Gudibande Fort - Tourist attraction in Hindupur, India
Nice place. There is a lot of trekking to reach the top and want to view the great and awesome view. The road from banglore to gudibande is very nice just between the awesome view and you can enjoy the trip / long drive as well. Its not that far just will take 2 hrs may be or max 2.5 hrs from electronic City to gudibande. Also take car for going if you want to and bike will also work because the route is also very good.Once you reach approximately 30 min to 45 min you need to do the trekking and also there are shades where you can take rest.In down you can find for eating but rest advice you to take it from your place Only. The view is really very amazing just wish that when you go it should be cloudy.Apart from that there are lots of monkey so better to take care of your belongings and take care of you steps because there is no barrigte.
A very nice trek. Quite a couple of narrow passages and watch towers to explore. The view from the top is amazing in all directions.
Its a hidden tourist spot so close to Bangalore. Not many would be aware of this place. It has its own pros and cons. Pros, u have less crowds and less litter and u can enjoy the place for yourself on weekdays. The environment is calm and relaxing. The view from the top is amazing. Cons, less tourists means less facilities like toilets, water, food. You dont have any vendors selling water, food or no available toilets. So make sure you carry enough water for the climb. And the climb looks easier than it is. The climb is steep. Its not dangerous in any way but the stairs are steeper to climb and its easy to get tired in a few steps. Please carry water, food with you that ll make the difference. The place can get very hot so try to plan on a cloudy day. Overall an excellent day ride from Bangalore. Please do not litter if you visit. Carry your own trash back.
Nice place for those who are interested in forts and historical structures. Great place to visit in weekend with friends. On the way you will get a big lake with water overflowing over the road. Carry food and enough water. And better to start early to avoid heat of the sun while treaking to the fort. Shiva temple at top and peaceful view of the surroundings. After reaching top of the fort you will love the wind . Its so relaxing....Parking Available.
An easy trek to a fort perched atop a hill overlooking a beautiful lake. Very nice drive from Bangalore and an overall pleasant day trip!
Its just wow...best for trekking. Can capture with fantastic view point.arount 500 steps there. On top can see entire Gudibande town . We can feel fresh and cool breeze. And Byrasagara lake is too closed to road best location for ๐ท capture .
Beautiful place! Theres a lake and a fort here. The trek to the top of the fort is of beginners difficulty. The view at the top is very beautiful. The fort itself is also beautiful to look at. Lot of spots to sit on the rocks and enjoy different views of the town below.
Good place to visit, nice view from top, trekking required, on d way lake is full of water
Nice one for weekend getaways.. its about 1.5 hour from Bangalore. Nearby gudibande you can also visit Lepakshi temple, its also about 25 kms from Gudibande. But visit fort only mornings before 8am. You will get nice view in surroundings.
Good place for weekend getaway.. not too crowded.. nice drive to the place.. 30 to 40 mins trek.. carry water n snacks if needed.. no shops available during the hike.. only tender coconut stall at the base.. easy climb with rock cut steps in some places.. Shiva temple at top.. peaceful view of the surroundings..
This is historical fort. Great place to visit in weekend with friends. The best part is trekking. Who loves trekking must visit this place once. After reaching top of the fort you will love the wind . Its so relaxing
Very nice place to visit with family and friends. The beauty of the place is all the viewpoints and the sunrise. Visit you will agree with me. The best time to visit is morning 6. am to 12. pm and in the evening from 3 pm to 6. pm with the sunset.
This is a nice weekend gateway from bangalore. This is my second visit to this fort and both the times its a different but lovely experience.Hiking to the top of the fort is easy and can be easily done with kids and elderly people. We climb it with my 3 year old daughter who truly enjoyed climbing and getting down with little guidance. Well defined walkways with stairs till the top. Mostly morning upto 9am is an ideal time to visit since by the afternoon the sun makes it difficult to climb. During monsoon please check the weather forecast and make your plans. Rains make the stairs slippery and make it difficult for people with kids and elderly difficult. The view from the top is amazing. You will get to see a panoramic 360 degree view of the surrounding area which include the town, hills and 2 lakes. The place looks much clearer this time than my 1st visit. Just a small request to the people please carry back your plastics with you dont leave it there ๐
Great place for trekking and long drive or short ride (whichever you preferfrom Bengaluru. There is no one to charge you for anything, except for a few young kids, they ask for money to look after you vehicle and sell tidbits. There is no ticket counter or entrance fee. Just park your ride and start climbing. There are around 300 ~ 200 steps initially, after that its all bushes and mountain pathways.Look out for branches, shrubbery and small insects, wear covered clothes while hiking and good trekking/hiking shoes which do not slip. There are nice old ladies, who offer guidance on the path, you can donate some money to help them with their daily needs in return for the assistance they provide.
