Grandview Overlook in Pittsburgh

A must visit place when traveling to the beautiful city of Pittsburgh. There’s a great scenic view of the city from this location. It has some of the oldest buildings in the area. Parking is curb side and very limited. Do not attempt to go there by bike or scooter as the hill is very steep.

Majical view of the city and easy to get to with parking

Never disappointed by the view here. Great if its your first-time visiting Pittsburgh or youve never been there. Nothing here other than the view and parking is tight.

Cool spot to see downtown Pittsburgh. The neighborhood around this outlook also has some old-school charm. Highly recommend for first-time visitors.

Beautiful place to watch downtown Pittsburgh and the Monongahela River. You can see beautiful color transition in the sky during sunset. At night the view is magnificent. All the buildings light up and the reflection on the water is just breathtaking. Highly recommended.

Went at sunset and the view was spectacular. It was quite cold on a late September evening Lol. Recommend a good jacket

The view would have been great if there wasnt so much foliage overgrowth blocking much of the view. It was still a good Vista though.

The Grandview Overlook boasts the perfect view of Pittsburghs Golden Triangle. The Overlook, as it is called by locals, is located on Mount Washington, a 450-foot hill that is popular among residents and tourists alike. The Overlook runs the length of Mount Washington and provides vantage points of Pittsburghs beautiful Skyline.we parked street side parking and enjoyed the look from the 2 overlooks. both are adjacent to each other.The Grandview Overlook is also located within the impressive Emerald View Park, a 257-acre park that consists of the Grandview Scenic Byway, and three historic spaces; the Grandview Overlook, Olympia, and Mount Washington.It is a perfect spot to watch a gorgeous Pittsburgh sunset. and free to visit.

Awesome place to catch a glimpse of the city. The night lights are the best and I am sure the morning views are excellent too.

From downtown to Grandview Overlook a early morning run, perhaps 3 miles. Yes its steep, you need to take care as some areas have no pavement. Sunrise directly behind the downtown towers On the way down, if you’re really lucky and quiet you’ll see some deer joining you downhill. Yup deer!!!

The place to see the skyline of Pittsburg. The skyline is as beautiful as it can be. There some construction work going on on the overlook. Currently it is closed. Still the skyline can be viewed from the un barricaded sides.

Amazing view of the city. Always an amazing place to be. With a venue stage, seating around the stage, fenced walkways behind the stage, binocular machines, and a trail to follow through the beautiful scenery, the Grandview Overlook park speaks the voice of this beautiful city.

Breathtaking view of the city, day or night. Free street parking, plenty of access. You can stand on the sidewalk or they have places you can walk out farther, almost like a balcony. Highly recommend it. If you are from the area, and especially if youre from out of city/state/country, I encourage everyone to go check it out. You wont regret it.

Beautiful views of the city with quite a few different scenic overlooks. Quite photogenic for shots of the city skyline or the bridges. Great way to get a sense of how beaitiful the city can be.

Nice view of the city! Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. Not too over crowded, it was a nice stop for a short evening stroll.

Great spot. Amazing location to see everything from downtown to almost the point, thats covered by the trees on the hill. But otherwise a great spot.

Views from up here are gorgeous! (And its free.)There are two overlook points/pullouts and sidewalk all along to stand and admire (and take pictures!).We stayed about 15 mins.I couldnt find parking next to the viewpoint, so i parked in an alley nearby.

A thrilling spectacular view of Pittsburgh downtown!

Good spot to catch an expansive view of downtown, the science museum, Heinz field as well as the confluence of the 3 rivers.

The views of downtown Pittsburgh from here are just breathtaking. Its free to visit and theres also free street parking close by. We didnt have trouble finding a spot. There are no other visitor amenities.On a sunny day, plan to come here around noon (or laterfor the best photos. If you are here during the morning hours, youll be facing the sun directly, so photos will be very glary. Bring a good camera.

Have to visit when touring the city! Was my first time. I could not come at night, but still a sight to view during the day!

Still my favorite place in the city! Theyve really cleaned it up over the years, and despite how busy it gets, you can typically find on street parking fairly easily during non-event times (ie 4th of July). There are plenty of folks willing to take your pictures for you if you go alone, just be prepared to teach them how you want it done😁 (you know, angles are everything!)

Beautiful Panoramic view of the skyline of Pittsburg. Parking is on the streets. We strolled through the sidewalks soaking in the views. Wish we had gone there during evening to catch a glimpse of the skyline during night with the all the lights.

one of the best sights in Pittsburgh, there is not only one point to photograph the city, you can take a short walk to go through Grandview to see different views, great for day and night photos as it has great lighting. Offer to take other peoples pictures too!

This view left me astonished. Pittsburgh is one of the prettiest cities in the United States. The breathtaking view of the city at night is even more impressive. Every time I visit from out of town I enjoy this city more than previously.

Lovely view of the downtown and the golden triangle and the point state park. We enjoyed walking by the sidewalk. Cars can be parked along the side walk itself

Simply awesome. Try and reach late evening during daylight and then stay until its gets dark. Downtown looks superb. Wish the fountain at point state park was operational, view would have been even better.

One of the best spots to view the city. There are different lookout pillers that give you different angles of the city. Definitely worth checking out especially at night when the city is all lit up!

Beautiful view. You can see all the bridges in a nice skyline from the city. Not much parking when there’s mass on the church. But you can find places to park there. Love it

Amazing view of Pittsburgh skyline. Visited during daytime, but thought that city lights would look amazing in the night hours, and spot on! As the lights started to turn on after sunset, it looked absolutely beautiful. Must watch!! Easy bokeh effects with a decent camera!!

This is easily the most Majestic place in Pittsburgh. If you are on a date definitely take her here. Shiloh street is right down the road and has a number of really good restaurants and bars as well as a terrific ice cream place.. This is one of the best city views in the country so dont miss it

Best view of the city! It was my husband’s first trip to PGH and he was so impressed. Between our amazing hotel, the strip district, and Mount Washington, he has a whole new opinion of Steel City!

Hands down the best view of Pittsburgh. One of the greatest skyline viewpoints that I have visited. Up there with the view of manhatten from brooklyn or the view of LA from the griffith. Fantastic.

Amazing view of Pittsburgh on top of Grandview Avenue on Mount Washington. The walkway extends throughout the entire avenue and paid parking can be found on the street or free parking on Ulysses Street, next to the church.

Now this is a billion dollar view right here. You can see the whole of downtown Pittsburgh from up here. Make sure to come when the sun is setting. The sunset reflects the light off the skyscrapers beautifully. There is parking in the street here. There are also beautiful homes along the street.

This location offers an amazing view of the city. I went on a 96° day with virtually no clouds and just a bit of haze. The views were astonishing. There is street parking for 1$ per 15 min. There is also a deck of sorts that projects out and offers the breathtaking views of the city. Worth going to. Take a cup of coffee or a cold water and enjoy!

A fun experience for a kid of any age. Im glad we parked down by the river and saved the best part of the trip for last, which was the expansive view of the Steel City. Be sure to have cash. Ride is $5/adult up and down the mountain.

Excellent place to get a good view of the city, and have fun with friends well enjoying a nice relaxing night. pretty busy with tourists in the summertime, but you always have fun here. The bikers around the area can get kind of loud, so plan accordingly and walk around Shiloh Street when theyre loud.
