Homestyle American cooking offered in a spacious buffet restaurant resembling a red barn.
Dont bother coming here. They are closed.
best buffet/general "real food" restaurant in North Carolina. So rare to find a place where the service and food are equally as exceptional. Hardest part was knowing when you have had enough and its time to head out,10/10 service10/10 Food
The food and service quality has gone down drastically. Bathrooms are Disgusting...... The wait staff is slacking on clearing plates and refills. Food quality has gone down so much, the waiting for food to come out. My family used to enjoy going there but the last 3 times that we have gone we have not enjoyed anything about this location. There is a lot of room for improvement.
This Grandsons is closer to where I live. I used to go to the one in Hope Mills every Sunday and every other Saturday so its good to know there is one nearer where I live.My Daughter and some of my Grandsons were their December 31, 2019.
My friend and I met for lunch. The buffet display was plentiful, clean and appetizing. Grandsons offers an extensive array of Southern cuisine, a fresh assortment of items in the salad bar, and desserts galore--even ice cream cups and sandwiches. All the food was very appealing..Our server, Christy, was attentive and pleasant. She had a friendly attitude with everyone. Even though she was busy, she still had a genuine smile.
Great variety of food, some better seasoned than others. Robyn is a great server. Had an issue with 2 of the heavy-set employees, brought it up to manager and district....at least the bathrooms finally got cleaned.
Salad bar was decent, after that it was all downhill. I dont understand the reviews for this place, as it was why we decided to try it. There was absolutely no flavor to anything except the breading on fried chicken. Meatloaf had no flavor, pulled pork was soggy in water, mac and cheese was bland, mashed potatos were bland. I dont get it.
The service was good. Food was hot and trays were full. I wasnt impressed with some of the options or flavor but maybe I just wasnt used to true southern type items. I went due to the many positive reviews.
Great desserts (large selection, I enjoyed the peach cobblerfried chicken, pork chops, shrimp, vegetables, biscuits, and yes they even have a salad bar — a reasonable price for the HUGE selection. The waitress was super friendly, and my tea glass was never empty.
First time there. From out of town and wasnt familiar with the restaurant. Walked in and told the girls at the counter that this was our first time here. They explained how everything worked and what food was where. Our waitress was very attentive, something you dont see a lot in buffet restaurants. Everything we tried was definitely country cooking. We will stop here again the next time were in town. If you like buffet restaurants with good food I would recommend Grandsons.
Me And cousins And Her Friend went to Grandson for July we enjoy ourselves We Eat laugh and talk The food was delicious
Good food, clean space. Lots to choose from for a reasonable price. Cater well to a large church group we had. Huge bars of all varieties. If you leave here hungry, it is your own fault. Coffee was fresh and hot. Enjoyed it, will visit again. Thanks.
Food was fresh and everything tasted so good
My husband and I came around 4:30p. It wasnt too full, the buffet was hot and fresh! Easy access and spacious. Kid friendly environment. The buffet was $10.99, however before 4pm its $8.99. Staff was very hospitable and polite. Our waitress was prego so she moved alittle slow. Didnt bother us one bit. #doyothang I have ONE complaint....we had to move because of flies trying to be cheap and not pay for food. Moved and was able to eat just fine. Overall great place to eat! OH WAIT, before I go....MILITARY peeps bring your I.D youre welcome mi amor!
Ive definitely been sleeping on them! Im really hard to please when it comes to food but whomever created their recipes knows a little something about food! 😉 Everything was great except for the chopped BBQ and the rice, other than that, I will definitely return again!
The food was really good and it was southern style (I expected to see junk food like pizza and didn’t which was nice). It was very affordable ($39 for a family of 4). The only issue I had was that we kept getting unsweet tea instead of sweet tea but the waitress was nice fixing it. It was also very cold inside the restaurant where we were sitting (by the salad bar), otherwise the food and atmosphere was nice. Next time I am in town (I am from Va, 3.5 hours awayI will make a trip in.
The service is great. The servers greet you with smiles and are very friendly. Some of the buffets food wasnt good. I understand that a modicum of spices is used to accommodate a large variety of customers, but flavor is a must. The beef in the beefaroni wasnt seasoned at all. The meatloaf tasted just like beefaroni meat with ketchup on top as an afterthought. Good food is what brings customers back. This was the only time I have ever had with the buffet food, but I hope you would look into this matter...
