Gran Hotel Miramar Málaga in Malaga
Description
A world class hotel in every respect. Service, rooms, and location are all top notch. Without question the best hotel in Malaga.
MoreFor the most part, staff was great, especially housekeeping, Viktor the concierge and most of the bellman. When we first arrived at 2:00 in the morning and found a single bed the bellman who escorted us to the room suggested that we, and 82-year-old woman and 50-year-old daughter-in-law, pull apart the beds ourselves. We were very tired and when housekeeping came to perform this service for us, it took two women familiar with the practice over 20 minutes. We thought his suggestion was very flip and not something we expected from a high end hotel. It also would have been nice if the hotel had some presence on the beach, the pool area was very loud stemming from the heavy traffic noise, and to experience the foul odors from the traffic fumes made the experience at the pool less pleasant. The tuna that I dined on at the pool area was exceptionally fresh and delicious. The location of the hotel itself, was great with the exception of the traffic which separated the pool area from the beach. The pool attendant who helped us with our chairs, was also lovely and a great addition to your staff.
MoreWonderful five star hotel . Outdoor Restaurant overlooks the ocean and serves great food with attentive service . The ideal place for a special or romantic occasion .
MoreMy wife and I stayed at the Miramar at the beginning of Sept 22. Its a very nice hotel. When you walk in it has an excellent luxury ambiance. Its a pretty pricey place to stay and I would say that the quality of the rooms reflects that cost. A huge comfy bed, luxury plumbing, slippers and bathrobe, and so on. For one night we had a luxury bedroom at the front of the hotel. The one on the left side with a large terrace overlooking the sea. Its the whitest room Ive every stayed in. As it was ££££££ we moved to a lesser room at the side of the hotel. Not as big, but just as nice in my opinion There were even two showers in our massive shower cubicle.Didnt use the pool area but it looks very nice. Didnt use the Spa or the gym. Next time maybe. The only meal we had at the hotel was breakfast on the first morning. The huge buffet was very impressive and If you can eat alot of food for breakfast, then probably worth the money. For me and my wife its the most expensive coffee and toast weve ever had (€27 each). The main problem for me at breakfast was the noise. What a racket. On the other hand, the roof to bar is a haven of peace and tranquility. Watching the evening draw in over a sparkling sea is stunning. A Spanish G&T last for most of the evening and the ice cubes dont seem to melt. All the staff we encountered were delightful and smiley. Its very expensive to park a car at the Miramar (or any central hotel). But you pull up at the front door, they unload all your luggage and take it to your room. Then your car is parked for you. Thats great.I cant think of a single thing to complain about which is unusual for me.Id like to see some kind of morning cafe for us light eaters. Its a big hotel. perhaps I missed it.Im sure we will return.
MoreWe had a wonderful stay, service was excellent and your staff were very friendly. Id highly recommend staying with you.
MoreBeautiful hotel with great rooms and modern equipment. Excellent customer service. Employees are always happy to help and seems they all enjoy their jobs.Special thanks to Joel (el mejor!for helping us with navigation and restaurant suggestions.Muchas gracias!!
MoreExcellent - a true 5* property.Great location, Staff were all excellent.I had dinner on the terrace and it was really very pleasant indeed.Hotel Rooms were very well appointed. Beds are superb.Corridor Carpets are badly stained and do not reflect well on the hotel.
MoreRoom was very clean (props to the cleaning staff), staff in general was very very friendly and helpful.small but comfortable gym with some essential equipment, i liked working out there (never had issues with it being too cramped, have only met 1 other person max at a time at the gym, maybe i got lucky?)pool area was ok, nothing special but the best they could do for the location.location (right next to malagueta beach - which isnt my favorite but its a city beach so be vary of that - and about 10-15 mins from the centre by footwas just what we were looking for - right next to the sea but kinda central. a lot of the typical sightseeing places are also right around the corner aswell.
