The staff are all very helpful and friendly during our group stay of 24-26 September 2022. We are a group of Malaysians staying there via our travel agent. The best is a Hungarian lady (whom I mistaken as Italianthat went 110% to cheer us up and serve.Surprisingly she was working during our dinner on 25th and then we saw her again on 26th breakfast.Despite her busy back-to-back shifts, she still managed to put up a smile to guests and colleagues. She deserves recognition and hence my effort in writing this review hahaOther staff worth mentioning is the gentleman tending the bar on 25th evening who was quite friendly and helpful (a cat went into the bar that night and he went to catch it)

My husband and I stayed here June 2006 and this is a very nice comfortable hotel. Our trip to Switzerland was amazing and this was a great place to stay. The staff were very nice and accommodating as well and overall made our stay here a great experience. The hotel was very clean as were the rooms.

Tour ended staying here after 12 day swing around A & S. Rooms are clean but small for tour group. Stayed on for two more nights with the easy accessible too town center via walking or bus.. No A/C and it’s been hot. Ate on the bar patio and food was really good. Relaxing there overlooking road on through the lake.

Kind of close to the lake, just across the street, an easy 5 min walk. Hotel is nice, but plan on not having A/C in your room… you can open the windows, if they aren’t broke like ours was. Glad we were here in July, was very pleasant temp at night. Upper 80* during the day. (Window wide open, no screenFood was ok.. not great. Couldn’t get the nextBike app to work or we would have used bikes to get around. All around an absolutely beautiful, spectacular place to visit Lucerne is !!

Not friendly staff in the breakfast-buffet. No gym, no pool. Rooms are just ok, nothing special.I forgot two expensive shirts in the closet in my room when I left, and Housekeeping claims they didnt find anything, which means theyre lying. Not a very good experience.EDIT:I gave 2 more stars since the staff did recover my shirts after a second email to them, and sent them to me.

View was nice and hotel room was spacious. An older hotel but well maintain. Encountered 3 lovely staff, yet most of the rest are so-so, with mind your own business attitude.Overall, was acceptable until we had to check out. In summary, the reception is not able to read my credit card and ask me TO READ THE INFORMATION OUTLOUD (it was still early in the morning but there were other guests as well). Apparently, he did not even know how the read the card properly.Below is the summary, taken from my email to them, for a full view of what took place. This happened around 6.30 am.‐---‐-------------------hi XXX and XXX,I had a wonderful stay until I had to check out.History as follow:1. An older guy was in the reception. We called him and he continued to look at the computer, ignoring us without saying a single word (not even good morning or hior even a glance.2. I then brought my 2 luggage in front of the door so my driver could pick it up, and suddenly he yelled and said I had to pay for the room.3. For sure I know and I had no intention to not paying.4. I gave him my card and he forced me to enter my pin, which I told him I always signed with that card.5. With hesitant, he said he had to do it manually. He tried to put it on several times, and kept getting rejected. He looked like he need a glasses but didnt put any on, and unfortunately also doesnt event know how to read the card correctly or how to read the CVC/CVV code (I knew this as later on he pointed at the wrong number of CVV)6. Then one of the guests, who apparently not patient, told me and my mom that he has encountered the problems and I should just give a new card. He has not right to jump into the discussion and no one is asking his opinion.7. Your reception then asked me to read my card information IN FRONT OF EVERYONE, including the number, the expiration date and the CVV number. This is unacceptable. It is a personal information and ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE SHARED AT ANY CONDITION.8. The guest also commented that CVV in American Express is a 4 number, and not 3. Obviously, he then has been ear dropping to my PERSONAL CREDIT CARD INFORMATION, He still has no right to be commenting as such.9. He still put in the wrong number and only after third trial he put in the right number. And my card worked, just like how it should.10. To make everything perfect, the guest commented that we had wasted his time in the morning and are being unpleasant. Of course, he wasnt there since the beginning and didnt know how RUDE your reception to us were.We had a very unpleasant situation. As a person who is also working in the service industry, I am very pleased and feel very respected by both of you. Thank you for this. But being ignored, disrespected, blamed (that my card didnt work while it was him who put the wrong number for so many timesand had to share my card information in front of everyone WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE.Hope you can maintain your service quality at a par level to all of your employees.

