Love my stay at grand court hotel. Very clean rooms and all facilitiesAwesome house keeping
Very good hotel food is very good and very clean rooms as at home. Love it i think this hotel is the cleanest one ever
Very beautiful hotel ❤❤The food is delicious and the behavior is very elegant Especially the cleanliness of the rooms and general facilities in the hotel Special thanks to all the staff
The rooms were nice and clean, but you can certainly feel their age, through the design and the condition of the hotel. This isnt a big deal, but does detract from the experience. The food is pretty good and offers different options each day. Dinner was also pretty good, even if it was somewhat basic.I will note many of the staff seemed to be fluent only in Arabic, while speaking barely sufficient Hebrew and English.
Housekeeping stole food from our room and ate some of our souvenir chocolate - management didn’t care. Unsafe, unfriendly and run down hotel in a bad location.
I believe the Grand Court "hits above its weight" overall. I believe its rated as a "3-star," but a very nice one. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, everything is clean and working. The breakfast is great. The location is a straight 15 minute walk to the Damascus Gate to the old city.
A lot of good food. But too many guests and not enough staff in the dining room. In total we had a great stay. The fitness room and pool was nice. Would be good to have some more weights in the fitness room.
The hotel is indeed beautiful, but the service and personal attitude of the staff are very poor.We are members of Modon and all Im interested in doing at this point is cancelling my membership of this club.My wife and I wanted to celebrate our birthday at a kosher hotel, we came with basic-high expectations from the site but we left the experience very disappointed! In short - if you are seeking a quiet, calmful stay with basic conditions, stay away from Grand Court Jerusalem! Our weekend was ruined by the very disappointing level of customer service and ability to help with basic needs. Our case is as follows (in order for you to make your own decision-On Friday afternoon, 1 hour before Shabbat (Saturday), we wanted to take a shower but there was no hot water in the shower. Only after many calls and an hour later, did someone supposedly come to take care of the shower, but Shabbat (Saturdayhad already set in. My wife and I are religious and we could no longer shower in hot water. We expressed our disappointment to the management - hot water is the most basic thing in any hotel. All of Shabbat (Saturdaywe waited for a basic apology, for treatment or for someone to contact us and address our problem, but simply nothing happened, we were totaly disregarded! But its not over,On Saturday evening we were flying and we wanted to take a proper shower before our flight, to our surprise, again there was no hot water!!!We realized that we actually had no hot water throughout our entire stay there, all through Shabbat (Saturday). We approached the the management once again, they apologized and tried to give us a solution - to shower in another room of the hotel, but this was irrelevant at this point since we already were on our way out to the airport.I asked the management that we would appreciate for customer service to make contact with us and she promised that they would be in contact on Sunday morning. And of course we were disappointed again, you can already guess what happened - no one contacted or called even though almost a week had passed since our very disappointing experience. The hotel and customer service did not meet our expectations. There were several opportunities to correct this situation, through our weekend and through the past week by contacting us. All opportunities were missed and therefore I have no choice but to share our experience on social media in order to warn others from having to experience this type of service in exchange for the money and time.
The rooms are a little dated. Inexplicably the hotel restaurant could not charge to our room so we had to pay VAT tax. That is not good. The pool is a little on the cold side and the pool facilities are not maintained. And the pool is too small when its very busy. The location is a gentle walk to Damascus Gates..
Love the hotel, the staff is wonderful. Confortable and big rooms. Great food
The f… cream puffs were unforgettable and showstopping.
Great breakfasts. Good layout. Nice rooms.
Excellent customer service. And the food humm!!! delicious .
Really would have liked to use the pool, however I didnt like the pigeons all around the pool
Service is awful the staff are rude and dont want to help you at all my friend asked for extra towels and got a grunted sigh as a response they didnt change my sheets for 2 days straight and they have small beds not even a king size bed they dont filter the AC and the pool is open basically 7 hours a day awful experience I do not suggest coming back to this hotel
I was only there for lunch, which was fantastic, the ambiance was excellent and the service was great
Food was horrible. Rooms were well kept. Service at the front desk was not desirable. Young man was very rude to my husband. He just asked where were the irons.
Good place. Food was mostly the same for breakfast and dinner. Would have liked to see more options.
The Food is terrible, the rooms are nice and clean.
The buffet was excellent. Huge selection. The rooms are generally good, but the shower was not fully enclosed and the faucet system was overly complicated. The WiFi was fairly poor, although it was available throughout the hotel, which is more than I can say for a lot of places I’ve been in Israel. Text and email was easy enough, but I had problems when trying to watch videos. The biggest problem was being here on two hot days and having no air conditioning. It was out for the entire building, so I couldn’t even move to a new room. And when I was waiting at the counter to talk to someone, I was there for five minutes without seeing anyone, and they had copies of passports and visas just sitting out in the open on the front desk. Security nightmare!
