Grumpy's Restaurant in Woonsocket

I got the chicken parm it was over cooked big time. Spaghetti tasted like hot water.Husband got the sea scallops which we small in size more like bay size but many of them.Service was fine. Wished waiter came back to refill drinks.

Ive had take out here for years, the food is top notch. I visited recently to watch the Patriots game, some of the people at the bar were very disrespectful and made the experience not so good. But thats not there fault so I dont hold that against them. Ill definitely go back, my waitress, bartender was great aware and always helpful there and ready to serve people.

Just around the corner from my sisters new Condo ...3rd visit from Maryland...excellent seafood excellent service...We will be back again before my visit ends...

Excellent service and good food.

3.5 Stars - The place is clean and the service is friendly and courteous. The food is generous and good. Most people will find the portions large. So you will not leave hungry.In closing the food is good, service is good but no real stand out here. I didnt see any wow factor. I will definitely be there again though.

Had the rubben sandwich, generous portion, sweet fries were crispy and flavor full, live 30 mins away, would come againThis pucture was only half the food!

This is what the 99 Restaurant wishes it could be. Very friendly staff, very good food. Back seating area needs an update (the back of a bench literally fell off with a bang while we were there).

Went back to Grumpys for the first time in several years ( I do not live nearby). It still has great food at really good price!!!

Came here in a Sunday around 5:30, it wasnt packed but pretty steady. Out waitress was nice but really quiet. The appetizer was served with plastic plates that had grooves in them from knife cuts, which made us feel like they couldnt really be properly sanitized, and also had the feel of a cheap, back yard cookout. We got the stuff mushrooms which were okay, and then two burgers which werent good enough to finish. Everything was cooked well, just seemed like low quality, very greasy meat and the sides (we had the fries, onion rings, and sweet potato frieswere clearly frozen and had absolutely no seasoning at all, not even salt. The single stall ladies room had a paper towel roll on the counter that had a gross, soggy top and middle from everyone needing to touch it with wet hands. The soap dispenser is not properly mounted to the wall, and there were baskets in clear view with random odds and ends in them, mostly what looked like trash. The decor both in the bathroom and dining area was very dusty, with bits hanging from the lighting fixtures and ceiling fans. The window sills next to our table were littered with crumbs and dust. The decor itself is pieced together and not very cohesive. The staff was very friendly and hard working, definitely the best part of our experience, but we would not choose to eat here again.

Good food, the popcorn is a nice touch, not to mention when you order an Angry Orchard on tap, they add caramel and cinnamon to the glass rim. Their buffalo chicken dip app is soooooo damn good!!

Delicious food, solid beer selection. Friendly welcoming atmosphere. Would probably be our go to hangout if we lived closer. Servers are,always friendly.

Chicken Alfredo was poor flavor. Seafood mac and cheese was a bad combination. Chili was dry and too spicy. Fajitas were ok. Bourbon burger tasted great but extremely messy. Service was good but we probably wont bother to go back.

I had not been in Grumpys in a few years -,what a pleasant surprise - the restaurant has much more open look than before when it looked dark and crampy - and the food , it was delicious with a menu that offers many selections - i will definitely return guy

I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT!! This was my first time ordering from here and the only reason I chose this place was because of the ratings. I ordered a chipotle bacon burger well done!! With lettuce. The first red flag for me was the lettuce. It literally look like they took the first two pieces off a head of lettuce and slapped it on my sandwich. But whatever I took the lettuce off and bit into my burger to check and see if it was well done like I asked. My burger was pink inside 🤢 and while looking I noticed that I bit into a piece of paper, like the one that separates cheese slices. I’m pretty sure the cooks noticed it and still sent it out. even if they didn’t I’m pretty sure they seen how nasty the burger looked. I’m so disgusted, disappointed and dissatisfied!! ** the white slice on the burger is not cheese it is paper . The cheese is on the side of the burger 🤢🤢

This was my first time dining at Grumpys and we really enjoyed it! I got the lobster roll with sweet potato fries and it was amazing. My daughter had chicken fingers with fries and it was delicious. All the sides are cooked to order so if you want a veggie without garlic or spice, they can accommodate you. The mashed do have garlic but they offer a baked potato. One family member has a garlic allergy so we were so happy to have great choices. The staff are wonderful and the service is great. Highly recommended, cant wait to go back!

