Grand Café in Reno

I ordered wonton soup and fish and chips the food was awful for the price!..The wontons and shrimp were over cook and the fish sticks were made out of frozen fish sticks.

Went to get a table this morning, and walking by the main seating area, there are 6 or 8 empty tables. My fiancé and I ask about the wait and were told it would be about an hour before we could be seated. If they were down a cook or something, I would have understood but the dipwad at the front gave no reason, only repeated “about an hour”. Won’t try to eat here again.

An amazing restaurant, it boarders on a casual upscale environment with delicious food and wonderful staff. Taking the environment and quality into account, you get what you pay for!

Great spot for lunch, big portions, delicious food that will fill you up, burger was cooked to perfection, and the service was fast and friendly.

This restaurant is my go to at GSR. Good food, good service, a variety of dinner choices. I would forego the rice based dishes. The to go set up works well.

I have never wrote a review for anything before, however. This is the worst restaurant I’ve ever been in.

AWFUL. For starters, our food took an hour and 40 minutes to get to us. A friend ordered the Mac and cheese but was given the Mashed Potatoes and was still charged for it, There was no silverware because they "ran out" (makes no sense because you can just wash themWe kept asking for water, at least 4 times and was ignored. The steak wasnt seasoned, the roasted veggies were still raw and cold. The service was very bad, Kept asking for silverware and just had employees roll their eyes. It wasnt busy at all I dont understand why itd take an hour and 40 minutes to make 3 items. Eating a $36 steak with plastic silverware is dreadful. At least we had water which I assume was taken from Tahoe itself because of how long it took to get even the slightest refill. I will never coming back and I will never recommend this place. Word of advice, just go somewhere else, its not worth the time we spent and absolutely not worth the money. 0/10.

Food took 1 hour to come out and all we got was small portioned, overpriced, and they even brought the wrong items. I don’t usually post reviews but this place was terrible.

The lady was really rude when I only ask how long was the wait time it was early morning. People should not be rude specifically when you are in vacation you decide to stay dear.

Located inside the Grand Sierra Casino. This is the go to restaurant for everyone in your party. Huge menu, something for everyone. Large portions and all the dishes are darn good too. Reasonably priced.

We ordered twice for room service. Both times got our order wrong and forgot items. Wish it would have been better. Sadly it was not.

Located in the grand sierra hotel and casino area Tucktaway back in the corner. Staff was friendly enough and efficient. My drink order came pretty quickly and I ordered breakfast. Breakfast came within a reasonable amount of time. I have to say I was somewhat disappointing in the eggs Benedict with hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were cooked enough on the outside but uncooked on the inside and they were barely warm. The waitresses and servers were very friendly frequently checking on me if I needed anything. This is not my first time I have eating here. it’s probably the eighth or ninth time most of the time I have no complaints about the food or service. I’m hoping this is the exception.

Best breakfast in Reno , it’s the white toast 4 me.

Im surprised at the reviews...everything our group ordered here was delicious. The salmon, War won ton soup, fish and chips, and BLT were just a few of the favorites. The menu has a wide variety, which normally would be a warning sign for me (because how could they create good dishes for such a varietybut everything was great! Ive eaten here multiple times, the service is great. There is sometimes a wait even though it seems empty but this is because there is not enough waiters or the kitchen is backed up.

Whatsgo-anon round here?...I had steak n eggs (at 11:00pmmy Wife had a steak Sammich we came to see Blood Sweat and Tears. Ate here after the show... The Drummer and Bass player sat right across from us so we introduced ourselves on the way to the register.. very cool 😎😎 guys and amazing talent (one of the best rythem sections Ive seen since Santana.. a pleasure to meet them both.. and the food was good.

The Bulgogi was delicious! Tender steak and flavorful sauce.

Eh. Truly nothing special about the food or restaurant. Tried a few items on the menu you, once for room service which they forgot one of the main items we ordered and once again when we went in house for breakfast… the hostess was walking around hating life and the waitress was not the best. Never came back to check on us or anything. Not impressed at all

Sat there for an hour waiting for a simple burger. The restaurant was empty. Didn’t even bother waiting any longer. What a waste of time.

Sometimes, the wait was long even when the restaurant looked almost empty, which was weird.However, no need to wait in line there. Just gave them my phone number and they sent me a text when my table was ready, so I could go and do other things while waiting.Food was good, with good portions as well and not too overpriced. Server was always fast and attentive to my need. Overall, a great experience there.

Save the upcharge for shrimp.For the shrimp chow mien, and the chow mien itself was really good, but the shrimp was just... Bad. It honestly tasted like the cheap frozen stuff.Shame, because I liked the rest of it, but feel it probably wouldve been better with any other protein.

Didnt even bother to eat. A basically empty restaurant but was told it would be a 1 hour wait. Ridiculous when theres nothing else even open.

