Grev Turegatan 16, 114 46 Stockholm, Sweden, Stockholm
Venerable fine-dining restaurant showcasing Swedish cuisine in ornate, 19th-century surroundings.
Great kanterall toast, the deer was ok but nothing fantastic. Wine choices were great.
I mean its fine, but like its 100% made for old people. And the dj playlist was straight out of royalty free
Busy place, delicious food
Fantastic!! Brilliant food, great service. Try the Biff Rydberg, it was so tender and tasty 🤤🤤🤤
The mussels were delicious. The restaurant has a nice outdoor seating area.
Nice traditional Stockholm restaurant. Their always at groan dishes (the frogare excellent. But löjrom should be served with crème fraiche/ smetana and råraka (potato cake), not sour cream and brioche! But still very good.
Nice fancy place.. good food and service. Quite expensive.
Tremendous service start to finish. Lunch table on the veranda without reservation, terrific menu w lots of choices, food came exceptionally quickly, tasted great. Dont think, just do it.
The staff was nice. The main courses was alright and the desserts hade more to offer.
Super nice location with excellent food and drinks! I highly recomend the steak tartare!
A true classic with excellent food and service
45 minutes from the order to be informed that one plate was no more available. After another 20 minutes, we requested the waitress what was happening. After another 20 minutes, exhausted of waiting 2 salads, we requested the bill to leave. The owner very arrogantly informed us that that was a correct time to have food. She didn’t charged the beer and the gazpacho we had but we spoiled our lunch. Not to be there.
Great service, yummy food, at a place with a really nice ambiance :)
Didn’t like it at all. What I call a tourist trap: nice location, decent pictures, classic menu. What is in reality? Old place with plastic chairs, very rude waiter and bad service, overpriced. Food: the steak was decent, the bernaise was actually good, but the fries seemed to be frozen which doesn’t suit a 1500SK bill for two people without dessert. Everything seems old and we were wishing to be on the cafe across the street that was full of locals and where the food looked delicious. I will never go back to this restaurant and don’t recommend it!
Amazing food, and a very good location. Can highly recomend the fish soup
Decent food at a decent price. Need on a plank had to be done. Swedish meatballs were just like you get them in the UK in IKEA. Carbonara had an interesting twist with a raw egg yolk to stir through yourself.
Centrally located bar and restaurant serving great food and drinks. Unfortunately the service deteriorated during the evening due to more guests, hence the 4 star rating.
Been there since 1985. Spent a lot of time as young and come back every time I visit Sweden. Recommended.
One of the best pasta and chessecake ever! Bohemian rhapsody in your mouth! Will come back when in Stockholm!
A case of food poisoning.Had dinner with my wife on the 14th of February. We ordered scallops for starters and I had mussels for main while my wife went for the shellfish pasta. She commented that her shellfish pasta tasted bitter and seemed off (as an Italian, her opinion is to be trusted when it comes to pasta...and only pasta!)The service was attentive and the atmosphere was excellent, but unfortunately later in the evening, after 5-6 hours, my wife had food poisoning and spent the evening in the toilet.... Not the valentine we were planning for :/
1st restuarant visited while in Stockholm... This establishment set the bar high for which other restaurants visited had to surpass. A must for visitirs to Stockholm.
Went for desserts which were delicious. Super friendly staff! Nice location, nice interior. Okay restrooms. Really bad menu for vegetarians which is what brings down my grading one star. The staff is what I would praise the highest though!
Visited Grodan again for dinner Sep 27 2021We were met by a very unpolite waitress who just started to argue instead of giving a normal polite approach approach regarding a question about the menu.Do not use persons with really no experience how to handle customers. They should take a course before being allowed to talk to customers. We were very upset and just left before ordering. We visited another restaurant with much better service and to whom we paid SEK 1,300.So much have changed at Grodan. They were our favorite restaurant earlier but not today. This is our latest review 25 Oct 2020:The wine and beer was alrightWe have had a custom to visit Grodan to have Calfs liver during many years. (10-15). Most of the meals have been good and enjoyable. Some have been quite bad as the liver was either badly prepared, cooked or full of tendons.Based upon our experience we ordered Calfs liver again and pointed out that we did NOT want the liver with tendons.Guess what happened one of the Calfs liver was uneatable as it was full of tendons which could not be cut nor chewed. The other was with some tendons and not very well prepared. It was a bit raw.We cancelled the Calfs Liver was full of tendons and kept the other one with fewer tendons. We ordered a potato pancake as a replacement. This dish was acceptable. Our meal was not a good one and we did not have the dishes at the same time.Has Grodan changed its Chef? Why do they not have the custom to offer a small compensation as coffee or a desert or filling up the wine glass when incidents as this happened. We had high expectations but was sadly very disappointed.Last Year:We have visited Grodan many times during the years. Many times I have had Calf lever.Twice I have got bad quality and badly fried liver and yesterday was one time. The dish was rather small full of tendons and raw not fried enough. This in spite of at ordering asking if the calf liver quality was good this time and the answer was “fantastic”. This was not true and again the liver was raw. I informed the staff .I was very disappointed indeed.
Great food, great service but you need to take your time when you want to eat here. For me, that‘s fine considering the quality.
