Family-friendly chain bar & grill serving American fare, plus deep-dish pizzas.
Nice staff, great pizza, wonderful blue cheese dressing -- and truly disgusting croutons!!
I went there as a group of 11 people and shared three pizzas and three salads. The salads were super tiny, not fresh and the chicken was as try as paper. It also had more dressing than anything else which was completely oily and not flavored well. The pizzas were okay and similar to dominos but bigger.
Food was good...Took some time for the pizza but worth the wait..
Very good food with large portions. The service was great.
The food is consistent like applebees nothing phenomenal nothing over the top but consistent.
Ordered boneless wings and a beer. Wings came out 25 mins later and were soggy and room temp. Service was friendly but absent. Had to chase down a server for my bill. Beer selection was solid. Go somewhere else if you want to be happy.
Took a long time to get our order (2 weeks in a row). Food was just OK.
Wonderful pizza. Get the windy city deep dish pizza. Amazing.
Beer wes undrinkable staff in cloud 9.Worst place I was ever in for sure.
You guys are constantly exceeding my expectations. I am a regular in the evening. Food is great as is the service. Kathleen is awesome.!!
The carry out is on time and exactly as ordered. An extremely reliable online ordering system.
Always feel welcome and great service . Never disappointed with the food
Nice and clean place. Very good food, moderate prices. Great for a date night.
Great food, excellent service and quick preparation. The Green Mill never disappoints for our family. From wings and burgers to pizza and cake this place has it all. Highly recommend!
Redo turned out really nice,..still miss the brewery,..you guys brewed some good beer,..dont know who made that decision,..big mistake
Great remodeled slow service but worth the wait food was great lemonade was excellent
They revamped Green Mill on Grand. Its really nice, great booths, welcoming atmosphere and a cute new market. Staff was quick and pleasant. There food was good, not amazing. My teenage boys really like it.
Excellent server, Lauranne. Super attentive, friendly. Good was great, too. Had the personal deep dish with side salad.
They burned my pizza. Then they made another one. However, it did not the the correct toppings on it and still looked burned.
Tuesday deep dish pizza deal (dine-in onlyis the best deal in town! We go almost every week.
Got the shrimp pasta. Tasted like tomato sauce poured over unfrozen noodles and shrimp. Awful. Couldnt finish it. Cosmopolitan was just pure vodka, nothing else.Only one waiter who was bustling far too much for one person to handle. Felt bad for him and went and poured my drink out in the bar sink myself.
Pleasantly surprised! Ordered a couple pizzas and the first deep dish we got was pretty flat compared to normal (Green Mills deep dish is normally well risen and delicious). Manager offered to replace or refund, I offered to give the first pizza back but they said to keep it and thought it would be an hour before it was delivered. The replacement pizza was here within 30 min and it was hot and looked amazing. So good! Great customer service!
Laureanne was an amazing hostess! Thanks for an awesome dining experience! Food was delish!
Love the new bar. The tacos were really good. Shrimp!
Jamaican wings! Yum! Flavorful and HOT! Juuuust like I love em! I always get extra sauce on them or the side! With the un-watered down version of their ranch sauce! Yum!
Perfect deep dish pizza, maybe dont dine in if youre queer, have any anxiety, dont blend well with the conservative type. Would definitely get delivery in the future though!!!
We dropped in for lunch on a rainy Tuesday in March. Our party of six was warmly greeted and seated immediately. At the start service was slow. The staff was short handed but soon a manager stepped in and started helping the wait staff and apparently some phone calls were made for reinforcements because new faces soon appeared. This was a family get together of relatives who dont see each other enough and we had so much to talk about we stayed for 3 hours. No worries, the restaurant made us feel welcome the whole time and even refreshed our coffee and soft drinks an hour after we had paid our check. I salute the manager and wait staff. They addressed the overloaded room with good spirits and responded to the sudden burst of activity with grace. The food was, as usual, good. The walleye dishes were popular with our group and everyone was happy with theirs.
I used to like Green Mill. A lot. I would take my son to dinner there at least twice a month. After a bad experience with the manager, lying and saying I made the hostess cry when I had to let her know my son was hungry and no one even spoke to us after more than ten minutes. They gatekeep for bad service and I am done. Basically, you should probably be white to be treated with a modicum of respect otherwise they will lie and make them the victims of their bad service. The managers are in on it. I don’t think they want to serve anyone who doesn’t fit their mold which is white. I can take a hint-we will not be going back.
