Local institution serving Californian-style comfort food in a casual space with patio seating.
Attentive staff and great food
Deeelicious grilled veggie sandwich!! So good! Kind server. Ill be back. :)
Green Street Cafe, just as delicious as the 1st time I tried it, nearly 20 yrs ago! The food was excellent and the service was incredible! Definitely going back soon!!!
Delicious food! Server Ramiro is very attentive & efficient!
Great selection of American food. Great prices good quality.
Excellent cornucopia salad! Zucchini bread is a must, fantastic service from Jasmine!
Fantastic. It is a historic favorite with there Dianne dressing.
Green Street is a Pasadena staple. So good especially the salad
Tasty American food. Nice interior. Attentive service! Ive been coming here for decades and their food has always been consistently tasty!Megan, our server was EXCELLENT! She knew exactly what we needed before we asked! My friend and I ordered the Diane Salad, their signature restaurant salad, and she recommended to order the LARGE, so we could take home any leftovers. She also suggested to have the dressing on the side. She brought over TAKE OUT containers for our extra salad that we probably couldnt finish before our salads arrived. She suggested to put in the salad ( dryinto the plastic TO GO containers first, then put the salad dressing on the rest of the salad in the bowl and enjoy eating at our table. Brilliant suggestion! Thank you Megan! We also shared the apple goat cheese flatbread as our first course! It was tasty! The rest of the staff were VERY ATTENTIVE with smiles! We were greeted immediately by three different servers and when we left, everyone said, "Thank you! Please come again!" We left smiling!
Always enjoy eating here😋 Food is delicious and service is always great!
The cornucopia salad with citrus blue cheese vinaigrette was good after I took out most of the raisins and dried cranberries. The Reuben was crispy and savory. The carrot cake was a mess; it was drowned by too much whipped cream and caramel.
Amazing food, we came on a whim we weren’t sure at first but decided to stay, we were beyond delighted, and can’t wait to return. The food was fantastic and we accepted recommendations from the owners, they were amazing too ❤️
Great steak and Diane. The zucchini bread with walnuts is out of this world. I took a whole loaf home to my husband and he ate it all in two days! Great service. Clean restrooms. Dont miss this hidden gem!
Far from the crowds in the old town area or lake restaurants and decent food. The Aperol spiritz wasnt good, bitter, too strong and not a good prosecco. The margarita flatbread was ok but not recommending. Mushroom pasta was good but portion quite large.
I know the Diane salad is a staple which is good but their Cobb is amazing...and the zucchini bread...A+
Wonderful food, great atmosphere and perfect waiter and we got to eat outside. Couldnt have been better.
Ive loved this restaurant since the 80s. But, have not been there for 5 years. Things have changed. Except for the person I spoke with by phone to make reservations, not one of the people working there was friendly. Maybe understaffed or burnt out due to covid closures? The food was edible, but not real good. I wouldnt recommend it anymore. Its a shame.
Interesting flavor combos but they meld well and really hit the spot. Staff was knowledgeable on pairing drinks with the food. A bit hot for the patio, but it was still a lovely experience.
Stopped by for a light dinner and a beer. Quiet, secluded outdoor seating with heaters to make the SoCal winter more pleasant. If you’re looking for a tasty bite in a nice neighborhood, this is a recommended stop.
Green Street is another favorite, Ive run into, some of our local celebrity families here. I started dining at Green Street, when it was still on Green Street. You cant go wrong, everything on the menu, is s new jourmey. Simple & Fresh Satisfies.
Not a fan of big salads. Initially, the chicken tostada salad was okay. So, I asked for a container to go. Salad was made with cabbage and absolutely delicious a few days later. Which allowed the seasonings and grilled onions to marinade. So happy the salad maintained the crisp and fresh taste.
My wife and I just visited Green Street Restaurant for the first time located in Pasadena. It has a nice location although a little difficult to find the first time you go there. There is outdoor Patio seating along with indoor seating. It appears clean, not cramped, and well-lit. We ate inside and had good service from an attentive waitress. Prices are very reasonable with many good items on the menu. I had the Sliders and my wife had the Grilled Salmon. She also had the Dianne Salad which was very good and very large. The food was excellent, there was no disappointment. It was somewhat loud when we arrived but quieted down soon after. We mentioned that it was her Birthday and the Waitress brought a Chocolate Sundae at no charge. Drinks were good and there is a full Bar with specialty selections. Parking is available nearby. Overall a very comfortable and nice place to eat. Highly recommended.
