Grand Trunk Tavern in Prince George

Had a business dinner here for 24 people. Did preorder and went well. Server Christina was great.

Food was disgusting and when I called to complain they wouldn’t give me a refund but offered a tiny dessert! Don’t waste your time or money here! Stayed at the hotel and picked up the food, Not worth the cost!

Ive been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now due to the raving reviews and photos Ive seen online. My husband and I decided to try it out on a date night and were sadly disappointed. Our waitress was lovely. However the food was not. The calamari was rubbery and cold with nothing super special about it (19 dollars a plate youd think it would have something extra). My husband ordered the peppercorn steak, it had a good chunk of fat he had to cut off and it was a pretty thin cut of meat. My beef dip was great but I had to ask for dressing for my Greek salad as it didnt have any on it. If youre going to charge high end pricing, maybe present a bit better.

Our waitress was busy but so helpful and kind nonetheless! Very happy with our food and service

Good service, best Caesar I have ever had and the server was a breath of fresh air. 1 dollar Atlantic Oysters were a hit.

I really want to love this place - I gave it 4 tries JUST because they serve Canterbury on tap. They have 2 taps each of PWB, Trench and Crossroads which arent pouring well and not quite cool enough to do them justice. The servers are all really nice but most come off as being inexperiened. The food tastes pretty good but the prices are a little high for what you get. The atmosphere is nice. Theres a lot of neat retro stuff going on there and a bit of history but nothing anything working there is passionate about or even interested in. The music was a pleasant volume and seemed to be mostly classics. What visual appeal and exciting flavours Grand Trunk does have to offer were frequently blown away by the lingering stink of perfume that leaves your dining experience in the entrance of Shoppers Drug Mart. The food all tasted good otherwise. The prices were a bit much though. Value for money just isnt there yet.

Food was delicious and the service was awesome! Recommend the clam chowder and fish cakes.

Stayed with my family at the prestige hotel, went down for a early dinner,Had a variety of happy hour specialsbuck a shuck which was only $1 a oyster, we grabbed the minimum of 6.25% off appies, they had a Long Island Iced tea special that was only $4.We tried the mojo prawns; fried calamari and some crispy maple Cajun wings.Everything was so good,My partner ordered the CN burger + Beer combo that was only $20 he upgraded his fries for onion ringsMyself I had the prestige club and sweet potato friesLove the atmosphere and love the food, had an amazing experience, service was fantastic!What a hidden gem.

Stopped in twice now and both were really great. Had the fresh oysters and they are done really well with nice sides and very fresh offerings. Also had the wings and they are very very good and you get a great portion for the value. Sauce/rubs are a little different, but the stand bys are still good. Will come here again.

Just went here for breakfast, ordered a dish that said it was $15.50. Wasn’t really paying attention when paying the bill, but looked as I was walking out and was charged $20 for the meal.I stopped and asked the waitress if this was correct. And looked at our menu which said the price $15.50. The waitress just said that they had changed the price but hadn’t gotten to all the menus. She did not offer to resolve this issue.Went to the front desk of the hotel, and they just brought me back to the waitress.Watch out for the bait and switch!

The food is decent but the service is terrible. Brought us luke warm coffee. Asked for hot coffee and the server said it should still be warm, it was brewed 4 hours earlier. Probably wont go back.

Food is really good. Very reasonably priced oysters and beer and burger specials. Violet is an excellent server. Always quiet when you go early.

The restaurant is nice. Cool decor and styling. The food was pretty good too. Only real issue is that there was only one staff member on to seat/bartend/take and serve orders. While he was doing his best and did pretty good, some additional staff would be a relief.

Service was very friendly but slow. Short staffed but the girls did their best. Food was good. Go for the wing special and happy hour. Prices have increased from their online prices.

Terrible Menu, Nothing but burgers and appys. Wings cold and deep fried with some bottled Sauce drizzled over them. getting a waitress attention impossible

Slow service and incorrect order, offensive music and videos especially on Valentines day. Over an hour to receive an appetizer that was not very good. Previously had left a 5-star review 3 years ago, this is second disappointing trip since then. Changing my review.

Delicious food. Good local selection of craft beer and wine. Service was slow to get to us after we were seated (30 minutesbut once our service began it was excellent.

Terrible service. Got my food as everyone with me finished, used to love this place but dont think I will ever be back. Food is great but service leaves tons to be desired.

Arrived at 1245. Left at 215. Cold food but the plate was warm. Slow service. Hair in the dessert

We went on a Friday after 7 p.m. and it was crazy busy. Luckily we only had to wait under 10 minutes for a table to be cleaned and ready for us. Ive actually only been at this restaurant twice and both times I sat at the same table which is kind of cool to me. We ordered oysters and they were right on point. We had cheap 6 oz of wine which I drank way too fast and then we moved on to some delicious beers. Menus really great theres lots of options. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Theres wheelchair parking and it is wheelchair accessible. The food here is amazing. I really enjoyed our dinners my husbands Burger was so big like tall. I barely ate half of my food and save the rest for later the portions are so big. Its a really cool atmosphere I really enjoy this place and I will come back again thanks so much everyone. Theres hand sanitizer at the entrance and they were cleaning in between patrons.

Ordered takeout. Missing sauce on 3 different items, burger was cold and ?chewy? Everything was cold, even the baked brie! Not a fan

Fantastic first time here. Just a quick Ceasar on a Friday afternoon. Smokehouse Ceasar is fire!

