Birthplace & house museum of President Cleveland, showcasing memorabilia related to his life.
New Jersey’s only home grown president. Only one to serve 2 non-consecutive terms. He is telling me that he wasn’t the one who got stuck in the White House bathtub
This is currently closed due to construction, but it is a historic gem in Caldwell honoring our 22nd & 24th President. Highly recommend !
You cant get very close as it is a construction zone.
I love history and this a an amazing place to see if you are traveling through caldwell. I took a tour here a while back and it was so much fun!
Lots of new information about Presidents. Apparently there are 44 Presidents and not 45.
Great history
Historical, everything in tact. Guide was extremely nice and the sights were informational.
Our only NJ president! Nice exhibits
Great job by local historians keeping this landmark going
Very good vidit and guide
Very informative
Never open when I go
July 4th celebration was great! Interesting to visit and tour the house.
Wonderful
This was one of the best tours I have ever had. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly, I got stuck in traffic and she even let me have a tour after hours. Awesome experience, thank you!
Nice place to visit.
Used to see it, as l.pass by this place every single day as l live close to it.
Really enjoyed our visit
Very informative.
Its cool that this is here. To be clear, this is not Monticello or Mt. Vernon, but it is full of artifacts and has a sense of historic dignity. We were the only ones there at the time, and we were suddenly called out to pick someone up from school, so we needed to cut the tour very early; rather than being annoyed, our guide showed us the "one minute version" to see the highlights of the museum. Very accommodating, enthusiastic staff! Will return.
Fantastic tour of the home by a dedicated and extremely knowledgeable guide. Sharon answered all our questions and kept the attention of all the kids in our homeschool group, from preschool to high school. Definitely worth the trip. And, admittance is FREE!
The birth place is very well preserved and presented. The tour from what I remember was pretty informative about one of the most unique presidents in our history. If you are ever in Caldwell, this is a must see.
The worst of the 14 Presidential sites I have visited. Museum is bland and non-informative. No stories or lessons about the times or challenges that Cleveland and the nation faced in the late 1800s. Exhibits are non-descriptive and bland, at best. The tour guide had no interest in engaging me, but rather found it burdensome to take me around (I was the only person there, most likely the only person who visited that day). Additionally, the tour guide insulted and disrespected me, and gave an insincere "apology" when confronted. I drove two hours to see this museum, and only spent 15 minutes there. The tour guide showed no concern for that, nor for the genuine interest I had in learning about Cleveland and his Presidency. I strongly urge you not to waste your time here. The foundation has made no effort to engage visitors and those who might find Cleveland and his time period interesting. Additionally, the staff made the trip all the worse. Also, the only bathroom is a porta potty in the parking lot, which when I visited, clearly hadnt been emptied for a few months. One could argue it was a health code violation.
The best of the 15 presidential sites I have visited. Museum is not bland and very informative. Lots of stories and lessons about the times or challenges that Cleveland and the nation face in the late 1800s. Exhibits are very descriptive and not blend it all. The tour guide had a lot of interest in engaging me and found it ver lots of stories and lessons about the times or challenges that Cleveland and the nation face in the late 1800s.The tour guide had a lot of interest in engaging me in my tour. The tour guide was a sweet old lady I learned a lot about Cleveland and his presidency I strongly urge you to come here. The Porta potty in the parking lot was a little too modern I was expecting an out house. The staff were some of the nicest people I have met and made the trip that much better. I would 100% recommend coming here.
Great tour. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting. Would go back again.
Great little tour and the guide was awesome! A must visit for any history buff, especially about U.S. presidents....
Paula was great, very informative.
Its small but a good place to take your kids to learn more about Grover Cleveland. You can also try wearing clothes from that time period and take pictures.
Awesome place to visit, to to learn more about President Grover Cleveland and his legacy and learn about some interesting facts about Caldwell New Jersey;also American presidential facts and such things.
The tour guide is great. She was pleasant and informative. There arent a lot of rooms to view with that said there is a lot of history in the ones you can see. Not only did we learn about former president Cleveland we also learned that there have been more 1st ladies than presidents. Everyone she make an effort to see this house.
Nice
Well preserved house from 1830s with lots of memorabilia from the Grover Cleveland family.

Birth Place of President Grover Cleveland.
History
Nice historical home in a setting convenient to western Essex County, New Jersey. The home is well preserved and is to a large extent remains unchanged since the past President was born here. The staff is helpful and informative. Tours take about 30 minutes.
I absolutely love this place. So much history packed in a short tour. Knowledgeable guides.
A great place to learn some local history about an American president. We also refer back to the slice of the presidents birthday cake that is on display at the house, we reminds us of the Seinfeld episode with the entamins .
Had a wonderful experience here today. Our tour guide (a retired history teacherwas fabulous! I love history, especially about the Presidents. My wife is normally not as enthusiastic as I am. However, this woman was so captivating that even my wife told her that she made learning about Grover Cleveland the best presidential learning experience she ever had. Coming from my wife, that is an enormous compliment!
An excellent house museum devoted to one of the more obscure presidents. Its small, just a few rooms. However its is very good at showing what life in that period was for a middle class family.Very kid friendly with period toys and dress up.The curator is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable.