Our waiter was not very attentive, when we were asking questions about the menu, our waiter did not seem interested in our questions nor was he engaging in our conversation or answering our questions. We felt as if we were being rushed with ordering. Usually our experience at Green Street is positive but today it was not.
My 2 star review is for the poor quality of chicken & service from our waiter. The chicken Was bland and not seasoned, beyond tuff, and rubbery. The waiter was not listening to us and his attention was behind him as he kept looking back and over his shoulder. I mentioned the poor quality ckn to which he could careless. The Manager did have great customer service skills and did offer a complementary bread.
I ordered salmon for lunch, a nice portion. CS was good and attentive. GS used to have a super pozole soup, but unfortunately is not on their menu. I hope that it will make its way back soon.
***First time Review, first time here.***Came to celebrate my baby cousins birthday with family. Really delicious food with large portions. I came straight from work, but they gad already ordered and were in the middle of earing. I didnt have to order anything.I tried the following. (I only know one of the names of the dishes I tried*** & only 3 dishes I didnt* but family took home... so sorry no photos... I was hangry!!!!):***Steak & Diane...Really a great order. The steak was perfectly cooked, but I could not get enough of the salad. It is a lightly dressed chicken salad made of shredded lettuce, shredded chicken & slivered almonds. I almost ate all of my uncles salad... HA! It was THAT good!***Nachos...The chips are homemade and enchilada sauce is drizzled in the mix of cheese & chicken(?). So good!***Zucchini Bread...YOU MUST GET THIS!!!! SO flipping delicious!!!***Pasta in cream sauce with mushrooms & spinach...Dish was really yummy, but what stole the show was the garlic bread that came with it!!! Deeee-licious!!!***Salad with blue cheese, bacon, avocado, shredded chicken..HUGE PORTION!!! Really fresh ingredients. Delicious salad! Great starter, but can definitely be eaten as a meal!!!***Warmed Brownie Sundae!!!This is what we put the birthday candle on.... What a great choice! Great to share!!!*Spicy Chicken Tacos*Skewered something*Pastrami Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries...These dishes looked so yummy & my family took home leftovers. I just had no more room to squeeze it in. Sweet Potato fry was good!
Servers were nice but coffee wasnt even warm and sweet potato fries were room temperature and soggy. All other foods were served as not proper warmth. I never go back there.
Lovely out door seating. Heaters close by keeping the weather toasty.. Great foos and Customer Service!! Have been enjoying Green St for several years! Always great quality !!
They had chilled bowls for salad, waiters very attentive/kind, and alright location. I get why a lot of people like this place. It feels kinda fancy and I get uncomfortable in fancy restaurants, but this one felt good. I would recommend this place for a first date, to make a good impression on someone, or to eat someplace nice with friends/family.
Food was great.. nice staff.. tasted Dianne salad for the first time. Had a fruity margarita very tasty but very little alcohol if any!!! 14 bucks wasted on that...
We ordered the Beet, Goat Cheese, and Arugula sald and a loaf of their yummy zucchini bread. The salad had big pieces of roasted beets, 1/2 sliced avocado, goat cheese, toasted walnuts and dried cranberries with cranberrieshoney balsamic dressing. It was so good.
Loved it. I had the best salmon and smashed potatoes and green beans ever. Had a Diane salad, yum. Nice patio, nice inside tables as well, friendly wait staff. Highly recommended.
Great food. They have a nice outdoor patio that we like to sit out on. Friendly courteous service. Our dinner came quickly. They are known for their Dianne Salads, which is what we usually get there. Huge salad, big enough for 2 days or one really hungry person. Really recommend this place!
The food was tasty. Highly recommend getting a side of fries. Cooked to perfection. Not only was the food great, but the service was really good. Very nice people who went above and beyond to give a customer a satisfactory experience. Will definitely go again when in the area. :)
First time having late lunch. Alex was super great. Everything was prefect
We had great food and excellent service for lunch here today. Green street is known for its Dianne Salad. Every time we come here, the salad is always part of our order. Besides the salad, they have amazing food. For two of us, we got a luncheon Dianne salad and steak. The steak was delectable. It was perfectly cooked to medium just as we asked for and the flavor was amazing. I just love the grilled taste of the meat. It was also very juicy and tender. The price was very reasonable. The service here was impeccable. Our waiter wasted no time to get us drinks and brought out the delicious complimentary zucchini bread for us. When we found a bone in our salad, he was quick to took up the issue with the manage and gave us a loaf of zucchini bread to compensate us. At the end of our lunch, he got us a tropical ice tea on a to go cup for us to take it on the road, very thoughtful. Now that’s what I call excellent service!
