Simple Hare Krishna-run venue for a menu of European and Indian-influenced mains and puddings.
im a foodie, and been with Indian for 16 years, and cooked indian food too, I have a thing for indian spices and food. but this joint serves super bad indian food.
LOVE LOVE LOVE! Food is super affordable, tastes homemade, is well seasoned, and they even have a student discount. The staff are beyond friendly! Dont go in expecting something fancy, but know that it will be good!
Best vegan food in town, suited for everyone. Recommended to visit once in a while before you become regular
Surprised to see the basic Indian food been gobbled by the locals. But then Indian food is perhaps the only food that is cooked and tickles your taste buds as it has basic condiments and served hot...way to go
Have to say I like the food but Abbey Street has more of a selection plus Aungier Street is never opened on time. As an option to becoming avegan or vegetarian it does not have a fantastic selection to entice one in
I would just say Govinda... Hare Krishna Hare Rama... you can’t complete a full plate... that’s delicious and pure ghee cooked with no meat no egg no onion no garlic... freshly made every morning...
I love the food here. This style of cooking is supposed to be part of a religious offering so its prepared early in the morning and its not supposed to be reheated so they keep it warm on a chafing dish (cafeteria style). Also the restaurant is generally very humid and the tables can use a wipe clean. Overall would recommend for those who like vegetarian and vegan food.
Great vegetarian food small choice so check the menu out 1st. Although everything is lovely and some spicy. Staff are more then ready to help and advise you
A small unassuming restaurant with friendly atmosphere. For a small amount, we each got a large plate of vegetarian food with a sample of all that they had on offer for the day.
This place used to be much better. Prices are still good and is a cheap option for a quick bite on a budget.Food is fairly bland and wouldnt bring anyone here to show them the highlights of vegetarian food.Hygiene is lacking throughout.
The best Indian inspired restaurant/dishes I have ever tasted.
This is a great place and a beloved spot for all those who visit it. The food is vegetarian, perhaps vegan but Im not too sure. Its cheap. Its fresh. Its plentiful. A small plate is all you will need. Fool yourself buying the big plate. Youre not finishing it! Get a bit of everything as is the standard offered by the server, youll find some new things you love and perhaps a little you dont love. Either way youll be happy and full!
Lovely people serving great food. Great atmosphere and decent value for money. All around highly recommended.
I love eating at govindas, always great vegan and vegetarian foods and very affordable. Loses 1 star for cleanliness, tables and toilets need more care for better customer experience.
Really good honest well priced food. The only negative is sometimes towards the end of the day certain menu items sell out. I would strongly recommend this place.
The best and healthy Indian veg dish. Its the style of food completely related to the isckon community. The food costs is less and if your in more hurry to have a short grab of good food its worth it.
I love this place .Very friendly staff .The food is excellent. A very relaxing atmosphere to the place. Great value for money which in this part of the city is hard find ..10/10☺☺☺☺
Delicious all vegetarian food, with a small plate filling even the largest stomachs. Very good value for money and a tasty selection of side dishes that satisfy all palates when piled together, I will be sure to come back !
Delicious food served with a hearty bit of good karma and peace. The staff are super friendly and make everyone feel at home. Thanks for a delicious mean.
Good Indian food at a great price with large portions. The man working there was very nice. I wish the food was a bit hotter, but it was still delicious.
Very nice staff friendly staff and unbelievable reliable food. Great taste and great portions. A small plate will fill you. This place really tickles my toenails when I think about it
It has the most beautiful food ever. Its all vegetarian and the staff are fantastic. Its a great place to tickle your tastebuds.
This place is everything I like about a great vegan restaurant: It has the flare, delicious food, a reasonable price and friendly people.Simply worth droping by.
Very good vegetarian options available here. Taste is avg to good, staff is nice. Setting is pretty laid back and relaxed, however considering the fact that it is moderately priced restaurant so its ok.Btw I would recommend to take small plate for one person as their portion is big. And two people can be full with a big plate if you are taking a drink along with it too.Guys try their mango lassi
Spectacular food. A humble little shop selling delicious wholesome vegetarian food. Kind friendly staff. Very generous with portions. Very affordable 10/10 would recommend. Lacks a modern aesthetic which actually adds a humble charm to it.
