Growler Haus Village of West Greenville - Beer garden in Greenville, United States
Favorite place for a week night pint & appetizer. Love the cozy space and the service is always outstanding! We’ve been 10 or 12 times so far and there is always something on tap that blows us away.
If your reading this you need to know this place is the top tier of top tier! The food the drinks to the service is perfection! The vibe of this place is so relaxed and warm it just begs you to stay for hours! The burger I had was better than anything I’ve found around this area and beyond! If I were rich they would know me by name here because I would literally be here that much, now stop reading my review and just go try it for yourself!
Great intimate place. I saw my friend play a gig there and everyone was relaxed
Ten outta ten, bring your people here when you come to Greenville or if you’re a local. Outstanding vibes and the service is just amazing. Spread the word. Meet Connor if you get the chance; he’s the GM and working super hard to make sure his place is great!
Nice place to drop in for a draft craft beer. Has a nice variety on tap.
Great service, great food and most importantly great Beer!!!
One of my favorite local places to chill with friends. Great vibe, awesome staff-just REALLY looking forward to some vegetarian menu options.
Growler Haus is a neat little pub with a good variety of ales, homemade beers, and some domestics. Its many windows and both indoor and outdoor seating (kid and doggo friendly!make for a brightly lit experience with family and friends. Friendly and knowledgeable staff ready to serve you with a smile.
This was my first time at this location. I was super impressed. They do brunch on Saturday’s and the chef knocks it out of the park. If you visit, the cheese curds are a MUST! Whatever the sauce is that comes with them is so tasty! Bottomless mimosas for $20 also - you have to order food to do this FYI. Great selection of beers, what’s not to love? Very dog friendly outside and the live music was great! I’ll definitely be back.
Great beer selection. The food used to be great but now it’s disappointing. The menu did not change but the way the food is prepared did. They went from the best french fries in Greenville to “would not get again.” Staff is friendly as always.
Great spot to hang with your friends. Outdoor fireplace always lit when its cold and some really great food. The burgers or tacos will not disappoint.
These guys have good beer and the best trivia in the Greenville area. Come out on a Tuesday.
I don’t write reviews often - but our experience tonight demands it. My wife and I went to Growler Haus tonight for trivia, yay! for trivia, right?? Welp. We left RIGHT as it started, for a couple reasons. Our bar staff? Wonderful! I don’t remember the ladies names, but thats just because my memory isn’t very good. Anyway, they were fun and helpful when it came to picking out our beer; by the way, they have an awesome selection!Ok, the biggest reason it’s only getting 3 stars is the food. We ordered fried cheese curds and the loaded chilli cheese fries with beer cheese. Let’s start with the biggest disappointment of the night: the “beer cheese.” First thing the bartender said was “I did ask to make sure the beer cheese was on the fries.” Now, i’ve seen blue cheese crumbles… feta crumbles… i’ve NEVER seen beer cheese crumbles. Beer cheese is supposed to be ooey gooey drizzled cheese over the fries, or in a cup on the side, able to dip them in…. YOWZA. It was anything but! It was dryer than a pimento cheese dip, which is insane to me. But i digress. We also had the fried cheese curds… flavor wise? Yummy!… that being said, I think I go my MONTHLY dose of sodium out of those things. Holy salty fried cheese Batman! My lips still hurt, an hour later as I write this. I’m not sure how the chef can justify such a salty dish (and to be honest, the fries were over seasoned too.And yall, I work in F&B, i have for 13 years, so i’m not an insulted Karen, i’m a disappointed good guy.Lastly, the Trivia. Gotta give em credit: i liked their sign that said trivia is at 7(ish). Thats creative and respectable and allows room ftor any potential problem solving… That being said, it was 7:32 by the time Trivia started. Thankfully, that gave us time to decide that our lips hurt too bad from the salty food and we couldn’t stick around for trivia. The first round? Somewhere around 6-8 questions? All from the TV show ‘Ozark.’ Like… what? A whole round of trivia based on a very specific TV series? Not exactly fair for all parties involved. Had we stayed for the entirety of it, there is NO way we could have even come close to winning, or even third or fourth place.Overall, i MIGHT go back to give this place another try? Not sure. Maybe if they ever have a beer cheese competition, because I would thoroughly EMBARRASS whoever tried to tell us that what they served us tonight was beer cheese…. That was laughable, Chef, laughable.
They have a cool variety of beers you dont always see other places and everything Ive tried from their food menu has been amazing. Definitely reccomend the cheese curds.
Love the aesthetics of the place. The relaxed atmosphere with lazy boy chairs and couches to sit on and unwind. Great beer selection and surprising great food for a bar.
Kind of a funky place with old school furniture you can relax onI ordered a burger with Cajun fries and ended up just getting the regular fries, which were good but I heard so much about the Cajun fries I wanted to give them a try. The burger was actually pretty decent though.Thought it was odd for a bar not to have Coke on tap. I got a can of coke, no ice, no glass.Visited on a Saturday afternoon and there werent many people but they had the garage door open along with the windows and it was nice feeling the breeze and watching people pass by.