I have read through several of the reviews and not sure if they are reviewing the late night grab and go place or the actual Grand Cafe.I go to the Grand Cafe just about every time I have come to Reno. Service is usually pretty good, especially if you get Sonia for your waitress. She is super efficient and she has a very positive, bubbly personality! I stopped in for breakfast before my drive home and I ordered an omelette, rye toast, no hash browns, add fruit and she let me know there would be a small extra charge for the fruit ( no big deal.The omelette was great and the bowl of fresh seasonal fruit was packed with fresh strawberries, pineapple, honeydew and grapes - excellent! Sonia stopped by the table to check if everything was to my satisfaction and if I needed anything else, super attentive!They definitely need to hire more Sonia’s!I would also like to compliment my host, Violeta- she is very sweet, kind and a rockstar!!

Servers are great. The kitchen is the worst. I ate for breakfast. Worst eggs ever. I had a steak here. It was over cooked and had no flavor. I at a Philly steak, it had no flavor and the onion rings were soggy and dripping with grease. Did I mention the servers are great. The hotel management does not seem to care about food quality or they would do something about it.

Complete Trash. I mean wow. I’m truly surprised that GSR found a barrel that deep to scrape out of. 10/10 do not recommend. The food is quite literally foul.

Ordered the BBQ burger minus Onions. This is what i got for $20.00 bucks a burger with barley any BBQ Sauce. Lile if youre going to charge 20 bucks and up for your Burgers and least put some sauce on it geez! I will not go back to this restaurant inside The GSR resort waste of money. I get more BBQ sauce on a Mc Donalds burger!It was also hard to understand the servers. Not much of a big deal, but they have heavy accents.

This place is pretty expensive!The food is no good at all.The service was Awful our order got messed up! Person who serve us didnt even give us utensils we ended up getting it and we serve our self water to drink 🤣 so awful! And they charge us $25 an automatic gratuities because we got an 11 old baby with us that make us 6.Never again!

Was seated quickly and waited on in a timely fashion got my drink quickly i.e iced tea waiter was very helpful and super nice order the bacon burger with onion rings was a little under cooked but still good would be nice if they asked what condiments youd like other than having to wait for waiter to come back for that the food was good onion rings were good could of served a little more for the price not really in my opinion an $18 budget and an iced tea isnt no $5.00 customer service was very good though staff was nice.

We wanted to go to California Pizza Shop but it is no longer open for lunch. The only option for a sit down lunch is the Grand Cafe. Im a returning local who used to go to this cafe when it was the MGM Grand Coffee Shop so I hoped this would be decent. Our waitress was slammed but she was incredibly efficient and nice--in fact, everyone was welcoming and nice so we left a good tip. The food, however, was terrible. We got the fish and chips and the brisket burnt ends as both sounded good and we were going to split each dish. Most of the food we left on the plate. My mom felt sick while eating and I feel gross three hours later. I dont think we have food poisoning, but the meal turned our stomaches--most things were tasteless but the cole slaw had a fishy flavor for some reason. Even the french fries had no taste at all. Each item was more flavorless or downright disgusting than the last. The iced tea wasnt good but my mothers coke was decent.Again, though, very nice service.

Very disappointing breakfast. Bagel, croissant and biscuits premade then heated in microwave were so tough you couldnt with a knife! Worst gravy ever!We always liked the cafe but we wont be back.

Terrible service, after receiving a text from room stay I went to pick up my food, I was told by Daisy, she didnt have time to help me, after 5 minutes, another hostess Tyree, walked up. I asked her for help, she said no food was ready, they laughed and muttered I tried to show them confirmation, Tyree left and I said Ide leave a review, I was then told "Your Mama" aby Daisy.. a manager came up threatening security and asked my money be refunded and lost his temper and couldnt compose himself. I was shocked by this behavior

Lets start with the positives. Was seated quickly. Now that is as far as it goes. We never really had a waitress. We got one from another area but not the one we should have had. So we ordered 2 appetizers and I had a Dr. Pepper and my wife had a water. Our waitress by proxy ordered our food and it wasnt bad. Then a manager came by and did nothing. Would not recommend this place at all

We are here after a softball tournament! The food and drinks were amazing and our server Viridiana was absolutely incredible! One of the best serving experiences I’ve ever had!

We had to wait 30 minutes for a table so thought this would be a pretty good place. I was a little disappointed.The BBQ pulled pork sandwich did not taste bad, but really small for the price. More like the size of a slider. I also ordered a beer and it came out warm. The server said all the bottles come from the same cooler so would be the same. The server did take it off the check but kind of surprised that a restaurant in a casino could not serve a cold bottle of beer.My wife ordered the "Bulgogi" Korean Steak Bowl which was supposed to have Bulgogi sauce. It was also kind of small for the price, but the worst part was it tasted like a very simple beef stir fry I make at home. There was absolutely no Bulgogi flavor in the meat or the sauce. Was pretty disappointed for $17 for a small bowl lacking in flavor.I will probably look elsewhere for a place to eat when visiting the Grand Sierra Resort in the future.

Ordered room service.. We had to go downstairs to pick up which wasnt a problem. Waiting time was 36-40 minutes. Asked for extra plates for the kiddos and condiments. Was told they didnt have extra plates (why wouldnt they have paper plates or trays?and seemed bothered by having to get condiments for us. Forgot our drinks had to look up receipt to show we had ordered drinks. Staff was rude and short. Long story short I wouldnt order here again or want to deal with the people that work here again.

