Green's Lunch in Charlotte

Definitely the most mom and pop shop Ive seen in a while, quick and easy sandwich that made me feel like Mom made it.

Its chilli hotdogs, fries, and burgers, thats about it.

Green’s breakfast sandwich always a good start to the day. Always good and always reliable.

Spent over $10 on chili cheese fries and a chili hot dog. The chili cheese fries had no cheese and maybe a half tablespoon of chili on them. I legit laughed when I saw them. The hot dog had very little chili, but was maybe 6 inches long. It cost me $4.Skip this place. Ive been waiting to get lunch here for 3 months, and Im glad I waited so long.

I don’t know what the other people are talking about in these reviews. This place is terrible. The hot dogs are lukewarm straight from a bucket of water. Clearly boiled. Maybe you all like boiled hot dogs… I certainly don’t. Chili is 100% canned chili. I have eaten a lot of chili in my life and this was one of the worst. Fries are equivalent to frozen crinkle cut from the freezer section at Walmart. They sit under a heat lamp and have no salt on them.It’s nice to have local options like this place, a real hole in the wall kinda place, but the food sucks. If you prefer high quality food do not go here. These people giving it 4-5 stars clearly value the nostalgia over the food.

Charlotte NC, tradition! Wonderful service. Great prices. They are not open for dinner or on weekends, there is a reason! Making enough money, when they are!!! Good for them. My Grandfather introduce me to Greens years ago.

Cant have their hotdogs without the chili. There burgers are nice and juicy

Couldnt tell you anything about this place because after wasting money paying for parking walked to the door to find they were closed. Both their Google listing and the sign on the door said open until 3pm and this was at about 2:15pm. After reading through other reviews seems like I wasnt the first to have my time and money wasted. Lazy.

So when I walk into a restaurant I want to smell food. Red flag I did not smell no food. 2 nd red flag they have bacon but I could not smell the bacon. My husband and I order food there Bc of a tik tok video. We order at least $32 worth of food hot dogs, burger, bologna sandwich. First the hot dog was cold, the chili looked weird and the bread was stale. I took a bite and said what is this ( talking to my husbandI can’t eat this so he tasted and said the same thing. The worst hot dog EVER!!! The food is just horrible with no seasoning

Went to Green’s lunch about 3 weeks ago on a Wednesday morning around 11am and decided to try them out since they were the only place open serving HD! I ordered two hot dogs all the way and the guy that took my order wasn’t pleasant and when I looked up the lady with gray hair was preparing my hot dogs with no gloves!! Remind you Covid is still very real and handling food with no gloves is disgusting! I get to my car and took a bite out of one of the hots dog and it was awful! First and last time there! The worst hot dogs I ever had!!

Nick is cool as hell and whips up the dankest hot dogs, breakfast sandwiches, and baklava in North Carolina hands down. Prove me wrong!! Love the scenery and the charm of this place. Looking forward to grabbing an affordable, delicious lunch tomorrow.

This was my first time back since Covid and it was just as delicious as I remembered. Business is a bit slow due to everyone working from home. If youre uptown for breakfast or lunch, please stop in and help support this local treasure!

Great hamburgers and hotdogs. It’s been around forever so it must be good. Family owned and operated.

Worst nasty place on Charlotte. Hamburgers were cold. Terrible cold soggy fries. Owner was down right rude. Said food was good. Gave us a replacement order. Cook took burgers out of a aluminum container that was sitting on the grill. Second order was Worst than the first. Wanted my money back, owner was rude yelling. What a joke this place is. We moved in to the neighborhood really close to the restaurant. Guess what, see ya. Go spend your money elsewhere. McDonalds is 100% better. My advice, dont set foot in the Terrible so called restaurant.

This is an absolute necessity go in case you are a neighborhood or end up being in Charlotte. This spot has been open for quite a long time.Conventional southern solace food with extraordinary sausages and burgers. The stew sauce is hopefully acceptable. Try not to miss the onion rings! Theyre exceptional!

I got a western omelette and home fries. I should have got an extra order of home fries.... Because i coulda ate them for lunch too!! My bf got 2 eggs and bacon and home fries. It was super quick, super reasonably priced (like less than typical diner fareand TASTYY. we ate here while we were at a stop on Greyhound which is right down the street. If i lived in the area I would eat there frequently. I didnt get to try the hot dogs, but wish i could have!