Probably the best wings in Greenville, and Ive been looking for a while. The Asian Ginger sauce is awesome. Get a side of Buffalo to dip it in and its lights out. Thursday night is wing night: $12 for a beer and 8 wings with ranch/Bleu cheese, celery and carrots. Def. Worth it.Beer selection is on point, too. Something for everyone. Except maybe light domestics drinkers... but thats not why you go here.We went for a "tap takeover" and got some cool SWAG to boot. Definitely going back. Probably every Thursday Im in town...
Stopped in for a beer and was BLOWN AWAY by the wings and fries! I take my wings seriously, and these are, without question, the best Ive ever had. The "Cajun fries" were in the stratosphere also. Bradford was the coolest "beer dude" (aka bartender), and his recommendations were on point... yall created a fan, and should expect to see more of me, and I will also spread it around... Great work Growler Haus!!!
I love trivia and the cheers like vibe, the place where everyone knows your name!!Bell and Bradford are super awesome behind the bar, there are over 30 beers on tap and Kyle in the kitchen puts together a mean veggie taco! Seriously worth a detour from the cute main strip of the west village.
Great spot in the new "hip" Parr of town! Great local regulars and fun events to enjoy, whether its trivia night, live music or mingling with the "football" fans before and after Greenville Triumph soccer matches!
Thought that I shared my love for this already, but Im happy to do it again. The food was good. The place is pretty. Loved the outdoor fireplace. The staff was happy and friendly. The music was great. Id go back on a heartbeat.
Great as usual.. nice place to get good brews a bite and good music
I really enjoy growler haus. And during this time of C19 I was able to get there early and enjoy it before it got busy. The outdoor really facilitated and comfortable setting. The beers exchange frequent but are usually of decent selection and quality. Food is great for a bar.
Great food, music & atmosphere. The only thing I find irritating is that nearly every other time that I visit here the servers at the bar have their backs turned to the outside patio bar and have been ignored for several minutes (up to 10 mid youand I’m there when the house is nearly empty-early for moments at a time when they are just toggling things on their phone. Customer service is more adequate when the house is full. They always have a great selection of beer, I am a sour fan and they always have at least two to offer, they have a variable choice of drinks and an excellent food menu as well. They support local artists & have an outdoor patio.
Great ginger wings 8 for $10, maple sweet potato tots $7, Pretzels, Burgers, Chili, also build your own Taco and 32 rotating beers on Tap. Open 3 to 11 Mon thru Friday. Open until 12 Sat. Open on the West End on Lois Ave. Great décor. Bar games and Trivia, Handicap accessibility, near St Francis Hospital.
Some of the friendliest staff you will ever meet. Very accommodating. When you are here, you will feel like family. Tremendous beer selection and you have to try the sweet potato tots!
The environment here is so chill. Whenever I come here it is usually because I need a break from busy bars and just the hustle of daily life. The staff is always so kind and is really excellent and reading your vibe. The inside of this place kind of looks like your grandmas living room or retro- either way this is a place to be yourself and have a good time.Blood orange cider is my personal favorite cider! Go now!!!
First time there, heard great things from a friend. The bartender was kinda a jerk, if you dont want to work late maybe get a different job/ ask for a different shift. The fryer was turned off so I couldnt sub out for tots, had to eat chips that were stale, some soggy and undercooked , really oily. Not a great first time. Def wont be back anytime soon.
Love the beer selection and the atmosphere. They have really cool groupings of seats instead of the boring uncomfortable bar table and benches. This makes it a welcome change from a lot of bars. They do allow kids, which I cannot understand as it is a BAR! But aside from that, I really like going to Growler Haus.
The atmosphere was great, and the food was delicious. Went there for a soccer match and ordered before the game started. Didn’t receive my food until halftime, so 45 minutes later. Food was good but not good enough to wait that long.
What a pleasant place! Great beer selection with growlers/howlers if you want some to go. Great area to sit and hang out! Small bar but there are tables and couches to hang out at.I had a great cider that was on tap. I figured Id try the food to be able to write a full review. I went with the honey ginger wings. Ive been on the hunt for best wings in Greenville.... I think i found the current champion!! They were SO GOOD!!The bartender was very friendly and was very attentive. I will definitely be coming back here!!
Best place to go for beer and food. Great selection of beers, good minimalistic food menu.... great tacos by the way. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, everyone seems to enjoy working there which makes service great.
Extremely pleasant Friday afternoon. Furniture is amazing eclectic blend of hip furniture from everybodys grandma
For the most part the staff here does a great job and they are very friendly. But the management here has a lot of things they need to improve on, such as marketing. But honestly most of their problems are small in comparison to how Craig treats his employees.......... Petty!! Never again!!!
The best atmosphere in Greenville for quality, craft brews. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space. If you don’t know the value of craft, don’t bother. I love the mid century furniture/decor. The food matches the quality of the beer, and is comparable to the “west end” style of fare that is found in the neighborhood. Staff is competent and attentive. A regular stop for me. Rates as my favorite tap room in Greenville due to variety of taps, price, service, and atmosphere. Those that complain about service don’t understand the tap room operating procedure. Walk up to the bar closest to the taps and a bartender will be there within seconds to ask what they can do for you. Don’t just sit somewhere and expect them to come to you. That’s the wrong expectation, as they are busy and don’t know who sat down when. It’s very informal, and the most aggressive person gets their attention. Sometimes they are very busy. Go to them and ask for help and they will give it to you! They are very knowledgeable and helpful.
