Grutas de Lanquín - Tourist attraction in Solola, Guatemala
Grutas de Lanquín in Solola
Description
Privilege
Recomendadisimo...!!!
MoreIts a beautiful place you can visit if you are in Lankin, you must do tubbing, swimming in the river a great experience
MoreBeautiful places but dangerous one of most unsafe places to visit but thrilling and fun. Must visit ones.local guide is needed pay half and after returning pay full.
MoreWhat an adventure. This cavetour is crazy. We were very early so we kinda had a private tour just the guide and me and my girlfriend. it was insane for me to see that we entered the cave just with some candles - no helmet, no swimvest, no flashlights nothing. While it is somewhat frightening it is also super exciting. The Guide always tells you what to do and what to look out for.you can bring a waterproof phone or camera if you like.you will have to swimm, climb and probably hurt yourself a little while doing so.I recommend wearing water shoes. If you dont have any you can rent them there or you can buy them from a local for about 5$ a pair. There are also families selling food and little children selling chocolate close to the entrance. Buy it! the food is great and the chocolate is amazing and totally handmade (we saw that first handand the people living there are very poor.all in all an amazing place and a great adventure.
I have excellent memories from this place. Located near El Retiro guesthouse where I stayed. Its a great attraction for the end of the day. The caves are quite impressive and full of bats. At the end of the tour they will turn of the lights si you can take amazing pictures of thousands of flying bats, just by using your flash. 5 stars well deserved for this site and the friendly staff.
MoreThe gruta itself is not very special if you have seen some before, but come at sunset time and watch thausands of bats fly out of the cave. Its great!
This place is one of the most famous place to visit in Guatemala
Amazing place to visit. We stopped here on our way back from Semuc. 30q for foreigners and 10 for parking. The caves are amazing, there are lights inside and you can enter without a guide. We were alone exploring the amazing huge cave system. Very worth it!
Nul...
MoreGreat animal rock shapes, bats fly out the cave for food in the afternoon.
Unexplored caves where a river borns, nature reigns here, there is around 400 meters with ilumination and from there is full darkness and it depends on you to explore, there is also a underground cenote. Amazing place.
MoreIf you are a climber and want to go off the path to climb the inside of these caves... FIND CHRISTIAN (a local guide. You can go through the cave in a walking path that’s pretty easy and beautiful. But Christian created a whole adventure for us. From knowing all of the best picture spots and exactly how to take it to make it perfect, to taking us down a 150m off path down to the river, to taking us Climbing through holes instead of just walking on a path. Then he told me that he could tell my boyfriend knew how to climb cause that drop was a trial run to see if we had the skills to do more extreme climbing. He took my boyfriend behind the caves, to climb towers and ginormous stalactite with only a phone flashlight and their bare hands. My boyfriend rock climbs as a hobby and it was such a dream to climb a cave with nothing but a local guide as gear. He was absolutely fantastic. Made our whole trip worth it!
MoreA HUGE cave, amazing!!! You walk inside unsupervised and you can easily get lost there. Even though they have lights installed, a torch is a must. Extremely slippery, wear proper shoes. The parking is 10Q and entrance is 30Q per person. You dont need a guide, just go straight to the cave and enjoy exploring.
MoreThe resurgence is nice, but you enter fossil passage with quite a lot of damage. The best parts where beyond the electric lighting. A rope is needed to continue.
MoreBellisimo
beautiful
Nice cave near Lanquin. Totally possible to do it by yourself. No need for a tour.
MoreGreat
Super
MoreExpectacular
Excellent bat cave to see mass exodus at dusk.
Need light further in the cave
Excellent place
Bat cave. It is worth watching the bats fly out at sunset.
Not sure about the caves, but I do know you can camp there. Overlanded there a few nights in my van. Can be loud at night, but guard can help.
MoreExelent rio
A fantastically magical place. Make sure to bring your own flash light and slip resistant shoes. A tour guide might be necessary but we dared the trail alone and had a blast!
MoreBeautiful.
Great place but slippery and dark so take sensible shoes and flash light. Didnt need a guide, stayed until 6pm to watch the bats leaving the caves. Entrance fee 30q and 5q per person for tuktuk in each direction.
MoreTop
Natural bat caves
MoreNice views. Safety could be better. Caves are moist and appropriate shoes should be worn. The guide wore crocks and he had absolutely no problem. I had hiking shoes and was slipping left and right. Safety bars could hurt you if you are not careful. The views inside and out are breathtaking.
MoreGreat place