MoreService and amenities were top notch. Couldnt ask for anything better in those areas. We were missing some bathroom amenities when we first arrived, however the hotel and crew completely made up for it with complimentary champagne and fruit, and a free bag with goodies. I would recommend to let guests know that restaurant seating and places to eat around lunch time are limited, and would be very wise to make reservations in advance. We probably over-used the room service against our will because there was no other options to eat due to over capacity in restaurants, and the snack bar in the lounge wasnt open. We did enjoy an anniversary dinner with excellent food and service. The live music at the restaurant and beach and pool views of palm trees set a perfect ambiance. The spa was very nice, facials and massages are excellent as well, however not over-priced. Some of the best hotel staff weve ever experienced and we will be coming back for another visit. Easily the best place to stay in Malaga.
MoreAbsolutely fantastic hotel and more importantly, great staff. The location is very close to the beach and only 10-15 mins walk into the centre. We particularly liked the rooms, the different eating options around the hotel / pool and the nearby high-end select eateries. Theres also a convenience store about 3 mins away. Would happily stay here again.
MoreThe hotel and the room where both beautiful and spacious and they were on top of service during our stay. Two things really soured the experience for us : 1. the staff did not take away the used towels laying around the pool so you never knew if the places were taken because the people were in the pool or if they just left. We could not sit by the pool at all because it always appeared full, but the number of people in the pool didn’t match the random chairs with towels on them. 2. We asked the hotel to arrange a car for us from the hotel to the airport, as we had when we arrived, but instead of doing that they ordered a horrible taxi that drove like a madman, had no air conditioning and charged us 30 euros for a car that was falling apart and had garbage from previous rides in it.
MoreBest Hotel ever in sud of Spain! Me and my husband spent here our honeymoon! Amazing piace and lovely staff! Recommemded!
MoreThe hotel was beautiful and clean. The personnel were helpful, friendly. The rooms were roomy and clean. The food was fresh, tasty. Variety of food and beverage. Overall, it was a very good hotel. I’ll highly recommend it.
MoreWonderful hotel - we had a really fantastic stay. Thank you to all of the staff for making us feel so welcome.
MoreThis jaw dropping building is one of the best hotels we stayed. As soon as you arrived, you are greeted with a palatial foyer with beautiful touches of arabic inspired decor. The sitting room is fascinating which leads to the grand balcony overlooking the pool and seaside. This hotel was so good we stayed twice in a matter of 3 months. Our room was beautiful and luxurious. They use Bvlgari as their toiletries and I like the fact that they turn your bedroom around in the evening ready for you to sleep. Our room comes with breakfast with excellent spread of food from smoked salmon and cava. The cold meats were high quality. You can also get food to order from eggs royale to eggs benedict. This was such a luxurious experience and we recommend this to our friends who visits Malaga. It is conveniently located with a short walk to the centre. You can pass the bullring and the fountain roundabout on your way to town. The hotel oozes class and quality. The hotel has a spa with various water therapy. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, even just to visit.
MoreJust beautiful. A lovely experience from start to finish.. Our room was small but served us well. Breakfast had a vast selection & was lovely. Pool area busy but managed to get a bed. Staff couldnt do enough for you. Very helpful & always smiling. Would definitely return.
MoreThis is hands down one if the best hotel experiences weve ever had. Beautiful hotel (Palacio!), lovely new, clean rooms and an excellent breakfast. Definitely add that on, you wont regret it. It was a such a lovely way to start each day, dining near the fountain on local cheese, meat and fruits.Theres also an excellent terrace restaurant for dinner. Try the Malaga wines and seafood! Additionally you can end (or startyour night with a beverage on the roof!I regret to say we did not utilize the pool or the spa, beyond using those entrances to access the beach (by key card, both sides!). But they looked highly enjoyable.Lastly, I want to thank the staff. Especially the concierge. My husband had lost his luggage and they called the airport, recommended shopping close by and were really jsuy a great help all around. Also excellent dining suggestions!OK, Ive said enough. This is THE place to stay in Malaga.
MoreEnjoyed every minute of our four night stay , the staff where very welcoming ,friendly and courteous . The property is stunning ! immaculate throughout fantastic location . A proper 5 star experience . Will definitely be back ...
MoreTrue 5 star service from hotel staff. Everyone encountered helped me above and beyond from the arrival to hotel from porter till last min I left. Housekeeping comes much much faster than other hotels. They helped beyond regular hour. Great location across street from beach. Love the fact swimming pool was across street. Swimming pool attendant was working very hard and great service to ensure me to have shade. Loved view from roof top bar. And again great service from roof top bar staff. Enchanted by beauty of hotel architecture and details. Breakfast buffet is a must. Food selection is delicious. You must go there. Despite the fact it gets very busy, staff works miraculously giving me good attention always. This is second time I go there and I shall come back even though airplane connection is not convenient from NY. ( Delta stopped direct flight ).