An excellent experience in food and ambience. Beautiful main room. Stay away however if you are not a fan of the high-spirited conversation noise of a packed restaurant hall.
It was pouring down rain and my husband went to this place with the kids while I was shopping nearby. Hubby ordered just a coffee. The waiter gave him a look which was the most unfriendly and uncomfortable. I joined hubby after 10 mins or so and we were considering where to have lunch and of course we didn’t eat there. As we were leaving I had to hold the heavy door while trying to push the baby trolley through at the same time and the waiters and waitresses were just standing to watch. There was only one table of guests inside, not busy at all. Very very indifferent staff. Never going there again.
Decent spot. Food is good, cocktails are hit/miss depending on the Barkeep. It gets noisy very quickly due to the amount of people that it can seat. Staff is very nice and helpful.
A true classic at the heart of Stockholm. It is in my book one of the best restaurants in Stockholm offering traditional Swedish food at great prices. Its also worth pointing out that the rotating lunch menu has yet to disappoint even though it gives you even more bang for your buck. Do not misunderstand this is not a budget restaurant and certainly offers high-end drinks and food with a classy environment to match. If you are in town looking for a place to have a business lunch this is the place.
Weve been there over 50 times last 12 years! A classic choice! Always kind staff but... yesterday the "Always in Grodan" - dishes didnt taste as good as always and the service was remarkably slow! Pity! Hope it was just an occasion!
The food in this place is really good. Size of the dishes is also fine. We had fish stew / casserole and pasta with seafood. Pasta was cooked aldente with fresh ingredients. Both dishes had a rich portion of fish and seafood. The service was not as good as you would expert it in such a traditional place, even though the food was delicious and served within 20 minutes. We did not receive the complementary bread basket. We had to order a spoon for the fish casserole (which has a quite "soupy" consistencyseparately.
Super crowded, like shoulder to shoulder. evening the noise goes very high due to alcohol. food is very nice, they can arrange on spot if you wanted to change the menu. definitely recommend it. before you go book the space otherwise you cant make it.
This place lives on old merits. Having lunch with some girl friends this place was now crowded, noisy with uncomfortable seating and loud ambience. Food definitely too expensive for the tasteless meal I was served. I did though feel sorry for the staff as the waiter was doing excellent job in the chaotic conditions she was working under. Hence two stars but will try not to come back.
Friends of our family had a great performance at Grodan, lots of fun and attractive music from the sixtees.
Dog’s friendly place with uplifting and warm atmosphere. The host and waiter were the two most smiley people I have ever seen in Stockholm 😀 I choose a Swedish vegetarian dish called Raggmunk and loved it! The look & taste is very unique!
Tasty food and friendly staff but the place is too noicy .
Came in here this evening for dinner whilst on a work trip and was so impressed! It was very busy but the host offered me a table at the back and was very accommodating. The service was lovely and friendly, and there was a fantastic waiter who was very attentive and helpful. The meatballs were the best I have ever had, very tasty and I had an amazing Malbec wine to complement it. Definitely will come back here when I next visit Stockholm. Thank you Grodan for a lovely experience and evening! ☺️☺️☺️
I’ve been to this spot twice and every time it’s been really nice! The staff is always nice and helpful and the food is well made. Sometime the outside seating is kind of crowded but other than that it’s great.
Very nice restaurant in the central Stockholm zone. Good choice of wine and beer and exellent staffMy reccomendation for all tourists who visit Stockholm
I love 💕 how they stick the knife into the bread. It’s a statement. So, The affluent class goes to sturehoff. This is where you go if you started Spotify.
Excellent service! The interior is more than beautiful and gives quite a formal feeling. The noise level was manageable. They serve classic Swedish dishes in a fine dining way, meatballs, potato cake and salmon with fresh potatoes, but also classic European dishes like steak tartare and moules frites. My food was great, but not excellent, therefore 4 rating instead of 5, given the quite hefty prices. We also had breakfast here one time, absolutely delicious! However, the staff was quite rude. This was not the case the first time though.
Best spot in Stockholm since the last 25 years. Dog friendly.
Just as satisfied every time I visit. Perfect place for both an after-work drink as well as for dinner with bigger groups and even office events. Quick and kind service, very good food (classic menu with French influences). Different areas in the restaurant offer different styles ranging from classic more opulent 18th century to a modern marble wine bar. Enjoy!
Nice environment and great service - the staff were very polite and friendly. My turbot was unfortunately pretty bland and not very interesting.
As the name dictates, everything in this place is frog-marked. The place looked good and the food was tasty..
Exquisite traditional Swedish cuisine. The vegetarian raggmunk is delicious.
This is more of an institution in Stockholm. It is located in one of the best areas in Stockholm and during the summer it is very nice to do outside and enjoy the food and beverage they are serving. They always have some traditional Swedish food on the menu. The best experience on this place is the 5 star bartender Sebastian.
The best meal I had whilst I was in Stockholm was here. The elk was divine. The desserts were amazing. Service was fantastic and wine choices perfect too. Would definitely return.
Cozy place. Service was good and food tasted delicious! It was a bit on the salty side but overall very satisfying!
Beautiful brasserie with a great collection of tasteful dishes
Consistent quality of Swedish and French classical dishes.
