Suites add separate living rooms. Room service is provided. There's a Chinese restaurant and an international eatery, along with a poolside cafe and a bar. Other amenities include outdoor pools, and a fitness center with saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs, plus a golf driving range, 6 tennis courts and a jogging path. Event space is available.
Great buffet with anything one can ask for.
This stunning jem is a place to go even if you dont stay the night! They have tours to explain all the history related to the hotel! (Chinese only)They have a pool nearby with a shuttle that runs you to and from!Almost all of the staff have excellent English!
Super luxurious experience with the best building architecture. Views are amazing and service is even better. You can not miss out staying at least one night. Relaxing at the pool at night with the hotel and city views is priceless. 10/10
it is really worth to visit, stay and have wonderful dining in this historical 5 stars hotel.
food is bad quality , wont go there any more.
Need a shuttle that pass each 30-40 min to get to the swimming pool 🤔 Overpriced restaurants… a roasted chicken 60 USD? … ummm the place is nice for pictures but I wouldn’t come back, however check the Kaohsiung one, much nicer and convenient…
The staff were nice and attentive but the room had a few problems. The sports area is quite far away from hotel and we werent warned that they were prepping for a party so had to listen to that racket. The tour they give is interesting but they said it had in English but all I got was a piece of paper.
Stayed here many ions ago. Great experience for me.
Always great here, especially when you get good rates from some apps. Even the economy room with no window is special. However the deluxe double room is best for the whole experience. Huge balcony. High ceilings. Nice décorations. HDMI USB and internet connections are in the workdesk. Found that out by accident, so bring your own entertainment to make it an even better stay. Family Mart in the building open till 8. Awesome and helpful staff. Improvements needed with wifi, softer beds, bigger TV ( 42" ), better bathtubs and perhaps offer something in the fridge. Still worth a night or two to relax
As Grand as her location can be. Unmissable landmark from almost everywhere in Taipei. This is not our first time visiting and dining here. The latest visit was for the Presidential dining experience. Paid top price for this meal and it was pretty much as it said.... ”Presidential”.... service was excellent, food was great (that ”homemade” cake was unforgivingly good and dont trust the rumour it was catered from some local Taiwanese wet market).... the lamb chop was much better option if you want to try.... dim-sum was nice. Bitter gourd side dish was extremely delicious.... after meal, we went to the ”escape” tunnel walk, little museum before heading to the Presidential Suite! No photos allowed but the view was amazing and the local guides were very friendly and well verse on the history of the hotel and her patrons. Nice experience for those who loves a little bit of history.
Very nice foods and Chinese cultural architect design building.
Siting magnificently on the high Yuanshan mountain is a 14-storey palace-style building, The Grand Hotel Taipei looking down to the beautiful view of Keelung River and Taipei city. It couldn’t be any better location with YangMing mountain behind, Songshan district on the east and Tamsui district on the west. The hotel was designed with a majestic atmosphere with red columns, golden roofs, a magnificent classical atmosphere, conveys the beauty of Chinese style. It’s also one of the representative landmarks of Taipei city, and famous as world’s tallest Chinese classical building. The Grand Hotel is a great choice for domestic and foreign employee for leisure when traveling or having a business conference in Taipei.Inside the hotel is decorated with magnificent style of Chinese art, which can give beautiful photo at evert angle every time you want to take photo. It also has short tour inside the tour, tourist will be able to know about the history of the hotel, admiring the architecture and decoration, as well as experiencing the secret tunnel under the hotel. More especially, the hotel is even certified as having a “Muslim-friendly restaurant”, making it a perfect destination for people from all over the world. The location of the Grand Hote is very convenient with a 10-minute drive from famous Shilin Night Market and a 15-minute drive from Taipei Train Station and Taipei Songshan Airport. A bit further is National Palace Museum with a 20-minute drive from the hotel, while Taoyuan International Airport is 40 minutes away. There is free shuttle bus to get to hotel from nearby Jiantan bus station, which is super convenient for tourist to go down to the city or Shillin night market.
Nice ambient and good service! You will not be disappointedThis is an absolutely amazing building in Taipei. The sheer size is massive. Both exterior and interior are very impressive. This is the destination hotel for dignitaries and royals from around the globe. Can get overwhelmingly crowded with tour groups at peak times.
