Gulab Hari in Sao Paulo
Description
Privilege
This is not an Indian restaurant. They serve feijoada and salad. I have no idea why its branded as Indian cuisine. It is just not. Not at all. You can get feijoada anywhere in Brazil. You dont need to get it here. Its expensive feijoada when what I wanted was Indian food. Also the second option was a pesto pasta. So ye. Go elsewhere.
MoreThis place does not serve Indian food, it serves a fusion of Brazilian food with some flavours (very smallderived from Indian cuisine. The food is okay to try.The service was okay.Advice for Indians : Please dont try the Gulab Jamun or Gajar Halwa (written as Haval or Halav in the menu). Its a very bad imitation of the actual version. Youll get furious if you try this.
MoreDelicious food any day of the week.
Heavenly
Vegan Indian restaurant in Sao Paulo. Fixed menu on each days.. Saturday and Sunday prices are bit costlier than week days. Delicious taste of course
MoreBy far the best Indian vegan restaurant Ive ever visited. In Europe there are by far more Indian restaurants than in Brazil, but none of them come close to this restaurant in the lively metropolis of Sao Paulo!
MoreFood was really really good. They specialise in vegetarian and vegan food, but I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone! The reason I’m giving 4 starts is that the service was bad. Really slow and due to our table being at the back, I got the impression that they forgot we were there. But still, I’d come back and eat again here!
MoreVery good Indian food for a reasonable price. Vegetarian and vegan friendly, they have a menu of the day which includes salad, meal, dessert and drink for R$45 (Dec. 2021). I highly recommend it. It’s very close to the Paulista Av. and MASP.
MoreThe food for vegetarians was great, feels bit of a fusion of Indian and Brazil. Would go there again for sure.
MoreGreat food, excellent ambient but you cant pay with QRCode options
Nice meal for affordable price. The place is a very interesting house.
One of my favourite places in São Paulo. Delicious and affordable. Can not recommend this special place enough!
MoreExcellent food, quick service and very reasonable prices. You can order half and half for their daily selections to try both! The small size is sufficient for lunch unless youre extremely hungry.
MoreGreat vegan place. Two floors , different size tables for groups or even individual ones. (Those are floor seating options. They offer a Daily combo menu.
MoreI love this vegetarian restaurant! The food is so delicious and the table service is really kind. Its near from Paulista avenue, so the localization is great for you to appreciate the Gopalas menu. Some tips, the restaurant offers only two combined menu per day. I recommend to try on saturdays :} #Go.
MoreIt’s neat , clean and tasty food. They provide two options for meal. One is little bit Indian style and the other one is typical Brazilian. Great tasteIt’s 100% vegetarian and run by Iskcon devoteesI personally recommend this
MoreOne of the best restos in Sao Paulo!!! Beautiful fresh delicious food, cozy place and very cost-effective. Will definetly come back and bring more friends!!!
MoreDelicious food in a very comfy environment. The neighborhood is also full of interesting things. Highly recommended! A+++++
MoreNice vegetarian and vegan food, with indian inspiration is like a mix of east and west in one dish, starting always with a fresh salad. In one dish you can get the mix of cultures, last time I was there they have combinations like lassagna, pakoras and fried tofu in one side or dhal, rice, pakoras and veg mini burgers. Is not spicy food, as I said before, it has indian inspiration in some dishes but is not real indian food, so if you are expecting indian food you may be disappointed but if you are open to try something new you will be satisfied because food is tasty and they use good quality ingredients. Chili pickles were very tasty.
MoreIt wasn’t busy on the Monday I went. Food was good, light and tasty. To my knowledge the food is not traditionally Indian, but they do use Indian spices and have a cozy Indian themed interior.
MoreI always visit this place whenever I am in São Paulo. It’s got a nice vibe and atmosphere, however not typical Indian food at all. They might use some Indian herbs and spices to add flavour to the food however the dishes resemble Brazilian food, such as vegan feijoada and farofa. Nonetheless I still love this place and I’ll keep coming back.
MoreDelicious Indian vegetarian food. Comes in full menus (starter + main courses + dessert + drinkat very reasonable prices (36R$ per menu)
MoreI always look forward to coming to Gulab Hari when I visit São Paulo. It does not matter what day of the week it is -- the food is always delicious! A must visit for any vegan or vegetarian!
MoreI just love it! A superb vegetarian/vegan option in Sao Paulo, really close to Paulista Avenue and the subway.