One of the greatest restaurant experiences I’ve had in a long time! We were seated immediately and given drinks and popcorn before we could blink! The food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was unmatched, they were so friendly and fast. I will 100% be returning, they’ve gained a new loyal customer

I was very disappointed in my recent experience here. I used to come here when I was younger and always remembered it being good. I didn’t mind the steak and cheese egg rolls and stuffed mushrooms. But the entrees were not so good. The chicken parm came with a smaller piece of chicken which I wouldn’t mind if it was good but it wasn’t and the worst part was the pasta sauce they used. It was water and have a weird flavor . I’d honestly rather have had them used Hunts. The meal that my friend got the marinated steak tips had the flavor that they had been prepared days in advance and had that refrigerator taste. The chicken she got also looked like it was prepared and sat before reheating . Overall it wasn’t very good and it’s a shame because it used to be so much bette. Servers were nice but unfortunately the quality and price will not have me returning.

My brother and I had lunch at Grumpys recently and the food and service fantastic.The wings were great and I couldnt finish the Hamburger because it was so large.Great food Ill definitely be back!

I usually love the burgers and fries from here.... This visit not so much. Service was not good. Never came back to check on us or over another drink. A different waitress came over to get payment and never asked how or food was. My husband had the chilly burger and the chilly was not good and want to tell the waitress that, but never was asked. I will go back because it is normally good. First time in since the covid.

Recently remodeled. Looks nice. Best wings around with several different dipping sauces. Also they had some good $10 daily specials on full entrees. Weel worth stopping in!

Do NOT eat from here. My boyfriend and I ordered take out from this establishment. When we got our food immediately I could see that the pizza was hard and inedible. The wings were rubbery and barely cooked, I could tell the chicken had been sitting for quite some time. We also ordered the stuffed mushrooms. This is where I drew the line. The seafood inside of it was rotten and I had severe stomach issues for days. I went to my doctor and confirmed that I had a bowel issue from the food I consumed from this restaurant. This place should be shut down by the Health Department and I warn anyone from eating here. You will get sick.

First time ordering from here (diliverythe food itself was great but I was at work so when the food came no utensils or napkins I had to eat with my fingers I guess Im lucky it wasnt soup 🙄

Worse restaurant I have experienced. Ordered a Caesar Salad...comes out in a taco shell with bacon and tomatoes I told the waitress this is not a Caesar Salad..it has Bacon and tomato in it and I dont eat meat. Comes back with another Caesar Salad with wilted romaine, croutons and tomatoes no cheese. Really? My friends chicken quesadilla was horrible hardly any chicken in it for 15.00. Do not recommend and will never go back. The entrance was full of cigarette butts as well...clean it up disgusting

Well Im going to start off with the food. It is delicious 😋, and next Ill start with the service. The service is amazing wright when my family and I walked in they took us right away and the waitresses are so nice.

Lets start with the service, the bartenders are the best, Michelle and Shanaye are awesome. The food is great, and the value for the quality of the food and service, is unequalled in the area. Try the lobster roll, any of the overstuffed sandwiches, the baked scallops, their soups are incredible, including their New England and Manhattan clam chowder.

I WAS SERVED ROTTEN SEAFOOD. I ordered the seafood casserole. Generally I would not order seafood from a restaurant like this but they had a whole seafood section so I said what the hell. I took my first bite of a "lobster tail" and it immediately tasted as if i ate amonia and had to be spit out. Manager apologized and confirmed the lobster was in fact bad. Fryalator oil was old and could be smelled emminating off of the french fries at the table. Waitress had to be asked 3 times for water. There were long periods of time we were not checked on. Overall terrible experiance. DO NOT EAT HERE!!I would be open to speak with the owner as there were other things witnessed (illigal activityduring my visit that I will not post on here.

Id like to start by saying the wait staff here is absolutely fantastic but.... At the beginning we ordered garlic ranch boneless wings they gave us Carolina gold.... They were sent back and for the second time we were given Carolina gold... 3rd times a charm we finally got garlic ranch.... On to my meal ... I ordered steak medium rare came to me well over done , that was sent back and I was given a half cooked piece of FAT NO MEAT AT ALL a giant piece of sirloin fat which I refused to eat. Manager took it off and my waitress was an absolute sweetheart . Sorry that the cooks have to mess up such a good place. 😔

Uncooked scallops and over fried bits of batter meant to be fried clams..take off my bill!!!...TERRIBLE! !!...at least I had a chance to watch my wife eat. ..Thanks Grumpys...never coming back.Nice touch to have folding chairs at the dining tables!