This is hotel that is just no longer grand. They advertise cooling systems but none of it works. The amenities include a safe in your room and a very tiny bottle of bath gel. The food is extemely bland and the the head man in charge of staff was so rude to his staff some of them were crying. Very hard to watch. I have stayed in many European hotels and this is a 2 star at best. Spend your money elsewhere.

If you are reading this you are probably on a Mayflower cruise. That is 90% of the the hotel business. It is an ok hotel. Its not the rooms or location that bother me, its the details. The beds are small but very comfortable. Little things, however, add up. The lack of coffee in the rooms or lobby is painful, especially when you are jet lagged. The food passes for fair and edible. Breakfast is the best but dinners are bland and boring. The shower curtain will frustrate you to no end. It needs to be heavier as it is drawn in every time you shower and will wrap around you. There are several trip hazards that will get you during your stay, especially on the main floor. Hotel owners please try to improve on these things and Id gladly increase your rating.

Our room was big, a little dated, bed comfy, tv small for the size of room, large couch which provided enough room for luggage storage, bonus point for seperate toilet, shower on the small size, like most hotels, breakfast was ok, hot food only just hot, no tea/coffee or water in room

Best view of the Luzern lake is offered for a pretty much higher price , but the facilities are all good in the hotel , but we need to pay a extra charge for room service which i think should not be there for this category hotel , offers a good view if a view room is booked but comes with a heavy price tag. Just 4-5 stops from the luzern Railway, could be though to get to it at nights from main city.

This hotel is great for a comfortable luxury stay with close proximity to downtown and the lake. The aesthetics are spot on, from the architectural design to the rooms. Admire the simple luxury of your room or the tasteful display of royal decor in the conference rooms and restaurants. It really is a "grand hotel europe". The flowers in the garden are the perfect welcome to any visitor. I found the staff to be exceptionally well trained, efficient, helpful and friendly. The walk from the hotel to downtown is very nice along the lake, it is safe and well maintained. Never before have I seen such a pristine city without any litter.

Far from grand...our room is so small would be lucky to fit 3 single beds, no privacy, a view only of other peoples rooms, no tea or coffee (5 francs for a teabag no fridge or kettle, no aircon, room is very stuffy, need to catch public bus to get to town centre. So looked forward to our stay but this has ruined our last days in Switzerland. The TV got the one star.

The approximately queen sized bed was two twin mattresses pushed together with 2 separate bottom sheets and no top sheet. No air conditioning. A miserable night, I have stayed in Motel 6 that provided better sleeping accommodations. I would have been better off sleeping on the street.

We stayed here as part of a tour across Europe and it was by far the worst On the trip. The description of modern rooms (there was a tv sitting on a desktopis a joke. A 4-star hotel? I don’t think so. Our room was tiny and completely undecorated with only a single electrical outlet in the room. The was no AC or even “air freshening” like other hotels in Europe have. It was in the 90 degree range when we visited and the rooms were like saunas. Their solution? Open the windows and plug in a fan. Maybe a cool drink to help with the heat? A bottle of soda will set you back about $7.50 and a large bottle of water $10. Breakfast was adequate but disappointing. The only plus for the hotel was its location, which is across from the waterfront and about half a mile from the shops of downtown.I would advise you to find somewhere else to stay.

Truly a wonderful hotel. The location cant be beat, so close to the waters edge of Lake Lucerne and a short distance from the bustle of the central shopping area. The hotel is traditional, retaining the style of a time long past but with rooms that are quite nice and modern enough. I truly didnt spend too much time in the room, if I wasnt out and about in town I was having a drink at the bar and enjoying the lovely view and weather from the front porch of the hotel. The bartender and concierge were very friendly and attentive. If youre expecting a typical, modern hotel experience with every amenity imaginable, this is not the place for you. But if you enjoy a romantic hotel with tons of charm and character, Grand Hotel is perfect.

