Beautiful place to go visit ,loads for the kids to do especially for walking youre dog, lovely café selling hot and cold food
Really nice childs park different grades of walks and rides, the cafe is good and a nice choice of food, ice cream drinks ect, toilets are a bonus and well looked after. When out walking or at the park please take your rubbish home or put it in the recycling bins at visiters centre.
Great for kids. Easy access for older people. Great staff in the cafe.
Lovely walk, little cafe lovely, cuppa or a bite to eat.
Lovely walk, so well signposted. Lovely cafe at end, clean toilets.Shame about smelly horrible pond in car park, poor ducks.Definitely go back.
Great place for Walking or MTBing something for everyone kids and all
Great little adventure for the kids looking at all the diffrent bugs and activities then a well deserved ice cream from the little shop great place
Fabulous walks, toilets, food and drink available at the visitor centre.....however, the coffee isnt good, very milky!
From a car park just off the main road, the visitor centre offers cafe food and toilet facilities. A "Superworm" (previously Gruffalowoodland trail leads up the hill and has some nice infotainment type stuff for young children. Theres also a picnic area and quite an extensive and engaging playground area for kids - a cool variety of stuff for older and younger ones.We also discovered three marked walking trails - we followed the green arrows for a lovely 45 minute walk. Quite steep uphill to starts, but easy enough to cope with. The website says the red arrows should take an hour and a half; the white arrows closer to two and a half.Definitely worth a visit and a good mornings activity for young families.
Good place for the kids to explore and enjoy a picnic.
Great walking area with many paths and trails to follow, whether you are walking, cycling or on your hoss on the bridleway. Various themed walks including a fitness trim trail; lots of carved wooden sculptures; loads for the kids including play area (if theyve got any energy after all that walking!); woodland paths; great views; ponds; wildlife; information boards and colour coded routes. Good café. Large car park. Picnic area with tables. Large area to walk, including a route to Roseberry Topping. Easily spend a day here walking.
Wonderful place for a walk with kids.
Amazing place for adventures in a woodland area, great trails for families, joggers, bike rides and bridal-way for horses. WC and facilities on-site along with a café and friendly staff. The local authorities and council have made a beautiful place for the community. Plenty of room for disabled and flat ground for all ages.
Top class breakfast, reasonable prices, first class service - made the hike through the forest even better, although the walk home was tough after such a great meal. Do yourself a favour and go there. Often! Just not when Im there
Really lovely place to visit. Great for kids with the sculpture park. Various different levels of walking. Some nice walks in the woods.A couple of good paths for wheelchairs one along the old railway line. Nice cafe and toilets. You need to pay and display in the car park.
Guisborough Forest has a comprehensive network of walkways, some routes require good mobility, but there are gentle walks as well. There is a good café if you want a bite to eat at the end of your walk. The car park is pay and display, with an all-day ticket costing £4.The last time we were there, a deer walked out in front of us 🦌😀
Great day out. Variety of walks. Playground, sculptures, nice cafe, shop and visitor centre. Well worth a trip
Great views but not good for people with disability problems . Trails are steep. We took a 4 year old she loved the green walk and play area
Canny spot for biking and hiking shame aboot the amount of dog shizzle lying around and stuck to my bike tyres 🐕💨💩💯
Brilliant deciduous forest. Childrens play area looked fun ( sadly Im too old ). Routes clearly marked. Loved the carved statues. Cafe was busy. Car parking was easy but not free.
Great forest experience for the family. Nice walks to do of which we followed the superworm, Julia Donaldson kids story route this time. Fun activity trail with tasks to complete with the kids. There is a cafe selling the usual hot cold stuff and an information centre . Toilets on site. For the kids there are play parks a plenty. A nice pond to see the ducks and wildlife etc. Parking is available including disabled spots however this is chargeable £2 for 2 hoursCash or pay on a phone app. Lots to do worth a visit.
Nice little walk, good way to kill few hours with little ones and get the dog out and about.Rocky road in cafe is unreal 👌
Very peaceful place to walk with or without a dog love it !!!
Just the most fab place to walk our dog in all seasons. She’s off the lead from start to finish. Amazing wildlife too including adders, herons and wild deer
Great walks.Lots of wood carved animals for the kids to look out for. Ponds to check out, bug city area, play areas, plus just a great pmace to visit and walk through .Mt bike and horse riding trails grest morning afternoon out
A nice stretch of forestry with footpaths and cycle routes close to Guisborough Town centre.I can highly recommend the cafe at the Visitor Centre, offering a good selection of food and drink. There is also a nice play area there for the kids. Please note there is a charge for parking at the Visitor Centre which is coin operated or by phone App, so bring some change if you dont want to download the App.