I have heard good things about this place. Sadly though i was mot impressed.It isnt the first time I went there. The first time i was there i was throw out after taking 2 steps into the place. I thought nothing of it cause it was probably cause the person i was with and it was close to last call.But this time the first thing that happened was i got the stink eye from the bartender.i thought nothing of it cause i was there to eat not drink. So we sat down and as you can see by the pictures the floor was not clean and the chairs were falling apart. I honestly dont know why it bothered me so much. But i got the chipotle burger while my friend got the seafood platter. Im not much of a seafood person but she said the only thing wrong was hers was missing the clam strips but they subbed it out with extra fried cod.But my burger was underwhelming. The fries were good but fried a touch too long. And the burger was cooked the way i wanted but there was nothing on there it was a shot of Chipotle a slice of cheese and the burger. There was no mayo or lettuce or tomato just sauce cheese and burger. And there wasnt much sauce to even add flavor to the burger. I dont know if it was cause it was a monday evening or what but i was under whelmed compardd to the rumors and under impressed. I might try it again on a better day.Oh and the rumors say its a great resteraunt and bar.Great for seafood etc etc...

I had the pleasure of enjoying a dinner here on one of the nights where they were doing music bingo. Great atmosphere, great host, and great server. Enjoyed the good food and I will definitely be returning.

Went last night with a small group of friends and we werent disappointed! The food was delicious, the portions were large and the waitress was lovely. Looking forward to going back.

Grumpys ia a very reasonably priced American restaurant. It is the type of place where anyone would feel comfortable to sit at the bar and eat their dinner ,have drinks and make new friends it has a comfortable relaxed atmosphere while the interior is a bit dated it doesnt take away from it local vibe. The Bartenders are a big part of why it works so well they can multitask while interacting in a personable manner.I get take out from here often,my order is always right and hot. I recommend the club sandwiches and one of my favorites is the half roasted rosemary chicken dinner you cant go wrong with those at Grumps always consistent

The food was good and reasonably priced. The waitress we had was very accommodating since we had a toddler who did not want to sit still. Lots of menu options; something for everyone!

Like Grumpys, salad bar has only basic items, but a nice feature. Only complaints, bar area often noisy and meals are often great, but occasionally less than great (not sure why- still go.

So much food for the price! And the soup is excellent. Perfect time of year for soup. The menu has a good variety of choices. Chicken wings were a little over cooked but other than that the food was excellent

Service was good.Fish & Chips - fish was ok- not cod/haddock. Seemed to be whiting. Fries were old looking. Onion ring batter thick & pastie without flavor(sad because onions were good).Bathrooms are across Bar area which was unpleasant with drunk blocking exit of bathroom.

Clean, fairly quiet for a place with a bar. Huge menu. Got an excellent lesson on difference in chowders from our server. Good food. Great date night choice!

Im supprised their not closed. Awful service. The hostess left me guessing weather this was our table, or if she was just putting menus down, she didnt say a word to us about our table or a simple enjoy the meal. The pizza tastes like cardboard, and didnt even cut it, I had to cut it with a steak knife awful food. awful hospitality. Awful restaurant. I will NEVER go back.

The waitress was awesome. Service was very fast. Food looked amazing. I tried to eat healthy....not the place for that. Lots of yummy looking fried fish. I will keep this on my list if I want fried seafood or lobster mac and cheese.

The food is quick and tasty. The service, especially Sandy and Cindy, is friendly, funny, quick, and just all around great. The beer is cold and you dont sit long with an empty glass. Its a great place to meet friends for a drink after work.

Ordered mango Habanero chicken wings and onion soup. My wife had clam cakes and chowder. The whole experience for us was absolutely horrible. I had to wash the wings off of all the sauce and make my own sauce because it tasted really bad and the chicken wings werent cooked long enough. My onion soup was one big glob of cheese. No broth. Our soups didnt look or taste homemade. Rather, it was sitting in the kitchen all day. My wifes clam cakes were burnt and all dough, no clams. For a place that prides their food in advertising, they better stop false advertising. Do not go here. Its just as bad, if not worse than all the restaurants in Woonsocket. Very disappointing.

Good food and great drinks. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are big. I was laughing at the reviews, they cant be talking about the same place. The salad bar here is amazing! I have yet to be disappointed with a meal. We take the kids here often. I would highly recommend.