Great hotel, ckean, big, nice tooms, very good service, breakfast was very good, center location!
We got our room early, which is always good. Staff were friendly. Nice size room with a bath tub in the bathroom. Clean. Comfortable bed. Tea & coffee & an electric kettle in the room. On our first day we received a complimentary bottle of water & plate of biscuits. Breakfast was great. Fabulous selection with everything from made to order omlettes, salads, cereal, breads, yoghurt to warm cheese cake, fresh fruit & sweet pastries. The pool is small but a nice bonus in a fairly central hotel. You can walk to the old city in around 20 mins, or you can take the tram, which stops two mins walk away, a couple of stops into the centre. The free underground parking is a godsend! Most hotels in Jerusalem either charge for parking or dont have parking at all.
We spent about a week at this hotel and really enjoyed our stay. Our room was good sized and very clean and comfortable. The location is great as its a short walk to the Old City (Damascus Gateand lots of activity. There is a small fitness center (a larger room with more options would have been nice). The food was excellent(breakfasts and dinners were includded in our tour). There were plenty of options including a variety of entrees, great breads and cheeses. The dessert options were extensive and delicious. There was also amply seating in the dining area and so were we able to relax and enjoy time with our group in an unhurried atmosphere. We stayed in Feb so werent really able to use the outdoor dining options but that would be attractive in the warmer months. Highly recommended. Hope to stay here again on a future visit.
Lovely hotel with excellent customer service. They accommodated our group’s unusual circumstances storing large shipments of equipment for us in a special room. There is always something interesting going on in the lobby, i.e. groups from different countries serenading the crowd. The food is absolutely incredible and I can’t stress that enough!!!! For dessert, try the makovyi torte (the extremely dense poppyseed cake topped with dark chocolate icing). Message me for the recipe if wanting to try and recreate it at home!
Almost everyone has preconceived ideas regarding traveling internationally. Most are based on rumors and personal desires but not on proper information. Im no different. I certainly had the impression that citizens of Israel and Jerusalem would be kind, cordial, and helpful. This hotel was certainly filled with staff that met that expectation. Was everyone like this? No and there were far more of them than I would have liked to have engaged with. However, they didnt dampen my over all view of this hotel. When I come back to Jerusalem, I hope this hotel is the choice hotel of the trip.
Our stay at this hotel was extremely unsatisfactory. From when we checked in we were only greeted with nasty and degrading expressions. The service was poor, our room was never even cleaned one day. What a disgrace! Finally when we checked out, there was no one there to help us with luggage and the best we got was a nasty stare from the security guy. I am glad to be out of there and shall never return to this hotel.
The hotel is very focused on short stay tour business, so no frills. Rooms a good size with good size bathroom. All clean. Service in the hotel is functional but completely impersonal - no words if an arm wave will do. Food a bit 1-dimensional and always buffet style - a very wide range but hot food always the same: good but not tasty.
The hotel is considered 5* and is pretty close. The rooms are nice and clean the food in the dining room is plentiful and the staff are very helpful. The location is great as it is less than 10 minutes to the Old City.
The hotel is located in East Jerusalem in front of the ultra-Orthodox Mea Shearim neighborhood, worth a walk on a Saturday in the neighborhood.Beautiful hotel, beautiful rooms no door connecting the rooms.Good quality food in a reasonable selection. excellent service. Close to a train station. The hotel has a pool that runs for six months (in summerand a large parking lot compared to the amount of rooms.
The hotel location is outstanding! (15 minutes walk from the Old City). The rooms are comfortable and clean. It has a pool and gym. The restaurant buffet for breakfast and dinner is outstanding with plenty of offerings. The hotel is near to a tram station so its well communicated. A lot of tour operators work with the hotel so you should make reservations in advance and expect crowds on breakfast and dinner.
Beware these thieves charges me almost $500 at arrival for my Children being with us and we booked two rooms! Their website clearly states children under 13 are free! Not to mention they are not clean and rude staff! I had paid it because after long flight just wanted to settle in but still disputing this unbelievable charge! My kids are all under 10 they even charged me for my 1 year old !!!
Very big hotel with beautiful pool. Breakfast buffet is so good. Many options and the food is delicious! Authentic Israeli food options. Rooms were clean and staff was very nice especially the restaurant staff.
Modern building, beautiful decor, excellent staff, very comfortable accommodations, wonderful buffets at breakfast and dinner. Turned off AC because it was too cold and did not adjust. Safe and fridge in room but no microwave. BYO washcloth!
