Wild national park with hot springs & the River Tuul, plus a small developed area for tourists.
Beautiful place and you should enjoy horse riding here. A nice place for tourists to make a day out
I came during autumn when the trees are shedding yellow and casting beautiful shades of life beside the running Tuul river. There are resorts which offer stays in Ger or normal hotel rooms, serving stone-cooked lamb meat… a great getaway with friends or family during the weekend or for a party!
To do on horseback 🐎 and you will discover the best
Traveled allover Mongolia and I forgot how beautiful Terelj is
Great to return after 28 years. So many nice tourist camps. So many tourist ghers. Amazing development.
good hiking, trekking & geocaching place. since 2010, in this area placed many geocache and this place become favourity route for geocachers.
Very beautiful nature you can enjoy. It is only one to two hours away from the city, so you can visit it for the day. But i recommend you to visit by staying there for few days. Many fun activities and beautiful mountains to hike.
Stunning veiw. All those rock formations and the nature can be so beautiful. Go to sky land resort if you want to spend the night watching stars. Close to the capital city Ulaanbaatar, 30 min drive to the Terelj bridge.
Magnificent views from the monastery entering to the National Park, really good option for a day excursion from U.B. Though the best recommendation is staying in the area over night in a hotel or yurt camping and getting the full charm of the place.
Absolutely amazing place with such stuning landscapes-green mountains and endless steppes. Pure nature with wild horses around. Rare place where it is possible to find real silence and real darkness without light pollution. There are almost no normal roads, so there is a need of very good car drive skills. Mongolia nature is totally profound, defenitely recommend to explore it.
Very scenicNice views of natural beauty. Rocks / mountain sides are in shapes of giant tortoise and praying monk. Ghengus Khan staue . You can rent dogsled team go horseback and camel riding. Hold golden eagles . Snowmobile and 4 wheel ATV rentals are also available.
Beautiful park! Huge turtle rock, but the main attraction is that there are many wild horses roaming in the area. Especially so if you go beyond the vicinity of ulaanbaatar
Leisurely great place to spend a day or few :)
Fanstastic trekking routes and interesting souvenir shops. Roads are bumpy and dusty but it was definitely worth it!
A great natural park where nature shines. It is a wonderful place where to appreciate peacefully all the magnificent scenery.
The park is beautiful but feels overrun with tourists at time. Our guide was fantastic
Very Vey Beautiful scenary .Good facilities, good food and lots of activities.
Lovely and very natural place
Very nice moments in my life. I bought the tour ticket from Ulaanbartar and you can visit this place in 2 Hr from UBT. In Ger, you will got feeling warmer from iron stove. Riding the high by horse. See the turtle rock. And pray at the Ariyabal temple. Especially in the night, you can get billion star with mountain background.
Such a beautiful place. Love the rugged rock and green trees around. Enjoyed seeing yaks, turtle rock and the Temple. Lovely day 🎍
Goooooood so many places to visit and enjoy
Have always wanted to come to Mongolia. Vast open steppes. Nomadic herdsmen and yaks. Well I got all that in 1 day. Breathtaking. I found the experience very moving.
Great Park, fresh air and beautiful nature plus wildlife!
Picturesque scenery ranging from temples to Turtle Rock
Beautiful nature, there are many good comfy cool places to stay or camping, you can get lost from reality for a while when you are here
The closest national park with capital UB and is for who visits a short period of time in Mongolia.
Good place for family and friends outing especially in summer. But winter and autumn is nice too.
BEAUTIFUL NATURE-FRESH AIR-
Lovely experience! A must visit if you’re in UlaanBatar.
The most beautiful nature in central mongolia.
Lovely place. Must see. Stay in a Ger for the week and enjoy the surroundings. Winter months can be terribly cold
Very beautiful and all natural
Gorkhi-Terelj National Park (Mongolian: Горхи-Тэрэлж [ɡɔrxi tɛrɛɮʃ], creek-rhododendronis one of the national parks of Mongolia. The Terelj tourist zone has a number of "tourist camps" (Mongolian: жуулчны бааз, juulchny baaz). It is connected with Ulaanbaatar by a paved road (main road to the East #A0501 Baganuur-Öndörkhaandirection, 37 km from Ulaanbaatar city center, left turn to the branch #A24, 5 km later road crosses Tuul River and the National park territory begins). The road comes to the Gorkhiin Davaa (Mongolian: Горхийн давааpass. Most of the tourist camps and tourist attractions are before this pass. The road then ends at the settlement of Terelj, which features small shops and restaurants. The Terelj settlement is located in the valley of the Terelj River (Terelj Gol), approximately 66 km from the Ulaanbaatar city center. The national park tourist zone is formally in Nalaikh düüreg(districtpart of Ulaanbaatar municipality, the rest of the protected zone beginning to the north of the Terelj River, is located in Mongolias Töv Province (Töv aimag).A small southern portion of the park is developed for tourists, with restaurants, souvenir shops, horses and camels for rent, and tourist ger camps, many of them run by the Juulchin corporation, the former state tourism company. However, most of the park is undeveloped and difficult to access. Attractions include Khagiin Khar Lake, a 20m deep glacial lake 80 km upstream from the tourist camps, and Yestii Hot Water Springs, natural hot springs 18 km further upstream. The park also has a Buddhist monastery that is open to visitors. Park wildlife includes brown bears and over 250 species of birds. The Tuul River flows through the park. The park has many rock formations for rock climbers, and includes two famous formations named for things they resemble: Turtle Rock (Mongolian: Melkhii Khadand the Old Man Reading a Book (Praying Lama Rock). Many Westerners were introduced to Gorkhi-Terelj National Park when the CBS reality television program The Amazing Race visited the park in the second episode of its tenth season.
You can meet mongolian nomad with beautiful nature
It’s only a short drive from Ulaanbaatar and it is bloody worth it! This national park is absolutely spectacular with no shortage of activities. We loved going fishing along the rivers, hiking, exploring temples as well as horse back riding along the amazing and never ending landscapes. Do yourself a favour, and go!
Wonderful landscapes ! Pretty quite different from the west ones : more mountains, rocks... but also more hotels, wich makes that place less free and savage than the rest of the country.
Beautiful mountainous place near from the City.
Very nice place for tourism
Nice one day excursion from Ulaanbaatar. Lots of development give its a national park. Its well worth hiking up one of the surrounding peaks. Beautiful view from the top.
Simply stunning. Rolling green hills, gentle streams, and surrounded by horses and cows.
Scenic landscape. One hour drive from Ulaanbaatar. Many activities for the nature lovers here.
Beautiful national park a bit touristy. But worth to visit it
Wild animals, beautiful horizon, hills, you will feel you are in part you great nature,,,
Need more improvements but it still quite good place. Stunning surroundings. 1 of best places to hike and rest in wildness. Not far from capital city and it has electricity, hot water and etc.
Close to UB and some stunning rock formations. Make sure you explore and go for a walk.
Wonderful scenery offering a breathtaking experience. Wild horses, traditional nomadic gers or yurts in numerous locations for sleeping, and camel riding can be seen in this region. Just an hour or a little less drive from the capital and you will end up somewhere completely different from a city environment.
So much fun, especially with the mini naadam festival. Going for a hike here is good as well!!
Beautiful national park with modern amenities. There are many activities nearby, golf course, horse riding , camel riding, normadic farm etc..... A beautiful river runs across where you can go fishing, swimming or camping
Brilliant scenic park but only if they stop building accommodation soon and concentrate on preserving what they have
The most picturesque part of the Mongolian countryside. A bit overrun by Ger camps but otherwise lovely.