It’s fun and great place, kind of historical too !
My five stars rating applies to everything about this hotel with the exception of staying in a room as I have not done so.The main building that is a prominent Taipei landmark has been standing proud on a hill overlooking the city for several decades. The view afforded by its location is second to none. Being here readily engenders a feeling of happiness for me and my fellow visitors. While the buildings are only imitation of ancient Chinese palaces, I commend the architect and the builders for successfully combining classical elements with modern safety features and amenities. As a result, guests can enjoy todays convenience and feeling nostalgic at the same time. Our party was here to participate in a tour that includes the East Secret Passage, Ms. Kuns Residence, and the Presidential Travel Lodge. The guides did an excellent job providing back drops about the attractions that greatly enhance the visual experience.Last but not least, the various shops offer a wide selections of momentos and gifts with reasonable pricing. All in all, one cannot go wrong visiting this grand hotel for a variety of reason.
Well preserved and maintained architecture which is iconic to Taiwan’s history.Room came with a huge balcony overseeing the Jiantan Mountain.Room was spacious and everything was in very good condition. Love the toilet which is very modern and well kept.Hotel has various themed restaurants depending on your liking. There is also the iconic tour of the hotel and its history lead by professional tour guides.Last but not least, one of the best thing about the hotel is that there are various mountain trails which you can use to hike up the mountain at the back of the hotel to give you a scenic view of the entire Taipei city 👍👍👍
Amazing building with a lot of history. While obviously this means the hotel will be a bit dated, it is well-maintained. The room itself was spacious and very clean. Check-in could be a bit more efficient.
Food was pretty good, elevated to five stars because of view and atmosphere- high above Taipei you can see planes taking off and landing at Songshan and one a clear day get a whole sweep of the city
I would like to compliment Peggy, a hotel staff who works the back entrance. She went out of her way to get a taxi for us, realizing we are in a hurry, she kept calling to ensure taxi arrive on time. Superior service like this is what kept me coming to back this hotel. Thank you Peggy!
This is my favorite spot to stay in Taipei. The hotel is very elegant, and has a lot of history, and a few quirky secrets. (I also lived here for a few months when I was a kid, so has special meaning personally.)
So much history was made at this landmark hotel. If you visit, highly recommend stopping by the photo wall to see Eisenhower and other world leaders whove met with Taiwan leaders.
We ate in the big private restaurant with about 20-25 people at the round table. The food was correct but the service was really poor. Dropping droplets everytime they poor the wine or any beverage without caring if it falls in the plate, on the table, on the napkin,… not even a word to say sorry after doing it a few times in a row. Way too expensive for the service they provide
2021/12/24圓山大飯店Grand HotelI recommended that tourists must visit Grand Hotel to see this Chinese classical building! It is amazing!
Came here after having seen the introduction made by “Chien’s Eating” regarding the State Banquet. The hotel itself is worth a visit anyway due to its unique historical past and if you see any project that includes a guided tour, you need to give it a try!
This iconic hotel was built by Soong Mei-Ling, the wife of Chiang Kai Shek, and used by the KMT during the Martial Law Era to impress foreign dignitaries. Though not everyone might like its ostentatious style, it is an impressive building that is certainly worth visiting, and daily busloads of mainly elderly tourists would seem to agree.Unfortunately, this makes it less than ideal as a five-star hotel. The lobby is like a busy, noisy marketplace. I staid in the basic room, which is priced at over 8000 NTD. For that, you get a medium-sized room without windows in the core of the building, which is far from soundproof. Everything was in order, clean, and acceptable, but altogether a bit impersonal and meh. Breakfast was mediocre at best, and of the four coffee machines only one was working. The coffee shop has great service and looks spectacular, but is overly expensive. Great as a tourist spot, not really worth visiting as a hotel.
