Beautiful little rest area.
I honestly think this is the most beautiful rest stop in the US. I make it a point to stop here every time I go through the canyon, itβs that amazing.
Beautiful place to stop! Scenery is great. Lots of room. Clean restrooms.
Excellent place to stop! More than just a rest area, its a park along the river. Nice to get out and stretch your legs, eat a picnic lunch on a long drive.
Reset your expectations for a rest stop! This place is a jewel! A great place for a picnic by the Colorado River at th9 mouth of Grizzly Creek. Nice trails, r1ver access & good restrooms. Grab some take-out at Glenwood Springs or Vail and have a relaxing picnic here!
Only in Colorado do they make you do a hike just to get to the restroom. A very beautiful area though.
Not the safest feel at night... bathrooms not well lit, entrance at back near trail and many trees. I bet beautiful during the day!
Great rest stop location. Very good to also take a small walk next to river and enjoy the view
Beautiful area to photograph. Walk to to the river. Also a trailhead. Tranquility so close to the traffic. Nice restroom facilities.
This is one of my favorite rest stops. I love that its right there by the river.
Great rest stop, beautiful views, river access, clean bathrooms great resting are.
Very clean and gorgeous veiw
Nice area with great views of the river. Lots of info panels in case you want to learn about the area. Deducted a star because of the not-so-clean restroom situation. If you just need a place to pee, skip this one.
A great alternative to Hanging Lake, especially since you have to get permission to go there! Right next to I70 east of Glenwood Springs with easy access back on the freeway from either direction.Normal Restrooms with running water.Boat ramp and a nice creek to relax by.
Large clean bathrooms with vending machines. Cool walking trails with creeks running by dumping into larger Rivers. Very Lush and a great place to rest. Very easy in and out access
This a scenic rest area where I saw many river rafting. There is a biking route and a hidden picnic table. The bathroom is outdated thought it seemed well kept and there is a water filler. Worth the rest stop.
A truly beautiful rest stop. The river and canyon views are wonderful. Just fyi though, bathrooms are down a slope around the corner which was a difficult walk for my arthritic 87 y/o mother. She did it though!
Great resting spot ~ quiet & quaint.~ Recommend to go past the first parking area to the next one, just keep going straight~ Especially great if you have a cat or a dog to let out of the car for a while⦠I have a cat and I let him go free and it was awesome for him
Nice rest area with clean restrooms, plenty of nice places to sit and snack while taking in the scenery. There is a paved path along the creek if you want to take a stroll. Happy traveling~
Beautiful place to stop and get out to stretch your legs. You can walk down to the river and check it out. Lots of beautiful sites and cool rocks along the way.
Awesome rest area! Nice place to take a quick walk .
The bathroom there are Clean, a very nice place to rest all a little bit.
really neat place to stop if on a road trip. skip some rocks , stretch your legs a bit & use the restroom .
I would have never thought Id be leaving a review for a rest area but dare I say this is a must see. The view is amazing, you can walk right up to the river. Youll likely also see folks rafting by. Great place to stretch out and regain composure if you got a little nerve wracked driving thru the twists and turns along the way. Disappointed I left my phone in the car.
A great stop! Clean. Totally beautiful place to dip your feet into the freezing cold water of the Colorado river.
Great spot to get down next to the river & watch rafters load in.
Scenic and peaceful. Clean facility and parking options for all size vehicles.
What a beautiful little stop on our travels! We took a brief hike and a bunch of pictures. It was renewing to say the least! It is a popular place for a rest stop and therefore the bathroom needed more supplies.
Stopped here because of the call of nature. Afterwards, I was treated to some breathtaking physical beauty of nature. One of the most stunning rest areas Ive seen, hands down its a top 3! Clean, safe & very nice rest area. Its more of a roadside nature area. Stop to see it all, no matter the status of your needs. You wont regret it.