Beautiful evening on the patio. Great service, delicious food. Shared the famous Dianne salad and the Stephen sandwich! Of course I had to buy a loaf of zucchini and to take home!
So we used to go here alot for the past 5 or 6 years weve lived in Pasadena. We went today for lunch today while out running errands.Firstly, the staff was great, our server was doing a fine job, he was a bit overstretched though. The food though..... well some of it was great, and some not so much.I had the All American Burger with coleslaw, it did take a little longer then I would have expected but not glaringly so, when it did come out their were fries on the plate, I didnt send it back or mention anything because, I was hungry and we were short on time. The burger was great, the fries were great, needed a little salt but that is perfectly fine.My Wife order a Salad that came with mustard dressing, I cant remember the name of it offhand. It was drenched in dressing, I mean drenched, and the salad itself had the texture of being a day or to past its prime, not rotten by any means, but not crispy either. And for my 3 year old daughter we ordered the PB&J sandwich with fruit. The sandwich was great, and the fruit it came with was a bit of a combination, pineapple, grapes, strawberry, watermelon. The watermelon was soggy and old, you know how it gets when you cut one up for a big barbeque and you put the leftovers in the fridge for a couple days, just like that. The grapes were generally fine, but there were moldy rotten grapes mixed in. now you know, that happens sometimes, grapes get smashed and the smashed ones go bad quicker then the batch they are with, but things like that really should be caught before it gets served.I imagine what is going on is theyre having a hard time managing the quickly changing market conditions and amount of patrons they went from to where they are now and keeping food stocks at the proper levels, or their was a breakdown in their dating/tagging system. But that still doesnt excuse sending food out of the kitchen that shouldnt be sent out.
It has been a while since I visited the Green Street Restaurant and was looking forward to ordering the Dianne Salad. I met 3 friends for a late afternoon lunch. I was disappointed with the salad as it lacked flavor and the lettuce was soggy. Overall, the salad did not seem freshly made. The zucchini bread was dry. The butter squares served with the bread were so soft, you could not peel the wrapper off without getting butter all over your fingers.Regarding service, it could have been a lot better. There were only 3 occupied tables. As soon as we received our entrees, we were asked if anything else was going to be ordered. I mentioned a take-out order only to be pressed about it. Then the order was prepared well in advance of the meal ending, so it sat on the table only to get cold. We had to ask for beverage refills and no dishes were removed from the table; so we ended up with a lot of beverage glasses and dirty plates on the table.Overall, this was an unpleasant dining experience.
The absolute best restaurant I’ve been to in the longest time. Great service. Unreal food. Amazing, must go.
Salads are phenomenal and plenty to share the large between 2-3 people, zucchini bread is a must!
Great food and big patio. Friendly service
First time coming here and ordering take out during this COVID here. The Thai salad was delicious and refreshing with the nice mix of veggies and awesome salad dressing.
Delicious and yummy happy menu! And they pair wine or beer with it for free. Excellent! Service is always so welcoming and attentive.
Love the Green Street Restaurant! Salad Dianne and is so yummy. Great quaint restaurant in downtown Pasadena. Around the holidays I love to purchase their dressing and zucchini bread and give them away has little token gifts. If you havent tried this place its worth making the effort to get there!
I have loved Green Street for over 30 years. They have yummy breakfasts, plus the signature Dianne salad is my go to luncheon item. You cannot go wrong, and the wait staff is amazing.
Fantastic atmosphere and service. Great food. Large selection to choose from. Quiet restaurant.
Great place to eat. The zucchini bread is amazing. Famous for the Dianne Salad. The Happy Hour menu us exceptional, try the potato chips.
Green Street restaurant has a good breakfast selection, and the restaurant was very quiet in the early morning. The portions are really big, and come with zucchini bread, potatoes, or toast. Kaylee was a great server!
Stopped for lunch. Had a seat outside in nice weather. Offered both breakfast and lunch menu. Chose the lunch menu.Had the guacamole/chips as well as Nachos/chips. The chips were too oily. Nothing special. Also they do not validate parking.
