Great food for owned and run by a married couple for lunch only but the environment there is great and a fun place to eat.

A bit tricky to find, but worth it! Good food and friendly service! An authentic Mom and Pop cafe!

The food was just ok. My husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger with no cheese and no tomatoes, lettuce, onions or pickles. Basically a bacon burger. He got a hamburger, no bacon on it, and EVERYTHING on it! I had asked for ranch dressing for my onion rings and never got it. We had to ask for napkins. Never got 1 piece of silverware. The bathrooms were beyond disgusting! Dont think well be back, or recommend this place.

Great burgers and patty melts. Google is wrong about the time it closes. It is actually 730. We got there a little after 7, and they were great about making our dinner and sitting there talking to us. We we very happy with the food and service. Highly recommend!

Up from Iowa getting our cats fixed at the Albert Lea Humane Society and needed to eat and eat up some time. SO glad we went to Grandmas! The staff are friendly and attentive (even the cook came out and talked to us), the atmosphere is extremely laid back, the food is awesome--those were the best fries I have ever had--but it didnt break the bank. I would give it ten stars if I could. My little guy agrees!

Great food! You wouldnt know it to l look at the outside, but it was clean, the food was good, and the staff was very friendly. If youre looking for a hot meal in or around Albert Lea this is a must stop.

We found this little gem online. Food was delicious, service friendly and very economical. We had homemade chicken strips from white meat real chicken( not pressedpork tenderloin out of fresh pork, hand pattied burgers and chicken dinner! Fries were done just right! Definitely a return visit in our future! Thank you!

This is a quaint little cafe/diner with the best homemade food one could ever wish to have. The owners are wonderful and actually came up to your table and chatted with you. Very warm homey atmosphere and will return anytime Im back that way.

When it comes to places that pretend they have home cooked food, this is not one of those places. Thisnfood tastes like the stuff your grandma would whip up for you on the weekends. Hearty food with a homely feel inside. Sown to earth staff and I like to know that it is a family owned restaurant. The chicken fried chicken is better than your mom makes. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Cant say enough about this place! For starters they give you a genuine welcome feeling which is hard to find these day! There attention to service is unmatched an the food is great!

Very good food and great service. We had the tenderloin and the roast beef with mashed potatoes. Both were excellent. A small place but well worth the stop.

The food is always great and portions are generous. Grandma is great too. She is welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately some other staff and a select group of customers cant seem to stop talking politics. Its loud and pretty inappropriate at times.

We stopped in while driving across I-90 on the way to Wisconsin specifically due to the high ratings and praise of this cafe. Boy are we glad we did! Our server was a sweet lady, our cook was a gentleman that personally came out of the kitchen to ask about our food and to make conversation. The man behind the bar regularly made us feel welcome with small talk and advice. The food was great - burgers were thick and tasted like you were at the backyard cookout of the year! We cant speak highly enough of this little kitchen - if you havent tried it, you are doing yourself a disservice! Hop in the car and head to Grandmas Kitchen!

This is well worth the little extra drive off the interstate. The food is comfort food at its best and the owners are the sweetest people. Its more like you were invited over to share a meal than eating in a restaurant.The roast beef sandwich was melt in your mouth tender and the flavor of the meat was beyond delicious, the patty melt and fish sandwich was great. Their homemade broccoli soup was to die for!

Im pretty sure I was literally served by a grandmother... and she was AWESOME!... got the jalapeno popper burger 10/10 recommend... incredible!

Great place! Jalapeno poppers is a must try. Im most impressed with the fries which are super crunchy and its texture is consistent throughout. Price is reasonable. Will definitely visit here again.

Quaint mom and pop restaurant serving up outstanding food. Worth the short jaunt off the freeway. You wont be sorry. Pork tenderloin was excellent and the steak special was too.

What a lovely little family owned restaurant! Wasnt sure from the outside but once I saw the one page menu of home cooked fresh food I knew it was going to be good. Awesome food and a great family. 👍👍

The food was great here! We had a nice conversation with the owners, and the cook.Both the hot beef sandwich, and the pork tenderloin are top notch. We will likely eathere again on another trip through.

Dont like the Mongolian food. They dont have a good variety. Nice atmosphere but the people there only pretend to be nice to you. You can tell they walk away and roll their eyes.

We have never had a bad meal here, the food is always home cooked and hot. They have different specials everyday and they have evening food on Fridays and Saturdays. Its a great place to eat!!!

We are on a cross-country trip from Virginia to California and this was one of our favorite stops of our entire trip! What a great experience - wonderful home-style cooking and such a sweet family - definitely worth a stop if you’re driving by on 90 - the Grandma’s Burger is the best in the state!

Hands down one of the best places I have ever been. It has a super friendly atmosphere! The family that runs it is super friendly and actually cares about the customers. We had some great little conversations with them and the food they made for us was incredible! You can tell they make their food fresh daily and care about the food they make! Definitely will be back again on the next trip to Minneapolis.

Absolutely a must stop and eat there!Cheryl had a grilled chicken salad that was excellent!I had a pork tenderloin sandwich that was sensational!The owners were wonderful to talk with!It’s only 10 minutes off of interstate 35 and more than worth it !

Just good food, I had a rib-eye steak sandwich with Calico beans. Both were good, service was excellent and parking was on the street but not bad. Nice small town place.

They have the burger that I crave when i want a burger. The meat is juicy and perfectly cooked. They cook their crinkle cut fries a little longer than normal so they are crispy but not burned. The staff is super friendly no matter what you look like, which is difficult for me being tattooed and having facial piercings. The only thing that sucks is that they arent open longer.I would recommend the jalapeno poppers burger or grandmas burger.

We stopped here on way home to NC from Sturgis .goggled country food this place had 4.9 Stars so we decided to give it a try ..upon first sight when we arrived we were kinda skepital by the apperance of the place .but we figured we already drove here (kinda out of the way so we will try it .and boy was we glad the special was sirlion mashed potatoes corn on cob ..absolutely the most tender and best tasting steak period .so glad we stopped .give this place a try you wont be sorry ..

We stopped at Grandmas Kitchen passing through Albert Lea on a long road trip to Mount Rushmore. Our entire family was impressed with their friendly service and homestyle cooking. Its hard to find little gems like these nowadays. We highly recommend you stop in and give them a try wether youre a local or just traveling through town. You can expect to be greeted by "Grandma" herself, and receive the best value for your money. Well definitely make it a point to stop in again the next time were near the area.

My family owns the business and they put their all into it! Great customer service, they treat everyone like family, children like their own. My dad is their everyday at 9am cleaning, so in response the the awful review about spiders and dirty Windows; I can assure you that was or never would be the case. Fries are cooked in grease, so yeah theyre going to be a little greasy. It is one of the cleanest places to eat in AL, and many would agree. Give them a try, the burgers are delicious! You dont stay in business for 5+ years if what he said was true.
