Gunn's Camp - in Tsau, Botswana
Loved it
Camping here is great. I love it
Beautiful
Good service
I travel a lot in african countries and visited many bushcamps. Beside nature and wildlife, which was good - i had a very bad expierence with the staff of this camp. On the morning of our departure we went out for a bush walk and we arrived late in the camp to catch our flight to the next camp. As we both where in a hurry, we only had seconds to check our luggage and the staff asked us to rush to the airstrip. As soon as we landed in the next camp I realized, that I forgot my jacket with passport etc in the cupboard of the tent. Unfortunately the staff of the camp - house keepers and maids stole my personal belongings. Very poor! This was a very poor experience. The staff is NOT familiar and honest as they are supposed to be. Sad!
Excellente!!!
Its no exaggeration, the Okavango Delta and our stay at Gunns Camp tops my list for one of the best places I have ever stayed. What an adventure - I dont think it will ever be matched. Our stay at Gunns Camp was included as part of a tour of Southern Africa which took us through RSA, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. When we first landed in that tiny little aircraft I was worried that I was absolutely going to hate this leg of the trip. Ive done a lot of camping in my days, but while on holidays on another continent its not something I look forward to - and I was right. The tent itself is nothing special. What makes the stay is the environment and the nature youre surrounded by and the stories you come home with.Comparing it to most of the other guests who have stayed at Gunns Camp makes our trip seem tame - we came at the wrong time of the year. But we had several sightings of hippos, wild boars running through camp, bats, spiders as big as your first, snakes in the trees, it was amazing. The types of stories you dont get anywhere else. We were told that if you were lucky enough to see it that the elephants and hippos had been known to trek through camp. The service was amazing, the scenery was beautiful, the experience is something that youll never forget. All the pictures Ive added are of the scenery as that is the truly unforgettable aspect!
My favorite camp in the Delta
Luxury on the terms of nature. The people who work there are very competent and friendly. They are glad to welcome you as their guest.
