and I would have to agree. I enjoy getting to fish this beautiful lake on a daily basis. It also has majestic scenery. There are hiking trails near the lake and parts of the lake are perfect for skiing in the back coves. All around this lake has much to offer. Come enjoy for yourself and you will see why the locals love it so much.
As pretty as it gets in the south east. Nice town, great fishing, amazing place to raise a family.
I WILL ALWAYS LOVE THIS RIVER and ALL ITS BACKWATER. Growing up on the Laskeshore Penisula in Scottsboro, AL, LAKEFRONT, are some of the best memories. So much beauty to take in. Excellent fishing!!!
Beautiful lake! Great bass fishing! Wonderful for a weekend getaway with the family!
I love the lake. Not what it used to be. To populated! Meaning to many boats to much trash and a ton of outsiders. Thanks B.A.S.S. (see ,they discovered the large amount of Huge Bass in Gville Lake and now its Nationality known. They catch the fish here and then drive ALL THE WAY TO BIRMINGHAM to weigh-in. How many big Bass made it back home (Guntersville)???. Guess I need to thank the Mayor and previous Mayors for allowing it to happen. You have to fight off other 🦆 hunters now days. Bow fishing was ten times better twelve years ago. Our (localslake used to be a Haven. Sad to say not so much anymore. I still love my lake
Had a nice quiet stay at one of the Guntersville State Park Lodge chalets. The chalet we stayed in was clean and was supplied with pots, pans, and dishes. A king size bed was in the master bedroom and 2 full size beds in the other,Zaxbys they share a single small bath. Plenty restaurants and shopping venues are within a short drive of the park and lodge has dining options.
Nice area that offers everything for outdoor entertainment.
Great place to fish and camp. Lots of wildlife.