Love the variety of food and friendly downhome feel... its not Louisianas soul food but for now it will suffice. I enjoyed the southern staples that I piled on my plate. Nothing like having fried chicken, collards and baked macaroni. Wasnt that crowded either for a Sunday afternoon lunch, I will definitely be visiting again in the future.
First time there this evening. For two it was $28. I thought it was kind of high. I was surprised at how salty the food was. My husband got collards and I got chicken pastry and we couldnt eat it. We told the waitress. She said they had told them (the cooks I guessabout the salt. Anyway, I have never written anything bad about a restaurant but I had to say I wasnt happy.
This place has some of the best fried chicken Ive had in YEARS. Their side dishes can be hit or miss, but its usually a hit. Will randomly get a craving for their food and the prices are pretty affordable. Military/Veteran discount is also a plus. Friendly staff and a clean area to serve yourself.
This place is awesome. A very huge variety. Nice friendly staff, and very clean. Whatever soul food you can think of, they have it. Food is very fresh and seasoned perfectly. Truly enjoyed the atmosphere and I will be back. As well as bringing others to enjoy
Grandsons is a great place to get fresh Buffett food. They will have everything your looking for in BBQ and more. Nice family environment and friendly faces.
So far not bad for the first time visiting since the restaurant opened in 2017 per the employees I talked to. They have a great selection of foods to enjoy as well as good people to make the day or evening go well. If you are not familiar with the area it is in front of the Lowes and Ollies at McArthur and Ramsey Streets in the old Golden Corral building. Hope to see you there, enjoy.
They have a big variety down-home southern cooking and everything tastes delicious. The staff was very friendly and they have a big variety of deserts and Savory Foods. If you love green bean casserole this is the place to go. They used to have a real good roast beef but lately its been dry I stopped going because of this. The prices are pretty reasonable I think its around $15 a plate all you can eat
Went to Grandsons Buffet for the first time today. I honestly was not impressed with the food...just not my thing....but what I was impressed with was how polite and professional they were when I asked for a refund!!! They did not give any attitude nor be short with me. This caught my attention because a lot of places respond negatively if you ask for a refund. Well done Grandsons ☺☺!
Clean establishment and good quick service. The food was great as well. The to go prices are economical too the price is determined by the weight. Thanks!
Southern cooking is sometime really greasy and bothers me but Grandsons was really good. The facility was clean, the staff were really friendly and the food was really good. Only think I was not crazy about was how slippery the tile was on the floor. They have mats down over it so you dont have to walk on the tile. Maybe that was just an off day for the tile. Still recommend this place.
Went there for the first time tonight and I loved every bit of it. Definitely made this pregnant lady very happy not to mention the staff is extremely nice. As well the food being fresh and tasty. My daughter is so picky with her food and she ate every thing on her plate. True southern food and I will definitely be back.
Great food. Best fried chicken anywhere. The cost is very reasonable, and there is plenty to choose from on the bars. You can eat healthy here if you can stand it lol We were very blessed with a waitress that realized our son is special needs, and treated him with special care. Now we have a place to take him to go out to eat without feeling odd.
Food was hot. Fried shrimp was good. Everything i had was good, but wasnt crazy about the taste of the green bean casserole. thats just me. The waitress kept our table clean and kept our drinks filled she was very nice. Had a good meal. The pecan pie reminded me of a cafe in salado, a taste of home. Yum.
My husband and I love this place. Great food, great service, great price. We do our best to try and have dinner there at least once a month. A wonderful place for eating alone, a date with my husband, a family dinner, met ups with friends. Its just great. ❤❤❤
Great food and friendly staff
This location is very clean and cool inside. The serving staff was very fast and attentive. The buffet lines were always full of food and the food was good. I thought just a few items were a little salty and the chopped bbq was a bit bland, but it definitely wasnt bad! Thats the only reason I didnt give them a 5 star.
Very nice and not too expensive. Food was good but server did not pay attention when refilling drinks. Gave my diabetic husband sweet tea instead of unsweet. She fixed it when corrected, though. We would go back for the good food.
Great southern buffet and the servers were amazing! Too much great food too list but I must mention the fried chicken was just incredible! So many choices to make! This yankee will definitely be back! (PS the sweet tea was awesome!)