Its 90kms away from Bangalore. You get to witness a beautiful lake on the way to the fort. Have to climb steps of 100 or more to reach the top. Its has amazing view of the whole landscape. Perfect trekking during weekdays as it wont be crowded.
Nice place to sit peacefully.less crowded place with beautiful lakes around.Carry food if you want to stay longer.Yiu have to climb Rocky terrain and steps.
Parking - AvailableDate of visit - May 2022Treking distance - less than 2kms to the top one side, easy trekTime - about an hour one sideSafety - Less crowded but safeDifficulty Level - Easy trek for kids also.Water and food - not available at the top, can be taken from base. This beautiful fort is situated in Gudibande town. There is a small temple at the top and you get a beautiful view. We went with a family. The whole drive from Bengaluru to chikkaballapur was awesome as this rout contain beautiful farms, good roads and lovely weather.
Simple and easy-level trek to gudibande fort eventually leads you to a beautiful view of the perimeter.. the houses are also in shades of blue like in Jaipur. Trek takes aprx. 2-2.5 hrs to go to the top and come back down. We went with BMC who take care of the travel (busand food (breakfast and lunch). You can also go on your own as there are no restrictions.
Gudibande Fort was built by a yogi and a local chieftain called Byre Gowda some 400 odd years ago in the 17th century. It was believed that he belonged to the Tuluva dynasty of the Vijayanagar empire. It can be said as a concise replica of theย Madhugiriย fort. The fort has seven levels with interconnecting escape routes which would help soldiers to flee in case of emergency. On the top of the fort is a Shiva temple known as "Sir Rameshwara Temple", established by Sage Vishwamitra and Lord Rama which is believed to be one of the 108 Jyotirlingas . The strong pillar with a square base has well sculpted images. One can also have a good view of the Byrasagara reservoir.
Best place to watch sunrise. Good for one day trip. There are around 500 steps. Takes 30-45 min to climb. Fort is beautiful.Good hiking for beginners. Good place for people who love trekking and history. Start early morning to watch sunrise. Free car parking.*Dont throw Plastic covers in the location*
Nice place to visit for 1 day vacation and 1 hour hiking point . Sunrise and sunset will be awesome. Best place to get photography , Carry food and water bottles coz there are no shops in up and you will not get hygienic or ant foods available until you cross the village. Also please be safe with locals especially who go only couples, going with team is honest recommended as well as keep the place clean.
Very nice place. Its a pretty easy 1 hour trek. The views from top is awesome.
Was a very good experience.Best place for weekend trips. But we cant find any good hotels near by Gudibande so its better to carry snacks with you. There is a big lake which is around 5kms away from this place.
Level of trek is easy. Anyone can try. Steps are there. Those love history, enjoy here... awesome feeling when we r going in between rocks and cave like structures. There is a temple in the top. Dont miss to see a beautiful lake view on your left side before reaching here. Roads are good.
Nice place to ride from Bangalore. Takes about 2 hrs .. approx 95kms .. Good Trekk .Make sure a lot of water is carried while climbing the fort. Must go place for age group upto 40 years
Superb place if u visit early morning. After 11am its quite diff to climb. Top view is good.
Great trek for beginners. Steps majority of the places. Some narrow pathways. Good view from the top - beautiful for sunrise as well as sunset. Parking at the foothill. Monkeys around - donโt carry food. There are plenty of breakfast or snacks options if you hit main Bangalore - Hyderabad highway.
Nice place. Scenic view. Sunset point was good. We can see a huge lake from top of the hill.
A short trek with beautiful view at the top.One side of the hill you can see the gudibande town and on the other side you can see open grasslands. There are nearby places also to explore if you wish to.
Gudibande Fort is a perfect weekend getaway spot. You might have to ascend for a certain duration of time to reach the top. Steps are available, so it should be a problem to climb. Try to reach as early as possible to witness the sunrise. There are no entry fee as such. Park your bike and start off with the ascend. You can capture few amazing pictures on your way to the top. The top provides you the best of views to enlighten your photography tone.We spent a quite lot amount of time on the fort by playing UNO, capturing photos and making few reels for Instagram. Carry at least 1 litre of water bottle with you because you wont find any stall on your way to the top. You might run into a tender coconut seller on your way back.I will attach few sample pictures for your reference. Take a look at them.
Nice place for a trekk, we reached at nearly 3:30pm, so experienced mild breeze. Calm and quiet place, 100meteres from the main road. Limited parking space available.
Nice place to visit for a day outing. Though a steep trek/climb to the hilltop , its completely worth it. The fort and rock formation is breathtaking. The lake nearby is also good. If possible try to make it to the mountain top for sunset. Its mesmerizing. It will take 2 to 3 hours total to climp up and down. Carry food and water as nothing is available on mountain top.Other nearby places to add to the day outing -leepakshi or horshley hills or putparthi.