It was delicious. The lobster mac and pepperoni pizza were really good. The service was quick and easy. Parking sucks.
whoever the ‘manager’ lady is on Thursday nights she is absolutely unbearable. every single person at the bar had empty drinks while she complained to fellow employees behind the bar about how hard she was working. as if! this woman barely lifted a finger- I personally watched her redirect every single task to her coworkers. multiple people were visibly and verbally upset at the bar whilst not being served and the sweet old woman with the adorable glasses had to pick up all the slack. really unfortunate to see this horribly lazy woman have such a dramatically negative impact on such a great place.
Ordered a Chicago deep dish. Outer crust was a little past crispy and the center still undercooked enough to pass the window pane test. Meat toppings were good but the sauce was lacking.
We really like what youve done to the place! Havent been there in awhile but there has definitely been a refresh done. Very nice. I did not order a pizza but thoroughly enjoyed my chili lime chicken bowl while my husband had another type of chicken bowl. Both were excellent.
Girl had a sassy attitude telling me to put a mask on. First its following the mandates, next thing you know its forcing customers to scan their vaccination cards. Im done with it. You think its okay to live like this forever..this isnt normal, Im not okay with this
I worked there for a short while after the remodel and was very excited about it. There were 2 new amazing managers but they hated each other and that made it very difficult. When one of them quit they moved a lower level manager into the AG position and it went to her head big time. She was yelling at me in the dining room and I told her please dont talk to me right now and I was taken off my next shift. When I did go back, I was fired for not showing up for my shift, that I was taken off of. I told this to Deanna and she then tells me that I was fired for insubordination because I asked Liz not to talk to me right now. Also, I was there the night that they refused service to a group of regulars. They would have been in my section. Id served them before and they were not a problem but everyone was acting like it was a big deal that they wanted to play a game, saying they wont tip. I provided the same service anyways and was tipped well. Its very clicky there too. The kitchen is the only good place to be. There were a few good bartenders too.
The manager, Deanna, was super understanding over the phone when I told her our order was a little botched. Even though our order was inocorrect, the pizza is always great. And Im grateful for a manager that went the extra mile to make things right. We will order again for sure.
The remodel is nice, but now it is very noisy and they have speakers all over and turned up much to loud. You could barely have a conversation at a two person table with a speaker right above.
If I could give ZERO stars, I would. The management and wait staff have been very rude the 2 times I have been in this establishment. I have tried talking to them multiple times about having a large group come in, and even with reservations they were rude and refused to accommodate us. We have a group of of about 10-20 people that get together every week, and they made excuses why they refused to serve us. Prior to the new management and their renovation, we would meet there every week without issue. They are aware the group would spend a good amount of money while we are there, as we have a previous track record. The GM was contacted, who seemed to be in support of us using their establishment again, but apparently the manager did not agree. I will NEVER set foot in this particular restaurant again - and I will make sure others I know are aware of how negative, rude and almost mean they were to us. I will likely will not go to any other Green Mills either as the culture just does not feel inclusive.
The remodel looks great and the staff is always friendly. However, the menu is really dated - even in its more simple form. Its a lot of flavor through fat like an Applebees. It also lacks any vegan options - even an Impossible patty should be considered an options. Your competitors like Pizza Luce and even Toppers have several vegan options. Heck, even Brasa has a vegan section.
Excellent interior. Friendly and professional staff. Very good drink menu. A little disappointed with the deep dish pizza - tasted good but was quite less that warm.
Food was great. Everyone in our party got something different, and every dish was excellent. The service was top notch. Our waitress was just the right amount of attentive without being annoying.