Brought my family here who was visiting from out of town and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They were pleasantly surprised at the selection the freshest of the food and the overall friendliness of the entire atmosphere. It was also very affordable rivaling other Buffet chains that shall not be mentioned. Will be back. Be prepared to almost take a nap in the parking lot.
Im so disappointed with this location of Grandsons. Unfortunately the bar didnt have a bit of TLC. Most of the food wasnt hot. Some of the food looked at as if it had been out all morning. Its 3pm. I had the same issue with the temperature of the food last time but I thought Id give them one more chance. I love Grandsons its one of my favorite buffets unfortunately this location has lost my business. Forget convenient I need consistent. I always find that at the Hope Mills location.
Im not sure what happened at this location but today was my last dine here. The food was dried out, I had to wait 20 mins for the prep cook to cut cheese blocks, the only thing that tasted decent was the vegetable soup; and they were almost out of that on the line. (Im always satisfied at the Hopemills location. The food is always fresh there and the staff is more caring.)
There is a good variety when it comes to food choices. The waitresses are always showing superb customer service. The downfall for me about this place is that although there is a good variety of choices the quality of food is extremely low and quite obvious that there wasn’t much thought put into each item.throughout my frequent visits I noticed that my chicken was cold along with other food items. There was a bad odor during my most recent visit. A lot of the food items look sloppy and thrown together. I have never been to a soul food restaurant with nasty macaroni. Their macaroni seemed watered down like they was trying to stretch the cheese or something.
Love this place. Its not fine dining by any stretch, nor is it top end BBQ, but it is the Pinnacle of a small genre of restaurant - the southern buffet.A classic part of the southern experience. Make sure you try the pecan pie for dessert, its fantastic. Many locals consider the fried chicken to be the best around, myself included. The sausage with sage (breakfast sausageis out of this world.
Friendly place to eat and enjoy your meal. Waiter and waitress were very respectful and had a good sense of humor. They made sure to come by our tables to fill our glasses with the beverages we were drinking. It was a beautiful day at the restaurant.Excellent job
Best buffet i have ever been to, and that is saying a lot. I love a good home-style buffet. The staff was so sweet and kind. Super helpful and polite, especially miss Brittany/Steffanie(I feel so terrible i dont remember her name exactlyThe food was just like at a family Sunday get together. Fresh, well seasoned, and something for everyone.
The restaurant is very clean and The front staff was super friendly. The waitress never gave me a straw and never asked me if I need something (I think she was like this because I was alone). They don’t have BBQ Ribs and the BBQ Chicken was cold. I think the Hope Mills one is better but I give them 4 stars because I think they deserve another opportunity, so I come back another day on the dinner time.
Huge selection of food we arrived close to closing, nearly everything was hot and fresh, most were hot but others were a little cold but the selection is so huge you can definitely find more things to throw on your plate than anyone could eat.Staff was extremely friendly, polite and attentive. And because we were close to closing time we got to see the level of cleaning and was surprise to see how well and throughly everything was cleaned and wiped down.Very pleased and happy with the experience!
This restaurant is clean, and the wait time for a clean table is quick. Grandsons staff is friendly and super attentive to the customers needs. And as equally important, the large variety of food is delicious and will satisfy many palates. Will recommend to all for the reasons mentioned. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, the price per person is family-friendly. Customers visiting for the first time will be surprisingly satisfied.
They keep getting better with each new location. Love everything on the buffet!
I loved it. I was visiting from out of town and was told about this place. It was delicious. A buffet to remember and brag about. Clean, and very friendly environment. Courteous service.
The food here is fantastic and the service was amazing. The selection was great and the majority of the foods could be compared to the high standards set for authentic southern food. One of the best restaurants in Fayetteville hands down. No need for a breakfast buffet, the lunch and dinner are more than enough top warrant an excellent review.
Had my first experience and it was great. Didnt try everything but what I did try nothing was bad. The biscuits are perfect, the Mac& Cheese is like moms, the Tea is sweet. Ill be back soon and probably often. When is breakfast starting? I need that!
I am actually pleasantly surprised. It was far above the quality of usual buffets and the staff was very attentive, never letting our drinks get empty. It was good quality southern food and on Tuesdays its 2 for $20! Its a great addition to Ramsey St.