MoreFantastic building and friendly service. Rooms are well decored and comfortable. Maids are attentive and thorough. Pool area is a little crowded but its not a hotel I would pick for a swimming holiday. Food at the restaurant was good. A short (25 minutepleasant walk to the main parts of the city; its not a bad thing being away from the busier streets. Access to the beach is across a road.
MoreThis review is for the pool-side restaurant only, as we were not guests staying at the hotel. The ambiance was elegant and beautiful, but the lunch there was sadly well below par.We were in Spain for two weeks and hadnt had Paella yet. We figured this was the place to enjoy a truly traditional meal. Right off the bat, the menu wasnt clear: the actual price for the seafood Paella for two was 40 euros per person. However, that wasnt the worst of it, it looked beautiful when it arrived and was served professionally by our waiter. Unfortunately, the dish was over-salted, the rice was half-cooked (crunchyand the seafood was tough and chewy. It was hands down our worst meal in Spain and the most expensive at 140 euros for lunch.Such a shame! The quality of this meal didnt fit such a majestic hotel!
MoreLovely hotel, beautiful building, charming gardens, polite personal, very comfortable beds, this hotel worth every penny. We have some drinks in the terrace bar, pricie but nice and enjoy the morning breakfast buffet once.
MoreAbsolutely stunning hotel, great location just opposite the beach. Was here on a work off site event so didnt try the full range of spa or pool facilities. The beach isnt the best , head to Marbella for a better beach.
MoreWe had an absolutely wonderful five days staying at The Gran Hotel Miramar. The hotel is beautiful. Our room was sizeable, well thought out and equipped. The view from our room and large balcony, looking beyond the pool to the sea, was glorious. The pool area was super. Each member of staff we met, was charming, particularly the Reception staff and Concierges.Malaga is such an exciting city and staying at The Gran Hotel Miramar allows you to have a city break, with all its cultural and gastronomic highlights, whilst also being able to swim, sunbathe and look out at (and swim in )The Mediterranean Sea.Just when can we get back there?
MoreThis is the most upscale hotel in Malaga. It is an attraction in itself. Many celebrities and dignitaries will come here for vacation. Found the price to be ridiculous expensive on the orignal hotel site for 360$ a night when I found a price on Locktrip for only 90$ a night, so do yourself a favor and check the price there before booking and also use this discount code 5GZND .The rooms and the facilities inside and outside the hotel are very good. Short-term accommodation may not be able to experience all the services and facilities. It is best to stay for a few more days and go sunbathing every day, which is very comfortable.
MoreBeautiful hotel, wonderful spa & helpful staff. Stayed here on our honeymoon. The concierge gave great, non-touristy recommendations. Would absolutely recommend purchasing a spa circuit or two with stay. We had massages as well, which were very professional & they sent food, juice & champagne to the room after. Hotel food, although expensive, was great quality when we ordered it. Included breakfast was a nice variety, fresh. Every staff member was very pleasant. We ended up really liking the location being outside city center, but just a short tree-lined 10 min walk when we wanted to tapas-hop or walk around. Would recommend this hotel to others.
MoreMy stay at your hotel was a marvellous experience. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, the hotel building is fantastic and the staff very helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant was excellent.
MoreWe had our wedding ceremony at the Gran Hotel Miramar in June 2022 and it was just a fantastic experience from start to finish, only made possible by the excellent staff, facilities and food.
MoreWe spent the last day of our honeymoon here. We were greeted/treated with the friendliest of service and a welcome drink followed by a bottle of cava and a plate of fruit in our room to celebrate our marriage. We had a lovely time at the pool where we enjoyed some guacamole and hummus. The breakfast certainly shouldn’t be missed as there is an abundance of choices for everyone. The hotel and the landscaping is just too beautiful. Our modest room even had three terraces. The bed was super comfortable and the shower great. The service in every way, perfection! Thank you!!