The Location Was its Best Feature - This was not our favorite hotel during our road trip through Israel. The buffet dinner and breakfast were ordinary. I would have eaten elsewhere if the meals were not included and I had more time. The hotel room was dated and needs desperately to be upgraded. The hotel’s best feature was its location. We were able to walk to and from the old city which we liked.
I loved this hotel! The staff was helpful and friendly. The food was wonderful! It is of course, Israeli food. But there is a huge variety and sometimes they serve American food on the buffet. The room was very clean and I felt safe here. They had a place across the street that belongs to the hotel where you can swim in the Dead Sea. That is an experience you dont want to miss! The attached photos are from the buffet. There are countless options for Desert! And it changes each day.
You will miss your old dial up once you use the WiFi here. Employees really could care less about guests. Food is good , usually a nice dessert spread. Spacious room but don’t expect a king size bed , they use 2 singles pushed together. If you can try to get a room close to the elevator because it can be a long walk . All in all it’s been a pleasant comfortable stay. Housekeeping does a great job cleaning the rooms.
The room I checked was on 10/f. The view is open towards the west of Jerusalem. Room is clean but a bit old fashioned. I had dinner buffet here though the quality is fair. They offered wide range of choices.
My wife and I were tour leaders for a group of twenty people, many who had never been to Israel before. When we first arrived at the Grand Court they informed us that the porters “are not available”. The hotel was full, however there were no other groups arriving and it was 4:00 pm and the lobby wasn’t very busy. Instead of telling us to leave our bags and the porters would take them up later, the person at the desk told us we would have to carry our own bags to our rooms. Not great since we had been traveling all day and were looking forward to a showers, rest and hot meal. Even worse we had a handicapped person in our group that was not able to carry her luggage and really needed assistance.Dinner was a problem as well. They have a huge dinning room and seemed to accommodate other, even much larger, groups by seating them together. When we asked the restaurant staff if we could sit together the host became irate and told us it was “impossible”. From that day on he moved us to the very far back corner of the restaurant and separated our group even more, as punishment perhaps? One morning a couple from another group sat at our table because there was not enough room at their table and used the place settings. We asked for clean place settings since we would now be two short. The waiter seemed put out and called over the host who said “I’ll take care of it”, but never did. We had to share silverware with our people to make it work. One morning at breakfast the table I was sitting at was partially blocking the isle and after having my coffee spilled twice by people having trouble getting by I decided to move the table about 6” to make a bit more room. A server ran over and scolded me that “there are Jews watching you work on Shabbat!” “This is not allowed here!” However, he promptly moved the table back into the isle.On our last morning the front desk staff told us they were very busy and would appreciate it if we would bring our own bags down to the lobby. We did and thought the porters may load them on the bus when we were done with breakfast. However, when we we ready to load, again there were no porters in sight. We began to carry our bags out and had most of them loaded (we had to catch our flight home so could not wait on the absent porterssuddenly a porter came running at me yelling STOP, STOP! So I set my bag down right next to the bus. He told me “Don’t touch the bags!” He loaded it and two other bags with the help of our driver then DEMANDED a tip. I refused citing lack of customer serving and his rudeness. This is a very nice hotel, beatiful and was tidy, our room was very satisfactory, but the customer service is AWFUL!
I enjoyed my stay. I cant wait to visit gain. Its actually one of the best in Jerusalem. Great meals, accommodation and service just improve on the security at the entrance they need to be more friendly and smile to guests!
We stayed for one night. Everything was very good. We loved the hotel and its location and rich breakfast. Free parking was a great bonus, but one should take into consideration that in high season there may not be parking place.
Nice place, within walking distance of the old City. At night the corridors leading to the rooms are darkened. Not dark but with low level lighting. Presumably as an energy saving measure. People who might have trouble seeing should be aware of this and bring a flashlight. Just in case, to help you traverse the corridors at night
Although I can understand why some might consider this a 4-star hotel, by western standards is more like a weak 3-star. The rooms are decent though a room with two beds are stuck together and you are sleeping with your travel partner. The internet is old and spotty. Sometimes working, mostly not. Better to use cell data if you have something important to do.The food is okay, but becomes repetitive if you stay more than two days. Drinks are expensive at the bar.The hotel has a pool, yet it was closed for the season because it’s winter...in October with 30c or hotter.
