Temple Walk, Matlock Bath DE4 3PG, Leek
Theme park aimed at children aged 2-13, with rides, attractions dinosaur area and family discounts.
Fab place, we had such a great time here, stayed over entertainment was good, Ash was great! Saw him a lot throughout our time there.. On the evening after the entertainment ended with bonfire and toasted marshmallows, was so perfect. All the staff are lovely friendly and the place is certainly good value for money! I am definitely returning!
Excellent experience for the whole family ☺️ 🎡🎢🎠 built into the hillside in Matlock bath, it certainly is the strangest set up for a theme park that Ive ever seen. The parking is set on a variety of levels up a steep hill. The main entrance is set on level 3. Staff were so friendly, enthusiastic and professional, getting the kids to join in the fun going above and beyond.Theme park 🏞️ set up for younger kids up to ages 13-14, there are no big fast rides, but fantastic for the younger ones. There were no queues for any of the rides it was an excellent day! The kids went on every ride in the whole park it was awesome 😊 such a great day!Prices were very reasonable £15 booking online and £9 for concessions. Parking is free!Seriously recommend this place, its so quirky its well worth a visit!
A fun day out on grandparents weekend. The grandchildren loved it. They dont notice that its looking old and a little unloved. A touch of paint here and there would not go amiss.
Best theme park with beautiful views. On a hill so lots of walking and rides are great for kids of all ages.My 3 year old sat on every ride except 1. He had the best theme park adventure! Will definitely be visiting next year again!
Very good value for the younger children. We visited ten years ago with toddlers, who loved it. Now with 13/15 year olds, we still managed to fill the whole day and could have done more. The excitement may not have been as high, but fun was most certainly had. As an adult, I enjoyed the zip line and the water flumes.Food on-site is adequate and all facilities are well maintained. The park is feeling a little dated, but no more than it did 10 years ago.Staff are polite and there are plenty of entertainers about to liven things up.Recommended.PS. Parking might not be for those of very nervous dispositions, the whole park is on a steep incline.
Fantastic day out, kids loved it and so did we, cant wait to go back again.
Stayed here 1 night with 2 days theme park ticket. In the Explorers Suit. Was perfect for a family 2 Adults and 3 Kids! The theme park in on a hill so steep hills, and downhill at times too! Rides were really good, waiting in queues was not bad, kids sat on many rides again. The place is perfect for kids under 10 lots and lots to do! Will highly recommend anyone thinking of coming and a bargain for 1 nights stay with 2 days theme tickets for £200! My family made a lot of memories here, it amazing for kids! ❤
My Fiancé and myself took my grandson whos almost 8. We all really enjoyed it but oh my goodness the place is so steep so be warned. The rides are good but I think age wise they are only really suitable for under twelves. That said we had a great time. We took a picnic so didnt have their food.
Great place for children and toddlers, our 2 year old loved it!Few pointersPositives:1Very Friendly staff, smiling and willing to help2Plenty of rides for children who are 90cm tall3The actual park was pretty clean and easy to navigate , small wait in queue etc.Negatives:1Parking was an issue, spaces through out the different levels were all full.2Run down, needs a bit of TLC, toilets cafe areas can be approved.3Pretty hilly so be prepared for steep inclines especially if you have a pushchair , the park does have ramps , slopes etc to support puschairs.I will go back as our little one loved it.
Overall this is a really good place. The carpark is not the best so arrive early. Prices are reasonable for a theme park. We had a good day. Perfect for kids 110-130cm. Any younger and there are some rides they cannot go on and older kids might not find enough bigger trill rides they might want. The staff were friendly and while odd parts could benefit from a bit of a touch up it didnt feel run down like some places. Queues range from tiny to ok (unlike places like Legolandeven in the summer school holidays (Monday). Would recommend to a friend.
Park could do with a little TLC in places. Some of the rides like the dodgems and Silver Mine ride didnt work properly. But some rides like Riggers Revenge and Dino Falls water slide were brilliant fun and overall we and the 3 kids absolutely loved our weekend here. Especially the accomodation - it was faultless. Very clean and tidy and the views from the Wizard suite were absolutely great overlooking the theme park and Matlock. Kids loved the triple bunkbeds! Would definitely recommend overall but not if you dont like hills. Saw quite a few parents struggling with pushchairs.
