Guapo Fresh Mexican in Derry

I’m from California and have spent months of time living in Mexico so I have extremely high standards for Mexican food. This is not very authentic it’s more like chipotle fast food. I didn’t expect much considering I’m in Ireland it’s food and not very expensive, but also not really satisfying if you like and are craving authentic Mexican.

Ordered a vegetarian burrito and received something that looked like a salad with no tortilla. Ate it in spite of misgivings and spent the evening vomiting. Vegetarians, stay away.

Mmmmmmmmmm. Probably the best Fajita I have ever had! A cosy place where you order your food and then either sit in or take away. The menu is great and price is very reasonable. I had a mini fajita (filled meand cost £2.20!! I will definitely be back for a meal next time.Just been back again. ..... fantastic! Now have a loyalty card.Added a 5th star!

My favourite place to eat in Derry. Always a queue but it moves really fast. Staff are fast yet calm & still have time for a friendly word.

This is a small Mexican restaurant where the food gets prepared in front of you with your choice of ingredients (similar to Subway). The food is delicious, decent portion sizes and very reasonably priced. With its location near the College youll often see a queue out the door for takeaway (there is also limited seating). Service is fast and friendly. If youre really hungry their "One Big Guapo" is a serious feed for £10 and almost beat me.

Lived above them for almost two years, Ive had to not have not only phone the council to make them aware of the level of noise from 5:30am every morning where they blast the radio to ensure they cook their precious food. Then they have builders in at 12pm who do nothing but talk about peados and people commuting suicide.Im someone who suffers from mental health problems so if you want my opinion, dont feed the sadistic war machine.

Easily one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been to, food is fresh and comes in perfect portion sizes. The food is really amazing and really filling, the salsa and rice come in mild or spicy options too. Staff are friendly and service is quick

Guapo is absolutely brilliant.. I never leave Derry without getting a guapo burrito first. The only place Ive seen people standing out queuing in the rain! Well worth it.

Absolutely love this place, best in town by far, staff are always polite & friendly. Great selection & reasonable priced. Only down fall is the size, if they had bigger premises they would do alot more business but dont let that put you off, order online & collect to save standing in the que..😁

Fresh, tasty, and cheap. What more do you want? The salsas, fillings, and toppings are fresh and tasty. I came for lunch but can see why it had a huge line at dinner time. There is a nice selection of Jarritos sodas to go with your meal.

Great food all the time. Needs to open multiple locations as the lines can be a bit long.

Yet a bad experience in here Foods always amazing. You might have a bit of a wait (worth itas they usually has a line out the door but the staff seem to get things moving along quickly considering how busy it is. 5*

Normally always see the big queue of people outside everytime i pass so i decided to see what all the fuss was about and i wasnt disappointed. Easily one of top 5 takeaways/places to eat in derry. Gorgeous food, lovely staff and good prices. 5 stars out of 5!

Absolutely delicious burritos. I always get the vegiterian one and its perfect. Pretty good price wise too. However I asked them to fill up my water bottle with tap water while ordering my usual and they looked at me with a straight face and said they didnt have any water. Didnt know derry was in a desert? Unfortunately I couldnt stay angry at them too long after I chowed down on a delicious burrito.

Great food with a friendly serviceOne suggestion would be to add fries meal to a burrito just seems like need something along with it. Will definitely be back for more 😋😋

Guapo is one of the best takeaways in Derry. The food is amazingly tasty and of the highest quality and the staff are also very friendly which makes a big difference. The reason that I’m only giving 4 is that the vegetarian options are poor. I’ve therefore stopped coming to Guapo since I ditched meat a year and a half ago like my sister. This is very typical of Derry takeaways which don’t cater to the ever growing trend of more people ditching meat. The supermarkets are continually adding new very convincing meat substitutes and there seem to be loads of takeaways doing this in England. If you are a meat eater though I couldn’t recommend Guapo highly enough.

Who doesnt like guapo. What a recipe this place has. Quality takeaway food at great prices which is support great. Its costing with the Derry chinese as a staple in any Derry persons takeaway menu

Shuffled in and out as quick as poss so didnt really have any time to look at the menu properly, got 2 burritos and 2 drinks for £15. The wraps were so stuffed that they started hemorrhaging as soon as they were unwrapped and became an inedible mexican mess, wouldnt go back.

My go to Mexican... Brilliant staff, fresh produce and extremely addictive! The burritos are gorgeous!! Its also build your own, so you can pick and choose your favourite ingredients and level of spice. 🌯

Got treated to an extremely tasty lunch at Guapo today! I had a chicken fajita with mild rice, mild salsa, a little drop of the medium salsa (because I wasnt sure how much of the heat I could handleall topped off with cheese and guacamole. It was really tasty and so filling! I loved every mouthful and despite how filling it was, I did manage to squeeze in the last mouthful of my the spicy buritto that my sister got! 😁It was very reasonably priced for what we got ... even more reasonably since I was being treated!I would definitely recommend Guapo for a tasty Mexican meal. They have good social distancing measures in place and take the appropriate Covid precautions. 100% will visit again!

Brilliant, just Brilliant. The price is very reasonable plus the quality of the food is top notch.And its all made fresh to order so you can pick exactly what you want. There is something for everyone, from vegetarian to meat eaters, from picky eaters to give me everything.Would definitely recommend and would recommend trying there glass bottle drinks.

Nicest food. A really enjoyable takeaway. Only negative point - staff always assume that the customer knows what they are ordering or the process in which to do so. Gent behind me was obviously a 1st time visitor and was very unsure, staff member wasnt assisting him at all.

These are the best burritos Ive had since I left US 5 years ago (I used to live in area where authentic Mexican food was easy to find).The staff are very nice and the food is delicious. 2 people can buy 2 giant burritos, share tortilla chips and salsa and get 2 fizzy drinks for under £15.