Quaint Swiss charming rooms. Our rate included a bus pass which was great. It made the slightly further distance to shops and restaurants completely manageable. Rooms were clean and slightly smaller than we would have liked. Oddly enough most rooms have the toilet separate from the shower? Not a problem but a bit odd.

The Grand Hotel Europe is a Belle Epoch Four-Star Hotel, a short walk from the Lake Lucerne Promenade. It is not on the Promenade, as advertised. It is a 20-Minute walk from both the Lion Monument and the Chapel Bridge. The building originally dates from 1875. There are 169 rooms, ranging from Single to Suites. We traveled with a tour, so we did not have the best rooms in the house. This hotel does not have air-conditioning and charges for WiFi. Parking is Free.Tour buses unload their passengers at the side entrance, so we missed much of the exterior and some other amenities. The rooms were last updated in 2005, and ours felt and looked like it could use another. We ate in the Breakfast Room for our two-day stay and took our other meals elsewhere. The Breakfast Room had the feel of a ballroom. It hosted two tour groups that morning and ran out of some of the Buffet items. The wait staff seemed rushed and hurried and like they did not enjoy serving us.To sum up, this hotel is older, and it is a walk to the promenade. Rooms could use updating, and even in September, the room was much too warm for comfort.I expected better from a Four Star rating.

Room spacious and clean, but otherwise very basic, furnished like an ibis hotel room, in contrast to what you would expect from the Belle Epoque fassade of the buildling and the four star rating. No fridge and no kettle in the room. I could hear each footstep in the room above. Location somewhat away from centre, dull neighboorhood.

Listed as a 4 star hotel, it is worse than a 3 star motel. It provides minimum and very cheap supplies, no coffee, tee even a hot pot. It does look like 4 star from outside of the building.

I spend 1 night facing with a balcony facing the lake side, I had a problem with my room was 303, the smell was awful, I was shocked and I think all rooms like this, I call the reception about the problem, someone came to check and then he told me to offer a different room if you like and within minutes they changed my room to 107. I was way much better,I thank so much the hotel for the fast action.Breakfast start @ 6:30 …. I think or 6:00 am, can’t remember. The main city center is away for 10~15 minutes’ walk. There is no boiler kettle in the room however, you can still get your hot water in reception there is a corner room with internet also. (I hope they could provide a kettle in rooms)The hotel provided us a ticket you can use the bus for the whole stay for free which allow us to reach main city in roughly 2-3 minutes. Btw, the bus is availably every 5 minutes going to city center For the whole day but I am not sure about late night.WIFI is fast, I have to admit. Finally a hotel with a repayable internet speed. And YES….. Please try to remove the spider webs on the balcony, a very simple cleaning you would remove all those small spiders.

No a/c, extremely hot in the summer even with open windows and after taking a very cold shower. Comfortable bed, clean room, very friendly staff. Very close to the walking path along the edge of the lake. Although this hotel is of a more dated style than maybe offered in other hotels, the rooms are very clean and surprisingly spacious. For a family of three staying in one room, this was excellent for us. The hotel is just across the road from Lake Lucerne and we had lake views from our fourth floor room. Certainly in summer when the weather is so beautiful, we found that we were hardly in the room, but if the weather is bad it would be nice to have a less finicky wifi system etc. Overall very pleasant.

Inconvenient!!! 15-20 minute walk from down town. No tea pot and tea cup in the room, no free wifi (their ads are wrong: 5fr for wifiAfter my complaint, they took their ads down from the tripadvisor but it is still on the Google ads. They provide only two tiny soap bars and two bottle of shampoo and thin towels. There is a hair drier but no other grooming kits or shower cap. I felt like I stayed in a youth hostel, instead of 4 star hotel. Staff are dealing with too many group tour bus travelers. Understandably, they did not seem to have a time or patience.

The Hotel is nice and somewhat close to town center. The front desk service was wonderful, but felt the restaurant server was rushing is a bit to finish dinning. Another thing that bugged me is that wifi was not free. It costed me $10 euro for 72 hours, but the internet speed is fast at 45 Mbps. Overall, being in Switzerland and how expensive everything is this hotel is above average. I just wished the room had more amenities such as A/C, lotion, and more towels.