What a great day out at Gullivers Kingdom. The theme park is really well themed and well laid out. Queue times were short considering it was school holidays... think longest we queued was 40 mins for the zigzag everything else was less than 10 minutes
Great day with the grandchildren.A couple of the rides werent open but it didnt spoil the day as there was plenty to do for the whole day.We took a picnic & there were plenty of picnic tables scattered around.Looks a little tired in places but it is getting towards the end of the season. The staff were really friendly & helpful.
Great day out! Hadnt visited for 20 years but they have added some great stuff! Particular favourites are the Riggers Revenge and the shooting dodgems! The children loved the soft play and all the play areas throughout! You have to book online and its cheaper if you book 2 days in advance but its very reasonable! Lovely family atmosphere (people without children are not permitted!and fantastic staff (shout out to Kieran on the Log Flume who voluntarily stopped the ride for my visually impaired mum to get on without stress! The Dennis the Menace theme was an added bonus! The 7 year-old had the best day ever and the 8 and 10 year-old had a great time too!
Let’s get the bad out the way first shall we…The entire site is VERY dated and in very desperate need of updating, cleaning and maintaining. It would need a big investment from somewhere but as I understand it the park is still family owned. Lots of things were broken and in a state of disrepair. There are very few staff about, there is no communication between them either. There was an issue with a child on the zip line and the staff had to send a “runner” to their boss to ask for some help as the staff don’t have radios! I was also concerned by the staff member who was strapping up my harness for the zip line when he said “wow I’ve had 3 monster drinks on top of my medication today so I’m buzzing!” Not exactly professional. Now that’s most of the bad out of the way… the good.My 9 year olds loved it! They were able to go on every ride with no queue(in the 6 weeks holidays too!). Would I recommend it? If you have kids under 10 then definitely give it a go… it’s cheap and cheerful.
We visited yesterday with our 7yo and her friend and it was a great day. They loved the rides, I think the zip line was the days favourite with 3 goes each. Highlights for me were the staff and how they handled everything, from going over safety information, being friendly and welcoming to offering a solution when we didnt want to get each girl the standard 2 scoop of ice cream. Would highly recommend for a fabulous day out, make sure you have good walking shoes for the hills!
We had fun here... Is the perfect place for young children... If they are over 6, go for Alton Towers.
We love Gullivers kingdom, although it is a little thread bare here and there. Its positioned on a step hillside which makes it interesting for able bodied but may be a struggle for mobilty challenged folk.We spent a full day there and there is more than enough entertainment for a full day.Didnt have to wait to long for any of the rides unlike last year in the pandemic when it was heaving. There are lots of places selling food but none of it healthy, so if your health food minded take a packed lunch you are allowed to do so.There are more sophisticated theme parks Im sure but the views and situation are unique and make Gullivers theme park unlike any other, good value fun.
A big fun day. Gullivers kingdom is a small but packed with attractions fun park, impressively built on a very steep hill side, with nice view to next ridge of the peak District. The type of attractions available are, in general, different from the usual fun park, which adds to a pleasant surprise. The park is split in mini " kingdoms" with specific themes. My favourite was the pirates themed area, where there were attractions to all ages and it was where I found my limits in terms of courage :).The Jurassic part has loads of very realistic robots. To the level of some of the best Dyno robots I saw elsewhere. The restaurants are spread around the park and sell more or less the same type of food. The usual fast food options: burgers, chicken nuggets, hot dogs and fries, plus ice creams, etc. There are the usual characters walking around the park and the staff is very friendly.Overall a nice day out. You can go through all attractions in one day. Not big queues. The variety of attractions make a fun day from toddlers to 12/13 year old children. On the top end, you may have two attractions only which would make your child happy, but so will you, because they are challenging. All the best.
We had such a great day, days are what you make them. Its a little dated now and quite stuck in the past but we still had a lovely day. Just an upgrade is all and please put the dinosaurs fingers back on. Would make huge difference.
Overall a great experience, this theme park is not ideal for wheelchair users and anyone with a physical disability as you are required to go up / down steep hills with various gradients. Food was slightly higher priced. Plenty of toilets. Also when approaching the car park be prepared if you dont have hill Start within your vehicle features..require good clutch control.