Awesome place for one day hangout. Easy trek. Seat peacefully. Enjoy the moment. But please dont ruin the place by making noise and playing music. Its not your home. I am depressed by looking at those activities.
We went here on a week day. The place was absolutely deserted and had a sense of calmness within it. Its at a distance of about 90 kms from Bangalore. The ascent comprises of steps and Rocky terrain. One can climb the top in 30-60 minutes depending upon their fitness level. Good serene place and view from the top is beautiful. Very good roads to drive through. Worth a visit over a weekend, but during the weekend curfew times one can plan for an early morning trip.
I had been to this fort a week back. Its around 90km from Blore.Nice view from the top. You need max 30 mins to reach the top.not a difficult hike.Steps are available.Path to the top is amazing at some places with forest like feeling. Parking space available for few cars.Free parking and free entry to the fort.Visit it if you are in and around. Going from Blore just to see the fort is not worth. So try to cover any nearby places.
Best place for one day outing.. nice tracking and very smooth and less crowded... Love it....
Nice place for those who are interested in forts and historical structures. On the way you will get a big lake with water overflowing over the road. Nice to see the sunset from this location.Parking AvailableCarry food and enough water. And better to start early to avoid heat of the sun while treaking to the fort
Nearly 200+ steps are there to climb. Vehicles wont go till the top. No need to take permissions . A temple is located on the top of the fort. You can take rest in between while climbing steps, as provision is there. Carry water n food if needed as there is no provision for the same at the top.
An adventure filled trip. The scenes from top is wow. There is a Shiva temple on top which makes your trip with memorable only if you know the fact for it.The steps from ground to top is wow, make sure you have an habit of walking or else will be a challenge.Travel during Saturday so that Sunday can be a full day to rest. There is another place to visit from here around 20km, its a temple do visit that place too.
A wonderful weekend getaway, nice and superb historical place to visit, Best time to visit early morning to watch the sunrise And a must visit to the lake on the way to the fort
Gudibande Fort is very less crowded place, around 250-300 steps there to reach the peak. One of the oldest fort built around 17th century.Good for one day trip and for kids gives trek experience. Not recommended for old age people especially those who are having knee and leg pain. You feel very peaceful and calm.
Very good place for a half days trip. Beginner level trekking.
Nice little trek about 80 kms from Bangalore. There are steps for most part and can be easily climbed by most people. At the top theres a small temple which was closed while we went. You can get a beautiful panoramic view of the Gudibande town and the large Bhairasagara lake. The lake, which we pass through on the way to the fort was overflowing onto the road due to recent rains.
A 2 hour drive from Hebbal, Bengaluru.Fantastic roads, and while you approach the fort, dont miss the beautiful lake just before the fort.View from the top is decent given the elevation. Carry water bottles and caps to protect yourselves from the sun. An old temple, that was unfortunately closed. Few monkeys on the top, so be careful.Limited parking, and quite a few tender coconut vendors.
Its really nice place for a day trip... The scene from the fort looks very nice. We can climb easily, if weather is not sunny then climb will be cool. Carry your own food and water bottles.
Good place for kids . A small hiking place. Some people brings their dogs ๐ also.No designated parking place is there. But may park at the entrance where it is possible to accommodate 7-10 cars ๐.Designated path is forged to the peak point or Fort. Steps are there for some extend.Ruins of Fort is not very majestic but its a good site to watch once.It is very good for sunset and sun rise viewA guard is there at the entrance to take names and time. Last entry may be restricted to 4 PM or 4.15 PM since hikers should reach back by 5 PMThere is no entrance fee as of October 2021.I suggest morning time so that u can watch sunrise. And it will be less hot ๐ฅต than noon. There is not urinals on the site or at entrance. There maybe some children at the bottom asking biscuits and money ๐ฐ. I dont want to comment on how I feel about it ๐ .Good feel๐.
Visited the place in the first week of Oct.A good place for a short trek. View from the top is very nice. Roadside parking available in the base area.
This is a good place for a day outing. Its about 100kms from Bangalore. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was less crowded not a difficult trek and its a good place to introduce your kids to trekking!
Nice place for a day trip from Bangalore. Initial steps are little tiring but the second half of the trek is good. View from top of the fort is awesome. As default for any trekking, start early and try to return before 11AM. If it becomes sunny, it will be tiring. Carry little water and snacks. Beware of monkeys. The temple on the top of the fort was closed (probably due to Covid). We went on a Saturday morning and there was not much crowd. Yes, do take care of the place by not littering with your trash. Carry back your trash with you in return.
Parking is beside the temple. Its safe. Earlier the better to avoid crowd. All vehicles are parked on the road on both sides, there isnt any parking fee. Small hotels for breakfast and other shops are all open. People are quite friendly and helpful in nature.