After a hot day exploring, check in to find out the supposedly fabulous pool area not only closes at 1800hrs, but is segregated. Men only for last 2 hours! Not happy. Get to our room to find empty fridge and not even 1 bottle of complimentary water in the room! Not happy. Some sort of Jewish convention on at the time, so not only is the hotel jam-packed, but 1 million kids running around screaming. Fantastic...and dont be late to dining room!5 star? I dont think so.Fingers crossed for a good nights sleep! This is a hotel for tour groups and families, not for those who might want something a bit better and quieter. Last night there was a kid riding a bicycle around the lobby! Really? It is also not a view hotel.Only 1 small bar in this large hotel. Even there we had to ask to get a large number of unruly children to be told to quieten down.Incredibly even getting things booked to your room seemed to be a problem for staff. Generally unfriendly and unhelpful staff. The beds were comfortable but overall not much to recommend. We spent 2 nights here. Go somewhere else to ensure your Jerusalem experience is totally enjoyable.
I just spent 4 nights there, with my group of 25. The hotel accommodations are fine. But between 3-5am the first night, 4 members of the group got sick, vomiting and diarrhea. At first we thought it might be food poison, as it affected each in the same time frame. They were in different rooms, and ate at different tables. We couldnt identify specific food. However, the same symptoms moved through our group over the next 3 days, affecting 15 of the 25. We spoke with other guests staying there, and heard similar stories--50 of 81, 17 from another group, multiple numbers from other groups. Even extending to confirmation of similar problems in discussions on the flight back to the US. When informed at the first sign, the hotel said it was just our 4, and then said that the 50 were sick upon arrival at the hotel. Now we think it must have been a virus, but got no assurance that the hotel would check or take actions to stop the spread. Most of the rest of us quit eating the food there, just to be safe. Not a good thing to have prior to the start of the tourist season! Management response was less than desirable.
This hotel is well located in Jerusalem. Its 15 min walking from the old city and within a walking distance to public transportation. Breakfast is really good and it offers a variety of dishes to start the day. Rooms are clean and has enough space.
Good location. Staff are generally very nice. Apart from John, the door man. Claimed to be police and wouldnt let me in after I came back from a jog. Probably because Im not Jewish. Got in eventually after explaining I have a room etc. Breakfast was okay, had better in Premier Inn. Same with the rooms. They were a bit tired and old school. House keeping was poor, they never cleaned the bathroom once in 4-5 days, just replaced soap etc. Wouldnt stay again.
Came with a church group (52). Accommodations were okay...clean. Food was average to poor. Ok if youre only going to be there for a day. Food that was supposed to be hot was cold. I fear the health inspector in Canada would shut them down for that reason alone. They crowd you together if your with a group ...poor dining seating. On the whole staff was friendly and helpful. Close to the light rail. 10 minutes from the garden tomb.
My wife and I spent three days here last week. It has a pretty good location for exploring Jerusalem. You are less than a 10-minute walk from the garden tomb and another 5 minutes to the Damascus gate of the old city. Theyre always taxis available in front of the hotel as well. The rooms are fairly clean and reasonably comfortable. The air conditioning did not have much control with the on wall thermostat. I think the room does what the hotel programs at to do.There is not much of a view as the rooms generally face the inner Court. The lobby front desk and restaurant staff were generally helpful and pleasant. The lobby often had some flavored Waters at the entrance for when you returned to the hotel. The 8th floor does have a small gym. It was not very heavily used but also not very modern. It did have a water cooler which was nice to refill bottles with and the room had okay air conditioning. We ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurant each day and these were decent. They had a pretty large selection and did have a theme for each of the three evenings that we are there that was nice to have a little more variety than the other 10 days we spent in the region (one night they had a stir fry rice noodle dish, another night they had burgers and hot dogs, and the third night they had a chocolate themed dessert bar. This was in addition to the good selection of traditional Middle Eastern Foods that are very commonly found in the region). They were many buses located in front of the hotel as many tour groups use this hotel as it can accommodate large numbers of people.I would consider staying here again if returning to the area.
The food there is hidious. Couldnt eat there once. Dinner/breakfast.... I wouldnt serve that to my dog either.Beautiful place but filthy and disgusting. No window in the room at all. No open area. The hotel is close with big windows and no air conditioning. Too hot walking at the corridors. All the workers there are Muslims... Shouting and yelling between them.I had a horrible weekend.
Lovely friendly staff in reception & restaurant. Comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast buffet full of a great variety of fresh food. Just goes a bit awry around Passover time when they have to prepare the hotel to be kosher. If you want to avoid the dinner buffet you can order from a limited menu at the bar; great quality food at a decent price of you cant be bothered to leave the hotel.Great gift shop; different stuff to the usual tourist traps and reasonable prices. ATM can be used to access your own Aussie dollars, compared to others I experienced in Jerusalem where they converted YOUR money into Yankee dollars first which costs more.