First of all my husband ordered coffee and when he got the coffee there was red lipstick still on the cup. He gets another cup of coffee and it was warm. We didnt get all of our food at the same time everything came one behind the other so we didnt get to enjoy our full meal together. I ordered salad and chicken wings, I got the clam chowder soup first it was pretty good but not hot it was only warm, after I ate the soup she bring out my chicken 10 minutes after the chicken was served she brings out my salad last. My husband decides to order a drink alcoholic beverage, so now that we are done eating he sipping his drink, two minutes after she served him the drink she ask are we okay is that it? As if she was rushing us out she did this about three or four times. The place wasnt busy at all I dont know why our food was so cold when we got it and why it was served to us the way it was served I will not go back there it was not a good experience
Wow the meaning of unimpressed is truly an understatement. 🤷🏾♂️Me and my wife decided to try this place out because she was in the mood for the salad and we had the worst experience ever. I ordered the wing sampler which they were not even up to par! They werent crispy as if they were fried and then dipped in the three different sauces that they offered me they were extra big and basically taste like they were straight from the freezer to the microwave yuck. 😫They must not be used to people ordering coffee because the first glass of coffee that I received had lipstick on the cup? 🤨The server seem like either she was ready to get off or wasnt really into being at work today because she was not intensive at all. She kind of rushed us through our order then when she brought the lukewarm food out the salad that my wife ordered was completely wrong. For the price that they charge you for the food here they either need to step up or walk away from the business. If you can avoid this place.🤦🏿♂️ Oh wait there was one highlight of the evening it seems like they might be more used to people coming in and buying alcoholic drinks because the drink that was supposed to be Jim beam and Coke seem like it was more of a no-name whiskey or either Brandy and Coke but it was strong I give them that.
Very disappointing visit to Green Mill yesterday! My elderly mother was wanting to enjoy a Bloody Mary so we stopped in and grabbed a booth in the bar area. Never got service and left after 15 minutes. It was NOT busy. A server that was apparently ending her shift managed to come out and take the guestbook & tip from her table but did not acknowledge us. The bartender tended to the 3 people at the bar & never acknowledged us. And one other employee walked behind the bar a few times & also never acknowledged us. But the real irritant was the Manager that walked behind the bar twice and 100% saw us sitting in the booth with nothing on our table and did not acknowledge us or sendsomeone over! I thought that most bars & restaurants were struggling due to Covid restrictions? Unfortunate at 4 pm on a Friday afternoon in a dead bar with 4 staff members that we weren’t worthy of service! Too many other bars offering awesome service in these hard times to warrant going back here again.
Wonderful tasty and delicious food served hot!!! Awsome Service.Had the Walleye. Soo good !!
We were a group of friends wanting to have dinner. We ordered sodas, lemon water, and coffee. Before we knew it, it was 7:30pm. All 8 of were trying to get to an 8pm meeting. The waitress was friendly, efficient, and fast, considering all 8 of us ordered to go. We left the restaurant 7:56. We made our meeting. We thank the waitress for doing a great job! Sorry.... we were all running and didn’t leave a tip. But next week we will.Thank you again!
Pretty solid meal with good service.I had the 4 cheese burger ($14). I thought is was a well crafted burger based on the ingredients. I ordered it medium rare. It came out perfectly cooked. The fries were crispy and hot.My wife ordered the chicken Pamesan sandwich on Pita ($13). The flavor was really good. The wait staff came and checked on us 3 separate times. My recommendation would be to increase the portion of fries or to add a small side of something unique to enhance the experience. The price point is close but just a bit too high for what comes out. The competition in the area offers some really unique burgers and sandwiches and larger portions for a dollar or two less. With that said, there are things on the menu that look unique to Green Mill (pizza for examplethat might influence people to return time and time again. We were somewhat hesitant to come to this location because we had a very mediocre experience in the past but it seems like the new mgt model took care of some loose ends. Im happy to say we had a good experience. Keep it up!
The Green Mill is a great neighborhood staple. The food is always good, as are the drinks. You probably arent going to get anything mind-blowing, or new or hip from here. But thats what I like I about it. The food has been consistently delicious and affordable for as long as I have been alive. Thats a major and impressive feat. They also do an amazing dinner deal, $19.99 for a large 2 topping pizza and order of wings. Thats such an amazing deal and one I get frequently.Tip:Get the old world crust and ask for your wings to have extra sauce.
We had lunch on a Saturday around noon. The place was empty except another couple that came after us. I was dining with my other 3 family members. The food was outstanding! The service was pleasant, but our server was a bit distracted and chatty with his co-workers that were bored due to the lack of customers. The atmosphere was quiet and it was easy to have a conversation. The burgers my wife and I got were outstanding. My kids split a chicken fettuccine alfredo and they nicely split it in the kitchen for them. They even put the veggies in only 1 bowl so my son didnt have to pick them out. Overall it was a very nice experience. It was around $50 something after the tip.
Great food good service absolutely love the drink the bartender is awesome
A nice venue with many good seats. Friendly service. I often get the same thing - Thai chicken salad. It is consistently good, although the dressing can be intense so best to get it on the side