MoreExcellent vegetarian restaurant. I always go to this one or the other sister restaurant when I am in the region. Their food is delicious and the price is reasonable. Only problem is that there is always a waiting line. But you can drink for free a tchai or a ginger juice while waiting for your table.
MoreWaiting was preety long and food was not close to the expectations. Not an authentic indian taste.
MoreIncredibly light and tasty. Best to get there early or after 14h, as it gets very busy. Ate here for every lunch during five day trip. Would eat here every day if I lived in Sao Paulo!
MoreNice vegetarian restaurant. Menu of the day is delicious.
I loved the food, the place and the service. No words to describe what I felt here. One of the best places I went in the last 2 years.
MoreGulab Hari is a must go. I took my non vegetarian friends there and they loved the food.
MoreOne of the best vegetarian option near Paulista Avenue!
Lots of fried food, heavy and everything tastes like oil or fat. Meal is not balanced (3 fried types of food). Food is not fresh and don’t expect lots of flavor. Very disappointed
MoreOne of the best indian restaurants I have ever been to! very tasty food!
Inspired by Hare Krishna, lovely decor with back ground bhajans, idols, paintings from India. This is a fusion food from India to suit local needs and taste, two options each day for vegetarian dishes prepared in ghee which makes it tasty and different. The promoters have taken great interest in showcasing vegetarian in a distant land where so much meat is consumed. For Indian vegetarian friends enjoy the food as it is closest one can get. if you are expecting a typical Indian food with spice and masalas pls do not visit else you can be disappointed. Hats off for introducing the Veg concept in Brazil.z
MoreI stood long time in the queue. It was every minute worth. Love this place
Delicious food for a great price! Also for non vegetarians!
Nice Indian restaurant close to the Paulista Avenue. Price is acceptable, taste is good and portions are well served.
MoreAs they Say , This is not an Indian restaurant but veg restaurant inspired from India. If you are an Indian who is in Sau Paulo and want to eat indian food like sabji, roti, daal-chaval this is not an restaurant for you. but if you are a foreigner and want to explore Indian food this might be the place you visit.
MoreExcelent food. Two options a day, you can ask for a vegan version for all plates, that includes vegan cheese as a dairy substitute. Very yummy food, well served in a very good price.
MoreThis is not Indian food. No spice, no naan, and the food didnt even taste Indian. No Indian staff either, which is a bad sign.
MoreVegetarian and Vegan Indian meals, very good prices and the most delicious food!
The food is strictly vegetarian but only from one part of South India, so it does not represent food of India.
MoreSo delicious! Its a set menu for each day of the week with a selection of dishes, a dessert and a juice. Super filling and you dont get bored because you get to try so many different flavours! The staff and kitchen were super helpful even adapting the menu for my mum who is lactose intolerant.
MoreDelicious Indian dishes at a great price. Its a fixed menu that changes daily. I loved
MoreWe had been to this restaurant twice and just loved it. Amazing food with Indian flavor. Great customer service. Healthy food and value for money. Will visit again, whenever possible!!!
MoreTheres a reason this restaurant has a near 5-star rating and more than 100 reviews. One of the absolute best places to have lunch around Av. Paulista - for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. The menu changes depending on the day of the week and is 100% lactovegetarian but despite the absence of meat, the flavor more than makes up for it and meat eaters wont even notice that its missing. For R$33.50, you get a salad, fresh juice (SO GOOD!), a main course and a small dessert.
MoreThey take such care of the restaurant, the atmosphere and the food. Every day has each own two options of set menus and I love the Monday jasmine rice and peanut kofta. Im not a vegetarian myself, but if all veggy dishes were this tasty I might be able to swear off meat! ;)
MoreOne of the greatest restaurant around the area. Enough food, well cooked, fair price (may vary during a week, quite expensive on a Saturday). The experience of having a dinner in Gopala Hari as in Madhva is as great as its decoration. If you cant stand eating or doing anything during the heat, this might be not your place. Really hot restaurant and you might sweat a lot due to the spicy food
MoreGood vegetarian food with combo. Rice, daal, pakora, bhajji, salad, desert and juice. Place is good and the staff too well. Price is normal.
MoreIf you are looking for curries, this is not the place. Food is inspired by Indian Vaishnava Cuisine. Quantity is more than sufficient. Dont miss chai and honey lemon ginger juice.
