Grand Khaan Irish Pub - Pub in Dzuunmod, Mongolia
Good drinks
Nice foods and drinks. Good environment.. relax and enjoy. If have live band will be best.. sure will come back next trip in UB, Mongolia.
High prices for food and drinks. Ok, I can live with this. But seeing restrooms (men): not cleaned, defect doors, defect flushing and and - are simply not acceptable. Time: 09.00 pm. And not very crowdy.
Great vibe in this place - even mid afternoon. I didnt taste the meals - but the food I saw being served looked really fresh and tasty!
No Irish flag, but other than that, ace.
Very delicious food and testy drinks!
Fancy Irish pub in the mongolian capital. Good service
Well, where to start. My first visit to the Grand Khaan Irish Pub was for St Patricks day. I did expect live music or any music, a busy location and specials on the menu for drinks and snacks. What did I get a few workers wearing Guinness foam hats, and a tacky string of Guinness decor. They had Guinness as thr only special and no theme. I understand we are in Mongolia, but if you try to be a large Irish pub, at least paint the wall mural behind the band stand to match some version of Ireland or Mongolia. Currently looks German. The bar was dead, a few business meetings and that was it. The fries came out cold and the Guinness was okay. Ive been to Ireland and other Asian countries Irish pubs and this was the worse. The furniture is decent but the atmosphere was terrible.
Broken teeths. But reasonable prise
Absolutely perfect, cheap, great food and perfect location in the centre of the city.Great for beer, breakfast, launch or dinner.
Loved it - so vibrant atmosphere, great decor and wide selection of food and drinks. I enjoyed a lot with friends.
I have been there manu times before. Its good place to hang out there. Seems ne lil bit olf though. no other excuses.
Irish pub good food and beer. Nice place
It’s always a cool place to hangout at Irish pub at late noon. Consistent Great beer and bar snack. One gets to interact with local crowds easily.
Was a lovely atmosphere and the steak was very nice.
Classic expat bar. Great selection of food, usually good waitstaff and a nice assortment of beer, cocktails etc. One of my favorites!
Very quiet and peaceful ambience .. usually good for old people, families and dating.. but if you are looking to hang out with friends with some happening events or loud music then it is not the right place for it.
Love the food, a really calming place. The fresh mozzarella was however very bitter (out of date or gone past best before date)
The main meal came before the salad. Waiters were slow and not good enough. New year decorating was good though.
Decent stake and very good local beer!
We were craving a burger and they delivered. Great tasting burger. Fries only OK, and the table / bench was not as clean as it should have been. The draft beer was amazing, and the service very friendly and attentive. Portions are very generous so careful when ordering.
Nice place. Very large. Good service, good beer selection, fairly large menu. The food is decent but not wonderful. Prices slightly higher than others in the area. But I could be a regular here. Portions are fairly large.
Very central and touristic. Chingiz beer and cocktailsare good.
Always a good time here. Their cocktails are made the same as they might be made in D.C. The live music at night is always fun too. They used to have shisha or hookah there at 60k but not available the last few times I patron this restaurant /bar
Had a lovely ginseng soup and a pint of local beer. Nice atmosphere and prices fairly cheap. Unfortunately the waitress tried to shortchange us when settling the bill. Quickly settled once we pointed it out.
Big space, Nice seating, close to the theater to have food and drinks before heading to the theater and watch a show.Salads are delicious, diverse menu. Place gets crowded in the weekends.
The service is good but the food is so bad. We had the burger, some milkshakes and weren’t very satisfied. Not to recommend to go there and have Western food.
Best steak I have had in Mongolia
Horrible service. We went on a wednesday at 22:30, the place is open until 00.00, we took a seat (the restaurant was not packed whatsoever, maybe 25% of the tables were taken), and they took 25 minutes to take our order, despite calling them a couple of times. We asked for craft beer, they didn’t have. We asked for food, and the the kitchen was closed. They should have mentioned that the kitchen was closed as soon as they gave us the menus, not 25 minutes after. So disappointed, definitely never coming back.
Appears to be the standard pub for foreigners in Ulanbaatar, but also quite a few locals. They served cold local beer at a pretty decent price, and appeared to have a selection of foreign beers, which I didnt try. Relatively crowded place. There is a rooftop terrace, but it was fully occupied when I was there.
Its a very big pub. Food menu is good but service is slow. Sometimes it seems as if they have forgotten you.Curious decor but there are plenty of other places with better service.Nice cocktails.
Why do people still go here? The food is awful; service is terrible. The layout of the tables is awkward, making it difficult to move about. Ah, but its a historical landmark at this point, and tourists have that itch to SEE it. It gets an additional star because it is the one of a kind place to see big sporting events such as World Cup. Its never my choice to come here, though.Coffee shop in the east corner is fine.
big "Must do" for foreigners and locals. Either by Day or Nighttime. Been there a couple of times and they even serve german sausages there which is a big hit. Go there and waste your time in a positive way! cheers
Cozy place after a long hours of work. Bit pricy compared to other pubs.
Service fast and quite polite. Good choice of food and beverages. Friday and Saturday very crowded, live music at very high volume. Prices in averages (2018 Oct.)
My steak was not rare as ordered, meat was tender but not as good as at Modern Nomads. Beer was ordinary lager, missing my ales:(
Back home, you do t get good anywhere near this good at an Irish Pub. Very impressed with the plating and flavor.
Very delicious place with good food.
Good average flaver food, great interior
Very good bar clean, modern, well staffed good music. Great food and beer, 2x8oz fillet steaks lovely tossed veg crispy french fries €11.00 a nice pint €2...pleasent staff
Location is convinient, just a 10 mins walk from my hotel. Nice decoration. Not to go there on Sunday night if you want to enjoy live music show. Worth to try a glass of local Chingis draught beer.
Good as usual. Very lively place in the evening with local bands playing Mongolian songs and Western rocknroll. Much improved clientele than before, no more sexual harassment by cheap girls than before. Nice place to be also for watching sport events.
A popular place for expats. Sports bar type of place with many large screens showing sports events around the world. Decent food, good salads, prompt friendly service and free Wifi.
Really big venue with a lot of staff, TVs playing sports, & a different atmosphere then what you get in Mongolia
Great food and drinks. Lots of seating including a covered section outside. English speaking staff.
Fancy restaurant with TV inside and very close to sukbatar square. Good choice of food and desert! It is pricey compared to other restaurants around; you are basically paying the normal price you would be in the UK/US
Poor service/inattentive staff, majority of meals on the menu not available to order.
Excellent place! Enjoy both Mongolian and European food at one place!
Great pub. No matter where you are on this planet, the Irish pub is always the same and thats a good thing. Its surprisingly quiet for an Irish pub on a Thursday evening but they do have live music in November 2016. If you come early in the morning, two hours after they open that is, youll wait for a surprisingly long time to get a standard coffee which almost led me to downgrade it.
Not exactly authentically Mongolian.... but a great place to stop off at in the centre of town with decent food and a respectable range of beers and wines. Be prepared to get used to the regular performers going through their paces on a ...regular basis.