The servers were nice but everything took so long. We were not offered second beverages and after we asked for them it took over 20 minutes to received them. Our food took over an hour and it was just ok. We would have happily spend more money on drinks there but after wasting an hour and a half of our time and barely getting two beverages and meh food we were over it. Gravy tasted like nothing and fries seemed to have been sitting out a long time before served

Terrible food. Ordered a burger and fries and the thing was a mess. It tastes like they cook the burger in red wine. not sure if super thick sliced veggies is a good thing on a burger. the only good thing of the meal was the fact that they gave me so little fries, as they were so terrible I was happy I didnt have more to eat. Avoid this place unless you want an over priced trash burger

The eggplant Parmesan was one of the best meals Ive had at a restaurant. The only reason I gave a 4 star instead of 5 was the short staffing although our waitress was doing a good job considering.

Had a few meals while staying at the hotel. Our server was great buy the food was average at best, stake was medium well when i ordered medium rare, ordered wings they were 🥶, then got extra sauce on wings that i didnt want.

Newest PG secret! Fresh Oysters (and yes, they are fresh,Larissa, restaurant mgr was stellar in making sure we got the most out of our restaurant visit. Never intrusive but always attentive. Our service was excellent.We went for happy hour and got to try the different Oyster plates they had, then we moved to their wings and "yorkies". Every dish was perfect.Will definitely be supporting this great little restaurant a lot more!

My steak was nowhere even close to med well . Server offered to get the cook to throw it back on the grill but when it came back it was no more cooked than it was before. I didnt eat it and our server seen that I didnt eat it so she offered me a to go container and our bill. And thats it . Not even an apology or an excuse ... nothing.

We ate at the Snooze Breakfast Bar and just let me start off by saying the food was good but not great... our eggs and waffles were cold like taken from the fridge cold and the only thing that was hot was our hash browns. If you don’t mind sub par food it’s a cute little place.

We came GT every single Monday for fresh oyster and its always good n tasted. They have good deal with $1 around happy hours 3pmto 6pm. We also love beef deep and Cracker burger. Very clean and warm enviroment for couple dinner. They have another Greek restaurant inside, server give me the menu also, so we try to order in skipthedishes. OMG thats so good. For sure will comeback with more promotion 25% discount for app and 3.99$ for WEDnesday Chix wings. We love ittttt.

Been here few times.Calamari is from their new Ambrosia menu as same as the Donair.About the Donair it’s lamb meatballs and so good, will fill you up.What you see in the middle is Croque-Monsieur its a delicious dish that is in their Snooize Bar Menu.😋 Delicious food and best service.Thanks to Chef Dustin.

Was not worth the money we spent. The server was very nice and checked on us often. There was no one else in the restaurant. The appy came out at the same time as the meal. The fish was not cook well, and the lamb burger was not good. I felt very sick after eating here. This place was nothing to write home about. Should have went to McDonalds for our anniversary dinner would have been cheaper, and I wouldnt have felt so sick.

I went a few times last year for buck a shuck oysters, and another time for dinner. It was my first time having raw oysters. In general, they were okay. Unfortunately a few bad ones made its way to the platter. Some were ice cold, some fine. For a 1$ per oyster you get what you pay for. Another time I got a beef dip and I truly did not enjoy it. The bread was thick, and to me not dippable. In beef dips I enjoy the meat shaved and piecy. The meat for the beef dip was a thick slab that I had to rip through my teeth. Sometimes unfortunately the service is awful, other times.. its fine. Beautiful inside, nice atmosphere, cool vibe, a tad pricey for bland food.

I tried numerous time to get a hold of the manager to talk about catering an event. She never responded to and calls messages, or emails. Spoke with her in person with my fiancee and had the worst experience. Never will we go back

Walked into the restaurant and wasnt acknowledged for the first 10 minutes, even though we know they saw us. It was dead in there. Our waitress eventually came up to us and asked us for drink orders and then WE had ask for menus. Then she disappeared, came back with drinks awhile after and then disappeared again, when it was very obvious we were ready to order. By this time we were so angry we were about to leave. The waitress comes back to get our order and we tell her that we are going to pay for our drinks and leave. She never did come back with a check. Left money on the table and left. I will never go back.

Food is ok. Their meat slicer was broken, so the thinly sliced roast beef left much to be desired. No oysters. No cod. At least the womans washroom is very nice. (So Ive been told)

Great atmosphere, Ashley and Brittany were great and very knowledgeable. If you like cozy and craft beer this is the place to be!

Very dissapointed service was good but food and layout were not. Soup came out cold when returned the chef chose to nuke it were it then came out so so hot when able to finally eat it it was a bowl of grease we orderrd may appies between 4 of us and the 4 of us were dissappointed. Price high for quality you get. Only 2 handicap tables for wheelchair access right in front of door so wore our jackets while there though it was our feet that got worst of door opening and closing .the wait to be seated podium at front door along with the washroom across from each other no room to wait to be seated as we found ourselves blocking the bathroom doors. We will not recommend this restaurant to others or return .

Food is amazing! The fried chicken sandwich is huge and a satisfyingly delicious meal on its own! Garlic fries were pretty great too. Thank you for being on point with this good meal.

Great pub and delightful food what more do you want? How about local beer from my favorite brewery Trench. The service is stellar and so is the decor. The only reason I never gave this place 5 stars is because of the location.