MoreLovely old school, Mediterranean, grand Hotel. Fantastic staff, beautiful building and interior. Spacious rooms, clean and well appointed. Expensive, but thats no surprise. Theres lots of choices of bars and restaurants nearby though. You get what you pay for. There are some really nice town house style hotels that are very good and probably better value. But you have that old world grandeur here and the sea view. Depends on your taste and your wallet.
MoreHotel is beautiful. However the service was definitely not to par. You could not get a drink at the pool if your life depended on it. I had to look for someone, then request a drink. You would be lucky if you get a drink in a half hour.Upon check out it was not seamless. In fact frustrating. They were not willing to work with you or be accommodating. Our flight was not till later in the afternoon. They would not give us a later check out.We offered to pay extra. Since we had approximately four hours to hang out. They told us we could use the spa as a hospitality area. However, after we checked out and proceeded to the spa , they would not allow us to leave our change of clothes, toiletries , personal items, passport etc. in a locker. We had to take it with us to the pool area, which was very uncomfortable and a nuisance Call all this put a damper on everything.
MoreClothes were stolen from our suitcases during our stay at Miramar and we are very disappointed that the hotel have unfaithful people employed. The Hotel claims that the items were left behind by us. That is not a fact - we checked every inch of the room before we left, we always do. After having contacted the hotel when we got back to Norway a couple of weeks later it was obvious that they knew that the clothes were stolen from our room. How else would they have known what sort of clothes they were.? And if , as they say , they had been left behind, why had they not informed us about this? The clothes ,two good t-shirts and a pair of ladys trousers were finally sent to us from the hotel. Now we are being charged with customs fees for having bought the T-shirts from the hotel!!
MoreBeautiful hotel. Great service. Large rooms. Nice pool. Fabulous location. Easy to walk to stores and restaurants. Across the street from the beach. Only complaint was the internet which was not great. Dropped here and there and not strong which is surprising these days. Otherwise 5 star hotel with friendly accompdating staff who made the experience wonderful.
More🇨🇦 review here. What can I say but WOW. What an incredible place to stay. Front desk and porters were great to deal with. So welcoming and gracious. I booked my stay via Airmiles so that’s probably why I didn’t get a view, however, it was so so beautiful. The bed, the bathroom, the marble floors and the lighting were all an incredible feast for the eyes. The bed was so comfortable. The turndown service was great. I had the Lobster Brioche sandwich at the pool bar and then the breakfast buffet in the morning which were both great. Service at lunch was fantastic but the breakfast service was typically blasé. As I have learned in my travels around Spain, the servers do not look around as they pass through. Waving anyone down required effort. Coffee took a long time to arrive and I was already halfway through my breakfast. The coffee and orange juice were fantastic. All the pasties were super fresh. I didn’t know you could order fried eggs so I had the scramble which were nice, not dried out, and they had an amazing selection of fresh fruit. The salad bar was open for breakfast with lots of option. I will add a video in the videos section. A special thank you to the very tall man with the blue eyes at the front door who helped me a few times. Thank you all for the lovely stay. I hope to come back again one day. ♥️
MoreGreat hotel with a nice pool and hood location in Malaga. What makes this special is stuff and especially the concierge team. More than once they were able to get us into restaurants that were fully booked and into the Alegria show. We were always allocated the best table too because the booking was made by Miramar. Awesome stuff!
MoreThis is the only 5 stars hotel in Malaga for me. (And i have test the others 5 stars i MalagaThis service is in topclass the room perfekt and the food magnific!!!I have one simple Wish and that is i can bring my small kind chihuahua! This hotel is not dog friendly. But the hotel is perfekt!
MoreWe had a wonderful stay! Everything was so beautiful, including the walls, the bathrooms and all the fresh flowers in the lobby.Have not stayed at a 5-star hotel before, but wow, what a great staff and service!Great location too. Only a beautiful 15 min walk along the beach or on through the tropical gardens that go all the way to the very city center. I enjoy staying in a more quiet area than in the middle of the city center, so this was great in that sense!
MoreI live here in Spain and my mom lives in the USA this was my first time seeing her in almost three years and we decided to stay here. We absolutely loved it. The service was speedy and the staff was very friendly. The room was very clean, a good size and beautiful. This hotel made everything about our stay in Malaga easy and convenient. The location was absolutely fantastic. It is very close to the beach and close to the city center. We went to the spa which was very relaxing. It could not have been better.
