Am editing my review after a disappointing experience.Prefacing everything by stating Ive been an H & R Block client for many years.I dont have any issue with the service or preparers Ive met over the years.My experience this year,however,re:the front service person & subsequent payment problems seems inappropriate at the very least,for a business dealing with peoples finances:the upshot is that H & R Block charged me twice for services rendered.Thankfully,I had their receipt--dates--and transactions billed to my bank.I have spent several hours on the phone--made 3 in person trips to my financial institution--and have had to spend several days/evenings providing info to the Block manager(who has been helpful--but still a tedious process)....proving their mistake in an effort to get my funds returned.Not sure if the front desk person processing my payment started this mess,but sure if I use H & R Block in the future,if the greeter/checkout is similar I will just walk out.This has taken a whole lot of time...payment?Instant.Refund on their error?Not so much.Yeah--canned response from customer service here.No response.No resolution.Done with this.Filing fraud.

Usually do the drop off service. Really professional staff and deliver on time or usually early. Good, trusted place to have your taxes done.

Prompt service. I have known my tax adviser for over 20 years and trust him explicitly. He goes the extra mile to insure my return is accurate and reflects all deductions i qualify for. I have not gone to the office for over five years. All is done through the mail or over the phone. it has worked out well for me.

I would give them 0 stars if that was an option. I went to H&R block only because I needed the advance and made that clear to them from the second I walked into the door. They did my taxes and told me that they applied for the loan for me and that if I was approved I would have the money the next day. He even went as far as to go over the information on the loan the last few minutes I was there. When I didnt see any money on the card the next morning I went through my paperwork and realized they never even signed me up for it. When I call them they all of a sudden want to tell me that I didnt qualify because I wasnt getting enough back and thats why he didnt sign me up for the loan. When I ask why he didnt tell me that then he just says he forgot. I would of never paid to get my taxes done if it wasnt for the loan. I would of done them myself and just waited and all they can say is sorry. They wanted their money and was willing to tell me anything that I wanted to hear to take that money from me. I will never step foot in an H&R Block again and I will make sure to tell everyone I know to never visit them as well.
