Green House Hostel in Dushanbe

Good: 60 som for a dorm bed, very cheap. Social atmosphere. Easy to make friends. Cheap laundry. Awesome cats.Bad: The kitchen and bathrooms are disgusting. Beds poor quality. No lockers in the room. Location is a bit far from things. Disappointing, I would not stay again.

Very welcoming, thoughtful and helpful. A true backpacker hub with an all-round balanced-social vibe. Rooms were air-conditioned, the kitchen was sufficient and secure on-site parking for all vehicles is available. Would recommend.

First of all: Best staff. WiFi is fast enough. Good location. Laundry, ironing available. Popular among travellers.

Really friendly hostel with plenty of backpackers and like-minded travellers. Plenty of room and space to chill, big kitchen with many facilities.Aircon in dorm with a few lockers. Beds are very used, so you sink into them and feel the springs in your back.Showers and water is very good, bathrooms are kept tidy, and there are washing machines too. Hosts can give lots of info about the area, country, and tours.

Everything is Good just Wifi is a bit slow

So many restrictions but good rooms, not for unmarried couple, bath tub available, requires visa and passport, but not very high quality bed. For 24 hours they ask for 220 som

This a very friendly budget city hotel / hostel. It is being refurbished and getting better and better. Were coming back after a stay in the mountains.

Rooms are tired but its still a great place. Staff very helpful, good breakfast. Wifi is slow, but thats just Dushanbe!

This place is great to come if you want to meet other travellers. The staff are very friendly, speak excellent English and are extremely helpful. Theyre able to recommend all sorts for guests and even help source items from Russia you may need for your trip that arent available in Dushanbe. It is one of the more reasonably priced hostels in Dushanbe. The breakfast is fried eggs with bread, cheese and cold cuts. Unfortunately the rooms are rather tired and need some updating- the beds are extremely uncomfortable and need replacing (springs poking through mattresses), lightbulbs need replacing etc.

Clean and green with reasonable prices bath in the room.

Staff is always polite and ready to help, everything is quite simple but clean. Great for adventurers.

Perfect place. Quite and friendly personal. Everything is available like wifi, bath, coffee 24/7 and most of all, there is good condition for Muslims, pray-map. Also for cat lovers here lives a cute cat.

I really loved staying here. Incredibly nice family runs it. They keep the place spotlessly clean and are always available to help out with anything you need. Well-stocked, large kitchen available. Good showers, spacious rooms. Decent WiFi for Tajikistan.

Cyclist rave about this place but we were so disappointed. Would choose elsewhere next time. The matresses were terrible in all rooms we knew of- we would rather sleep in our tent. Breakfast was underwhelming, one day there was fresh bread but other days it wasnt. The showers were really bad and although the staff tried to sort it put straight away the one in the room was still terrible- weak and intermittently cold. The showers downstairs were powerful but got flooded with water and you cant easily get changed unless you stand in the flooded water as the shower curtain is only for the shower not for a cubicle.Staff were really helpful.

The much hyped Green House Hostel was a huge disappointment for us. The beds were the worst weve ever slept in, the springs poke into your back and noisy when ever you move. The shower had no pressure so we showered downstairs. WiFi didnt work. Breakfast was standard (Tes Hostel in Osh has an amazing breakfast). Great for meeting other cyclists but that is it, try somewhere else.

Filthy and falling apart. Bedsheets are dirty, mattress was the most uncomfortable Ive experienced. Springs digging into your back. One mattress fell through the bed frame, bunk beds are too unstable. Bathroom upstairs was always dirty. Nowhere to charge your phone. No space to eat breakfast or sit in the common room. Very over crowded. No where to dry your clothes.

Stayed here a few days in September. Great place! Excellent breakfast. Excellent service.

Wonderful place, where you can meet every kind of biker (moto as well as bicycleand exchange latest news about travelling in Central Asia (Afghanistan and China included )

Great atmosphere; a hub for travellers starting or finishing the Pamir Highway. Lots of cyclists, like us, motorbikers and overlanders. The courtyard is a great place to relax and share stories. The dorm room is big, cool and clean, though the bed is a little springy. Wi-Fi and breakfast are good and there is a supermarket a short walk away. Nice to have the shared kitchen and tea and coffee facilities available all day. Would definitely recommend.

Nice vibes with different types to travellers. The host speaks good english and happy to help with your plans with pamir highways. this hostel is also a great place to find travellers to share taxi with.

Descent hostel. Has everything you need. Biggest upside is probably the chance to meet other overland travellers

Very good hostel! Staff very helpful and it is a great place to meet travelers (especially bikerscoming to & from the Pamirs. Large courtyard where bikes can be locked up securely... The staff can change currency & it is also possible to purchase camping gas for your trip which can be a pain to find outside of Dushanbe. Close to the airport and the only negative was that it was a little far out from the city.

Didnt end up staying, but purchases camping gas for a Jet Boil. Butane gas available of good quality and staff friendly. Have heard good things from those stating at the establishment as well

I spent here almost week, when I waited for Uzbek visa. The hostel is good. Super place for meeting other people, motorbikers, cyclists, backpackers. Nice common area. Very good breakfast - different almost every day. Staff is really helpful and nice.Only one disadvantage is very unstable wifi, but its almost everywhere in Tajikistan.

Great meeting point for cyclists, motorbike and jeep tourists in Pamir. Staff very friendly and helpful, good breakfast which changes every day , kitchen for cooking your own food.

Everyone brags about this place but really other than being able to meet so many people from around the world this place was average. No one cleaned the bathroom the two days I was there. The breakfast was small and nothing special. I would not give the hostel a five but all the travelers you meet gets a five.

Fantastic hostel worthy of the most diehard hippie. The common area is wonderful and there are plenty of options for sleeping.

I spent a week in summer 2015 in this nice hostel. Everything was fine and the best. The guys were so nice, either the staff or the guests, so that I felt just like at my own home. Everything was clean and the place was really safe. This hostel is located near the city center, you can reach many sight-seeings of Dushanbe just on feet.There are only two hostels in Dushanbe. Ill absolutely choose this hostel in my next travels to Dushanbe.

I was one of the first guests to stay at the Green House Hostel and absolutely loved my time there. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the owners were so nice! I really enjoyed hanging around the house and talking with other guests and the staff. We even got to go to a great little plov restaurant for some delicious food.Dushanbe doesnt have much for cheap accommodation; this is one of the few low budget options available. I made my reservation at the last minute and didnt regret it once! One of my favorite places that I stayed in Central Asia :)