Service was so so and slow. Expensive for the food. Both my friend and I didn’t feel well at all after eating there twice. Thought the first time the chicken was undercooked, but the next night gave it a second chance and ordered a chefs salad. How does that happen twice? Eat somewhere else. The steakhouse and Mexican restaurant is so much better.

We went here 7/11/21 at 8:30pm. The food was decent. I was expecting like a Dennys or IHOP situation, but it was much better than that. Its a little expensive, but what youd expect for being in a casino. One waitress that manned the host booth for a moment was incredibly rude to us. I didnt catch a name but she was white, 20s/early 30s with shoulder length brunette hair. Everyone else was very nice and attentive. The wait staff really stood out to me. Our order was taken right away. Drink refills were on point. I got the impression that our waitress was new, but she did a great job as did the other waitress that kind of was overseeing her.

Worst restaurant I’ve ever been in my whole life! Waited 30+mins to be seated and that’s understandable. But waiting for an hour (or maybe more if we didn’t walk outto have someone take our order is just unacceptable! AND seeing people who just seated and get taken care of right away was really upsetting! We informed the manager in-charge twice, said he already sent someone, but no one ever came to take our order. We let our family know, even friends to not eat here!

Decent food, service was good and the coffee was hot. I would call it average, and the only restaurant open in the morning at GSR

All I want to say is Susan is the best⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. This waitress has the best energy even under pressure. I go to this place at least 3x while Im at the GSR. The food is always good too and comes out pretty quick. Even today with 2 cooks and 2 waitresses. I wouldve never known unless Susan told us this morning.

I give this place 5 stars not for the food but for the service. Tyree was our waitress and she was amazing. She was so friendly. One of the meals too extra long to come out and she was very apologetic. Thank you Tyree for making out visit a great one!

Looks recently renovated. Burger was subpar. More toppings than actual burger. Would not recommend the cheese burger. Fries were average.

I would put 2.5 stars if that were a thing. If the cafe at the Peppermill is a decent Dennys then this one at Grand Sierra Resort is a lesser quality Dennys. It was just about the only thing open before 4pm (aside from a couple fast food spotsBasically if I was asked to verbally describe this place in a few words I would say "It wasnt terrible". And thats about the best I could say.Service was fine but not memorable.Food wasnt terrible but definitely not especially tasty and my bun was overly toasted and dry. The sauce tasted ok but there wasnt enough of it on the sandwich/pork. My wife said the meatballs were pretty good but the rest of the spaghetti was just ok and the bread was pretty hard/crunchy.As with most of my mediocre reviews I like to qualify them that its possible we didnt have very good luck ordering the right things. Its possible theres something on the menu that stands out and is amazing but I generally like to ask that question of my server right when I get to a place so that I improve my odds of ordering their standout meal. So like most Dennys style cafes this place is a spot to go when everything else is closed or you are too drunk to care.

Would of gave 5 stars but they charge a 4$ take out fee...man i get it these guys need to live...but the Bulgogi Bowl was on point sum meat and veggies...was goin to get a breakfast something but this was a bit better...will be coming back next time im in town...suks pool was closed but hay...got to be safe then sorry

What a joke. For take out you have to do a reservation. But for dine in you get a seat with no reservation. Waited an hour and 20 minutes for a burger that has a patty the size of a mcdanold cheese burger. Didnt even have sauce on it. And it cost more then a CJ burger. What a disappointment.

So glad this place exists inside GSR. The food is way better than I expected and service was great too. Giovanni was able to suggest ordering to-go so that I could finish the Warriors and Sharks games in the Sports Book, but I ended up deciding to wait to eat, and that was a terrific decision because Rosie (Rosario on the receiptwas a wonderful food server! Buffalo wings were crispy because sauce was on the side, at her suggestion, and clam chowder was outstanding. HUGE chunks of clams throughout.A return visit for breakfast the next morning was a smart choice. $15 homemade corned beef hash was really good, and probably smarter than the $27 champagne buffet option. But dinner food and service was really where it was at!

Went there few times and got lucky to have Mariella as our server:)!!! She was amazing every time, made us feel welcome.Ask for her;), most amazing and loving woman I ever met!!Food was fast and great portions!!Thank you so much Mariella!!

Staff is friendly now. Food is not much special. Is it good? It depends on you. It takes a long time to wait for your order even its not a full house.

Okay so its not the food. The food is just okay, but its the people that serve you hear that are really the stars of this restaurant. I would like to give the five stars in this review to Jennifer, the hostess who served me this evening. She is one of the most kind, sweet and thoughtfull service workers that Ive ever met. If you get a chance stop by here and say hi to her. Oh and have something to eat too.

Nice decor and friendly staff. Menu is a bit limited compared to other cafés in Reno. Decor and staff get the 2 stars, the other 1 star is for the only thing I come here to eat. The Philly Cheese Steak with melted cheese! Delish!Would’ve given them 5 stars if they didn’t remove the waffle fries from their menu. Now I gotta go to the Peppermill or Western Village in Sparks just to get my Waffle Fries! The struggle is REAL!