Very costly foodAlso taste was not that great. It was just ok. One must not think to visit here if you have some other option. Cleanliness is good. People are helping and cheerful. Good for vegetarian people but look for some other options for vegetarian too as the food is not that great value for money
A great place for lunch. The small plate (€7.75is a very generous portion and comes with a small salad. Opens at 12 but advise waiting until half when most of the foods should be out
simple delicious vegetarian food.fiods great.place is a bit dull since dark and the lamps could use a proper cleaning.they will move in three months a staff member said...
Great for a quick healthy lunch. We got a medium plate but a small one would have been enough as they are very generous with their portions. Very reasonably priced - would defiantly go here again. We are both vegan so tried a bit of everything apart from the paneer. Yummy.
The way food was served is definitely not the Indian way. There is an order of what to eat with what, but here every dish was served in the same plate one on top of other making an unsavoury mixture. The quantity is good but lacked in taste, presentation and grossly missed the authentic Indian way the food has to be served and eaten.
Good service and very tasty food. Quality price totally worth it. I asked for the small vegan portion and couldnt finish it, its quite filling!
Incredibly yummy food made by very nice people.
Efficient counter service, food never lets you down. Vegetarian and vegan options done to a high standard. Large and smaller options available, leave full or stuffed, centrally situated, short walks to Patricks cathedral and Stephens Green. Friendly staff.
Daily vegetarian menus with two plates sizes and side salad. It was very tasty and healthy, good value too, recommend and will go back.
The delicious aroma that greets you from the door is the best of welcome and a sign of things to come. An everything on a plate menu you only need to pick regular or large. As a not fancy but tasty spot I heartily recommend it .
Sooo good, and inexpensive! I first ate here in 1998, and then had to come back on my second visit to Dublin in 2017. The fresh paneer was as delicious as I remembered!
Best vegetarian and vegan food! Prasada!
Great food at great price but.... it s better with a groupon 😊
Great food at a great price! Absolutely loved the options, got very full up and for half the price I wouldve paid at a pub for the same level of "full-up". I definitely would recommend to anyone. Im not even vegetarian and I loved it all!
Such a lovely dining experience was had recently. Service was so friendly and quick. I had the small plate and it was plenty of food for me. My husband had the medium plate and he was very satisfied. We both agree that €15 for the large plate is quite expensive. However, we would never have this as small and medium is sufficient. We will definitely be back.
Flavourful and very filling vegan meal (the small plate). For 7.50euro
Good price and good food. Large quantity, you can take a large plate for two. The service at the counter is cold and unfriendly but you still get to eat for cheap considering the localization.
First time here. Loved the food. Great value for money and very tasty veggie food. The place itself could do with a clean up. Male toilets were very dirty.
Delicious food, always something new to try. Great value and nice staff.
The food in here is delicious and the staff are friendly too. It could do with a clean up, in terms of decor, but otherwise its a lovely spot and great to grab a quick lunch.
Just ok. Was expecting a lot from the typical Govindas restaurant, but it didnt live upto the name. The food is barely Indian, esp with no naan or rotis, too much westernised Indian food. But big bang for money, the quantity is very filling.
Great food at a reasonable price. I always ask for a small plate of everything. Staff are friendly, I am deducting one point as the toilets could do with an overhaul.
Great portions and very friendly staff. Cheap veggie food. If youre on a budget this is a great place to go.
So peaceful environment.. So delicious vegetarian food with so purity I cudnt find anywhere else. Bhajans music is enchanting and relaxing . perfect blend of spiritual environment + food + taste + the smile of the people who work there makes the experience so worth :)
Govindas is a great option for vegetarian food. Everything is yummy and the price point makes it ridiculously good value.TipsTry the chickpea fudge its divine!