Asa man ta mo stay sa Taipei?Look no further because "The Grand Hotel Taipei" is just around the corner! A five star hotel with a majestic architectural design! What else can any guest look for? Amazing staff, jaw-dropping view, a city landscape, a red carpet experience and mouthwatering food! Hmmm😋hungry. If you wish to experience this grandeur, you need not to stay for a night babe! Experience an eat all you can buffet at a time that suits you! Theres tea time, the most affordable meal and dinner! If you wish a private meal, they have other restaurants so you just have to ring the bell! While waiting for your reservation or perhaps after the chow, enjoy the picturesque landscape in and out this historical Grand hotel and fall in love with its rogue hue! Its just so attractive that I even wanna stay a little longer, well, there was a time I kept on coming back😅So, guys!!! Dont just take a pic outside, take a nice coffee or meal! Come one treat yourself, you deserve it~
We dine in Garden cafe for an afternoon tea. I can say it was nice but portions is so small, it has to be served for two persons, I have to say its over priced, and the taste has nothing really special on it, We also ordered cheese platter and its disappointing. However the interiors and ambiance is totally impressive.
Stayed one night at this beautiful historic hotel during the Moon Festival. We booked the "Horizon room with 2 meals and the East Tunnel tour" package. The tunnel tour was okay, but the history of it was interesting. Our room has a great view of the Keelung river and Taipei city. total dinner boxes sent to our room and they were delicious 😋 Breakfast set wasnt that impressive, our sausages, eggs and bacon were lukewarm. Taiwanese congee breakfast was much better. We squeezed in one hour to enjoy the amazing pool at the Club House.Staff were all very friendly. However, more on job training is needed. Overall it was a great experience. We will return 😊
I havent been to Grand Hotel for quite a time since pandemic started and no foreign customers can come to visit me becuase of closed border and quarantine. But it always a starting point for all of my private tours. Its Grandeur, its Splendid, its old place but you still get the feeling of uniqueness.I love their collection of photos (of dignities who stay here)Its a life history for me.
Came here with the package tour, where you get to visit the east tunnel. The steakHouse food were very blend. The fish was a little fishy, and the steak were pretty bad, dessert looks good but taste very artificial. Would not want to visit this place again.
The view from the “garden restaurant” is fantastic, both on nights and on days. There are multiple restaurants to choose from, but better to come earlier to assure yourself to get a seat. The hotel staffs are overall very experienced but lack passion and enthusiasts. This is such a pity, only if they can add some younger generations to work at the front desk. There are only 2 ways to reach the hotel, one is by foot 🦶🏼, you may walk from MRT JIANTAN, and go stairway (keep climbing up 🧗♀️ for about 10 minutes), or drive by yourself/ taking a free shuttle bus 🚌. It’s not convenient for people who with disabilities or parents that have babies 👶🏼 or toddlers. Wish they could add some rump beside the stairs. So we don’t have to carry the wheelchairs all the way from the bottom to the top 😖😖😖
The Yuanshan Hotel was built by Chiang Kai-shek, and it is based on traditional Chinese pagoda and building style. This used to be owned by the government, and nowadays people from all over Taiwan and the world visit. I went yesterday, unfortunately the sashimi wasnt very fresh, so I had bad stomach. Other than that, it was awesome!
The services are good. Staffs are friendly. Comfortable beds. Quiet room. Excellent swimming, tennis and game room facilities. Room cleaning would be improved from the experience of my stay.
iconic hotel w/ an amazingly rich history. every detail shouted grandeur, amenities were dated but possessed an old charm, and staff were so courteous & hospitable that we almost thought we were vips (which were not :P)! make sure to sign up for the hotel tour where youll hear about stories (& anecdotes, which made it all the more captivatingthat happened in this big red maze.
The Grand Hotel is the five-star hotel in Taipei,Taiwan. The Grand Hotel is a historical hotel, its have beautiful and luxury palace building. The view around the hotel is spectacular. In the hotel lobby, there have some wonderful performance and the hotel room is clean and broad. If you come to Taiwan , dont miss this famous Hotel!
Nice hotel with Chinese transitional design. Many restaurants to choose from. There’s a convenience store inside but not closed to the main area. Staff were friendly and helpful only one of the concierge was not friendly ( I guess he’s been working in the hotel quite long). Thanks so much for the nice room with a city view.