It has large vehicle parking although not a lot of it maybe enough room for five to six , eighteen wheelers all parallel parked in like three or four places along the entrance/exit road , for cars probably idk fifty spots . It has a restroom and a nice paved wide sidewalk that runs along next to the Colorado River . I am not sure how long the sidewalk runs but Im sure Maps would show it . One can access the river easily like five yards or so from the sidewalk in front of the restrooms which is really neat . If you have kids if animals that like water BE AWARE THE RIVER CAN SWEEP THEM AWAY INTO THE RAPIDS , but one can wade in a few yards no problem . I was there third week of June .
Nice rest area. Had a nice conversation with the state police. Good fit a quick stop and break. Its also a raft/kayak launch point.
Beautiful mountain river with a bridge over it.
Beautiful view of the five and mountains. Along withe rest area there is a boat launch and beach area. The river was high today so not much beach.
Clean restrooms, great views of the mtns, the CO River and a train went by. A lovely stop
Really pretty with paved and unpaved paths. It also has lots of parking. We enjoyed the many unique books and architectural features also, mostly due to the tight limitations of a highway in a canyon, so you find yourself walking under and over all kinds of interesting locations. The buildings could maybe use a renovation inside but I hope they keep the period look and feel because it adds to the charm.
Loved seeing all the native wildlife and a closeup of the Colorado river. Also offered shady areas.
This was the most beautiful hidden gem! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL
Great place to stop and take a break. Walk-up river access. Has a boat launch ramp, lots of room, and beautiful views.
It was beautiful to stop here in the snow! Bathrooms are very clean and they had some snacks if you wanted to buy some.
Most picturesque rest stop I have ever experienced. Got to watch the rafters, dip my toes in the Colorado, sit in the shade for a bit and enjoy the sounds of the water...my kids wanted to stay and play in the water.
Absolutely beautiful place to stop and stretch your legs take a walk dip your toes in the very cold water or launch a raft bathrooms well maintained very few parking spots for semi trucks but plenty for cars
Very beautiful! Theres a rest area here with bathrooms. Theres a trail along the water with a bridge. The rapids are gorgeous!
One of the best rest stops in the entire country. There is a trail along side of the river with beautiful hike. Couple of picnic spots with benches along the way as well. There is a cycling trail along the Arkansas river as well. The was was ice cold, great for summer water sports. The view is stellar. I recommend anyone to stop at this place for a quick stop or for a half-day hike.
This place is awesome. Im not a rest stop touring person, but a great place to stop and stretch your legs. It has a really nice trail along the river and a bridge with facts that crosses over it. The reason Im giving it four stars is the bathroom. It looks like left over pieces from a prison remodel were used. I was glad to not have to spend a night there.
Clean little rest area with a beautiful location near the river. Wonderful little look out on top of the bathroom area. (These are kind of tucked back..πWe usually stop at No Name rest area, just past this rest area on I-70, so the change up was nice. π We also got to see a bunch of baby caterpillars that got the daughter all sorts of excited! Bonus! πππ
Im bicycling from Morrison Colorado to UCLA medical for St.jude cancer research center if you log into Events.stjude.org and type in love walk Morrison Colorado Manny Fresh ease donate there bike path is an amazing ride check out my pics
One of the best rest stops in Colorado. Beautiful in winter with paved and snow packed walking paths. You can go down to the river to splash around if you want, or just relax for a few minutes.
Amazing, amazing spot. If youre passing through, stopping is a must. Absolutely gorgeous spot with beautiful nature sounds. We plan to raft here in the future. Definitely returning. There is also a visitors area with restrooms.
Beautiful place we just kept walking and walking and the sun was setting but we still kept on walking. MesmerizingEverything was so beautiful thereJust hopefully there will be toilet paper in the bathrooms Were going to be coming through again and more often every couple weeks
This is the most beautiful rest area we stopped at during our eleven day vacation. The trees were stunning mid October. A nice path to get out and stretch the legs. Easy to get back on the freeway. Restrooms werent very clean when we were there.