Very welcoming atmosphere! The General Manager Tina was exceptionally friendly!! Their bartenders Dillan and Ryan had the best recommendations! Highly suggest visiting if youre in the downtown area and are in the mood for some local craft beers, delicious grub and live entertainment!!
I would give growler house five stars but the food experience wasn’t that great. We ordered a couple of beers, nachos, and wings. The wings were jumbo, so meaty but the flavor average. The nachos were their house chips with pico, onions, black beans, and cheese. I added the chicken-which was cold and scarce on the nachos. The sour cream and guac was on the side. The guac was loaded with tomatoes and onions and very creamy… So not a lot of avocado! It seemed as if the cheese was put on the nachos and then zapped in the microwave. Again not a lot of flavor. The atmosphere was very chill. Had a local string band playing. Kid friendly.Couple dozen beer options ranging $5-7
32 great rotating beers on tap, friendly beertenders. Nice pub menu. Good times! Cheers!!
Cozy, good beer selection, fire was lit outside, indoor outdoor bar seating. Lots of comfy couches and chairs with some regular seating and tables. Good live music last Friday night, my only issue with that is it was so loud near the bar that you kinda had to yell and do some lip reading and sign language to put your order. Fun menu, build your own quesadillas, tacos and flatbread.
Awesome bar in West Greenville. The staff is really chill, and their beer selection is diverse and delicious. Dylan was especially helpful with some knowledge of local hot shots, and all the girls there are super friendly. I visited this place multiple times in my short stay, and If I lived in this area this would probably be my #1 bar.
Been to this establishment several times and like it Had the opportunity to visit Spartanburg Haus last night. Managers... you all should go up there and see how nice and clean their vintage couches and chairs are. Just overall cleaner everywhere Yes they are worn but not all stained and dirty! Also there set up and decor are much more inviting.Ever thought of a remodel:). Lots of competition in Greenville for craft brew industry!
Seriously adorable decor. It doesn’t look very spacious from the outside but the inside is surprising. My only complaint would be the lack of parking. I was told you could park across the street because the buildings are vacant. Other than that the Beer, live music, and space is great.
I rarely write Google reviews but I wanted to take the time today to do so. My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful time today, 8/18/18, at the Growler Haus West Village. The beer slinger :behind the bar was wonderful...friendly and courteous and was just great to talk with. We put our food order in with her and I asked for accommodations for my wife as she is vegan. She said it wouldnt be a problem; I later found out that she took the time to annotate the order with vegan. What really impressed us, and why I am writing this review, is what the chef/cook did. Upon seeing the order he came out to inform my wife that the chips were homemade and fried in the same oil that meat products were cooked in. He offered other options and took the time to figure out what he could do to accommodate the vegan order. It was just impressive to us that a young man was considerate of her being vegan and would take the time to come out and talk with us... It is rare to find that initiative and caring about ones job anymore (especially from someone in their early twenties). We just wanted to write a review in the hope that the owner would see it and he could pass on to these two people what a wonderful job they are doing; it made our day to have such a great experience. Also, the bartender was knowledgeable about the beers, did a growler fill properly and the menu/food were excellent. We highly recommend that anyone who finds themselves in the West Village stop by.
32 Beers on Tap, The Best Staff! Great Menu! Rockin Bands and Good Times!!
Service here was great, and I like the food. The menus is a little limited but I guess beer is the focus. One other thing: they advertise a discount on certain nights for residents of the newer upscale loft apartments nearby. Im sure this was arranged by the property management of the lofts and not Growler Haus, but this seems like a slap in the face of existing residents of this area who dont live in a gated community. No need to exacerbate the gentrification going on...
I’ve been going here for a while on Tuesday’s, as they have one of the best trivia’s in Greenville. They have a great selection of craft beers, including ciders and glasses of wine. Their menu changes, the pretzel is good and smacho’s are the best. Beware: they do sometimes run out of the best items in the night.
Place is alright spot. Ordered a beer that turned out to be kicked when she poured about 1/4 a glass. Thought she was just giving that to me or maybe charge a buck? Ended up sneaking in a half beer charge. For 3 sips of the bottom of the keg. *Appreciate the response from the owner. No prob. Will be back.
Fantastic little spot for good beer and food. The burgers are incredible! Music is on point with an atmosphere to compliment. Staff and attentive and have their acts together. Definitely a destination in Greenville.
Great tap house to go grab a drink after work with friends. Parking lot is small, but there are a few available lots within a short walking distance. The rotating beer list is extensive, allowing for variable selection for anyone, regardless of your tastes.
Great beer selection and awesome customer service. Perfect tap house for friends ready to chill and not fuss. Good atmosphere and comfy couches. Beautiful on breezy days with the window open!