Classy. Clean. Good restaurant selection. Lots of boutique shops - if you are into that kind of thing. Very busy but not too crowded. Buffet restaurant was a 4 star - see separate rating. Didnt try the pool since raining. Upgraded us to nicer room for our wedding anniversary. They even gave us a card, bottle of wine, Swan towel and rose pedals on bed. Very good customer service. Room was big and comfortable with just about every amenity. Wonderful city view - especially after the rain stopped at night.Only one negative - smoking room. Even though they say non smoking, it had a definite smoke smell.
Breathtaking! I first visited the Grand Hotel about 18 years ago. Almost 2 decades later the feeling is exactly the same: administration of the exquisite architecture and design elements. An absolute must-see when in Taipei!
Beautifully designed lobby. Food at the chinese restaurant was delicious, especially their steamed dumplings and beef noodle soup. Service could improve a little, as waitresses were busy chatting to each other and not looking at customers...
This hotel is always one of the icons of Taipei with such a beautiful and traditional design. We had the executive en-suite room with a huge balcony overlooking the city. The room was very spacious with all amenities you needed. The bath & shower amenities were from the famous brand Ferragamo! The hotel breakfast was just ok as the food was not hot enough and the taste was just very ordinary. Although the hotel is not near the public transportation, there are 2 shuttle service to popular metro stations. I found it very convenient during my stay.If you’re not staying here, you can still join a tour to visit this famous hotel as it’s a tourist spot in Taipei.
Iconic, unique and full of history. A very interesting place to stay and the breakfast buffet is full of tasty foods to try. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. Although the location is not in the center of all the activity there are 2 free shuttle buses that take you to 2 different mrt stations which makes it easy to travel out to points of interest.
This is an absolutely amazing building in Taipei. The sheer size is massive. Both exterior and interior and very impressive. This is the destination hotel for dignitaries and royals from.around the globe. They have a massive lunch buffet at a reasonable price. Can get overwhelmingly crowded with tour groups at peak times... beware. Come late afternoon and see the gorgeous view change in beauty. Well worth the visit when in Taiwan.
We stayed here for the second time and had another great experience. This time we had more time to enjoy the swimming pool and relaxing at the resort. The staff are the most helpful and best at serving people. They made our stay amazing. I want to extend special gratitude to Mr. Jr, the restaurant and lounge manager for his outstanding service. I can’t wait to return next time we return to Taipei and stay here again.
Too beautiful, the ancient campus, good service attitude of the staff, standing from above can see the whole city of Taipei, the room is very beautiful, there are many visitors coming and going every day. Experience one day as a waitress here to fully understand the hard work of the staff. The attitude of professional service, effective and original
Absolutely brilliant place to stay in Taipei. The hotel service is fantastic, rooms are spacious, clean and stocked with the latest facilities. The building itself is historic and very impressive, walking around the hotel is advised. If youre after a small snack or a quiet drink, there is a small bar down the back of the hotel in the semi-attached (by bridgebuilding.
What a spectacular building! Unfortunately our room had no view and was quite small! The room was very clean, classy and comfortable just lacking in space. It is such a prestigious hotel and would definitely return if I travel back to Taiwan!Staff are friendly, professional and attentive!*South Melbournes #1 International Reviewer for Trip Advisor *
Very grand and historic hotel and restaurant. the view is excellent and could overlook the whole Taipei, seeing the sunset and night view.Food is standard and good quality. The sticky rice is goodThe dessert red bean cake is excellence.Worth to go at least once to experience the higher standard environment.Completely different from night market food
Beautiful hotel with significant contribution to Taiwans history. Staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Hotel rooms are amazing and the views are breathtaking. Can potentially get a view of the river and Taipei 101. Also has many excellent restaurants within serving high quality and authentic Chinese food.
This hotel is a great option to get the full Taipei experience while not staying in too expensive a location. Its a beautiful hotel with picturesque views inside and out. Great views of Taipei from the windows, especially if its a clear day.The room wasnt exceptional (and unfortunately they were painting down the hall that week, so the scent wafted in), but the staff was very helpful and the overall experience was great. The breakfast buffet was tasty and had endless options, so was a good place to start the day.Strongly recommend!
I went to the all you can eat buffet. The food is good. The price is decent. The coffee is excellent. The decor is beautiful. They have live music in the lobby. The place is busy but the wait was not too long. On the second floor, there are historical photos of important people that have visited the hotel.