MoreVisited in January. On arrival all good and very impressed with the overall look.Stayed 3 nights and was increasingly frustrated with communication with staff. Always extremely prompt response but lacking . Paper cups in a 5 star Hotel room? Hotel bar not open at 11.00pm at night? Surly evening staff. Looks amazing, room beautifully kept, service poor.
MoreWe enjoyed our stay at these wonderful place with a morocain touch. From our room we had a great view to the sea and pool area. The dinner at the mediteranian restaurant was delicious. The athmosphere is pleasent and the service is great. From the bar on the top of the hotel you have a great view.
MoreOne of the best hotels ever stayed. Superb service from all employees incl housekeeping. Our room was a suite decorated in Moorish style with a separate living and sleeping areas. Bathroom is luxurious with bathtub and shower.Really enjoyed recommended for others
MoreFrom the time we arrived on the property, things were amazing! The staff was attentive to our needs and the welcome drink that was provided was a nice start to our vacation! The room was the nicest that I have stayed in with beautiful decor! One of my favorite parts had to be the breakfast buffet!! Top of the line! The food was incredible and had something for everyone despite any dietary needs.I cant say enough about how great this experience was. I hope to visit again soon in the near future!
MoreVery disappointing experience - overpriced for what it is and rude front deck managerWas expecting a great stay but had a very disappointing experience. There is no sound proof in the room. We can literally hear everything in the room next door - the TV sound, some one having a shower, closing the wardrobe etc. etc. When we mentioned this at check out, the manager was very rude. Instead of acknowledging it and apologising, he said it was our problem that we didnt tell them earlier. We only stayed for two nights! What could we have done differently? The building is old and the facilities are basic given they claim to be a luxury five-start hotel. Food choice are very limited and overpriced. Terrace is not open in late March. The pool area is very muddy and dirty.Overall a very over-priced hotel for what it actually is. Wouldnt recommend to anyone.
MoreGreat hotel! Just the rooftop bar.. can be improved.. (venue and views are great but service level / drink options are quite underwhelming). All other staffs at the front desk and the poolside cafe were very professional..!
MoreNow stayed here 3 times and will be staying again now I have found the quick route to the airport.Great staff, comfortable rooms and a lovely spa. When having to check out early a breakfast bag was delivered to the room with a lovely range of fruits, yogurts and pastries.
MoreVery nice building on a beach front, good breakfast, high quality toiletries, nice rooms, friendly staff. They revoke your internet access as soon as you check out so if you need it for a conference you have to ask for a pin. The waiters at breakfast are taking your plate before you even finish your last bite. The taxi was late (not hotel’s faultso make sure that you order it earlier than you need it.
MoreExcellent stay. Very clean and well maintained hotel.Staff were friendly and we had a very pleasant stay for a family with young kids.Only blemish was the airport pickup where we had to wait at the airport for 30 minutes event though the airport pickup was already pre arranged prior to our trip.
MoreOne of the best hotels ever stayed. Superb service from all employees incl housekeeping. Our room was a suite decorated in Moorish style with a separate living and sleeping areas. Bathroom is luxurious with bathtub and shower. Marble all over with digital clock inside the mirror. Bvalgari amenities.Lobby area is fantastic where you cam have a drink. Gardens and pool area are awesomeSit in the patio overlooking the Mediterranean with a glass of beverage.Would highly recommend this hotel. Well done!
MoreBeautiful building with even beautiful garden in front and nice terraces and pool area in back. Staff is very service oriented and very friendly.Good breakfast and lunch options. Plenty of space to have business meetings as well as to relax. The rooms are good and comfy but a bit on the small side.Recommended for both business and pleasure.
MoreCleanliness is impeccable. Very generous buffet breakfast. Both the front desk and the concierge are truly helpful. The rest of the hotel staff are warm and friendly, despite not speaking much English, which is perfectly understandable. The hotel itself is a spectacle, the facade impressive, and the view of the Mediterranean unparalleled. Its a shame that the pool is closed in winter. Havent got a chance to use the SPA facilities. Will definitely come back.