Had a great day out. Something for all the family. Great value for money. Didnt realise it was so hilly though! A definite workout just walking around the site. Staff friendly. Little one said best day ever! Would recommend
We went to Gullivers Kingdom on a very hot fat, and were pleased to find a lot of seating areas for food, drinks etc and benches for grown ups to sit on while children on rides. There was plenty of shade too. It IS very hilly, ngl, but there is a chair lift, which is helpful. There was a good range of rides and activities to please our 9 year old and 5 year old. We expected to come away a lot earlier than we did, but got really good value, staying from 10.30 until 4 pm, with the kids still wanting more rides. Very good value. A special word for the staff...almost all youngsters and without fail cheerful and polite.
Great for the kids, you can be through in half a day and enjoy more that the peaks has to offer. We however spend the whole day.My six year old had the time of her life, the staff were fantastic, the only disappointment was the state of the "restaurant"
Wonderful day with the grandkids aged 9 and 3. Great value, the attendants on the rides were consistently lovely, kind, helpful and considerate to everyone.
Needs a bit of updating but kids loved it. Our only problem was people smoking we went to the soft play bit near the stand on lift and so many adults was smoking you could hardly breath. Maybe have proper shelters out the way or make it non smoking altogether 🚭
Visited with kids and other family members with their children couple of months ago, we thought it was a good day out with lots for the kids to enjoy and plenty of dinosaurs placed around too. There are rides in the theme park so everyone can have fun family day out.
We booked our tickets two days in advance and arrived as the park was opening at 10:30. No que to get in, and there was a little show on the front of the castle before the park opened. My 6yr old was able to go on every ride in the park, my 2 Yyr old was able to go on about 90% of the rides. If your kids are under 90cm tall there will be only a handful of rides they can go on, but thats why you only pay for kids who are 90cm and over. We started at the top of the hill and worked our way down to the bottom. You can then catch a chair lift back to the top of the hill rather than walking all the way back up the steep hill. You dont spend much time queuing for any of the rides which is great. There was a small que for the chair lift at the end of the day as everyone was trying to get a lift back up to the top of the hill. The guy running the chairlift was a good laugh and kept everyone entertained while you waited. They do offer an emergency services/ NHS/ military/ blue light card discount which can save you some money if your eligible. Limited choice for food if you are wanting anything more than sandwiches, hotdogs, ice creams etc, but plenty of places to sit and eat if you take a picnic.Fantastic day out and would highly recommend to anyone who is visiting the Matlock area with young kids. We will definately be going to one of the Gullivers Parks again in the future.
Wonderful place for kids, amazing theme park alot to do.
We loved our day at Gullivers kingdom. We have two kids, 3 and 5, and all of us had a great time. The park is well-kept and full of activities. Be aware that it is built on a steep hill in case you need to take a pushchair. The staff were nice and friendly. Id definitely recommend going!
What an amazing place for young children. My two (3+5absolutely loved it, and we will definitely be returning.
Absolutely excellent even though the weather was a bit hit and miss! No queues at all and all rides fun for little ones! We had a great family day 5 hours of fun!And there are orchids in the gardens too!
Really family friendly and the host at the front was very funny and welcoming us and the kids laughed so much at him.Theres a lot of walking up and down but its definitely worth it for the kids.No long queues. We will definitely be back for more fun.
A good day out. The kids loved them. Every ride is run in a way that kids can enjoy them. Moreover, the adults can accompany the kinds in most of the rides. It seems one can pack their own food and bring it in, which I thought was a good policy. Just to give a heads up, the place has some steep inclines and declines. Some might find it difficult to reach all the areas of the place. Overall it was very good.
Awesome place but be prepared to have thighs like a rugby player the next day, very VERY steep hills throughout, well maintained park, energetic and happy staff all set in a stunningly beautiful scenic location
Had a great time here though our nearly 4 year old was probably a bit young. Would be great for 7+ to take full advantage of everything. Great options of rides, couple of playgrounds and nice options of accommodation right on site. The views are beautiful too!
