Govinda's Restaurant - Vegetarian restaurant in Dublin, Ireland
I was excited to try this place as itd been highly reviewed. I enjoyed the flavors, but unfortunately, it was the inconsistency of service in which soured my experience.I ordered a small plate, and the guy behind the counter helping me was rationing the portions. When he scooped too much of the lasagna-like dish, he had unscooped and began to half it. Its a flat plate and what I was served was just enough to cover the plate.A man behind me in line also ordered a small plate, but received almost double my portion, piled high, and paid the same amount.I had an injury at the time of dining here, and was clearly limping my way around. When I made my way to one end of the counter to ask for the Wi-Fi, the same guy who had served me, pointed me to go to the opposite end by the cash register to read the Wi-Fi password from a piece of paper. I asked if he could just enter it into my phone or read it to me so I donthave to limp over to the other end. He continued to point me to go across to the other end. Rating this place 2 stars because of the lack of good service, I would not repeat another visit.
Love this place. Great vegetarian food and decent portions. Plus you get to chat to the super friendly Hare Krishna.
If you want a really good veggie meal try this place. Atmosphere says: "youre here for the food". And we were. Great value for money too.
Best place. Food is too good and so is the staff. For people missing temple or home ( India this place and food gives peace. Hare Krishna ⭐️❤️
This place is amazing! It’s a sort of buffet where you can find vegetarian and vegan options. The staff was really nice, food was DELICIOUS!For the Dublin’s standard I found it cheap it as well. The whole plate was around 10€, water comes for free.
Good and affordable food. But their opening hours need to be updated. They are never open at noon, in my experience. They tend to open a half hour later than advertised for lunch.
Its a veggie paradise .. being part of the ISKON and serving people for long for quite a long time . This restaurant in dublin is a finest and delicious food served . A perfect indian good to taste with good flavour full food and not spicy too for any ethinicty who have taste buds. Just close to the GPO station is the good thing about this restaurant ..#ISKON #RadheRadhe #Krishna #Veggie #Vegetarian #Dublin #GPO #Spire #Food
One of the best Govindas Ive ever visited, and unlike some Govindas this one is super vegan-friendly. €12.95 gets you an enormous plate of food that filled me up the entire day. There are also options for salads, drinks, desserts, and a cheaper, smaller plate. Plus, if you really want to save money theyve got a very low-cost soup and bread offering that is probably the cheapest vegan restaurant food deal in the city.
Best food in town, the stuff is very helpful and the food simply delicious
Its a peaceful place to have lunch. And the music is quite religious and calming. I would be happy to visit this place anyday to have filling Indian food.
The restaurant is located right beside the iskcon temple. Its best place for a complete vegetarian food since there is no non veg served here. The veg food options are plenty and the price is tad over economy. Overall a must try for vegetarian.
One of the best vegetarian/vegan places to eat in town! The food is absolutely delishes, no matter what you choose. The have a buffet type of selection you choose from and the portion are very generous and filling.Even the small plate has plenty of food that will keep you fueled up for hours either for work or for a sightseeing trip.
Food is not that great. Food is not spicy and also they dont have roti/ naan. Quality of rice is good but i was expecting indian basmati rice. The rice was not that delicious. Good place for vegetarian food. They should add naan/ roti and indian basmati rice.
A weekly favourite. Food is always so tasty and you get a lot for your money. The place looks great since its recent makeover.
Great vegetarian food , affordable pricingbl and lovely atmosphere. Definitely recommend it
Main indiam veg items are missing. Food isnt tasty as we expected. There can be a little more variety. the cheese potato were awful. Paneer was not well cooked - it was hard and chewy
Great experience good value and vegan too
It was near to the main bus stops and easy to found. We choose the buffet tali and there was no wait time. The food was tasty (mainly the dal we felt awesome, other items too tasted greatand we felt it worth for the money.
Very tasty food, very good place.
Best vegetarian and vegan food of Dublin. Staff are really nice and helpful. Very well seasoned, right temperature and amazingly tasty every time. I usually go to the place itself or order from deliveroo, so I have tasted all the options they have, so I can tell confidently that my favourite dishes are tofu and fried cabbage with spices and vegetables. In addition they have 2 sizes of tray, both of them are generously served. Really, a great value for money.Totally recommend!
Best value meal in Dublin for a tasty healthy vegan/veggie meal. 9.95 for a "small" plate which is still really generous. Delicious everytime.
Always and great meal. With the big portions they serve, you will never leave hungry. The staff are always so Polite. Vegan & Vegetarian
Terrible food!! I love Indian food but this made me feel so bad about what they did to one of the best culinary of the world. They have to improve more and more to be close to “ok”.
Had the most delicious, nutritious vegan Indian food here and such generous portions! The samosas are amazing too. Highly recommend
Amazing vegan food!! Their "small plate" was a hugely generous serving! Wholesome, warm food!
Really good vegetarian Indian food, trust me you wouldnt be disappointed. I will definitely recommend and visit again in the future.
