Beautiful rooms and grounds. Got to my hotel room late at night to pull sheets down and see ants everywhere (and a cockroach). Front desk was very fast and helpful in moving me to the Grand suite in the Hoyt house since it was the only room left. Then, I woke up to a spider hanging from the ceiling right over my bed. Good customer service but will not return unless bug issue fixed.

The best thing about The Graduate is their marketing. Their online presentation is far more spectacular than the actual hotel. First the positives: The hotel staff was very friendly, the hotel felt safe, the rooms were clean and the decorations had a good vibe. The beds were super comfortable. The negatives: I found locating the lobby confusing. It’s the long brick building when you enter the parking lot. Like many other reviewers have complained, the rooms are very musty. You do become nose blind quickly but could be an issue for people with allergies. The hotel advertises itself as hip but other than the room decor there is nothing of real interest at the hotel itself. The worst part is it feels like a money trap. You must pay $10 additional for parking, if you use their internet it crawls unless you pay an additional fee. The bottled waters in your room will cost you $5 per bottle. Breakfast is cheaper at any of the restaurants within walking distance.

We arrived on Friday for our Anniversary weekend to escape the busy weekend in Cashiers. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a smile from Asia, who checked us in promptly and thoughtfully. When we arrived at our suite, Tyler had left us a sweet note with Champagne and fruit. We checked out bicycles and toured the streets of Athens. Throughout our stay, Calla helped us with navigating the time and places we wanted to experience. The difference between some hotels and The Graduate Hotel family is a distinct memory of curated decor that speaks to the areas culture and the people who make you feel so special. A unique “Thank You” to Shelita for making our stay super memorable. Thank you, everyone, for making our visit to Athens a memory we will never forget.

The staff here was vey kind and helpful. However, our stay was far from great. My wife and I checked in late at night, around 11 PM or so. Upon walking into our room, we immediately noticed that it was HOT, despite the air conditioning being on the highest and coldest setting. We thought "perhaps the staff turned the AC on just before we checked in" and since we were very tired, we decided to tough it out in hopes that the room would cool down while we slept. It did not. The sweltering heat kept us tossing and turning all night. The decor was very cool, but as many others have commented, it is not enough to turn this old one or two-star motel into a four-star hotel. Fortunately, we booked our room using the Summer on Sale promotion, so we are not out much money. I would absolutely not pay the list price for a stay at this location. This was our first and likely last stay at a Graduate. I had always heard rave reviews about their hotels, but after this experience, I cannot say we are willing to take a chance on any of their other locations during our travels.

Been staying here since it was the Foundry Park Inn. Calla Davis always takes care of me. Room is very comfortable and clean. My core evaluation is the shower, and it was excellent. Only suggestion is the mattress is too soft for my taste and parking is always an issue. Not sure how they can fix it due to space issues, but it is always a challenge.

We don’t usually write reviews but felt implored to.The Graduate has a retro design and lovely staff. As marketed by the website, we thought this was a ‘boutique hotel’ however were really disappointed. The rooms smell musty and old. Upon arrival, we found someone else’s dirty underwear on the floor. We asked to move to a new room. Our second room didn’t have a tv remote. The plugs next to the bed don’t work for a regular phone charger. We turned the air conditioning unit on, which maybe hadn’t been used in awhile. Because it was so dusty, it set off the smoke detector. There were no cups for water offered in the rooms, only $5 bottles of water. Was happy to spend the money on what we thought would be a boutique hotel experience, however this felt more like a cheap roadside motel with some cute decor.

Phenomenal time staying at the Graduate. The room was so quirky and cute. There was so much Athenian personality packed into one room, from the plaid to the bulldog lamp. Everything was clean and updated. Nothing grimy here. The bathroom was beautiful, with a gorgeous walk-in shower. The bed was comfortable with clean sheets.No- check out was a breeze - just leave the keys in the rooms. It was an absolutely fantastic stay and Ill highly recommend it to anyone.
