All of this beautiful animals have a tough history. They get abused from humans almost there whole life. It made me so happy to see that those amazing Elephant organization take now care of them and that they want to give them something back for their hard work and the bad time they had to get through. Now they get everyday a medical check up, they get everyday fed with a lot of food, get loved, respected and what I really like, they go everyday after all back to the forest, where they can do whatever they want in their natural habitat. 🐘❤️ Thank you so much Green Hill Valley Elephant Camp for this incredible day.(Sorry the late review)

Its a beautiful place, located in a valley 45 minutes away from Kalaw. They really care about the elephants wellbeing, by respecting their age and their health issues. The place is clean, the staff is very kind and the experience of feeding and bathing the elephants is beautifull. Its really worth paying the price, also, because you spend half a day reconnecting with nature. Highly recommended.

It is expensive, yes... but for what they offer, its absoutly worth it. It is a sanctuary for injuried or old working elephants. The elephants are taken very good care of, and as it should be, their comfort is of highest importance. So there is no elephant riding etc. However you can freely feed them, touch them and even go to have a short bath with them (towel, flipflops and swim suit will be supplemented). Since it is not too touristy, you will gave a lot of time with the elephants. When we were here, we were 7 tourists with 5 elephants. Also a large and tasty lunch and manymany ingormation in good english are included. If you wanna see elephants and do something good, go there!

We have had such a wonderful day at Green Hill Valley. The camp is in a stunning location. From the moment we arrived we were brilliantly looked after by the team there. The project they are running is truly inspirational with the local community benefiting from the work they are doing.Spending time with the elephants today was a highlight of a wonderful 4 months travelling! So much fun and a very educational experience. Thanks so much for having us!

We spent an amazing day at the park with the elephants and our guide was super nice (french speaker). We fed the elephants, helped with the bath, learned from the vet and they also try to increase awareness about their situation. Food served was really good as well! Such a great experience which I would highly recommend

Great to support the protection of elephants in the region. Youll spend time feeding a few of the them then help one take a bath in the river (incredible experience). Youll plant a tree and see how paper can be made out of their poop ;-)No mounting them there, and no show. This is a retirement place for elephants and a way to experience what they are close up for a full day.Kids can be there but if too small they may have a hard time reaching the animals mouth.. and the river bathing may be difficult as youll get in 3 to 4 feet or water.

I’ve only spent a day at the elefant camp, so of course my knowledge is quite limited, but it really seems like a good thing they’ve got going. Now and again you hear about camps where they use the elefants for riding etc, but that sucks as much as using them for logging - that is not the case here. You have the opportunity to help feed and wash elefants - both activities that would take place anyway.

Fantastic, professional setup. This is a conservation centre taking in retired elephants. The tourism is secondary. So elephant welfare is always first, and education for the guests second. The fact that you have an amazing time feeding and helping bathe the elephants is the cherry on top!

Its always been a dream of mine to help out with elephants! At Green Hill Valley Elephant Camp, I had the opportunity to feed and bathe the elephants. The staff also told us the elephants stories and how they take care care of them. The staff and elephants have a very good relationship, and its apparent that the elephants are taken care of quite well.Well worth the $100! I highly recommend it!

This was possibly my most favorite thing I did while in Myanmar. They are such amazing animals and the staff at GHV is wonderful. I think they are doing great and important work and I was happy to give my money to them. Lunch was delicious as well!

One of the most amazing things to experience in live. In this elephant camp you can feed, bath and observe a few, mostly elderly elephants. The animals are treated almost as friends or partners by the staff. As a visitor you have the possibility to learn a lot about the daily live of the elephants. The feeling when over 2 ton animal carefully takes food from your hand is amazing. The same when you are no longer affraid to put your hand into its mouth when feeding the bigger portion. The roughness of the elephant tongue on your hand...The staff is promoting sustainable living and is part of the chain of organisations trying to reduce plastic pollution in Myanmar. One can expect a great lunch, trousers, flip-flops and towels useful when bathing the elephants.Worth the time and money, it was amazing day.

Steep price for the country but a noble cause and a great way to meet elephants. Knowledgeable and kind staff, friendly elephants that always want more food and a good lunch for $100- totally worth it.

One of the best days of my life! The staff is so friendly and we could spend a whole day at this beautiful place. There was no rush, we could feed the elephants as long as we wanted and also bath them for 10-15 minutes. The price is totally worth it and you get the impression that there are actually doing "the right thing" - it is very important for the sustainability of the region!

This was an awesome experience. Sure you can hang out and feed elephants in Thailand, but this is something different. Myanmar treats its elephants better than I have seen in most countries where there are elephants and at Green Hill Valley you can learn and experience this. Feeding the retired elephants was great, but then you also have the opportunity to bathe the elephants as well. They love it and so will you. Amazing experience. Dont miss it.

Very nice experience, it involves feeding and bathing the elephants , as well as redirecting (which is basically planting a tree). Personnel is friendly. The bad point is the location of the camp , one hour from Kalaw vía a very bumpy and under works mountain road.

If you support sustainable eco-tourism, GHV is a place you must visit. The elephants are allowed to roam around in the forest and they work only about 4 to 5 hours a day unlike the poor elephants that are ill-treated and used for elephant riding. Although the entry free is expensive(100 USD), youll get to feed the elephants with banana stems and pumpkins for about an hour and then scrub the elephants body in the river for 15 minutes. Lunch is also provided for you.

Absolutely fantastic experience! The elephants are a joy to interact with. We really enjoyed feeding and cleaning them. The staff are very knowledgeable and well trained - we learned a lot about elephant life in Myanmar as well as general health, anatomy etc.My wife had similar elephant experiences before but found this place to be far superior to them!

A wonderful elephant camp, with only 7 or 8 elephants taken out from logging in the jungle. The elephants are released every day at 3.30 to roam and feed in the jungle and they all return in the morning. The lunch provided here was excellent all using fresh local produce.

Amazing place. Best example of eco-tourism. The elephants are all rescue elephants either coming from logging camps or from private owners who used them for festivals. The elephant, the mahoot and his family all come to live at the camp and the mahoot is paid to care for his elephant. The family is given a home, free health care and their children get an education at the school nearby which was provided by the camp. The elephants get adoring visitors to feed them all day with their favourite food, pumpkin. They also enjoy "spa" treatments with their visitors is the icy water of the river that runs through the property. This means that you get to scrub the elephant while they lol in the pools. You get to see how the camp is run and the projects they are involved with. Lunch is also provided and was delicious. It was easy to spend a whole day here and we didnt want to leave at the end of it.We stayed in the nearby town of Kalaw which has plenty of accommodation. The trip to the camp took about an hour and was through the most beautiful scenic mountain range. If you book online a taxi will pick you up from your hotel and take you to and from the camp. The driver waits all day at the camp. This costs extra. This was one of the best days of my life. Absolutely thrilling and exhilarating. Do it!