During my lunch at greens I saw multiple german roaches on the countertop underneath the drink machine. To see one during the day means limited space for harborage areas. I quietly told the owner and he seemed to already be aware of the problem and brushed it off as if it wasnt a problem. German roaches are filthy people.

This place manages to make really inexpensive food and ingredients into something amazing-I had hot dogs "all the way" and some crinkle cut fries for lunch today, and while its nothing fancy, the food was amazing and altogether it was just the right size for lunch.As I live nearby, I wish they were open for dinner as well when Im looking for something quick and cheap without cooking.dont ever change.

The hotdogs here are delectable. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. There is an old school nostalgic vibe throughout. The breakfast here is filling and very inexpensive compared to the rest of the uptown area.

I thought you were gone. I loved this spot when I was downtown. Drove past the old spot behind the jail and saw a bonding company. I told my kids of the landmark and now Ill be taking them Friday if open. Excellent Food!!

Fun little quaint place over by the stadium with a long history. Staff is warm and friendly and the food is great. We will be back the next time were in the area for some more fun and good food.

This place is a Carolina tradition. I highly recommend the chili dog. I love greens, but it is not the highest quality food, but it is a place I feel everyone should try. I am not giving this place 5 stars for the food, but because it holds a special place in my heart and the experience is well worth it.

This place serves up the best dogs in town. Make sure to grab the chili dog. And they are fairly quick. They have been around since early 1900s and the decor shows. Excellent experience...like stepping into a restaurant time machine.

A good joint that doesnt pretend to be anything else. Quickly-made American classics like burgers, hot dogs, fries, and onion rings, plus some extra stuff on the side like ice cream. Super casual place to grab a bite of grub and hang out. The atmosphere is pretty unique and definitely shows the stores long history. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

We found them online. We stopped in Wednesday for lunch.. They were very friendly. We had a huge crowd with us. They took our orders was very polite got everything right. The food was great! Everyone was very nice. They happily gave us refills. Then when leaving thanks us again. The price was right also.

This is a must go if you are a local or happen to be in Charlotte. This place has been open for decades.Traditional southern comfort food with great hot dogs and burgers. The chili sauce is as good as it gets. Don’t miss the onion rings! They’re outstanding!

Casset tapes are nostalgic but nobody plays the anymore. Hot dogs were very plane and small. I asked for cheese and they put a slice of cheese instead of melted cheese. Dont get a burger as theres little to no meat Think of those box of frozen patties at Aldis that go for $8.99 for 100. I will say its pretty cheap. Otherwise, nostalgic.

Definitely overrated for their hot dogs. Id pick JJs Red Hot any day of the week. Just a regular hot dog with not so good chili, maybe their known for the burgers? I dunno but I honestly dont see how they get voted Best Hot Dog in Charlotte....cant be right. Also it cost $11 to park in the parking lot because they dont have any parking. So yeah me parking cost more than my meal itself.

I would not recommend this place. Visited thinking wed get a great hot dog & drink. Well the hot dog/bun was mushy. Clearly they use the cheapest chili on the market. The hot dog is probably not even beef because it didnt taste like it. The drinks were pure syrup. They were flat & tasteless. To top it off, I realized that the male cashier charged me almost $10 too much. He had no clue and when I went back to the counter to get my refund he was expressionless and never even apologized for his mistake. Wonder how many other people he has cheated?? This might be a common practice, I highly recommend that you check your receipt.

Best hotdog in Charlotte. It will cost you $11 to park there, as they have no parking for the restaurant. Staff is always great; friendly, courteous and quick. Hamburgers are good, fries are excellent. Truly an enjoyable experience

The food was made once we ordered, the fries were hot. The hot dogs were ok but the b.l.t. was great.The staff was friendly and made everyone feel welcome. This was my first time going and the owner talked to me like I was an everyday customer.

This might look like a little hole in the wall, but dont pass by this place! Parking is very difficult because the adjacent lots are monthly only (I talked to the meter maid), but if you can find a spot on the street or walk, this restaurant is worth your effort! I usually get 2 hot dogs and a hamburger and water, its like $7 and the people behind the counter Ive talked to each time are so friendly. They legitimately act like they love their job and love chatting you up. I dig it, and I go there fairly often now during lunch because my office is close by.

Great food, friendly services and great prices. Love their breakfast. Have happily eaten here for over fifteen years. Greens Lunch is the best.