Very affordable and healthy vegetarian/vegan food available here. Small plate: 8.95€ , big plate: 11.95€ . Vegan cakes as also very delicious. Really nice Indian atmosphere. Plenty of sitting space, doesnt feel cramped. Tea, decaf coffee, cakes, small/large salads. Definitely recommend checking it out.
Great vegan food, large plate for 11.95€ and it is really a lot of food if you can’t eat that much go for a small one at 8.95€. You can also take away.
So good. Extremely reasonable prices and great atmosphere. A definite must.
Being an Indian and vegetarian had lovely food after long in the religious background. Such activities needs serious encouragement by Indians and the Indian Govt. A NATIONAL BODY to encourage such religious bodies be created by the Govt. or acquire agriculture land through treaty to produce all material.
I love this place, I am not a vegetarian, I eat lots of meat, but I go out of my way to eat here as the food is just that good. The plate sizes are huge and all the options are so good. Have recommended and do recommend to everyone. A gem of a place
Excellent vegetarian food and great value for money.Would be great if they have pickle with the food.
Delicious! The small plate is very generous. Visiting from Boston and this was superb. I would definitely come back. Flavorful and filling. And I love their mission of treating cows & the environment kindly.
Amazing tasteful vegan food. Two sizes of dishes: small and large. The portions are incredible. I love eating and was really full with the large one. Reasonable prices and delicious desserts. The staff were really friendly.
Never had a bad experience there! Very affordable vegetarian food served by very nice people. The food is simply fantastic! You wont miss meat in your meal I promise!
If you want to have a quick tasty and filling meal, this place is for you. If youre a Indian youll love this place as it gives nice homely feel. The ambience is clean and tidy. Location is very accessible. And most importantly the food is tasty and comes at a very pocket friendly price. A perfect place for vegans and vegetarians to dine out.
Absolutely unreal. The food was delicious and the portions were extremely generous. An oasis of calm amidst the madness of central Dublin.
A must go in Dublin.Peaceful atmosphere.I visited the temple upstairs. So, you get food and food for soul as well.Beautiful!!!
OMG! Food super tasty and vegan! They also have vegetarian options. Ate a large platter with rice, tofu, veggies and potato casserole. Only 11.95 eu. They also offer tea, coffee and cakes. If you are vegan, dont miss it.There are a few tables to seat outside, bathroom super clean.
A good place for quality Vegetarian and Vegan food. Quite a few nice options to choose from. Adequate portion quantity even if we opt for a small plate. Staffs are courteous and the place is neatly maintained.
Govindas offers a lot of great choices for vegetarians and vegans at an affordable price. The servings are big, even if you opt for the size small plate, and you can pick and mix dishes into one whole serving. Highly recommend their samosas!
This is part of iskcon temple in Dublin city center. Here you can get the vaishno food (without onion and garlicat good price. Chanting in this temple makes you feel calm and happy. The devotee of Krishna will surely feel happiness over there
Simply wonderful. A tasty selection of a variety of vegetarian/vegan dishes over a plate for a fair price. The staff was super nice and the atmosphere was cosy and friendly. I would love to repeat the experience!
It can be surprisingly hard to get good vegetarian food in Dublin. One night I was walked about for 30 minutes trying to find something other than the usual bland vegetarian option and I found Govindas.Ive seen Govindas restaurants in London and this is very similar. The food here is great, the portions generous and all very reasonably priced. Theres three size options S, M or L. Even the small was just about as much as I can manage. Thats for €7.50!The service is really friendly as well. One thing to keep on mind is that they sometimes run out of food. One night I didnt come till about 7pm and left disappointed because there wasnt enough to make up a plate.
Always friendly, always plenty. Vegan and vegetarian options, this is the "small plate". Full of tofu, potatoes, brown rice, and many delicious vegetables. The best experience for "comfort food" in my opinion. Very highly recommended!
If you want to try out vegterian Indian food (without much spicy addedthen Govindas is the must vist Restaurant in Dublin...Waiting time around 5-10 min. Ambiance is very nice, with krishna chanting in the back ground... Place is very peaceful, friendly staff, good, hot and healthy food. Order small meal, but its more than enough for one person, served with white rice, panner masala or tofu, mix Vegetables fry, white kidney bean masala, chesse Mangobean ( not sure about the name). Overall very nice food.
Very very reasonable prices for simple but tasty vegetarian and vegan food. Pictured is the small portion (6.50€ I believebut it was already too much for just me! The place itself is quite plain, but who cares when the food is good.
Delicious and tasty. Vegan and vegetarian. Even the small portion is a large one and cost only 6.5 euro. Medium plate portion is humongous, can feed 2 persons and cost only 9 euro. Highly recommended this place. I eat there regularly and they always surprise me with the mixture of spices and really good food taste.
Great vegetarian and vegan food. You can choose any combination of the daily offers and the price is fixed. Bear in mind that the small plate which costs around 6 euros is really well served!
Ate here today for first time, my (omnihusband and I (veganboth loved it. I had the small plate and my husband had medium and it was an epic feast. The staff were v friendly and helpful, food very well priced for the portion sizes. We will happily go back here again.