What an amazing place with the best staff of all parks i have ever visited. (And i have been to loads). A great mix of old rides with new ones including a great ride whete you harness up and zoom around the park.I was so impressed with how much the kids enjoyed themselves and i cant say enough about how friendly and helpful ALL the staff are.I went on a Saturday and no queue to enter and very little wait for the rides.A 5 star day out
We really enjoyed the day! Very hillish which is obviously something that cant be controlled but I feel like something like travelators could be included for those less abled or those with pushchairs. Entertainment on the day was great. My 4 year old had a very good point though and mentioned the pirate ship (rocking shipwasnt operating yet it was a princess and pirate event. Got me thinking she had a point. Not sure what the circumstances are though in their defence. Food is pricey so suggest you take your own. Also feel like more sign posting wouldnt go amiss, or atleast a map on the brochure thats given to you at the beginning. Other than the above points we really enjoyed our day. 🥰
Best to get on the Cable Car Ride on entry ang go from the top to bottom.Very steep paths in places, no good for your legs & Lumber.Good views of Matlock below.
Decent day out. Kids need to under 8 years really, not much for big kids. Need to be fit for the hills.
Not a Bad day for the under 10s , but you have got to be fit for Hill Climbs . It was under staffed just like every where at the moment. And wants a Good Lick of Paint in places.
Really good glacé bags of fun, great staff, reasonable prices. Only reason for a 4 * is mad parking and its built on a huge hill so loads of steep walking. I would go again cause its bags of fun, kids loved it. Go for it everyone, have a great time
I booked this last minute and it was absolutely amazing! Lots of dinosaurs for the kids to look at and activities. Just one problem, there’s a lack of staff members when you need to ask for directions! Otherwise Such a lovely place honestly, so much fun for the kids. There was a boat ride and a bridge going across the park, there’s also a farm with animals and humongous insect models. Really awesome!
Went on grandparents day with 2 of our grandkids. Had a lovely time except that it is built on a hill side so very hilly. Not really suitable for someone with mobility issues but nevertheless enjoyed it.
Great day out here for me and my family. No queues to get in, queues for rides very short, mostly if not all rides are aimed at children so not really a place for adult groups. Most rides are 2 seated, so if you go as a group of 3, one of you will usually be left out or can go on rides alone.Beautiful surroundings, most rides & attractions were in working order. Clean & tidy with sanitizer stations throughout. Plenty of places to eat and toilets too. The staff here are great, friendly ride operators. One downside is the car park, its quite tight as its on a corkscrew layout on a hillside. We were directed where to park however when we returned to our car, someone had parked horizontally direct behind us. Not helpful.
We had a great day at the park. It is pirate and dinosaur themed throughout. Quite a bit of walking up and down steep hills but loads of benches to sit on, loads of play areas for smaller children.Pretty gutted that the chair lift didnt work on the day. There was also loads of other buildings and rides that were shut down and not working and just looked run down. There was one ride on the top level of a park that we stood in the queue for about 10mins. You were sat in a little cart trying to shoot the target. The worst ride of my life, do not waist your time on it!!!Some lovely views from the top.
I enjoyed my time at the theme park today! It has excellent rides and play area for kids and things for adults too! The views in Derby is magnificent and the staff members were nice and helpful. My kids enjoyed themselves.
Matlock bath is a lovely place, and from Gullivers kingdom you see some fantastic views as the park is on different levels. I wouldnt recommend to anyone with mobility issues as there is a lot of steap walking to do. The park is great fun for kids. Plenty of rides and playground areas to keep them entertained. Dont expect it to be like the big theme parks like Alton towers, Drayton manor etc because it definitely isnt. We did find it very busy and because of how the park is built its really not able to keep to the social distancing rules. It made me in particular feel quite claustrophobic and anxious. I was also particularly disgusted by the state of the toilets throughout the park. They were absolutely filthy, some with no soap and one with overflowing paper blocking the toilet. I couldnt wait to leave and get home to shower.
A fun theme park for younger kids. Our 7 year old found most of the rides a bit tame. The parking is interesting! Dont try and park in the first section where the spaces are narrow and short. There is plenty of space in the other car parks higher up the hill. The theme park is quite hilly and steep in places, but overall not that big. The queues werent too bad early, but by mid-afternoon they were up to 50 minutes for the more popular attractions.
Superb day for the family. There is lots to do, things to play on and fun rides. The park is set on a steep hill so if you have mobility issues unfortunately this wouldnt be appropriate. other good features though: plenty of toilets, free parking, reasonably priced food. Stunning views of Derbyshire. This is a great park for younger children.