Again fabulous outdoor space for walking, lots of tracks to take. Not too crowded as lots of options, Roseberry Topping, Hutton Village, Highcliffe etc.
Ample parking, lovely cafe with friendly staff. Great walking routes.
Lovely walks, nice cafe for a snack or drink too!
Amazing views, lovely little coffee shop at the end with a park for the kids
The views are amazing, and they have several colour coded trails for those want more of a challenge. You could spend a good few hours waking around it, and itll be time well spent.
Lovely day out with our little dog. Parking £2 for 2 hours £3 for 3 hrs £4 for the day. We only paid for 3hrs as we thought we would of had enough by then but could easily have stayed longer. Had a coffee and a bacon and a sausage bun. Also an extra sausage for the dog which they kindly provided already sliced. They both tasted great and the coffee was good too. Staff very helpful. The walks were great and good shading from the sun for the dog. Will be back soon.
Totally unexpected little find. Originally took a day out to climb Roseberry Topping but it was packed. Ended up to this gem of a place instead. Such a beautiful spot of nature, well looked after. An amazing family day out with the animal statues, little beats garden and plenty of walk routes. More little sights right out of the park as well!
Fantastic walk out lovely for the kids too plenty to do very tidy & well looked after will definitely be a new favourite of ours
Arrived at around noon. Car park £1 for 2 hours or £3 all day so excellent rates. We went for a snack before we went for a walk. The cafe is to be recommend both in the quality and price. I had a plain burger for £4.25 which came with crisps and a bit of salad and coleslaw. There are a few different things for kids to enjoy... Playground, climbing chains, tunnels and more. There are 3 walks Red, Green and the the longest one that we did the White route which has a few marker posts missing and caused a slight use of the mobile phone GPS on maps to get back on the route again. There was a cycle route as well... Blue. So OK for walking, running, cycling and just walking around with the kids. All in all I think its a good place to visit.,
Great place to take the kids. Loads to do; trails, parks, insect area etc. There are some great tracks if youre a mountain biker too!No admission and parking is fairly cheap.
A popular forest centre with loads of character and ample activities for the kids. Follow the adventures of Zog the dragon as you wend your way around various routes through the woods, then treat yourselves to a well deserved drink and snacks at the visitor center. This is a lovely way to spend a day and we had a great time. My heartfelt thanks to the many volunteers for all the hard work they are putting into this place.
Amazing walks. I think there should be more toilets around. Be careful it is labeled as a theft place
Nice little café at the entrance to the walk. Ideal to grab a take away coffee and let the kids play I spy with the various carvings through the branch walk way. Some of the fitness obstacle course bits need some maintenance but its ideal for a very early morning run while tackling them. The café building has various informative things for kids to read up on and learn about the animals they may see in the forest. The interactive floor is great for toddlers to run about on.
Lovely walks, lots for families to do and a sweet little visitor center. Car park is cheap (£1 for 2 hours or £2 for the day). Lots of dog walkers, families and cyclists out enjoying the weather this morning!
Great place been loads of times, parking cost reasonable and the cafe there wont break the bank! Lovely little park for the kids along with climbing chains in the forest. Also loads of walks available. Highly recommended!
Super walks, lovely visitors centre and cafe. Old railway carriage is available for hire and has a lovely outlook. Great facility for old and young alike.
What a lovely place. First time today . Daughter played in play park then we followed the white , green , red route up through the forest . Came back down onto lower path with lots of wooden activities for children to do along the way .. Definitely be back, maybe bikes nxt time .
A great place to take the kids with loads of stuff to do! The cafe was reasonably priced and the food tastes good, we will definitely go again.
Fantastic bit of outdoor adventure for all the family, and brilliant trails for walking and bikes - great cafe and even an old train carriage for the anoraks (my 2 year old son is one!). Would highly recommend!
Great walk with plenty of play activities for younger and older children. Parking was £1 for 2 hours which gave us plenty of time to walk, play and a coffee at the end. The café is well stocked and prices were reasonable, they take contactless payment too which is handy. Well worth the visit if you want to tire out the kids and see some landscapes whilst at it.
Great place for a walk, with loads of wildlife and fun activities for all ages plus a great cafe
These woods are great for bringing the kids as they can enjoy the walk and also the park. Good for exercising the dog too. There is also a cafe where you can chill out with a nice cold drink on a hot day.
This is an excellent location for children and adults, lovely walks, mountain bike trails and bridle ways.Easy low cost parking at the forest cafe gives you easy access to most paths. Information can be obtained at the visitor centre. The food is very good and a full English is massive.
Really good day out £1 to park rest is all free. If its dry or sunny its brilliant day out
