Government Museum, Pudukkottai in Kulittalai

Its a great museum with very old artifacts, animals/ birds carcass, historical ornaments, musical instruments, preserved animals and birds etc. They charge a nominal fee for entrance. Half of the place is still under maintenance and not fully open for public. Good place to bring small kids. Well maintained.

Dont expect much..museums some parts are closed..you can spend Max 30 minutes ..thats it.. Artificial dinasour is good👍🏻

Though housed in a small and old building, the collection of ancient sculptures , coins and other antiques is superb. Display is also good, with clear labels. . The staff is friendly and helpful. Anyone interested in heritage art will certainly cherish visiting this collection.

Having a great collection from ancient times and the Dinosaur having robotic movement and sounds are good like a realistic one....having a lot of specimen collection too...and just entry of Rs.5/- ...is more worth able to visit it

Good collection but sculpture gallery is closed for renovation

Excellent place. Too much of collections. Historical collections are so much. Preservation of the animals are so good. Dinosaur show is nice. Kids will enjoy. Located in the mainroad. All the parents should take their kids once.

Its one of very oldest museum in Tamil Nadu. 2nd largest museum in Tamil Nadu. Its very close to bus stop. When you are travel from Trichy to Pudukkottai, get down at Museum stop. Approx 200 steps from bus stop. lot of traditional Hindu cultural evidence can see here. Now its under renovation. May be get ready soon. I recommended all to visit once to this place.

One of the must visit museum in South india its located near to busstop so its easy to find. I dont know why the museum changed fully when i visited 5 years ago it was quite big and lot of sections was there but its totally changed.

It have lot of information in a old building. Currently a Renovation work is processing.. So some fewer things are in show. Specifically a T-rex model is awesome 👌. Check the Time when t-rex dianousirous model in action.. I hope it give a very good knowledge about pudhukottai district.

Nice to see some of the rare ancient tamil ornaments and war equipments. Dinosaur is the most crazy thing in here. It is simply awesome

Every friday holiday and second saturday holiday for month.great and good work. Near to thirkogaranam stop. Easy to reach by walk from there. Bus facility always available.

119 years old museum lies neglected without adequate gallery.The second-largest in State next only to the Chennai Egmore museum.Started at Thirugokarnam in Pudukottai by the erstwhile Thondaiman rulers of the Pudukottai Samasthanam in 1910, the museum was handed over to the government after the merger of the samasthanam with the union in 1948.

Nicely maintained and well arranged place. Staffs are very responsive to our queries. Contains a large dinosaur with sound effects which is operated periodically. Contains a large variety of things such as sea animals, arts, statues, mineral samples, birds, animals etc. One of the well maintained government museum in Tamil Nadu.

The museum is in Thirukogarnam nearly 2 Kms from Pudukkottai. We could see the swords, paintings, handicrafts of metal, stone, ancient weapons, sculptures , the Skeleton of animals birds, snakes, clothes, wooden carvings, and a big dinosaur. It crawling and sounds every hour. Some children may get afraid of the sound. The museum kept opened from 9.30am to 5pm everyday except on Fridays, Independence day, Republic day and Gandhi jayanti.
