I’ve been here a few times and I’ve had such amazing experiences every single time. They’ve done some renovations since I’ve last been and it’s so much roomier and the service is unmatched.

I went to Gourmage for a wine night hosted by a Facebook friends group and it was such a good experience. The staff handled the large group of women wonderfully. They were friendly and helpful and there was hardly any wait even with all the people. I would definitely recommend for a girls night or I heard they also have classes that would be fun to try

We took a mozzarella making class here and enjoyed every minute of it! The instruction was thorough and easy to follow, and the finished product was delicious fresh mozzarella to take home. They have a wonderful selection of out-of-the-ordinary cheeses that will definitely elevate your palate. Charming atmosphere, good wine, and great gift items make Gourmage a New Braunfels gem.

Good food, friendly service. Variety of gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches is good --bacon jam w/ Chimay cheese, proscuitto w/ Manchego cheese, rosemary and swiss and others are tasty and unique. A bit skimpy on the cheese, but good.UPDATE 2/12/21: Just picked up a lovely Valentines Happy Hour charcuterie box plus prosecco. Everything is delicious and the presentation is great. Thank you, Gourmage! Ill be ordering this again!

Gormage Is an ABSOLUTE delight!! Proprietor, Stephanie Richardson, is a consummate host making sure that all the details have been attended.I joined a mozzarella making class at Gormage that was not only a BLAST but the best mozzarella I have ever had. Highly recommend it.Although operating with a skeletal staff and shortened hours, Stephanie continues to deliver stellar, consistent boxes and platters that truly brighten the day of anyone, especially in this bizarre time.Keep up the good work! Your pride shows everyday in every way!!

Gourmage is a wonderful asset of New Braunfels! They have great cheese, wine, charcuterie, chocolates and many other products. Great knowledgeable and personalized service too! Love visiting for happy hour or a snack and always leave with something extra from the shop. Can’t wait to go back.

This Saturday evening we were walking downtown of New Braunfels. We had just gotten a recommendation from a mom and her two boys to walk in to this shop and have a taste of their cheese. My sister in law, myself, and my nephew walked in to look at their cheese display. We were never greeted by the only woman working in the store. We were the only customers in the store. I asked her if she minded if we had a sample of the cheese that was recommended. She said in a disturbed voice "Yeah, just a couple". There were 3 of us and she gave us a small cut for us three to share.I was in there to buy something because we were waiting to be called for our dinner. Our wait was averaged to be 45 minutes. I even bought a packet of sliced salami on the counter top display. When I asked her if she would be able to cut some small pieces off the 1/4 "moon" of cheese I bought, she was a little bothered and said that this shop didnt cut cheese for anyone which was rather odd considering your store had a cheese board with grapes and other foods special on the board. Once the cheese is bought by your other clients how do they end up cutting the cheese? Because even though we are in Texas, not everyone carries a knife. I just wanted you to be aware that sometimes depending on your race there is still racism that exists. Perhaps you should keep a sign posted on the door that Hispanics arent welcomed in your store. Rather than allowing them to walk in and feel insulted or belittled in such a way. I spent $11 on cheese and salami. I was going in there as a buying customer, but was treated as if I was in there to get something for free. Although, your cheese selection was good, I will not go back there because of the poor customer service that was given to my family and myself. I would rather google where else they have this "moon" cheese from Holland or the 7 Cheddar Cheese from England. Thank you but no THank you.

I requested a custom Christmas basket for family in the area. Stephanie, the owner was amazing. The price, service and overall experience was excellent. I highly recommend The Gourmage to anyone.

Excellent cheese and wine at a good price.

I went to Gourmage two weeks ago & was so excited to find this shop & to come back. However, after my experience yesterday, I will never do so. The shop itself is very cute, with a small selection of wines, cheeses & chocolates & should be very inviting. The sales clerk who worked the 7/7/18 evening shift, was extremely unwelcoming, stand-offish & disinterested. This lady had no interest in explaining the products even after we asked questions, her answers were short one word answers. My husband and I both felt this way & couldnt wait to get out of the store. It is very disappointing as I said before, I was so excited to go back. However, this one experience alone will prevent me from returning.

I was at this wonderful little shop for a class on how to make mozzarella cheese. The lady teaching it was so nice and helpful. I never thought that I could make mozzarella cheese at home. They even have what you need there to start your cheese making. They sell wonderful wines cheese and chocolates

Went here during some festival. My wife ran in for a piece of cheesecake. The strawberry on top had mold on it, and the cheesecake itself wasnt spectacular, it was on par with a frozen Sara Lee cake, maybe a little worse.

Delicious soups, salads, and sandwiches, great service! One of my favorite lunch spots.

Nice little place but with many fewer cheeses than they claim on their website. Very helpful but if looking for something in particular call ahead to avoid disappointment.

Very good quality, excellent service

We visited this cafe on a whim a couple of years ago and were delighted by the impressive variety and quantity of cheeses, the fresh bread baguettes in evidence, the small selection of soups/sandwiches for lunch and a chalk board of suggested wine offerings. The place had a certain liveliness to it that was enhanced by no small degree from the " Master affineur " present. He was able to expertly aid in our cheese sampling and selection and provide knowledge of wines to pair with our selected fromage.This visit, the Joie de vivre seemed to be gone from the place and so was the wide selection of cheeses with only one case half full of a limited selection. This disappointment and the less than comfortable temp. inside the place encouraged our feet to motor towards the door in spite of the "be with you in a minute" greeting we had from two women who were conducting a wine tasting for a solitary individual.The soup, sandwiches and wine may still draw customers, but with the less than impressive cheese inventory, the thrill is now gone for us. So we left, cheeseless in New Braunfels.
